I was wandering around the mall trying to decide on a small gift to get for the girlfriend. The new color is passport plum so I popped into coach to see if they had something. Fortunately, I was able to score the last wallet in passport plum. I asked for some special wrapping and Saori was more than happy to oblige. She went to the back for a few minutes and came out with an amazingly wrapped gift box and bag. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that I really got some high-end gift wrapping because I saw other people with boxes and bags that were a plain brown. My box was black and of a thicker cardboard material with cloth ribbons and even the gift bag was black with a cloth handle. Always pays to be extra nice. Earlier in the morning, I had been roaming about Ala Moana Center checking out the traditional Japanese New Year's Day Fukubukuro (Lucky Grab Bag) celebrations and finally ended up in Coach Leather. As I started to browse, I asked Preston if there were any Fukubukuro bags available to purchase or should I just browse. He confirmed there were a few left. Ah, but I decided to just make a purchase for a leather purse that I've had my eyes on plus it was marked down 50%! I've always been a fan of Coach leather and I'm glad that some of their classic traditional styles and shapes have returned with some updated features. Their high quality leather speaks for itself as their products are sturdy and develop a gorgeous patina over time and with proper care. Speaking of update, I realized that I haven't updated my review even though I've been shopping or browsing in here over the past years. The big news is the fact that for some time now, Coach no longer considers Hawai'i as an "International Market" so they've brought price equity. The price of any of the leather goods costs the SAME as what you see online. Their friendly and helpful customer is still the same. The sales staff are more than willing to assist you in finding that "perfect" leather accessory, shoes, bag or wallet. They still have a great return or exchange policy if needed. read more

This is my favorite store to stop by when shopping at Ala Moana. You know you're a regular when you walk in and they know your name. I know that I've gotten to know the associates well enough that they call me Jen instead of my real name, and they call my son by his nickname Trei. Really, everyone there are super friendly and super helpful. Anyway, I went for the Coach Create event which was being held on 10/14/17 from 1-5pm. It was a one time event. After talking to the associates and the leather craftsman Sam, I found that they have been busy all day helping customers design their bags and getting it made right then and there. These designs are in paid additions to the regular free monogramming of the bags. According to Sam if the event goes well (which it looked like it was a hit- the store was packed with people) the company will be doing more of these events. So I brought in my Dinky bag I had bought a couple months ago. Sam went step by step on how to design. He also told me I could make multiple designs save it and decide which one I liked best. I chose the 7 tea roses design, picked the lay out, and Sam had me take a look before he made everything final. Every step of the way they work with you in customizing the bag. They also have different bag straps that you can swap out to make your bag one of a kind. For the event they were giving out cookies and drinks. They were super nice about my son taking a lot of cookies. One of the associate even put some cookies in a small bag for him take home. I found that there's a lot more options to customize your bag with coach create on the website, not limited to the event. Unfortunately because we live in Hawaii shipping can be pricey. I was told if there's something online that they don't have in store they order it. Also you can show them how you want it customized they can do it in store. read more

My fault for not returning the item within the 30 days but the design on this fannypack that my well intentioned husband got for me is so bad. Cel phone and keys barely fit and the design makes is difficult to get to to your things. This was enough motivation for me to stop buying anything else from Coach and my husband has also been advised to go elsewhere for any future gifts. read more

Coach is located in the Ala Moana Mall near Nordstrom. We were visiting Hawaii and I came to this Coach in search for a specific purse. Everyone working in the store was very friendly and extremely attentive to our needs. I told the lady which purse I was searching for and she went to the back to find it. When I asked her for her opinions she was very honest and helpful when it came to advice. She also told me that you can bring in any Coach purse or accessories into any Coach store, and depending on when it was purchased and how bad the damage is, they will replace or repair it. They will also treat and condition your purse for free any time. After finalizing the sale she packaged up my new purse in a nice box and brought us out waters. This location has amazing customer service, and I will definitely be back. I had a vintage coach purse with a rip in the strap, and wanted to get it repaired. They actually told me that it would be cheaper to get it repaired locally, and even offered a couple places that I could go to. On top of that, they asked if I was going to be in the mall a while, because they offer free leather cleaning services on all Coach items (I had no idea!) Located in the Ewa wing of Ala Moana Center, on the Mall Level, Coach is a well appointed store with friendly staff to assist as soon as you enter. On the day we visited, there was a 50% sale in progress, so there were good deals to be had! We left with a few purchases, but I called a day later about a bag on sale that my daughter-in-law loved. Miles was very helpful, found the bag and put it on hold for me. Usually, stores give you the run around and tell you to come in because they can't hold sale items. Not Coach! I was almost going to give this place 5 stars after my in-store experience until I went online. SERVICE: 5 STARS! I've never actually purchased anything from this store myself. (I've only received them as gifts.) The staff here make me feel welcome in this store, even when I'm dressed in plain clothes, and my kids are touching their immaculate displays. (This is more than I can say about a store several doors down at the corner.) The staff at Coach are knowledgeable and helpful even though 1) I don't speak Japanese 2) I've carried the same purse for the past 6 years and it shows 3) I don't know anything about current fashion trends. RETURN/EXCHANGE POLICY: 5 stars + Bonus stars! There is NO TIME LIMIT for returns or exchanges as long as you have a receipt. I received a bag THREE YEARS AGO that sat in a box in my closet untouched. I recently stumbled across the box and called the store to see what their policy was for exchanging something that was soooo old. They told me as long as I had a receipt/gift receipt, there's no time limit. (Really.) When I walked in, the guy said "oh I haven't seen that box in a while!" but was more than polite about me returning something from what is the equivalent of the dark ages in purse years. He didn't even ask why it took me so long or why I didn't want the bag. I was about to write a nice review about my experience of exchanging my gift for another bag but then I read Victoria K's review and I went to Coach online. GRRRRR. Yes, it's true. Hawaii is considered an "international" market so the bags get jacked up by almost $100! This is true for all Coach stores, Macy's, Nordstroms and any other store licensed to carry Coach products in Hawaii. (I'm not sure about the outlet prices, though.) NOTE TO COACH HQ: we are the 50th state, go check your facts! So what did I do? I returned the bag. I still have the store credit, which does not expire. If I order online, shipping fees are $40 to Hawaii, $8.50 to California. Or I can wait until I'm back on the mainland and buy it in person for the same online price. Went into Coach today with 1 mission: GET THE NEW DISNEY COLLABORATION BAG We go in...and are instantly greeted by Marc. Marc was fantastic. It's funny...you go into high end retailers at Ala Moana and (maybe it's my dress style) are instantly watched like a hawk. Marc...gave us space, let us browse and was there to help at all times. In fact, he went to the back several times to help us find exactly what we wanted. And boy did he do just that. We left spending close to a grand and I have a special something on special order, all thanks to Marc. In short, we left with what we wanted....and learned that great customer service still exists. Now that the Coach outlet stores are popping up left and right like a teenager getting their first case of bad acne, I'll pass. In high school, Coach was cool, I wanted a Coach backpack so badly. I wanted all the colors, blue, black, red, brown, yellow. The reason why Coach was so sought after was because of the quality of the leather. Now Coach bags are mostly canvas with leather trims. Coach is made in China. They've really lost what their company was based on to begin with, beautiful fine leather goods. It was cool years ago when J-Lo was rocking all the trendy C's in her music videos but now it's lost it's shine. Went shopping here for Christmas for the teenager, the sales people were friendly and helpful but I just wasn't feeling it. Ended up at Betsey Johnson instead. Did you know that Coach is an American based manufacturer? I'm not saying their products are made in the US, but its an American based company. Guess I learn something new everyday. Well, Coach leather-goods are certainly not synonymous to the "coach" experience we often are used to when it comes to transit. They offer a great selection of well-made bags, wallets, shoes, and who knows what else. The selection is wide ranging in a variety of colors, sizes, styles, and goodness knows what else. I've chosen to review this particular location since I often frequent it and find that they have a phenomenal customer service and if they don't have an item in stock, I'd be surprised. The staff at this location are incredibly friendly and helpful and have gone above and beyond on several occasions to help me find the perfect gift (within budget of course). The store itself is conveniently located near a plethora of parking as well as centrally located on the second level of the mall in a great spot if you need to do additional shopping. It is well laid out and brightly lit so you can peruse the selection at ease. There are so many SA in the shop and so little customers. The customer service is so so. After I ask about their scarfs and they don't carry it and I the SA don't think I will buy other things so didn't bother to ask me if I like other thing. Then I got a card holder and wait for awhile to pay and get a new one. When I got a new one, it doesn't even come with a box or anything. I know is not a expensive thing, but seriously? I was shock when they just give me the card holder without a box or bag for it. I don't think I will come back again. I originally wanted to buy a coach handbag on their on line website well I had problem with my gift card and the coach customer service in the mainland said to go down to the coach store at ala moana. That store shows the handbag you want is there. Told customer service thank you. But I called ala moana store first because I didn't want to go their and didn't have it. I spoke to a person named Melissa she was very helpful went to check the stock and they had it. Told her I'll be down so she put it on hold for me. When I arrive a Japanese speaking associate help me but didn't understand that I was saying, so I ask for Melissa she came out brought my bag and started the transaction. But we were having problem with the gift card she told me call back coach in the mainland to get it straighten out but I'll hold the bag for you. She asked when you'll be back i told her tuesday Jan 2. She said no problem it will be on hold for me. Well... Myself and my friend are huge Coach supporters so we visited the store in the mall. As I was shopping I noticed they were conducting some form of embroidery in the back. When we asked, the manager Wade explained the entire process and help us customize each and every tag. The engraver, Daniel, was magnificent. He was imaginative and creative with his work, and completed all the items very quickly. Everyone in the store was professional, courteous, and willing to help. Wow! I went into Coach today for a bag (I need to phase out my Louis before it starts to look worn). The saleswoman was so kind and helpful--that's not the issue. The new Legacy bags are beautiful and come in stunning colors--again, not the issue. I was expecting my bag and wallet (after browsing online) to come to just under $700. So imagine my surprise when the total came out to over $900! I thought there was a mistake until I was told that this Coach location is considered "international", and thus, the cost is higher. The girl was really kind and understanding when I told her I'd rather order online (which I just did). My then boyfriend bought me my very first Coach back in 1990. Eight bags and three wallets later, I'm still in love with Coach. I just purchased one in LA and got something on it. Coach told me to stop by one of their stores and have them ship it to them. I finally took the time to stop in and was introduced to Chad, the leather specialist. I was stunned when he said he would clean it while I had dinner. AMAZING! He is extremely friendly, professional, and knows the meaning of customer service! An excellent representation of perfection! Coach has nice quality handbags and accesorries. I like lot of their products and indeed own several bags but I will stick a needle in my eye rather than shop in their stores here, in Hawaii. No, its not the service which is very nice and I have been helped by some very nice and helpful SAs. Get ready for this-you will be changed at least a $100 more for whatever merchandise you are buying in HI because HI is considered part of their "international" division. I guess they didn't get the memo that HI IS part of US. I discovered this by accident when I was looking at the a certain bag recently and remembered that on their website it was a LOT less. Asked SA and that's what she told me. Isn't that something? I was just looking at a bracelet they had in a local store which was almost $300. At the website, its half this price which is what the rest of America is paying. Then I had the bright idea and thought"well, may I just order it online". Nope, if you live in HI, they will screw you no matter what you do because just to order online, you will be hit with $60 shipping fees. Um, what are they shipping, the whole cow? If I ever buy one of their items, it will be shipped to my mom on the mainland who then can ship it to me. Its a hassle but I'm not about to pay more than $160 extra just because I live in HI. That is blatant rip off-you have been warned! FYI, i just checked their shipping fees again-and as of today it is-$40(not 60 anymore) for handbag, and if you are buying accesories, its $20. Still insane. Did I mention that Zappos and Nordstroms have free shipping and returns? Here in HI, we have a Coach outlet store. During this past year, they have been having online outlet sales and sending people here postcards about it. Yeah, you heard me-they have outlet store here and they ship to Hawaii from their regular website but if you want something from outlet online, it aren't gonna happen. I actually called their corporate office and spoke with manager in customer service who told me that they are "working on it" and they have been getting same kind of compaints. To be honest, I don't want to rate even one star. I bought a new wallet 3 days ago, but it had something (not a scratch, I don't know how to call it) on the surface, so I asked to exchange. Since it was the last one they had, so they needed to get one from another store. They said that it would arrive there next day, and they would call me when I could come pick it up. They confirmed that I live in Honolulu and my phone number. Next day, no phone call...the following day no phone call, another following day no phone call. So I went to the store and told them I hadn't got any phone call from them and asked if my new wallet was already there. Another staff brought it and I asked her if they totally forgot to call me, and she said "We don't call tourists, so maybe there was confusion." Wait, they confirmed my address and phone number, and told me many times they would call me. Then, she goes "Oh, then we forgot, I am sorry." I didn't think she was really sorry. She seemed not to know how to say sorry. It really upset me. I have really liked Coach for almost 20 years, but this was the worst service I have got at Coach.
