The diner has a vast selection of food and drinks. It is easily located just off the highway a mile or so west of Annandale, and us open 24/7. I stopped at this diner on the way back from Crayola Factory with my 2 children. The train car is what attracted us to this diner, plus I heard previous positive reviews. Upon entering, it looks like any other diner but with added features. There are so many desserts to chose from by the register, bar area, dining room, salad bar and then the train car seating. We luckily were able to sit in the train car (my kids request) and it was quite cute but a little humid and musty (it was raining outside). Our server was nice but seemed to be a bit irritated by kids. The menu is EXTENSIVE but I read some reviews prior and chose to order a burger since they are "famous" for their worlds largest and smallest burgers. My children ordered a kids pizza and chicken fingers/French fries. The blue cheese burger was good, a great amount of blue cheese added and crumbled bacon. I got a side of blue cheese dressing because without it, it was kind of dry. The fries are handmade and tasted fresh. The kids pizza looked handmade, "deep dish" and had a good cheese pull. Breakfast service and food was amazing with the day shift. Ambiance was great; love the hanging lamps. Then we went back for dinner. Queue Beethoven's 5th...Salad was good. Turkey burger was awful. It made me understand why people don't like turkey burgers. Zero seasoning. Zero. With turkey, you have to double the seasoning...yet, there was not even one grain of salt. The fries were baked with no oil or salt, so they were tasteless and brown potato sticks. I never leave fries on the table. It's my main food group. I ate 2. Moussaka wasn't recognizable and tasted worse. It was two pounds of beef with a slice of eggplant and mashed potatoes and cheese on top. Per Google: "Moussaka is a traditional Greek eggplant casserole made with baked or pan fried eggplants (aubergines) and potatoes, a rich, tomatoey beef or lamb mince sauce and topped off with a deliciously creamy bechamel sauce." We had a party of 4 on a Saturday night. First impression was that the dining room was dirty, and the salad bar was messy. The food was flavorless, which you wouldn't expect for the prices. Almost $14 for 6 mozzarella sticks! My son's barrel burger was on the menu for $22 and when I questioned the $26 charge on my bill, was told that the extra $4 was because he asked for fries. If you're going to charge $22 for 2 flavorless patties, a slice of cheese, and literally 1 slice of bacon, I would expect the LTO and fries to be included in the price - it's a 24 hour diner, not a high end restaurant. I always have a good experience here. The waitstaff make it easy to come back again and again. The food is your typical diner food, BUT there is a bakery somewhere in the back that is continuously pumping out delicious desserts and breads. The restaurant is nice, I just wish they would do a better job of cleaning tables once the customers leave. I sat in an area that had 4 dirty tables around me that went unnoticed for 30 min, nearly the entirety on my breakfast, I shouldn't have to look at that while I'm trying to digest my eggs. Don't spend your money on high priced items. The veal was cut so thin it was all bread crumbs and impossible to cut, $30.00 for a plate of bread rumbs. The whole dish was so overcooked it was not funny. The pasta the same way, instead of tasting like pasta it was basically mush! Had the employee sit down and attempt to cut the veal and they were even suprised that they couldn't even cut it with a steak knife. The guy in the table right next to us, bought a $39.00 steak and was complaining the whole time that it was burnt and tough to cut. The place is run down and old, and its obvious the owner is to cheap to change things, or do minor work. The parking lot is a joke, entering the parkling lot, you have to go really slow because the way they marked the parking spots, you'll get hit by someone backing out and you have to response, you can barely drive through the parking lot without watching for someone to hit you from the side as they pull out. read more

Three retiree friends ate there yesterday and we have eaten there many times before. There was a bus that was there so many more people than usual but the food was below sub par. Ordered a BLT. The bread was stale and fell apart while eating; the bacon was bacon "crumbles", not slices; the tomato was little wedges not slices - overall not very good. My friends chicken salad sandwich was the same regarding the bread. Was going to send it back but it took over 25 minutes to receive the order and did not want to wait any longer. 7/29/24 - Came here for dinner about 7pm after flying in to Newark Airport and then driving to Bethlehem PA for a corporate work visit/training. Got seated promptly and it was not busy. This is when it all went downhill. Asked the waiter what food specialties were they known for as I was from out of town and they have a large menu. This seem to throw him off. He just started saying he was new (6 weeks on the job) and said it seemed like people mostly got burgers. Seemed sort of limited response but I went with it. But to order a burger, with cheddar cheese, fries and a side of onion rings seem to take forever as there was definitely a language barrier. I asked about getting a salad as well but I gave up on it after he basically talked me out of it for some reason. After I got the burger, it came with no sauces which was ok but when I asked for mustard and mayo again this threw him off. He wanted to take it back to the kitchen and I kept telling him just to bring the bottles to the table so I could do it myself like the ketchup bottle on the table. After 5 minutes he finally did this. Then I got basically no service after that unless I flagged him down. I did ask for another server that could speak better English but never got one as he just wanted to do the serving. Never again will I come here. read more

This was a great diner that we visited many times and had bragged about to family and friends. This last time was extremely disappointing. A breakfast cheese omelet with side of bacon was definitely not up to par as compared to past visits. The bacon was rubbery probably previously cooked and reheated sever times, the onion had tough outer layers, the toast was tasteless, the fruit wasn't ripe and the coffee was terrible (tasted old and over brewed). The bathrooms were dirty and had broken toilets. The garbage pails were full and discusting, the stall door locks were broken, there was no soap the dispensers and the front doors and handles were grimy and dirty. Completely unacceptable. The pastries in the display case looked old and unappetizing. This was our place of choice when traveling to/from NY. Not anymore! Didn't mind the prices when it was in better shape with better food. I don't know if it changed owners or someone else is running it now, but I would NOT recommend this diner anymore, I give it a D minus at best. read more

We have not been here in quite sometime. This visit was on 9/5. The last time we were there I said I wasn't pleased but gave the benefit to the doubt. When we first walked in everything looked a mess and even looked dirty. Some of the staff had no idea on what the were supposed to be doing. Our waitress was a nice girl but some of the other staff seemed rude. Our food was horrible. My husband's burger was so burnt and like leather...my open face turkey was so dry even the gravy did not help. I don't send food back as you never know what they do to it in the back. Salad bar was ok....things did need to be refilled....they were not busy at all....maybe 20 customers if lucky including us. This place has definitely went downhill over the past few years. Then we get the bill...a bit pricey for the food. Went out to pay and got cookies to go and then when on our way home I realized I got charged for a full dozen of cookies and not the half dozen purchased. Don't think we will be going back there. This was the first time I've eaten at the diner in several years. Lunch today was supposed to be a treat for myself & my daughter. We were so disappointed by the service we received. Our waiter barely paid any attention to us. My daughter's soup never arrived so he brought it after the rest of the meal was served. We never saw him again. Popular spot judging by the crowd July 4th. Diner food - huge menu. The Rueben was generous though light on the Russian dressing. Served open faced so knife and fork required. (Prefer to pick up as sandwich so there is that.). Hubby had the burger - again served open faced and impossible to eat like, well- a burger. Neither of us finished our meals. Went a few weeks ago with family. Great place to stop for a late night bite, they have a massive menu and huge "competition sized" novelty burgers. I Had a very large hamburger (1lb) which was beefy and well grilled but the bun is a bit firm and bready (instead of being like a light and fluffy burger bun). Also if you don't pay the extra $4 or so to have it "dressed" it's basically beef, bun and that's it. I enjoyed it but I had lots of leftovers. 3.5/5 Had a Taylor ham and cheese sandwich for the first time. Really enjoyed the meat and cheese flavor. Same issue with the buns (I guess you love them or not, I'm not a huge fan). 4/5 Fish and chips were pretty good (4/5). Spaghetti with meat sauce was similarly solid (4/5) but note that they serve it with linguine but list it as spaghetti. The ambiance is all-night east coast diner, clean enough and a bit worn, but our waitress was friendly and attentive. If driving from Newark to PA this is a worthwhile stop for late night eats. Next time I'll have to try the desserts, which look pretty good. read more

You would be smart to go someplace else. You can see I've written more than a few reviews...this place is flirting with 1 1/2 stars, but the service was so freaking slow I'm rounding down, not up. Each aspect of the meal was sub par. THE SEATING--- That sat us pretty quicky, I asked to wait a moment and they could seat the next person as I'm waiting for my wife in the women's room. They said they'll tell her.....we sat down and they didn't tell her, so she stood there for 5 min until I went to get her. The hostess lost track (who my wife was standing next to). Ok...this is forgivable....but this was only the beginning. The Service---- Absolutely PAINFULLY slow. brought drinks (girl disappeared for literally 10 min). Had to ask another server to get her. When wanting to leave, had to ask another server to get her. She came, said OK she'll get check....literally 7 min later...she brings it. Manager walked by several times. Just looking for tables to seat more people (it may really have not been manager, they have several adults walking around with headsets reporting where open tables are). Regardless.......when you have to ask another server to get yours 2+ times. It's not good. To try to say something nice, server had a pleasant demeanor.....just had no knowledge of how to service a set of tables (people at next table over had same issues). The Food- --- I can overlook the service above (although, there are MANY workers here...they don't look like they are suffering from Covid 19 employment issues). The food was terrible. The only good thing was the cole slaw. HAMBURGER -- They constantly have on monitors playing throught the restaurant that they make the buns fresh 2 times every day. It was flat out STALE. Asked for medium hamburger. It was well done. Got the fresh cut fries, they were burnt (see the photo attached). PATTY MELT--- Again with the bread. It was like they took stale bread, and used that to grill the overdone patty in the patty melt. When I say the corners of the bread were as hard as croutons on a salad bar, they were. A patty melt is traditionally a touch greasy. This WAS NOT (which my heart is probably thankful for, but it wasn't appetizing). TURKEY CLUB --- Seriously...the bread. It is toasted white bread....but they used STALE BREAD in the first place. The toaster doesn't soften it up? Extremely dry. Was supposed to get sweet potato fries with it...it didn't. Cole Slaw---- I say it because I want to say something good. It was sweet and crunchy. We all kind of liked it. Check Out --- So at this establishment, you go up to pay at the cashier. The cashier when I pay asks how it was. I say, "not very good tonight". She looks at me, and literally say, "Oh....sorry". Not what was bad about it or anything....just more like a "thanks now that you handed me the money...you can leave now". Is $10 to much for a burger...not at all. But you at least expect a decent bun right? I'd have rather had the 2 for $6 at McDonalds every day of the week compared to what they gave me. I've been coming here with my family since they first opened in 2004. They're world famous now with their YouTube channel and their famous 100 pound burgers. It's hard to miss their big neon DINER signs on the side of the building going down Interstate-78 West. They have an old fashioned train car which you can sit down and dine inside which is unique. They also have a drive-thru window and a salad bar. This is only a few miles away from my house so it's my go to diner. The fresh squeezed orange juice is also great. Beautiful diner that is kind of a hot mess for service. It's gorgeous inside and outside. Features a bar area and a separate counter area. It's obviously extremely busy all the time. All the servers had ear pieces and were in constant motion. Management was rude. Our server was very nice, but too busy to tend to us so she took our order and then pawned us off on somebody else. What was supposed to be a quick pit stop on road trip home took way too long. The food was very good, but one of our meals didn't come until the rest of us were halfway done, and all it was Greek wrap with fries. My fries were luke warm with a piping hot Philly cheese steak. Sandwich was huge. Bread was cold and mushy. They should have at least heated or toasted it first. My daughters penne ala vodka with chicken was tremendous portion and good. At a diner you don't expect to be there for well over an hour for quick lunch, but we were. It's convenient proximity to the interstate made it attractive choice. After a night out at a haunted hayride just before Halloween, we stopped by for dinner. As expected: the menu was huge, covering the diner standards (wraps, steaks, vaguely Greek dishes, comically oversized burgers). I saw leg of lamb and decided to take a chance. It...wasn't a great choice. The lamb was actually pretty tender and not too gamey, but the side salad was tepid and the mashed potatoes were gluey, bland, and nearly inedible. The scrambled eggs were dry. I also felt like the owner or manager was rude to his hostess in front of customers. I had a baby who was a little fussy so I was walking by the entrance. It was not crowded at all but the owner/manager seemed to be irritated. So I then went outside with the baby because I felt uncomfortable walking. The only thing that this restaurant has going for it is the Tesla superchargers in the parking lot. I suggest going and finding another charger somewhere else. We drive by this restaurant frequently because it's on a route we take to see family. So we stopped here on our long drive to charge and have lunch. We will never stop here again! I ordered the Reuben and I asked for it to be grilled. The bread was toasted, the corn beef was full of fat, and it was dry like unchewable jerky. I took a few bites and that was it. It was inedible. I also had French onion soup, which came in a chipped bowl. I also ordered onion rings and those were in edible as well. My husband ordered a burger and it was dry and inedible. My daughter ordered a Belgian waffle with Oreos and cream on top. She claimed it was the driest thing she had ever eaten after digging her teeth down into the hard waffle. I would never go to this establishment after that shady practice they did to Joel Hanson and his burger eating challenge (on YouTube). Obviously made the burger bigger than normal so he would fail. And they saw them sitting there waiting for Chugs to finish, where they could've been putting down the fries when the restaurant said it wasn't part of the challenge, but waited to tell them to eat the fries until after he finished. Clearly attempted to screw up their finish time from the get go. I love how you stay so calm when a restaurant tries to pull a fast one. This sounds like a classic case where they regret their challenges when a real pro eater comes to town. They tried to screw you over on the size of the burger by 12 pounds and then you get the fries dumped on you at the end with conflicting info. I loved how you shrug it off and pound the food down anyway. That shows how reputable a place is when the rules continually change. Sad, but wonderful of you guys to stay calm and finish the challenge. You guys held yourselves together very well considering this place tried to shaft you not once but twice. No wonder the challenge has so many fails on the board. Bring a scale, never fail. This place tried to scam you. 28lb burger instead of 15lb, removed toppings to make it 17lbs (not 15lbs), said fries weren't part of the challenge, then added them at the end? Fuck that place. I asked the waiter, looking very confused, this all comes with it? He should have said, yes, when you ordered the fries it makes your sandwich "deluxe" for an extra $4! But, no, he just said, "yes." I would not mind having to warm up one item but having to warm up the entire order was annoying. Once you reheat fries in the microwave they are gross! The burger was super bland and cold as well.
