DO NOT WASTE MONEY ON RIMOWA LUGGAGE! My Rimowa check in cracked on my second trip. Since they have a lifetime guarantee, I took the luggage in for repair at Ala Moana Shopping center Rimowa store in Honolulu. The crack was repaired with some sort of glue and reinforced. The crack is still very visible. I asked to see the before pic because the repaired crack looks longer than the original crack. When I asked to see the original pic that was taken before the repair, they would not send it to me. I have been travelling since I was young and have bought a variety of luggages in my lifetime. NONE OF THEM HAS EVER CRACKED. My luggage not only cracked, it has lots of visible scratches that cannot come out. Why pay thousands of dollars for luggage that gets damaged easily? It's a BAD INVESTMENT. I will never buy RIMOWA luggage again. When they say your luggage is repaired, it really isn't. The crack lines and other marks are still there. I was buying a very special gift for my son and had decided on buying him a piece of Rimowa since he travels a lot for work. This review is for the sales experience and not necessarily the product since I'll have to wait to hear more from my son. Lets just say that the whole experience of purchasing the piece was less that special. And we were waited on by the sales manager. He gave a rather rudimentary demonstration of a couple of pieces, meanwhile I could see the service that the other sales people were giving to other customers and wished we had them instead. I bought the piece my son wanted but even on leaving, there was no sense of personal service that I would have expected. If I purchase another piece, I think I'll try the Waikiki location instead. read more

I never walk into this store when at Ala Moana shopping center. This time was different, I was following my wife. LOL We were greeted by Sayaka a very friendly sales associate. She showed us the aluminum luggage but we wanted something lighter. We opted for the Essential trunk plus and the large check-in luggage. This green color is seasonal so we decided to purchase both. What sold us was the value that we were getting from the lifetime guarantee, smoothness of the wheels, packing space, durability and our sales associate Sayaka's friendliness. On a recent trip my well traveled 14 year old Topas 29" Multiwheel case must have been handled by the gorillas from the Samsonite ad (if you're a bit older you may remember the TV commercial) It wasn't even full - brought it along mostly to carry goodies home from our trip. They must have dropped/slammed it pretty hard on the wheels because one broke clean off from the wheel housing itself. The other housings suffered damage but the wheels at least stayed in place. Damage of that nature had to take some doing. Hopefully Hawaiian Air will take care of that. I filed a claim and am awaiting word from them. That isn't the subject of the review though - it's the Rimowa store in the Ala Moana shopping center. They took excellent care of me even while juggling multiple customers. I was offered a cold drink during the short wait while other customers were taking delivery of their cases. Rimowa Ala Moana ended up replacing all 4 wheel housings but more importantly were able to get it done in very short order. Because of their speedy repair time I didn't have to go around Honolulu looking like a hobo with my clothes tossed into a trash bag carried over my shoulder. The whole customer service experience was excellent. That reminds me - I had a similar experience at the Waikiki Rimowa store years ago. Nothing as drastic as a broken off wheel but an adjustment of a misaligned Topas IATA carry on Multiwheel was taken care of much in the same courteous and expedient manner. I remain a fan. read more

RIMOWA is located in Ala Moana Center near Nordstrom side on the Mall Level. The store is clean and well lit with a lot of luggage on display. They offer carryon to check in luggage along with miscellaneous travel items. I'm not sure on the specifics of why RIMOWA is so good but they are at a good price point for quality luggage. My RIMOWA check in has been good to me and I have no complaints. I was advised that they come with a lifetime manufacturer defective warranty for those who were wondering. The sales person who assisted me on my most recent purchase was Shiping Lian and she was very knowledgeable. Her colleagues working the day I picked up the luggage provided exceptional customer service. The sales person receives a commission so I didn't expect that level of customer service from her colleagues. 5 star service for those two colleagues. Their service was so amazing that it compelled me to review the store. I only wish I got their names. Originally I was planning to purchase the Louis Vuitton carryon luggage but I wasn't a fan of their new handle. It's too wide and I cannot slide my backpack on the handle. Since I just purchased the backpack, I decided to look for another brand so I can get some use out of the backpack. RIMOWA came to mind and I stopped by to see what they had available. I ended up picking up a Hybrid Cabin because it is made with polycarbonate and aluminium-magnesium alloy with two locks. Great brand for luggage and highly recommended. read more

I've always experienced great service here at this Rimowa. All the sales associates are super knowledgeable and kind especially Tyler. He was more than happy to show off some product demonstrations even when I had no intention to purchase said product. As for the store in general, this location is smaller than the one in Waikiki but I think it works in their favor as they are able to pay more attention to each customer and address/ answer any questions or concerns they have about the luggage or other accessories. read more

As a company I'd give Rimowa a 3.5 but this specific store in Waikiki -specifically Kumiko- offers amazing service. I was here a year ago and bought a piece. She remembered me, my name,what I bought and my job and really I had no other interaction with her during the year. They also were great at helping me out in a bind. Unbeknownst to me you, there's a 24-hour time frame you have to file a United Airlines baggage damage claim. First of all, I had better things to do, on my layover. My point is ... why even bother with dealing a claim that could take weeks that United may deny because I called them 48 hours later. I returned home, walked into Rimowa and they fixed it within an hour, no problem. Rimowa has a lifetime guarantee...you would think I'm a salesman. They're just really great at the Ala Moana store. I bought a set of Rimowa luggage as I wanted stylish, functional & lightweight pieces & purchased the Salsa Air in light blue, international carry on & 30" check in bags (the largest size allowed on international flights). These bags are great, beautiful & lightweight so you can pack more items (or purchase items during your travel) without worrying too much about weight as these bags are under 5 lbs each. They've been through a 5 city tour of China & trips to the Bay Area & Tampa. I bought a clear acrylic case from Amazon for the large check in bag to protect from scratches & rough handling from baggage handlers, which has has worked out well. I only have one complaint about the product. The interior zippers are very dainty, probably to keep the bag light, but I brought it back to the store to be repaired twice. I'm not rough with my luggage & try to keep from over stuffing the compartments. They have service warranties which covers the cost of these types of repairs. When TSA in China (city #4 of 5) reset my lock combination, the zippers needed to be cut to access my stuff & I was super upset. I didn't have time to bring my bag to a Rimowa store in China for them to open my bag for me & there would have been a language barrier anyway. Rimowa replaced the lock with a new one. The cost for these stylish bags is high but their service after purchase is very high. Their store staff are very helpful too. read more

Rimowa had excellent service to my husband and I when were worried about our European trip, we were figuring out our airline's strict luggage policy and our sales associate was able to assist us in finding the right size. We were able to go to two different airlines with strict luggage policy easily! I love our Rimowa Essential Cabin S whenever we needed to pack light! Its so handy and easy to use when we walk far, or on cobble stones, or when elevator isn't working and have to take the stairs. On a different trip, we also had medium sized luggages! I got the Trunk luggage and my husband had the Salsa luggage, it was roomy to put our things and was easy to move and navigate. We just have to wrap it in pvc covers since our luggages gets scratched easily. read more

Rimowa is a luggage store based out of Germany. All of their luggage are hard cases. It starts at about $500 for a case. The salesgirl was really helpful. She was explaining all the different cases to me. She said that their suit cases are some of the strongest that you can find. It contains 4-5 layers of polycarbonate. The store is impeccable. First, we've always been a fan of the Rimowa product. We love our two Rimowa suitcases, which have been on many adventures with us. This review is is about Rimowa Honolulu, Ala Moana store location. We fly to the mainland frequently. A couple weeks ago we discovered that one of the locks on our large Rimowa was a bit fussy with regard to unlocking and opening. Not wanting to experience an issue while away, we took the suitcase to the Rimowa Ala Moana location. The experience was well and above what we anticipated. We were warmly greeted at the door by Chantal, who we later learned is the manager of both Rimowa Honolulu locations. Chantal asked us how she could assist us. We explained the lock issue, also informing her that we had no purchase paperwork, we had bought the suitcase in Germany a couple years prior. Not a problem was her gracious response. Chantal inspected the suitcase, documenting what she found, and said that she would be in touch when the lock was repaired. Friendly goodbyes, and we were on our way home. Approximately one week later, Chantal called us to inform us the suitcase was ready for pickup. Upon arrival at the store, another warm greeting, and she went in the back to retrieve the suitcase. She then informed us that not only was the one "cranky" lock replaced, both locks were replaced, and set to our original combinations. Additionally, she had asked the technician to realign the suitcase....... something we didn't even know was an issue. And finally, the recessed luggage strap, now discontinued, had fallen off because of rough handling on our first trip out with the suitcase. Somehow one was located, and it was replaced. What a surprise....... So our review is multi tiered. First, the Rimowa representative, Chantal, truly the kind of caring person one wants when representing a high end product. And, the care and servicing of the product, post purchase. All around, we are very happy clients. read more

I asked for the price of a specific Rimowa to 1 of the 4 Employees there and they say they will get to me without any sense of care to engage with me or ask what I am looking for. After 10 minutes of waiting I explain to them that this is horrible customer service and unacceptable...instead of offering to finally help all they say is ooo ok. WHO trained these employees??? A disaster of an experience that turned me from a very likely customer to wanting to shop elsewhere. On 10/6/15 at 8:15pm I walked into the Ala Moana Rimowa store to get a little more information & possibly purchase luggage that would best fit my needs. After walking through the store, A middle aged (30's) salesman (possibly Chinese) walked over & basically did the the bare minimum. I asked a question about a black suitcase and he just stood there & said its upstairs & kept staring at me. I felt like I was bothering him by asking questions about size and colors. Being that the store did not have any other customers, I thought he would have been happy to help. Rimowa has a great product so I will be making my purchase at the Waikiki store. wow, is really all I can say about the service at Rimowa Ala Moana, I took my Rimowa suitcase in to get a handle replaced/repaired that got ripped off by the airline baggage people, immediately the situation was assessed and quickly put into the system. A very kind man named Micah told me he would call me and let me know as soon as he knew if they had the part. Not joking within 5 hours Micah called me back and told me had repaired the bag and also replaced some pieces that were getting worn, but the cherry on the cupcake was when he told ne he was cleaning my bag and removing all those annoying gummy airline stickers. I would highly recommend buying a suitcase here as the service is great even years after you have had your luggage. Great work read more
