I took our daughter to Coco Fresh Tea & Juice in Richmond so we could try their new Popping Series drinks. She had the Popping Blue Moon while I had the Popping Mars. We're huge fans of boba poppers. It's just such a cool sensation when those tiny little spheres burst open and release all that juicy sweetness in your mouth. While both drinks were delicious, we agreed that the Popping Blue Moon was our favourite. As far as I know, these drinks are only available at a few select stores in Richmond and Surrey. I hope they'll start offering it at other locations too though. Coco is currently featuring their Dragonfruit series drinks (Dragon Fruit Smoothie with Yogurt & Pass Dragon Fruit with Honey Jelly). The colour of the drink definitely caught my attention. I absolutely love the magenta pink colour and the tropical aroma of the drink. The drink was made with real Pitaya (Red Dragon Fruit), passion fruit seeds, and honey jelly. The drink was very refreshing and even though the lowest sugar level was 70% it wasn't overly sweet! I decided to try Coco's new Strawberry Series and got the Fresh Strawberry Black Tea ($5.30+tax), large size, less ice, regular sweet. Compared to other places, the tea taste was weak and the drink was very watered down. Probably because there was still a lot of ice for "less ice". I bought my own reusable cup that I use for many bbt places and noticed their "large" is like a medium level at other places. Unless they got my order wrong and gave me a medium instead. :/ This is my first time at this Coco location and likely my last. January 20% roasted grass jelly milk tea. I added pearls to mine too. I like their roasted milk tea - the first half of the drink had a strong roasted flavour, but the second half was a little too milky. Their grass jelly is a huge chunk that is very soft and easily breaks apart (and more importantly drinkable through a straw). I also dig their chewy pearls with a hint of sweetness. Got to try the Brown Sugar BBT after hearing its one of the bests from the Brown Sugar Line. Was a bit disappointed with the taste though. It reminded me of the leftover milk remaining after a bowl of cereal. Basically cereal milk. The drink was not overly sweet though which I liked, and the pearls were one of the bests that I've had so far, the texture was nice and chewy, full of flavor. Tip from the worker at coco, do not shake the brown sugar drink, stir as you drink instead. The worker saw how vigorously I was shaking the drink and came over to tell us this haha. We also got the Taro Sago drink and it was super yummy! Tasted almost like you were having a dessert! (i.e. to the point that the staff would recognize my hubby and punch in the order before he even reached the counter) The sweetness and ice level of the drinks is always on point and we've tried a majority of the drinks on the menu and we haven't been disappointed yet. Service here was the worst I've ever experienced. I said i wanted a medium in both chinese AND english because the server looked like she couldn't understand either language. She finally responded in chinese, confirmed the order, proceeded to charge me a large, then refused to fix the problem when i noticed it after i had to grab my own receipt. She then had the audacity to try to argue with me, then shoved the drink at me and told me to just take it. If this drink wasn't for someone else, i would've just left. Don't come to this location again unless you want rude behavior. Oh, and they did NOT do social distancing during coronavirus. Tried their new bubble teas (Strawberry Latte w/ Pearls and Brown Sugar MilkTea). I first thought the Strawberry Latte would a weird mix, but it turned out wayyyyyy better than I expected. There was way too much topping I was drinking through an inch of cream and didn't get to the tea for the first 6 sips. Cream topping also cold. Cashier seems really unhappy with something... no smile... when we order green tea with salty foam, she asked for sugar. We were like could we get 80% sugar. She simply gave us an eye roll and tapped on the screen said we don't have 80%. So we ordered 70%. This location is super close for me and best thing is there's rarely an insane lineup. My go to drink at Coco has got to be the Taro Sago with pudding. However with the brown sugar craze going on, I decided to get their brown sugar pearl latte instead. Sad to say it's the most disappointing one I've tried so far. The pearls .. tasted ok but gave my jaws the exercise of its life. I found the 'latte' tasted like plain milk which wasn't what I expected. I guess it could have had more brown sugar taste to it so that does it come off as paying $5.50 for pearls and milk. read more

Coco has good bubble tea but not super delicious. I feel like it's pretty over priced... but all the "new" bubble tea places opening up are all over priced. It was $5.75 for a large matcha milk tea with pearls and for the 3 guys milk tea it cost $6... I get that you get pearls, pudding and grass jelly but I'm sure you could get it cheaper elsewhere. It's definitely not my favourite go-to bubble tea place in Richmond, however if I want a change of taste from my regular bubble tea place (aka Bubble world) then I would probably come here. read more

I've been a fan of coco for many years. Their bbt has good flavors and I can't get enough of it. However, recently I became obsessed with their grapefruit yakult for some unknown reason. They put in two bottles of yakult and squeeze a lot of grapefruit juice from a fresh grapefruit. When you drink it, you can actually taste pulp from the fruit. The bitterness of the grapefruit cuts the sweetness of the drink and makes it really refreshing and tasty! Just beware that their drinks are really sweet. I usually go for half sugar or even less if I want to add any toppings since toppings are also sweet. read more

I drink a lot of bubble tea. This is a new Richmond location. I went during their soft opening and again when they officially opened. I didn't review the soft opening simply 'cause they were working some kinks and it was busy and thought that I would give them a fair review once it officially opened. This operates like the other chain stores. I had my Bubble Tea half sweetened with extra pearls. Because it wasn't so busy when I went they were more than gracious to make some flavor adjustments and accommodations. There is some seating inside. If there was negative stars to give, this place would deserve it! I went into this Coco location as I am a long time Coco customer in Washington State. I like to visit Coco wherever I can find one because they pretty much taste the same every Coco location I visit. I walked in to order my usual drink, which is caramel milk tea as well as taro milk tea for my kids. They were having their November "deal" which is free egg pudding with the caramel milk tea. The picture they had for this had the egg pudding next to the milk tea. So I asked the lady cashier if the egg pudding is in the tea or if it's separate. She said it's separate, so I agreed to get it. I also told her i don't want the egg pudding inside the tea and she said it's not, and it is separate. When I got the 2 drinks, I didn't see any egg pudding, so I asked where it was. She told me it's in my tea. So I explained that I didn't want the pudding in my tea and I made sure that it was separate, not mixed in the tea. She tried to re-word what she meant, and this Asian guy, who was working next to her jumped in and started talking to me very rudely and unprofessionally. He said it's not mixed into the tea, but it is in the tea. And I explained to him that I already asked the lady specific questions on where the egg pudding is going to be, and he kept on raising his voice, telling me that I learned something new today. I told him I cannot drink this, then he yelled at me to give it back and when I did, he threw it into the garbage can and handed me 5 dollars. Then he made me feel stupid again by "you learned something new today. Good for you!" I told him that yes, I leaned that some people just don't know how to communicate and be professional and we left. The drink was fine but the service was abysmal. Went there earlier in the month for "3 Guys" drink and the young Asian lady at the front counter was disturbingly rude and belligerent. She told me that they only accept debit card and repeated the word "DEBIT!" in a loud and condescending voice like I am one of her inferiors - ridiculous. When I was passed the debit machine this lady then leaned her head and pressed so close to me to ensure that I gave her adequate amount of tips! What a disgrace! I gave her $0.59 tips and no word of thank you, she slammed the receipt on the counter and then proceeded to her business. We went to Cambie branch yesterday , been wanting to try this for months . I have tried this in the Philippines when i visited last year . It was good so when i saw that we have it here in richmond , i was excited . Yesterday morning , i saw that there were no line in the counter , so i ordered 2 of the brown sugar pearl latte . Took ut home with me , after 1 hr from buying my milk teas , i opened one . To my surprise , it was very bland even if i stirred it really well . I even opened the whole plastic top cover , just to make sure i stirred the sweet taste in . Still , very bland and watery in taste . The pearls are hard in the center . Not chewy but hard . My husband was disappointed because i kept on telling him that this brand is soo good as I've tried it in manila . My husband bought milk teas in yaohan foodcourt , the buy1 get 1 deal . It was way better than the large ones i bought in coco . Such disappointment indeed ! We are milk tea lovers and this branch will be out of our list for now on. read more
