After searching Yelp for best restaurants we decided on Cloud 9, best choice ever!!! We had seafood stew, scallops and mac n cheese between the three of us and they were all equally delish!!! Rae was our server and she was so very sweet and her food recommendations were spot on. We typically don't care for the restaurants that are part of a hotel, but Cloud 9 was a pleasant surprise! My husband and I met friends for the Christmas Day brunch and were very impressed. Huge variety of dishes that were quite tasty! Staff kept the buffet line in good shape and did not allow any food items to run out. Staff in the dining room were friendly and attentive. Awesome selection of items that will please even the most picky of eaters. GREAT holiday event and I'm told that the regular Sunday brunch is almost as good! read more

I drove up from Brunswick to take my son to brunch a few weeks ago. We were especially excited about the prime rib and seafood newburgh. Although there was an hour left for brunch, they were out of both. So we had routine omelettes and some yummy desserts. Although those were good, the overall $60 bill (just food and no bloodies or mimosas) was a shocker given we couldn't enjoy what we came for. Wrote them about it and they never responded. Cloud 9 is waaaay too expensive for the food you good. I do admit, the food is good - but paying close to $30 for a salmon salad and a diet coke was ridiculous. The only reason why I ate here was because I was staying at the Senator Inn - which is equally overrated. We went this past Sunday for brunch with friends. The food and service were excellent. Everything fresh etc, although it's the only brunch I've ever been too that won't fry me eggs at the omelet station, odd! I work on the road and I found myself in Augusta at lunchtime Monday. I knew Janet had an appointment in Augusta so I texted to see if she wanted meet for lunch. The day before was so good we decided to hit the Senator again. First off, the server was great! Food was cold and burnt at the same time on the lunch buffet. Sparse in quantity, salad bar was small although fresh. Desert included appeared to be bite sized orders left from the day before. I stopped by the restaurant with my wife on a date night. The chairs were very uncomfortable. We both ordered the seafood melody. I ordered mine with the white wine and dill and my wife had herb butter sauce. Both of our sauces were great. We loved them but the all of the seafood was over cooked and not much of it. Our salmon pieces was no bigger than 1" by 3" and were very dry. My 2 scallops and my 2 shrimp were ok. My crab cake tasted very good but a little dry. Cloud 9 was by far my favorite place to eat while staying in Maine. This place offered some of the best seafood I have ever had. I had their sea food combo which included fresh Maine oysters, lobster, shrimp and mussels which came with all sorts of dipping sauces. They also had a killer salad buffet and $3 draft beers what else isn't to like? The only downfall to this place is the decor is lost in the 80s but I guess that kinda matches the hotel vibe of the Senator Inn as well as the whole town of Augusta. read more

We ate breakfast here when staying at the senator. We decided to order pancakes and French toast instead of getting the free breakfast. It was ok. My French toast didn't have that much flavor and was barely warm. They served cold syrup with the pancakes. The waitress was very friendly but never asked my husband if he wanted more coffee. Don't think we would eat there again or at least pay for the breakfast. read more

Stayed at the inn, the breakfast buffet was pretty decent. Amazing macaroon muffins. Chocolate chip pancakes were delicious and chock a block with chocolate. The price was a little higher than other places in the area but still very reasonable to the New York prices I am used to. read more

This place was recommended to me and for my first meal since arriving in Maine, it was great. It opens early on Sundays, which was necessary. I ordered the crab & lobster omelette and it was perfect. The decor was strange. The bread was awful. The crab dip was good. I had the seafood Alfredo and I regret that. It was swimming in the Alfredo sauce and made it unappetizing. I could not taste the seafood in it due to the sauce and made it too heavy. read more

I've had meals here on and off for twenty years and it's always impeccable. Perfectly cooked rare and medium rare beef tenderloins with flavorful mushroom bernaise on the side. with shrimp and seafood stuffing that was as tasty as I've had anywhere. Fluffy garlic mashed potatoes and just-tender asparagus. If your a chocolate fan, try the chocolate cream pie. I almost swooned at first bite. Service was outstanding. read more

We stayed at Senator for a 2 day New Year's Eve getaway with a friend. The morning of our departure (1/2) we had breakfast at Cloud 9, before heading out. We had the pleasure of meeting Karen (our server), and she was a ray of sunshine - genuinely happy to be there. She was an exemplary server, and kept us laughing through our entire visit. I enjoyed my spinach, mushroom, artichoke Benedict. Looking forward to trying the Sunday Brunch on our next trip - Karen highly recommended it. :) Terrific dining experience in a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment. My companions weren't overly impressed by the breakfast buffet - they'll order from the tasty menu next time. We hope Karen is working during our next trip in the Spring 2014! read more

Don't waste your money! I went here last Tuesday and ordered the surf and turf (filet mignon and lobster claws). I asked for the steak medium rare, but it came out medium well, even closer to well done honestly. I informed the waitress and she agreed that it was over cooked and offered to send it back. I declined because I was dining with someone else and it would be awkward to sit there and watch her eat while I wait for another meal to be prepared. When the bill came I thought there would be a discount because I was served a piece of steak that was basically ruined, but they charged me full price $33 dollars which is absolutely outrageous in my opinion. To top it all off, we both ordered adult beverages, and they way over poured! It was almost like drinking straight from the bottle with maybe a couple drops of juice. I will not be going back nor would I recommend this place to friends or family. read more

Very good food. Accommodating with the menu. I stayed at the hotel and ordered room service and they were willing to put items on the brick oven pizza from the menu but not listed as pizza toppings. The sunday brunch is pricey but good and extensive. The only bad experience was with a new years package deal that included a buffet. The new years buffet was not great, hot things cool and cold things were warm. Staff not too caring as it was the holiday, but other than that place it great though pricey. Oh, and I wish the spa stayed open past 9pm. read more

We were in town for an overnight stay, and looking for great seafood. Our hotel front desk clerk suggested Cloud 9 as a great place to get Lobster. So 6 of us went, and all 6 were terribly disappointed in the service, quality of food, and timeliness. After placing our drink / appetizer order it was 20 minutes before the waitress returned to get the entree selections. 40 minutes later, the food had still not shown up and we began to question the wait staff. 15 minutes later the meals were delivered. Two of the 6 meals, the food was at room temperature including baked potatoes. 3 of us had lobster and they were not impressive for the price charged. I guess we expected more from a restaurant at that price point. read more

My sister and I went on Friday 6/22 and were seated immediately. Then we were ignored. We weren't even asked if we would like something to drink. We sat there for about 15 minutes watching everyone around us get attention while not so much as giving us eye contact. We got up and left without even a second glance. Just had lunch with 4 others at Cloud 9. Very sweet interior. Happy atmosphere. Waitress was friendly and attentive. The food was very fresh and quite good. I LOVE not having to pick through a salad for bad greens. The Ceasar dressing was nice and light with a lemony aftertaste. Salmon salad was beautiful. My friends also had the fettuccine alfredo, lobster roll and Senator club. Everyone enjoyed their meals very much. I wish they had more fresh veggies on their salad bar. read more

We had dinner here last night and we really enjoyed ourselves. The decor is nice, we were greeted and seated promptly, and our server (Hollie) was great. I had the crab cakes with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus and my wife had the baked scallops with asparagus and rice pilaf. Both dishes were cooked well and the scallops had a nice spicy kick. My one negative comment would be the mashed potatoes were a little dry and the asparagus bland, but the stars of the dishes were quite good. Also, they have a nice cocktail collection and we both enjoyed our cosmopolitans. All in all a very good experience! read more

You can get a homemade burger to lobster ravioli. they have a great raw bar and super shrim cocktails. buffet brunch on sunday know complimentary bloody mary;s and mimosas. The brunch is incredible.
