I was looking for something special to cure a sweet tooth after a long day of skiing when I saw CocoLove on Yelp. It's located right downtown and easy to find! The shop is small, so I could see it getting crowded. They had chocolates, desserts, pastries, teas, and coffees. I went with a huckleberry chocolate mousse for $8 that was indulgent, rich, thick, and delicious. It wasn't very sweet, but still capable of giving somebody a sugar high. I wanted to try the chocolates but at $2+ for each little square I decided to save that for another time. Overall, I thought it was a little overrated and overpriced. But I'd still be willing to try a couple more things to fully make up my mind. I'm from SLC and we have an amazing dessert shop that I'm in love with (Fillings and Emulsions) so I can be a pretty rough critic when it comes to desserts. read more

Although this place sells artisan chocolate, pastries, gelato and espresso we only tried the gelato given it was summer and wanted something cold. We arrived around 7:30pm (place closes at 8pm) on a Saturday and it was empty. The workers seemed to be really bored. We tasted the coconut, caramel, hazelnut and the raspberry gelato. They were generous with the tasting portion as I tried two flavors and my wife tried three flavors. I went with the raspberries and my wife with the hazelnut. They are both really good and depends if you want a chocolate flavor or a fruity flavor. Although I didn't like the actual raspberry inside the ice cream. Thought they were too cold, too big and too sweet. The ice cream would be better without them or if they were cut into small pieces. read more

If you are a chocolate lover this is for sure the place to go. I took home 3 of the beautiful pastries and they were all delicious. I go a coconut creme brulee, raspberry chocolate gateau and a praline dessert. They were all delicious in their own way and extremely beautiful. All of the flavors were present in each and there were layers of flavor in all of them. This isn't an American type pastry place but a pure culinary treat. These are created from someone classically trained who knows how to play and match flavors. I didn't try any coffee or anything else but will be back to try. You must go to Coco Love if you are a chocolate lover! I had the Mexican hot chocolate with skim milk (and can't imagine it with any heavier milk because the mix is so rich), and it was fabulous. They can add some hot pepper seasoning to it if you like, but I enjoyed the mixture of cinnamon, chocolate, and whatever other spices are in it. My husband had the espresso gelato, and it was so light and smooth. They have some beautiful bon bons and truffles. YUM. read more

This place is so amazing!!! My fiancé and I stumbled upon this place and were so happy we did. He got the mini cheesecake which simply amazing. It was so pretty we hated cutting into it. I got the creme brûlée in a chocolate cup. We then learned that their Gelato won an award for being the best and the competition was in Italy!! Sooooooo we tried that as well. I had the Masters Gâteaux and an americano, and my wife had a chocolate tart. It was all delicious. I normally don't take pictures of my food, but this was an exception. And it was all delicious. The chocolate tart was so rich and perfectly balanced. The crust was very good, too. The gateaux, well, it was other-worldly. I can't remember everything that was in it -- chocolate, almond, lemon, white chocolate, berries?, and cardamom. The depth of flavor was outstanding. From the time it entered my mouth until after I swallowed, the flavors changed. And I have to say, I love cardamom in my Turkish coffee, but I never would have expected it in gateaux. Stopped in for a pastry. I asked if they had jalapeño ham and cheese croissants and was told no. So I chose a regular ham and cheese - there were two different sizes, and I was told one was cheddar and one was Swiss. I chose the Swiss. I was not expecting to find a high end chocolate dessert place here. However, the founder is a award winning chocolatier. We got the mexican hot chocolate and it was delicious, seemed like there was a hint of cinnamon. We also, got the coconut bread pudding, yes it was just as good as it sounds. But the best dish was the tres leches, it was more of a mango tres leches even though not labeled that way. We got three different kinds of macaroons and "Tres Leches" cake with chocolate on top. It was delicious and was surprised they used Mango instead of strawberries. I come to Jackson every winter and typically stay at The Wort hotel. This shop is located right across the street and it's convenient..in fact, I just came from there on a snowy day. The chocolate is delicious - I'm not a huge fan of dark though and the majority is... so a lot of you dark coco lovers will enjoy it. They do have a milk chocolate truffle and I love their saffron vanilla and cherry/earl grey truffle. Their hot chocolate is great - not too sweet, so it's perfect. Their desserts are presented beautifully...artistic. I've never tried them as I'm allergic to flour but they may have some gluten free ones. My only issue is the service. Repeatedly, I have been here and the young lady with the accent is unfriendly - never gracious, just hands me my receipt without a word and is just in a rush to get me out of there (when there are no customers). Not sure what is going on with her but she seems to always have bad days...or just a long term bad attitude. Makes me want to skip this place to avoid the negativity. But to each their own and it's best to come in and try it all for yourself! read more

I ordered a cappuccino and had a tiny piece of dark chocolate salted caramel. The cappuccino was served lukewarm, not hot like I like it. It was also served in a very small cup, maybe 3-4oz, not worth the money. The chocolate was just OK, nothing I was wowed by. I didn't taste the sweet and saltiness I was looking for from the caramel and sea salt combination. My husband, though, did enjoy his gelato.
