I stopped into Cobblestones on a trip to Boston, and I thought it was cute, with the potential to be even better. The coffee selection was a little disappointing, with no seasonal options or flavor options beyond syrups. But, overall, the coffee was flavorful. Service was great. The person behind the counter was very personable and made great recommendations. I got my breakfast sandwich relatively quickly, and it was good, but I noticed that it was served on a pretty badly chipped plate. This could be hazardous, so I would like to see an improvement there in the future. The food and service were overall good at Cobblestones. I think with some redecorating and slight rebranding, it could become a Beacon Hill staple. The interior doesn't currently match the vibe of Beacon Hill, but I think this could be a pretty easy change to make. I would also like to see an improvement on the coffee menu. They could give Tatte a run for their money if a seasonal menu were available! read more

Tried Cobblestones through a catering option at work and was pleasantly surprised. I got the pear and Gouda sandwich and added turkey--great flavor combo, and even with the added meat, the price was still lower than what I typically pay at similar spots in the area. They also included side options like small containers of fresh fruit, which I really appreciated. Everything tasted fresh, the portions were just right, and I'd definitely order from here again. Parking is hard to find, we were walking by around the area so easily accessible. No restroom or hand sanitizer. Place feels small, they do have outdoor seating but it's closed if it had rained. I thought it was pricey for a simple meal. Sandwhich was $16 and drink was $9. Don't get me wrong the meatball sub and drink was delicious! I got full with half(easily shareable). Found Cobblestones while searching for a coffee shop close to The Public Gardens. Absolutely thrilled that I did. It was my first visit and I was treated as if I were a member of the family. I realize how cliche that sounds but I truly was. I was waited on by Jennifer, who I later learned was the owner. Although it was a very busy Sunday morning, she took her time with me. I felt special because there was nothing I asked her about that she did not accommodate. The pear and gouda sandwich, that everyone comments about here is truly great. I drink iced tea every day and Cobblestone's was fantastic. There was a great assortment of take home entrees that looked truly phenomenal - looked as though they were entire large, well-thought-out meals. There were prepared sandwiches or you could order one made. There was soup and salad and so much goodness. I never felt rushed while I sat with my friend. The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing and comfortable. It wasn't one of these smaller places where the noise level drives you crazy. It's on a really lovely corner and you can look out at the architecture and the Common and the Public Gardens. I highly recommend that you check Cobblestones out. read more

If I could rate this place zero stars, I would. I ordered the Gouda and fig grilled cheese with no arugula, the tomato soup, and the strawberry lemonade. My grilled cheese came with arugula, the lemonade was $8.50, and the soup was cold when it arrived. I am not one to complain to employees very often but what they gave me was wrong, overpriced, and low quality. I cannot stress this enough- if you are looking for a delicious, hot, high quality meal, do NOT eat here. We stopped here for brunch one morning. It's not too far from the MGH redline stop or from Boston Commons. I didn't find their latte selection to be very broad or full of seasonal flavors, but they do offer the basics. I had their pear and Gouda grilled cheese which was delicious. It comes with a nice fig spread which brings alot of flavor. Between the Gouda and pear, it is the perfect blend of sweet and savory. Highly recommend. My husband had the breakfast burrito and said it was okay. He didn't feel as though it was packed with flavor and felt it was missing a sauce - maybe like a chipotle sauce. He had a vanilla latte and I had a cappuccino. My cappuccino was pretty good. My husband enjoyed his vanilla latte but I would say if you only want a coffee- this isn't the place for you. As for seating, you can sit both inside or outside. There is not much service. You purchase your meal, they deliver it and then never come back to check on you. To start the bread was hard and not fresh at all, I was very disappointed. Panini sandwich for $14.50 you expect to get a good portion of deli meat but that was NOT the case very very little!!(see pic below) This is a one and done for me, I will go to a spot where I can get my moneys worth because Cobblestone isn't providing good standards, freshness in its products, bread not fresh, bland pickles, quantity control and getting your moneys worth for your buck! I got heart palpitations and felt lightheaded in the midst of my run, so I was in need of some sustenance. Cobblestones is right off Boston Commons, and it's so pretty to just walk around the Beacon Hill area. I got a chocolate croissant, which was quite buttery and flakey, and I also appreciated that the employees heated it up for me. Pastry prices aren't listed on the menu, and I was surprised to find that the croissant was $5.88 after tax, which was quite pricey considering how airy it was. I'm so glad I stumbled upon Cobblestones while roaming around Beacon Hill! From the time I entered & throughout my entire lunch, the environment and staff were incredibly friendly. The menu is pretty similar to Tatte, however, has some staples that you can't find at the competitor. Such as açaí bowls, ice cream & a plethora of soups in house instead of only a soup of the day. I ordered the chicken avocado pita & snagged one of the lemonades in the cooler. Overall, was really pleased with both, but more so the sandwich. I'm A HUGE lemonade girl & was slightly disappointed in Cobblestone's. One thing that I would've loved was a side of chips with my sandwich that comes with it rather than having to pay extra. I believe the owner was there while I was enjoying my meal & I loved her energy and presence. She made it a point to spark conversation with guests, bring the food out personally, and was extremely hands on putting together orders. I appreciate that so much! Two times in a row where they first forgot about my order I had to ask the employees behind the counter three times and ended up waiting there for almost an hour after I placed an online order 30 minutes before I arrived in store. Had a wonderful lunch at this precious little cafe in Boston. It's often difficult to find delicious, fresh, good for you food when traveling. This was the perfect meal leaving us ready to walk the Freedom Trail. Hubby and I split a sandwich (The Charlie-chicken cutlet, arugula, prosciutto, fig and blue cheese and a Mediterranean salad). Service was wonderful and we had a nice chat with the owner. She was very hospitable! Grabbed a blondie for later. Everything was delicious, and I highly recommend. read more

Great food but horribly slow service! Don't go if you are in a rush. Seating area is tight.

Consistency and hours are the main issues. Sundays with missing pastery inventory? Allowing some non-service dogs and not other neighborhood dogs? The food issue is the most persistent. The biggest issue after a full year of open is the hours. Cobblestones is leaving a ton of business on the floor to Tatte by refusing to open at the online posted hours unless the owner is unaware that the opening shift is refusing to open the doors while prepping. read more

Very disappointing. Excited to support a local business, but after a few attempts I'll continue to support nearby Tatte or Flour instead. I once ordered a smoothie and after waiting quite a while, I received it warm. There was no ice or cold ingredients added. It was still warm from the blender motor when I received it. More recently, I ordered a BLAT. The sandwich was very thin. One slice of bacon and one slice of small slice of cheese (that I paid extra for). For the same price, Tatte has the same sandwich that is filled with fresh ingredients. What bothered me the most was the lack of a restroom for dine-in customers. How can you not have an option for customers? I dined here 9 months pregnant and was very clearly told by the employees that they had no options available "for the public". read more

cute locally owned corner cafe. I believe it's family run too as I overheard the owner mention her son was working here too. I came in for a quick bite, I wanted the pear and Gouda sandwich but wanted meat on my sandwich. I added turkey to the sandwich. It was good but one side of the toast(panini) was overly toasted and I wish they used a little more fig jam. I enjoyed it but not love, really if there had been more fig jam I think this sandwich would have really popped. I would definitely come back though to try other sandwiches or from the start ask for more fig jam on the sandwich. We waited for awhile then they came back out and said they were out of farro. I guess quinoa will do. Would've been nice to know this while we were ordering but it's fine. We waited a little while more. They came out again with our salads... which had feta in it. We ordered the very vegan salad... and cheese is not vegan. So they took it back and took out the cheese. Great place to eat breakfast,lunch, and dinner. The staff is attentive and nice. The owners did an excellent job with this establishment. I know Jen personally and recall when the place first opened. They made a lot of great additions to the place since it opened including the picnic meals and take home dinners. I recently moved out of Boston and made it a point to stop by for breakfast on my last day and got a tote bag to remember Cobblestones. The real knock here is that neither the person who helped me/made my food nor her boss were wearing a mask. The boss had his tucked under his nose. The server didn't have one at all.
