Stopped a few weeks back, definitely wanted to leave a review. From the truck toting sign I. The parking lot to the classic 1950s dining room tables I side this place is right up my alley!! Friendly staff, well maintained, and the food is delicious. Breakfast for lunch, how could one go wrong!! Went with an omlett and it was chuck full!! I got grilled bread, the waitress asked and I was like "sure", this was the best part of the meal!!! I dont want "toast" any other way!!! If you are in the area stop!! read more

This was my second visit to Flatlanda during our visit in ME with my party of four. It's a little country diner with a homey atmosphere & even has a little thrift store attached. (Hello, you had me at thrift shop!) I ordered the Two's breakfast - 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage & baked beans - wow, that was a lot! But, I was able to finish it all except for one pancake. The staff were very friendly & accommodating. I asked one waitress if they had real maple syrup, I usually don't order pancakes unless it's available but I forgot to ask first. She told me no - they sometimes have it but they were all out. Another waitress came with our food, & we asked her, relaying what the firsts waitress had told us - to which she replied, "oh I think I can find some somewhere". She came back with an almost empty bottle but plenty for my one pancake! Prices were very reasonable and everyone was pleased with their meals - "some good food" was my husband's remark! I loved it! Just arrived in the area, and this was our go to for an early morning breakfast treat before we headed to our off grid cabin for a few nights. As soon as I walked it, I loved the ambiance. Very fun, light and friendly. I decided I wanted to try something I'd never really had before - sausage gravy and biscuits. OMG, if there was no one looking, I would've slurped up every bit of that gravy. It just hit the spot and it wasn't overly salty. The biscuits were hefty and soft and buttery. We loved it so much, we tried to stop in on our way back to Portland but sad face, it wasn't open on a Monday. read more

This little diner is awesome. Friendly staff and quick service. Breakfast was very tasty. Eggs, toast, and home fries are great. And the pancakes are huge and delicious. I think they have cornmeal in them or something like that. It's everything you want a mom and pop diner to be. It has so much character inside and out. License plates from all over the country and some Canadian provinces all over the walls. The sign out front said, "you either like bacon or your wrong." This is one of my favorite places! My husband & I go at least 5 times a month and have never been disappointed. The owner is a delight..so are all the staff. The prices are reasonable (breakfast for two is typically under $20) yet the portions are huge!! I would suggest trying the specials at least once--you can't go wrong. This is honestly my favorite place to stop for breakfast on our way to camp. They boys always have eggs etc and they say it's definitely delicious. I however hate eggs, so I always have a blueberry pancake. Note that I said "a". The pancakes are huge!!! I always get a side order of bacon which is enough for a small army. Home fries are yummy. I wish the corned beef hash was homemade, but it's still good. Love this place!! Can't wait to eat here again. You honestly won't be disappointed! Prices are exactly what they should be and service is always great. Just wish they were closer to home instead of on route to camp. Atmosphere was great it really had potential ! Our Waitress did NOT want to be there, l get it. It wasn't overly busy, we had missed the morning rush. I ordered an omelette and specifically asked for no bacon in anything. My Omelette was jammed packed with bacon. Grrrr. I ate home fries and drank my Orange Juice. If you are concerned about eating inside a restaurant during a pandemic then you certainly would want to avoid Flatlanda's in Fairfield. I am one of a group of eight men who have been getting together at Flatlanda's one morning a week for several years for breakfast except for the year during the first wave of the pandemic. We returned during the State's mask mandate in the spring of 2021 when all of us were vaccinated and when the mandate was lifted we expressed concern to the owner that the unvaccinated wait staff was not still wearing masks. She responded by saying that we were making her wait staff uncomfortable and we were no longer welcome at her restaurant. "We are all Republicans. This is a blue collar restaurant," she explained. Apparently she was pleasing her staff at the expense of promoting public health as well as showing consideration to her regular customers who have been patronizing her restaurant for years. As there are many more restaurant choices in the area I would recommend eating elsewhere, especially those offering the safety option of outdoor dining. Flatlanda's does not. read more

Just like the sign says on the window outside this diner, we arrived as strangers and left as friends. The two ladies on duty were so kind and sweet. It was also one of the cleanest restaurant's I have ever seen. The decor was so tastefully done and had a great farmhouse feel. The food was delicious and so fresh. Three in our party had breakfast and one had lunch and all if us enjoyed our meals. I started to order 3 pancakes until they advised me how big they were....I changed it to 2 instead. Stumbled across this place with my kids while driving back from a week camping in Acadia. So glad we stopped. The two ladies running the floor were friendly with just the right amount of sass - and the food was quite good too! My friends and I ate here a couple of weeks ago. We had only been in Maine for two days after driving all the way from Sacramento, CA, and were really impressed with how welcoming and friendly the ladies were. We all enjoyed our food tremendously, and finished off by sharing the highly recommended bread pudding, which was phenomenal. We asked if there was anything we just had to see while we were visiting Maine, and our lovely waitress suggested that we couldn't miss Acadia National Park this time of year. Thank you so much for your suggestion, if you're reading this; it was well worth the hour drive! First off, I think you have to have a sliding scale for stars rating. This is a diner. And as a diner, the food is honest home style cooking, good value and better than you expect. That's 4 stars. 3 stars means average and this doesn't seem like an average diner. I had the hamburger and it was truly excellent. Beautiful char, moist in the middle, proper bun, flavorful toppings. The worst meal I have ever had!!! I used to go here often until recently. I went with a 's only member. I was told I could get the chicken. About 20 minutes later the waitress comes over and says that don't turn the fryer on for another 45 minutes but I can wait. At that point I said forget it and I got a wrap along with the person I was with. The person I was with wrap was all tough and hard around the edges. The owner comes over and asks how it was. We talk her about the wrap being old and she gets very defensive and says she doesn't understand. We explain that is old and that is why it is hard around the edges and why it wasn't eaten. She still acts like she doesn't understand. At this point we say forget it and she acts rude and just says oh well I guess I will take it off your bill. We will never go back... read more
