I had come to eat, after all. The Octopus Carpaccio was the highlight. Thin slices of octopus paired with Spanish chorizo and peppers made for an absolutely divine combination. The presentation drew me in, but the flavors held my attention. This is the dish I would return for. The Parisian Gnocchi, served with summer squash, chanterelles, and basil, offered something different from the potato-based versions I'm accustomed to. The flour-based preparation was interesting and enjoyable, though the portion felt small for an entrée. I found myself studying the arrangement, partly in admiration and partly to establish whether there might be another gnocchi hiding somewhere. The heirloom tomato and watermelon salad was my least favorite. I didn't think the cucumbers worked particularly well with the other ingredients, and the result felt fairly ordinary despite its beautiful presentation. At $26, I wanted something more memorable. The Midnight Orchard was my favorite cocktail. Its blueberry-infused bourbon, turbinado syrup, and plum and orange bitters made it a standout. Le Carajillo was another highlight: Licor 43, pandan, and espresso came together remarkably smoothly--probably the smoothest carajillo I've had. The evening finished with the Valrhona dark chocolate dessert, accompanied by caramel sabayon and white chocolate ice cream. Naomi deserves particular recognition. She knew every dish down to the fine details and answered questions with an ease that reflected how thoroughly she understood the menu. She was also unfailingly polite and welcoming. Her knowledge helped me appreciate what was on the plate, and her hospitality made the evening that much more enjoyable. Then came the bill: $167.78 before tip, for me alone. Apparently, admiring the art and acquiring it have more in common than I thought. The price didn't erase the pleasure of dinner, but it did give me pause. I didn't leave hungry, though I didn't feel full either. In fairness, I chose lighter dishes, so my ordering likely contributed. Still, portion size and price remain part of the experience, even when the food is beautifully executed. The setting and service were five stars, and the octopus and drinks gave me plenty to recommend. The value was harder to embrace. Four stars overall: a memorable evening, made better by Naomi, with a few exceptional highlights and a price that makes returning a considered decision.

We started with the French onion soup and deviled eggs. French onion soup was good with the appropriate amount for gruyere and bread and soup. The deviled eggs was their signature appetizer. It was good but not as silly as others we have had. The trout caviar gave it a nice pop and taste. For mains, we ordered the steak frites and short rib beef bouginon. Presentation-wise, the NY strip was sliced and had extras like rosemary butter, grilled garlic and onion. The bad is that it looked and tasted like a cheap cut of NY strip. There was sinew running halfway in the middle of the steak so made it tough to chew. I started discarding those pieces. The fries were delicious... and we ordered the truffle version with an upcharge. For the beef bouginon, the beef was tender but came in one big chunk. I've not see it served that way before. Beef was stringy and considering it's supposed to be short rib, it was lean IMO. The stew was decent with chunks of potato, carrot and pearl onions. For dessert, we ordered the Profilotores and Blueberry parfait. Thought the Profilotores was yummy! Paired with big scoops of ice cream makes it had to beat. The parfait was a soft cheesecake with big blueberry and sauce for toppings. It was a good choice... delicious as well. Overall, ambiance and service were great! The food esp the mains were a disappointment. Hope they spend a little more for a better cut of beef. Hard to justify going back unless somebody asks to go. Giving 4 stars as ambiance and service were 5/5 and food were 3/5.

The restaurant is elegant, the food was delicious, and the entire experience was outstanding. We started our date night with a refreshing bottle of Raimbault et Fils Sancerre Vignerons, paired with a variety of appetizers, including shrimp ceviche, Wagyu empanadas, Wagyu sliders, a wedge salad, and both East Coast and Gulf oysters. Every dish was perfectly prepared, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. To end the evening, we followed Alberto's recommendation and ordered the chocolate soufflé, served with vanilla ice cream. The dessert was perfectly balanced, rich yet not overly sweet, making it the ideal finale to an exceptional meal. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant. From the impeccable service to the outstanding cuisine and inviting atmosphere, it was a memorable experience, and we look forward to returning soon.

I went during lunch, and it wasn't too busy, which was a plus. We made a reservation because I had heard this place gets packed. I got the potato croquette, the steak frites (which was +$24), and the chocolate dome. The potato croquette was phenomenal, and I really enjoyed it. It was crispy with a soft interior, and the sauce tasted like a tomato bisque, which paired really well with it. The steak frites, on the other hand, was not good. I'm used to steak frites being cut already, which isn't a big deal, but this steak was WELL DONE when I ordered medium rare. The waitress did offer to make me another one since I only ate two bites, but I don't like sending food back. So, I just kept it, didn't eat it, and still paid for it. :( The chocolate dome was good. The flavors were decent, and I liked the texture. The cappuccino was bland and boring. I don't think I'll be going back here.

The dining room provided a rustic yet beautiful ambiance, and service was gracious, although our server was a bit overwhelmed at times, and we had to flag him down. Our group started with three different hors d'oeuvre: escargot, foie gras, and salads de homard. The foie gras was perfect, and the salad fresh and delicious. Although the escargot was tender and well seasoned, I'd hoped for a more garlicky butter. For entrees, we tried the boeuf bourgignon (beef braised in red wine) - tender and classically rich and savory; the risotto with seafood - flavorful, yet light; and the magret de canard roti (roasted duck breast). Ever since I had a bad experience with duck at another French restaurant (it was so gamey, we didn't eat it) I've been hesitant to order it, even though I love roast duck. I was pleasantly surprised by Etoile's! Tender and delicious, though I would have liked a crispier skin. Still excellent! We enjoyed the desserts, as well, and agreed it was a wonderful meal :)

The lack of valet parking isn't a total loss because there's a lot across the street and a garage around the corner, also free event parking at the curb. With a party of 4 adults and 2 kiddos, we were able to have a comfortable meal with plenty of space for wiggling feet. The menu itself offers so much, it was honestly difficult to choose! Everything sounded worth having on a plate, but HRW is best enjoyed with indulgence in mind. One can never go wrong with a salad as a starter, and the Filet Wellington was so tender. The pastry case was so light and flaky, really tied each bite together. And that sauce, bottle it. Lastly, dessert. This apple tart was indeed fine. The ice cream brought sweetness to the tart without overpowering the apples, and not a crumb was left. Service really allowed for the meal to be enjoyed. I felt like I could've sat for hours, and a glass of Rosé certainly helped. Also a reservation, avoided a wait time entirely!

The menu was much more vast than I expected, ranging from affordable, light, brunchy plates to pricey entrees, as well as breakfast, lunch, and brunch. Truly something for everyone. The fries looked scrumptious in Yelp photos, so I went with the vegetarian omelette with a side of fries. I was so pleased with the whole meal...I did not leave a single bite behind. And it only cost $12! I really enjoyed the aioli with the fries. These were not frozen fries, that's for sure. The omelette was perfect! It was packed full of sautéed onions, mushroom, bell peppers, tomatoes, and cheese. We split a crepe for dessert with chocolate, strawberries, and whipped cream. It was the perfect dessert because it wasn't too heavy, but yet the crepe had substance. Our server was polite and the ambiance was quaint. There were lots of antique-looking clocks on top of the bar, which was really cool. Also the restaurant was not loud by any means, which is exceedingly rare nowadays. TLDR: Worth a visit if you're in the area?…read more Wow! Hidden gem? Forgotten favorite? I don't know, but after tasting the food, we have to get the word out about this spot. Arriving around lunchtime on a weekday, I had the place to myself which allowed me a unique opportunity to take the place in. That being said, this spot is not overly French cafe themed, but instead a classic suburban strip mall spot with nods to the French peppered throughout the menu and decor. The booth area is well-designed, the spot was clean and the table touched by light so after a great experience chatting with the cashier I was crossing my fingers, hoping the food matched the vibe. I had a crepe Mexicana (because who has ever heard of that?!), a croque monsieur with tomato soup, and a dessert crepe because y'all know I always save room for dessert. It took a minute to be prepared, but I'm willing to wait for a fresh made meal. Everything, was delicious. Crepe texture was on point, and each crepe was stuffed to the Gods. Positive experience all around. My tip: Order the tomato soup and finish your meal with the following combo- a dessert Crepe Almonds with strawberries. Trust me on that one!
