Aloha! For the past…read more12 years, my husband and I have spent the month of January in Oahu. In fact, we stay next door to the former location of Pualani Hawaii Beachwear. One of the first things on my agenda, is to visit the shop and find the perfect suit. I always look forward to seeing what the current year will bring and have never been disappointed! Well, imagine my disappointment this year when I went over to the old location only to see the Pualani of past, gone! Yikes! Thanks to Google, I was overjoyed to see that the NEW location was just about to open up. My daily walk was adjusted to take me there! I arrived during the time they were getting the shop ready for opening day. Iwalani greeted me along with her husband Gordon. While this was the first time I had met them, I was invited in . I couldn't have been treated any better and was thrilled to be able to take a look around even though they hadn't officially opened! I received a first hand account of the history of the company in great detail. I was invited to the grand opening as well. I went to the the opening and had a blast. Even the conch shell sounding and blessing were very special. I still have and wear my first suits from 12 years ago and they still look fantastic. My favorite top is the "Sport Tie". It's great for my daily swim and the bikini bottoms never lose their shape. The quality, style and fantastic customer service is simply unparalleled. They have such a large selection of beautiful colors, styles and patterns that it can be hard to make your final selection. Iwalani has such a great eye for color and really was a great help when I needed to make a final decision on which suits to take home this trip. I've also fallen in love with the skirts and "yogini" tops. The material is so soft and comfortable. I encourage everyone looking for a suit or accompanying wear to go visit Iwalani, Kaz, Mimi and the wonderful team at Pualani. Enjoy a fun and rewarding experience. They make looking for a bikini more fun than you would ever imagine. I only wish everyone associated with the store continued success. They are all so very special. The store was new to us, as it wasn't there when we were last vacationing in Feb 2019 I stopped in after catching sight of a little girls cheetah print reversible one piece bathing suit hanging inside the store. My almost 7 year old daughter tried it on and she LOVED it. Check! Interestingly enough, in the dressing room were some items that looked like they would fit me, including a pair of Stillwater high waisted loose white pants and this killer top by Peixoto that had poofy arms and an open back in a stunning marigold color. The Clara top, it was called. I tried them on, they fit perfect and I HAD to buy them. So I did. Who knew leaving clothes in a dressing room could work out for another potential patron Maybe it's a new sales tactic (if it wasn't already done purposefully). I returned later the next evening to see if there were other suits for my daughter and the sales woman was so lovely. I showed off my new wears from the night before and she told me how the skirt to match the top was to die for and it wasn't at the store but could be found online. I found it later that night from the Peixoto website and ordered it. Thank you Apple Pay. So, in summation, sending along love and gratitude for your beautiful store, well selected items for purchase, and your terrific, on point staff. Plus I noticed you have the roll-on perfumes and candles from Maison Louis Marie, of which their sandlewood scent (the Bois du Bourgeois) I actually brought with me to Oahu. I only returned items because their sizing chart was so inaccurate. Then they rejected my return over a tiny mark even though the bottoms were only briefly tried on indoors. I paid around $65 and was told on April 3 that the item would be sent back to me if the return was denied. It is now mid-May and I still have not received the item, a refund, or even a follow-up email. Their customer service has been awful throughout this entire process. At this point I feel like I paid for something I don't even have. Between the inaccurate sizing, rejected return, lack of communication, and failure to send my item back, this has been one of the worst online shopping experiences I've had.
