I ordered some shirts online and needed to exchange one of them for a smaller size. I called Pearlridge and the sweet girl looked for my size in the store but they were out. She checked other stores and told me Ala Moana and Haleiwa had my size. She was so helpful and sweet. I told her I will call Ala Moana. I called Ala Moana and the girl who answered was another helpful and sweet worker. She took my name and number and I told her I would go in on Thursday to exchange it. She said to make sure the tag was on the shirt. I went to the Ala Moana store today (07/10/25) at about 12:30pm and the customer service from the young lady was also great! She found the shirt for me and exchanged it with no issues. I'm so happy to have the correct size!! I just thought your workers at both Pearlridge and Ala Moana should be recognized for their outstanding customer service. Good customer service is truly RARE these days so I was especially grateful for a smooth exchange process. read more

I was super excited to participate in my first Fukubukuro. I got to T&C around 11:40 AM. I waited on line maybe about 20 minutes before getting into the store. By that time they were running low on women's grab bags. I want to say they probably had maybe 40 bags left in different sizes between women's bags (sizes xs through xl) and girls bags. I found three bags left in my size. Great! So I grabbed two bags that were physically different sizes (one bag was a bit smaller than the other so I figured it would mix up what was inside) and an accessories bag. When I got home and opened up the two women's bags, they were exactly the same minus one item each. One bag had an extra T-shirt and one had a towel. Besides that, all other items were exactly the same. I was surprised there wasn't more clothing in the bags too because they labeled them by size but the bags only have one clothing item in them, maybe two. Which would have been fine if the items inside were varied. I was overwhelmingly disappointed because they kept saying on repeat there were 1800 bags made for the event. It seems like they did not do any diversification based the items I received. For the grab bags themselves I even tried to pick different sized bags as mentioned above to try and mix it up but again they were exactly the same items besides 1 in each bag. For my first experience with the store, this was an absolute letdown and leaves a sour feeling all together. read more

I came here to get a new Hydro Flask. There weren't too many left. They had a lot of the ones with the T&C Designs on it, but I just wanted a plain one. It turns out that they were running a special on the plain flasks. It came with a free skin. That would explain the depleted inventory. I always buy the skin to protect the bottle, so I was super happy to get a free skin. The skins were also limited. They only had green, pink, purple and gray left. An associate came by and asked if I needed any help. I asked about the promotion and he told me about the skins that would fit my bottle. I wanted a black skin, but he said that they were out. He told me that they had four colors left, right behind the register and that I could take a look. I appreciated that, so that I didn't have to waste my time looking for a black one that they didn't have. Check out was fast and easy. They rang my bottle and free skin. They had me sign the back of the receipt acknowledging that the bottle was in perfect condition. I was on my way after that. read more

T&C is a popular store on the second floor of the Ala Moana Shopping Center. It is locally owned which makes me happy to patronize it! Besides their unique t-shirts, they have all sorts of merchandise! My daughters especially like their T&C designed Yeti Thermos! The designs are so pretty with flowers and yet local ones with spam musubi and honus (turtles) ! Whenever they come home for the holidays, they buy new ones even though their old ones (last years) are still good! Also, they're reasonably priced. This location was kept very neat and had a good selection. On our visit they had a promotion for their T&C branded items - I love that with their promotions they let you mix-and-match and they have a good variety it's not like just because it's on sale you can only pick among two or three things there were so many things that qualified for their promotion. The folks here really friendly and try to offer as help finding sizes or locating other items that would also work with the offer that we were looking at, all the while giving a space to shop they weren't hovering too much. I went into this shop last week specifically to buy a surfboard sock. Note that I have frequently bought surfboards, fins & gear/accessories over the past 30 years, including from this store. I have nothing against this brand, or this specific location; just the middle aged male staff member who would not stop mansplaining long enough to listen to me. Whenever I tried to contradict his assumptions about what I was shopping for, he would talk over me. It was like he was trying to talk me out of buying what I specifically came in for, and talk me into buying something cheaper and that I already own. I told him I already owned the product he was trying to push me toward. (I am a 58 year old, female, local surfer. He was about the same age & also local.) In the end, I left frustrated & not heard, and ended up going 2 stores down to buy my boardsock. To the management (or the staff member himself if he is the manager) please train your staff with the number 1 rule of sales: "listen to your customer", and don't assume you know more about what they need, when they are telling you exactly what they need. P.S. this store has a great assortment of apparel & products. I've never had an issue at this location before. read more

Bought a gift on 12-23 and came in today to refund it (6 days later). CIBI the male clerk at the front said that he would give me a store credit--the receipt states that items in original condition will be refunded to the original means of purchasing. I went to the adjacent register to complain and said that it should have been refunded to the original card, not store credit. "Taylor" rolled her eyes at me rudely and did finally refund it and told me not to take pics of the employee and I stated that I was taking pictures of the merchandise. What a rude, rude way to treat a customer with a receipt and to try to scam the customer into a store credit instead of a refund. These clerks need to be retrained. "Taylor" (receipt name) said that she was the head cashier and trains the others. HMMMMM. I know that retail wants to keep the revenues in house to end the Christmas season, but they need to observe the rules that are printed on the receipts. All in all time is money and they spent an extra 15 minutes reversing the store credit and giving a refund. Management--think about this as not only a productivity killer but a goodwill, customer relations killer. read more

I went in there wanting to kill time while waiting for my husband to take care of business at the phone store. As I was browsing through the cute shirts, Ronya greeted me and asked if I needed anything. I asked her few questions and started to converse. We just hut it off and she was just warm and so helpful. Normally, I prefer to be left alone to shop unless I needed something then I'll look for an associate. I love the prints on the t-shirts and enjoy shopping there. Love their selection of shirts. One of my favorite shops at Ala Moana. The staff is very friendly and they were a lot of help when I was looking for some items. Even when I had to wait a whole 2 seconds for an open register, they were apologetic when they didn't need to be. I actually got rung up pretty quickly, even after I was undecided on an item and was hemming and hawing over some stuff. They were super patient with me while I was trying to decide. When I go back to Hawaii, I definitely will be coming back here. I wish more employees in the mainland showed this much Aloha, then I wouldn't be so frustrated about going out shopping. read more

Classic Surf Shop. I first heard of this place when I was 8 from Nintendo's T & C surf design video game. First time actually going to one was in Hawaii. Surf, Skate, beach, Accessories, and their own branded merchandise. They have a great selection of clothing and boards. Last time I was here I grabbed a New Years Fukuburuko bag with some great merchandise. You can easily find locations all over Oahu but I find this one might be carrying more stuff. I have been a loyal customer of T&C for the past 40 years. I have had some problems with receiving items on time, but this has been horrible. My order shows that it is ready to ship but this was around the 3rd of June. I have had no updates since the 6th of June I have reached out to customer service on multiple times, but after today I was basically told it was now my responsibility to contact and file a claim with USPS. But when I tried to file a claim it showed that my postage did not qualify for a refund. I spent over $150 and I guess I will just loose my money.This will be my last purchase from T&C read more

Looking for some cool surf gear? (T&C) - Town & Country Surf Designs certainly has it all, and I'm glad they are still around providing island surf wear for all who love the surf lifestyle. Need some cool surf shorts, or t-shirts? Yup! They got it here! Watches, hats, slippahs, or sunglasses? Yup! They got that too! Hydro Flask? Wow! That's something new that I didn't know they sold here! A lot has changed through the years as far as surf gear selection, as well as the quality of the items. As a kid, I had a lot of surf gear mainly from - Local Motion, Quiksilver, Sera's Surf n' Shore, HIC, & of course Town & Country. Do I have a favorite? No, not really.........but what I have noticed recently was the very cool print designs that Town & Country Surf Designs have been cranking out for their t-shirts which compelled me to come here today to buy a t-shirt. The t-shirts have certainly gotten more expensive through the years (I paid $22.00 for one t-shirt), but of course I cannot compare the pricing of a t-shirt I bought 30+ years ago........... Glad that T&C is still around............I must say that they certainly got more "commercialized" through the years, as compared to their humble beginnings............but of course with any business, you always have to evolve, otherwise the business can get stale. read more

I remember coming to this store when I was in high school to buy slippers. It hasn't changed in 10+ years. They still sell surf brand apparel and other merch and T & C brand T-shirts that are still pretty cute. They have the best selection of hydroflasks, too. The people working here are still young looking and seem pretty uninterested in customer service, but whatevers. I came in to get a yeti because I saw that customers on amazon we're sold fakes. It was pretty hilarious that the yetis had sensors on them. I guess people were stealing them. I mean at $50 each, they're pretty expensive. But I'm fed up with hydroflasks and have converted to yeti. They guy who rang me up told me to check my yeti for dents before he sold it to me. He wasn't nice about it. I'd recommend the kahala store instead. The T & C workers at kahala seem a lot happier and are much friendlier. read more

Town & Country (T&C) brings back warm memories of the inauspicious beginnings of this brand. I remember going to the original shack in Pearl City and buying boardshorts and t-shirts before surfwear became so commercialized. The name stems from Pearl City being in the center of the island: You go south to Town (Honolulu), and you go over the mountains and you are in the Country (Hale'iwa). On this latest visit I bought a t-shirt w/ their original logo. I was even more stoked when I found out buy two, get 1/2 off the second one. It worked out to $15/shirt which I thought was a good deal. T&C is a must stop for me when I come home. I love the unique prints you can only get in Hawaii. read more

Awesome stock. Awful customer service. Workers at HIC are a lot nicer and I'd rather leave my money there. Customer service is very low quality. I'm referring to the girls working at the register, the girl at the front was very nice. One of the girls was very rude about a defective product. It seems like they care about a couple bucks more than a loyal customer. I've worked in retail myself at major malls and people would get fired for that kind of behavior. These ladies are wonderful! A friend told me about this shop shortly before Christmas and they had exactly what I was looking for. It was already pretty late in the season (Dec 17th) so I called the shop first to see if they could give me a delivery estimate. The 1st girl I talked to wasn't sure but she put me in direct contact with another woman. I got a call back in less than an hour with a confirmation that it would get here before Christmas. I placed my order and it was processed and shipped within 20 minutes! These girls really know how to hustle. My box arrived in California on Dec 23. Very happy with the whole experience. He had the shade that I want in his car and he went to his car to bring it in store for me to try it out before purchasing the sealed one in store. Got myself a new teal hydro flask cuz I lost my white one:( these are the new kind of hydro flask. Just came in and it cost $43.00. I was like omg the normal one cost way cheaper$35.00. But I liked the color so I bought it and a Aloha HI sticker for my hydro flask. I don't like my hydro flask to look plan so I added a sticker to it. I wanted help at first but no one was there to help me:( I wanted to ask about the hydro flask but instead I just bought a random on. 5 stars for friendly and helpful customer service! My two children and I went looking for a kids' Hydro Flask in a certain color this morning. They didn't seem to have any on display so I asked if it would be coming back in stock again. The employee asked if I wanted him to check the other locations and he found them in stock at the Pearlridge store and gave me the option of having them hold it there for me or having it delivered to the Ala Moana store for pickup. The phone call to the Pearlridge store took a little longer that we expected but he was apologetic about the wait and came back to us with multiple updates while he was also waiting on the phone. In hindsight, I wish I would have asked for him name to give him a proper thank you here on Yelp but I'm sure he'll know who he is if he sees this. Thank you for your help today. This has been my go-to shop to buy T-shirts and shorts for years. Living on Maui, I can't get T&C apparel here, so I usually buy at least three or four T-shirts on every Oahu trip, especially when there's usually some kind of sale on them, like buy one, get on 50% off. This last trip, we ended up with four T-shirts, a pair of shorts, a pair of slippers, and three Hydroflasks, two with the exclusive T&C designs on them. I'm surprised by some of the negative reviews regarding customer service, as I've found the T&C employees very friendly and helpful when I need to try something on. I'll definitely be back to buy more apparel to fill my closet. read more
