We got vegan pad kee mow and vegan pad khing tofu. The vegan pad khing tofu comes with tofu, mushroom, ginger, onion, garlic, and bell pepper. I really liked this dish. We got steamed rice to pair. Next I tried the vegan pad kee mow and especially after the previous dish, the spice level on this really hit! I would say it's definitely on the spicier of spicy side. My partner eventually got hit halfway through the dish where the spice really started accumulating. Both were very delicious though! We came in on 4th of July for lunch and it was very busy. There was just one server so there was a bit of a longer wait for us to order after we were seated, but I could see how busy she was, seating people, checking out their bills, answering the phone, serving dishes, and handling takeout orders. Eventually towards the second half of our meal, a second server arrived. Empty tables got cleared much faster. We intended to make a visit to The Papaya Lady but she was closed. Lucky for us this place was not. Parking lot is a little tight as this shopping center is small and have quite a few tenants that warrant a lot of visitors. We walked in and were greeted immediately and told we could choose where to sit. This place is quaint and intimate. Some booths and some tables. There were a few patrons. We were given some water and our menus right away. We ordered the following: 1. Papaya Salad, medium. You can choose from Thai style or Laos style. We went with Laos. The sauce was dark and pungent..so you know it was delicious. 2. Eggplant sauté and had them add fried tofu. It was delicious. Eggplant was a beautiful shade of purple. Dish was well seasoning. 3. 2 orders of sticky rice. 4. Thai Hot Wings topped with a Thai sweet chili sauce and fried Thai basil. Chicken was well seasoned, fried crispy and sauce was finger lickin good. You get like 3 whole chicken wings per order. They cut the drum from the flat and I think it makes it easier to eat and ensures maximum crispness. 5. Thai Iced Tea was refreshing and just what was needed to calm the taste buds that were in fire. Waitress was attentive. Inside of the restaurant clean. The bathroom was well stocked with papertowels and was clean. Service was wonderful and quick. We were traveling and food was done in 10 to 15 minutes. But the best part was the flavor and freshness of the food. We eat Thai food quite often and this literally was up there with authenticity and tastiness. From the outside the place looks small and demure, but the people, service, and food are amazing. I'm usually not a fan of soup noodles but tom yum pho looked appetizing from the reviews and because it has my fav lemongrass soup. It was so great that I couldn't stop eating even after I was full. I walked in and wasn't acknowledged at all. I stood there for several minutes with no greeting or indication that anyone would be helping me. A worker came out at one point to give firefighters their food, but still said nothing to me--as I stood there. Arrived for lunch 1ish. A young woman was the only person for the whole place. It's not that big, but she was good at keeping up with everyone. The portions were either big or small. Hubby ordered the combination noodle soup, large. It was a it said, large. I ordered the full order Yellow Curry, which actually came with rice - most charge extra. The full size was quite small in my opinion, but none the less, the taste was on point! I was super happy with the spice level. Normally it's too much on just a standard basis, but this was perfect. For someone who prefers a not-so- spicy curry, it was great. The Thai tea was mixed right. The milk and tea did not overpower each other. Overall, we will be back. Pho: 5/5 pho broth is phenomenal. Still taste good as it is without any sauces. Pad Thai: 1/5 such a disappointment. The pad Thai sauce was watery when we received it. I can tell you it had no flavor all. You know how when u just look at food and you think there is no way food doesn't have a taste--this dish was straight up nothing. Pad Thai has been declining for a while now I just didn't want to give them the benefit of the doubt. Came here a few months back at least their pad Thai was a 3/5 but this time I would have to say it was in the category of one of my worst pad Thai experience. The looks can be deceiving.... Overall, I think we'll come here for the pho but as far as food wise it's decent. By the time we were done running our errands, it was already 2:30 so I decided to look for the nearest Thai/Lao restaurant and came upon this restaurant. I took a quick look at their photos and decided to call in to see if they closed between 3 and 5 PM so we wouldn't be stuck having to go elsewhere. When the guy told me that they stayed open until closing & that they offered Lao style papaya salad & larb, we made our drive over. Even though the two items mentioned were not on their menu, they definitely made them taste good enough to be on the menu. We also ordered an order of fried chicken wings and sticky rice to eat with our meal. Everything was well seasoned and tasty, but my only complaint was that the green papaya was kind of old since it didn't taste fresh and crunchy as it should be. The waitress was very sweet and accommodating so they get an extra star for excellent service. The bathroom was also very clean so that's a very big bonus as well. Glad we came across this place.
