If you know what this place is about, it can be totally fine. I was looking for a cafe to work on my laptop and this is NOT the right place for that. They have signs that say no laptops on weekends and 1 hour on weekdays. Out of respect I decided to go somewhere else because I didn't want to break their rules, but the 3 places I walked to after were all full ( not super surprising, they were all small ). This is a very old part of Boston. I went back to cobblestones and sat at the high top bar area which was absolutely disgusting. The place was busy and they have a " now hiring " sign up and I've worked in the industry my whole life so I understand the struggle, but the entire vibe felt very off. I'm confused about being so busy and having no help at the same time, there's some supply / demand economics that need to be looked at here. Anyways, I ordered coffee and food, ASKED THE EMPLOYEE IF THEYD GIVE ME A SQUIRT BOTTLE AND RAG so I could clean the dirty high tops and table behind me because I felt bad for them and the place was disgusting. Then I asked for the WiFi code and they said " we don't have WiFi " I was so utterly annoyed that I had wasted so much time and when i realized I wasn't even going to be able to get work done I left without getting my food or coffee, went to tatte down the street ( not the closer one that one closed ) and had an excellent experience. TLDR: Expect dirty tables, slow services, and probably half decent food and coffee, but I didn't stick around to try what I ordered. read more

Really like this corner store and it's surrounding area as it's very inviting and the options sounded good. Service however is lackluster; they're not quick to clear minimal tables, the 20+ minute wait time for a cup of soup and a half sandwich is preposterous. Food is decent though and their spicy pickles on their Italian panini was tasty. If they could get better service this place could turn out good in 5 min or less! read more

Disappointing lunchtime experience today. Granted, they were fairly busy but geez.... Placed our order, waited over 30 minutes with our number displayed and watched food going out constantly. Finally stopped an employee to ask. He walked up, grabbed a plate and dropped it off...not our food. Husband went back to counter to give it back. A minute later two plates arrive. We could tell they'd been sitting a while somewhere, no idea why. No apology or explanation. Needless to say the food wasn't great after it had been sitting...and we had to ask again for the side chicken we'd paid for. Tables dirty, trash cans full, water taps empty. Yikes. read more

I stopped into Cobblestones on a trip to Boston, and I thought it was cute, with the potential to be even better. The coffee selection was a little disappointing, with no seasonal options or flavor options beyond syrups. But, overall, the coffee was flavorful. Service was great. The person behind the counter was very personable and made great recommendations. I got my breakfast sandwich relatively quickly, and it was good, but I noticed that it was served on a pretty badly chipped plate. This could be hazardous, so I would like to see an improvement there in the future. The food and service were overall good at Cobblestones. I think with some redecorating and slight rebranding, it could become a Beacon Hill staple. The interior doesn't currently match the vibe of Beacon Hill, but I think this could be a pretty easy change to make. I would also like to see an improvement on the coffee menu. They could give Tatte a run for their money if a seasonal menu were available! read more

Although I love the breakfast sandwiches and açaí bowls here, I was disappointed to find that their grab-and-go options are overpriced and not worth it. It was $4 for a tiny container of berries and $8 for a yogurt parfait with barely any toppings. Although it's in a convenient location near the public garden, I will head to the Trader Joe's or Whole Foods nearby for my grab-and-go items instead. read more

Our food was excellent! I had The Caprese (panini with mozzarella, tomato, basil, and prosciutto) and my friend had a breakfast bagel with eggs, sausage, and cheese. They were delicious, but there was no restroom here. I've never been to place that served food and didn't offer bathrooms, it didn't even know that was legally permissible, haha. Definitely stop here for a meal, just know that if you need to use the restroom, you're going have to find someplace else to go! read more

Tried Cobblestones through a catering option at work and was pleasantly surprised. I got the pear and Gouda sandwich and added turkey--great flavor combo, and even with the added meat, the price was still lower than what I typically pay at similar spots in the area. They also included side options like small containers of fresh fruit, which I really appreciated. Everything tasted fresh, the portions were just right, and I'd definitely order from here again. i got the very vegan and felt like for $14 in beacon hill it was a good portion and super yummy. i loved the cilantro lime vinaigrette! there weren't bathrooms for customers which i did find a little odd but i liked the vibe of this place for a chill lunch and they have a decent amount of outdoor seating as well. read more

Parking is hard to find, we were walking by around the area so easily accessible. No restroom or hand sanitizer. Place feels small, they do have outdoor seating but it's closed if it had rained. I thought it was pricey for a simple meal. Sandwhich was $16 and drink was $9. Don't get me wrong the meatball sub and drink was delicious! I got full with half(easily shareable). Place has seriously gone down hill. Slow service, and random substitutions without letting the customer know. Changed the bread, and also changed the avocado to guacamole without asking. This is particularly concerning because I have an onion allergy, and they said there are no onions in this. They could have hospitalized me. However, we also ordered this with ice cream, so its sweetness balanced it out. Found Cobblestones while searching for a coffee shop close to The Public Gardens. Absolutely thrilled that I did. It was my first visit and I was treated as if I were a member of the family. I realize how cliche that sounds but I truly was. I was waited on by Jennifer, who I later learned was the owner. Although it was a very busy Sunday morning, she took her time with me. I felt special because there was nothing I asked her about that she did not accommodate. The pear and gouda sandwich, that everyone comments about here is truly great. I drink iced tea every day and Cobblestone's was fantastic. There was a great assortment of take home entrees that looked truly phenomenal - looked as though they were entire large, well-thought-out meals. There were prepared sandwiches or you could order one made. There was soup and salad and so much goodness. I never felt rushed while I sat with my friend. The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing and comfortable. It wasn't one of these smaller places where the noise level drives you crazy. It's on a really lovely corner and you can look out at the architecture and the Common and the Public Gardens. I highly recommend that you check Cobblestones out. read more

If I could rate this place zero stars, I would. I ordered the Gouda and fig grilled cheese with no arugula, the tomato soup, and the strawberry lemonade. My grilled cheese came with arugula, the lemonade was $8.50, and the soup was cold when it arrived. I am not one to complain to employees very often but what they gave me was wrong, overpriced, and low quality. I cannot stress this enough- if you are looking for a delicious, hot, high quality meal, do NOT eat here. I thought it would take forever, but it was actually very fast service, My pear and gouda melt was excellent. My friend had the chicken salad which she said was much better than the usual. We stopped here for brunch one morning. It's not too far from the MGH redline stop or from Boston Commons. I didn't find their latte selection to be very broad or full of seasonal flavors, but they do offer the basics. I had their pear and Gouda grilled cheese which was delicious. It comes with a nice fig spread which brings alot of flavor. Between the Gouda and pear, it is the perfect blend of sweet and savory. Highly recommend. My husband had the breakfast burrito and said it was okay. He didn't feel as though it was packed with flavor and felt it was missing a sauce - maybe like a chipotle sauce. He had a vanilla latte and I had a cappuccino. My cappuccino was pretty good. My husband enjoyed his vanilla latte but I would say if you only want a coffee- this isn't the place for you. As for seating, you can sit both inside or outside. There is not much service. You purchase your meal, they deliver it and then never come back to check on you. On my Lunch break, first time trying was close by. The Pear gouda grill cheese was lacking the cheese? The cheese It was so none existent! The sliced pears was very chewy for some reason? A fresh pear would be crisp and delicious! Next I looked forward to eating The Good Fella, Prosciutto di Parma, Sopressata, Capicola, Mortadella & Provolone. To start the bread was hard and not fresh at all, I was very disappointed. Panini sandwich for $14.50 you expect to get a good portion of deli meat but that was NOT the case very very little!!(see pic below) This is a one and done for me, I will go to a spot where I can get my moneys worth because Cobblestone isn't providing good standards, freshness in its products, bread not fresh, bland pickles, quantity control and getting your moneys worth for your buck! I got heart palpitations and felt lightheaded in the midst of my run, so I was in need of some sustenance. Cobblestones is right off Boston Commons, and it's so pretty to just walk around the Beacon Hill area. I got a chocolate croissant, which was quite buttery and flakey, and I also appreciated that the employees heated it up for me. Pastry prices aren't listed on the menu, and I was surprised to find that the croissant was $5.88 after tax, which was quite pricey considering how airy it was. I probably wouldn't come here again because of that, but the croissant definitely alleviated my palpitations. read more

I'm so glad I stumbled upon Cobblestones while roaming around Beacon Hill! From the time I entered & throughout my entire lunch, the environment and staff were incredibly friendly. The menu is pretty similar to Tatte, however, has some staples that you can't find at the competitor. Such as açaí bowls, ice cream & a plethora of soups in house instead of only a soup of the day. I ordered the chicken avocado pita & snagged one of the lemonades in the cooler. Overall, was really pleased with both, but more so the sandwich. I'm A HUGE lemonade girl & was slightly disappointed in Cobblestone's. One thing that I would've loved was a side of chips with my sandwich that comes with it rather than having to pay extra. I believe the owner was there while I was enjoying my meal & I loved her energy and presence. She made it a point to spark conversation with guests, bring the food out personally, and was extremely hands on putting together orders. I appreciate that so much! Food 3.5/5: I got the Callie breakfast sandwich: it has two sunny side up eggs (pre-cooked and stored in a warmer), avocado (pre-made spread like thingy (not fresh avocado). pesto spread on the store bought Thomas' king size english muffin. You can choose to press them on a panini press. The overall taste is pretty good. But the materials are all premade and nothing fancy. I probably wounldn't come back for the sandwich in particular. Warning, probably an unfairly harsh review based off one smoothie. I came in for just a smoothie. Ordered the green machine, which was sour and not enjoyable, ended up throwing it away, which was sad for $10. The rest of the food looked good and I would consider retrying in the future, but not for a smoothie. No bathrooms. Order at the counter kinda place. Looked like a decent set up for a quick lunch.
