This place was highly recommended by multiple friends and family in the area. We came for brunch on a Sunday. We made reservations but didn't seem like we needed to since we came once they opened. We love the farm to table with the local farms. The menu is so simple but diverse in flavors. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I'd definitely come back to try more of their menu for lunch/dinner. I was told this used to be a bank and that you can ask to reserve the bank vault for dining. They have a good amount of seating inside and near their bar area. It looks like they may also offer outdoor seating as well if the weather allows. I'll definitely be back since my friend lives 5 mins away.

I stumbled onto this restaurant by accident on Resy and it with worth a visit! I was impressed by how good the staff was, the pleasant decor, and the fantastic food! They started me off with these tiny little onion bread squares, which were tasty. The fish of the day was cod and it was so good! Perfectly cooked, tender and glistening inside. Lots of flavors. Some would say a lot is going on, but I was for it. My only complaint is the high 4% credit card fee. Like I literally found you guys through Amex, wyd bro?

Continuing our trend of going someplace new for special events, I made reservations at Juniper Hill for my wife's birthday inside what used to be one of the bank branches I delivered mail to when I worked for United National Bank (~25 years ago), back when I worked with my future mother-in-law. I spent most of the night recalling how the building used to be (e.g., the bar is in what used to be the drive thru lanes). There's even a table inside the old vault. They brought out some pieces of focaccia bread with olive oil for dipping. As an appetizer, we went with the octopus à la plancha. For our mains, my wife had the salmon cooked medium, while I went with the flat iron steak prepared medium rare. For dessert, my wife had the carrot cake special while I had the milk stout float, which is like a root beer float but with a dark stout beer. Everything was delicious. We plan to return to try brunch sometime soon.

I had a wonderful dining experience here. I came here with my friend who had dined here before. Our waiter was very nice and gave us great recommendations. I got the potato latke which also had smoked salmon on top. Delicious! I also got the Pom Pom chai and the sangria. I cannot wait to try the rest of the menu the next time around.

Tasty farm-to-table food with excellent craft cocktail and wine selections. I enjoyed the classic burger along with their peach-bourbon craft cocktail. Everything was wonderful! If you're lucky, you can reserve a table in their bank vault. Food service was at a relaxed pace. I don't recommend coming here if you are in a rush. While it's a sign of the times, Juniper Hill adds the dreaded 3.5% credit card processing fee.

I came here with two of my chums to kick off Memorial Day Weekend. I'd heard good things about this place but it's rare I'm in this section of Hunterdon for a meal. (Disclosure - I am a native of the Kingdom of Hunterdon) I mean this with all due respect, but the spacious, rustic farmhouse interior feels like it would be more at home in one of the tourist trappy areas in the western section of the county in Frenchtown or Lambertville. I would be curious what their typical clientele is - I think this area has gotten a bit bougier in recent years and could also be getting some of the visitors to nearby Clinton. Anyway. The minute I pulled into the parking lot here on Saturday afternoon, I thought, "This looks like it used to be a bank." The building has that local mom & pop bank vibe from the 80s/90s, and that thought was validated when we walked in and there was a small dining area inside a vault. Very nice touch. We opted to eat indoors (it was getting toasty), and despite it being around 1PM the place was pretty empty. We were seated within about 15 feet of the aforementioned vault, and I could see a full service bar area in the adjoining room. Definitely my kind of place. One issue with the artwork - per the accompanying picture, they have an Anthony Bourdain print up, but the quote of his has a significant grammatical error. It should be, "I WOULD like to see small farmers empowered," not I WILL." Hopefully they get that fixed in the near future but there's a decent chance I'm the only person riled up by it. I was sucked into the almighty brunch dilemma (sweet versus savory) and ended up getting the lemon ricotta pancakes, along with the biscuits and sausage gravy, thinking I'd understandably have quite a few leftovers. Nope - literally just one biscuit remained at the end of my carnage. Both were very good, though the biscuits were the star for me. SLIGHTLY overcooked/crunchier than I would have preferred, but they tasted fantastic and reminded me (in the best way) of my all-time favorite biscuits from Roy Rogers. The accompanying sausage gravy provided some much-needed moistness and flavor. The pancakes were very good as well; my only mild issue was that I wasn't crazy about the inclusion of the chopped walnuts on top (for texture purposes), but that's on me for not requesting their exclusion at the time of ordering. The service was pretty good. Our waiter was friendly and did stop by from time to time, but I thought the response time started to lag a bit in the second half of the meal. Nothing egregious, and no one was in a massive rush, peering at their watches, but it could tighten up a bit. We had a young pup in our dining party that was starting to get antsy, otherwise it may not have been noticed at all. It's sadly pretty rare that I have a solid restaurant recommendation around here (it's a bit of a foodie wasteland) but this would be one of them. I definitely want to come back to sample one of the edgy cocktails and hopefully eat a meal in the vault.

Impeccable service. Beautiful, modern decor revamped from a former bank. (If you want, you can find in the former vault!) And most important, EXCELLENT locally sourced food! Reserved for my friend's birthday and they were just amazing to us. Beginning to end, I cannot rave enough. Cocktails with funky names were at first impression, were pretentious but just soooo worthy! And everything we ordered was AMAZING! Did I mention how awesome the servers were? Delicious Brunch/Lunch! Very cozy dining room in an old bank. They have one table you can eat in the old safe. Excellent service. The Shishito Peppers and Tuna Crudo were amazing! Very tasty Chicken biscuits sandwich. Our third visit, we'll be back!

Love this little farm to table restaurant that is housed in a former bank. I came here for brunch with a friend on a Saturday in August. It wasn't too busy at all. Everything we ordered looked beautiful and tasted delicious. I had the shrimp and grits with a side of thick cut bacon for my main meal. Everything about the shrimps and grits was excellent and not too "heavy". The shrimp was ultra tender. The bacon was crispy and delicious. It was enough for two people with leftovers. I didn't taste my friend's peach and tomato salad but it was so visually appealing! My friend loved it! She added the chicken Milanese and thought it was the perfect accompaniment. The pot de crème was spectacular. It's like a luxuriously rich chocolate pudding. The lavender panna cotta was vibrant and just the right amount of sweetness. The blueberry compote complimented the lavender flavors perfectly. My cappuccino was also the perfect ending to my meal. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Love the ambiance and decor. They have outdoor seating and a liquor license. The menu is ever changing based on what's available from local suppliers so keep this restaurant in your regular rotation so you can checkout what's new on the menu!

Dim lighting, big comfortable leather chairs, bookshelves lining the walls, a fully stocked bar, and historic photos throughout the space create a classic lodge vibe that feels timeless without being stuffy. It is cozy, polished, and incredibly relaxing. The staff is knowledgeable and clearly takes pride in what they serve. The craft cocktails are well made and thoughtful, and if you prefer beer, there are solid options there too. As a bourbon lover, I especially enjoyed their private barrel pick served neat, a real treat and easily a standout pour. This is a perfect pre-dinner or post-evening stop, we have done both, and it works beautifully either way. Dress is slightly casual but leans upscale, and while pricing is a bit higher than average, it feels completely worth it for the setting, quality, and experience. We sank into the chairs, talked story with friends, and lost track of time, which really says it all. If you are anywhere near Skytop Lodge, make sure this is on your list. Plan extra time, you will want to linger.

It is a fairly large space with plenty of seating and a bar and felt spacious and clean. Our server Fernanda was very friendly and checked in with us regularly to see how we were enjoying the food as it came out. I started with the duck salad and had the sauerbraten for my entree. The duck salad was tasty with a nice dressing, my only complaint is that it came with 4 thin slices of duck (maybe a bite each). It definitely could have benefited from more duck, especially for a $23 salad. That said, I liked the blue cheese, apples, and cranberries that went with it. My entree was definitely the largest of the group and came with two huge thick potato pancakes, a hefty serving of red cabbage and a good portion of beef. I really enjoyed the dish and was pretty full afterwards. I would absolutely recommend this dish and eat it again. For dessert we tried their special, a mango cake which was very light and pleasant albeit a bit sweet. I would suggest checking/asking about portion sizes before you order as some dishes are smaller than others (the grilled shrimp appetizer is only 4 shrimp, the clams casino is 5 small/medium clams and the crab cake entree is two small to medium sized crab cakes with no sides). So I can see how some people are frustrated with the portions based on the prices. That being said, I would absolutely recommend both the duck salad and sauerbraten.

We live in Clinton Twp and The Clinton House was top of the list to visit. Appetizers: crab cake and portobello fries. Crab cake was excellent, all crab, no filler, loved the sauce. Portobello fries were fine, a little dry, but good sauce. Entrees: My husband got the French dip sandwich which I tried..it was okay. Definitely not bad but nothing special. Where the food really fell short was my entree. I got the shrimp and scallop risotto special. It came with two shrimp and "four" scallops, which was two scallops cut horizontally prior to cooking and seared. Scallops were complete rubber and tasted like ammonia, and the shrimp were extremely overcooked. The risotto itself was tasty and I would have it again, but for $40 it was not an acceptable dish. Our waitress was not rude, but not particularly friendly. We loved the vibe and decor of the restaurant, and other staff we interacted with were pleasant. I would not return here based on food quality and price point. I think the establishment is historic and beautiful, but could be improved greatly.

The rice in the risotto was completely undercooked, the dish was incredibly salty, and strangely, there were no mushrooms in it. Desperate for a proper meal, I sent it back, only for the same plate to come back two minutes later with raw mushrooms just thrown on top. I honestly thought it was a bad joke. I was so hungry I ended up just eating around the mushrooms, but it was deeply disappointing. As for the burger, it came out well done, the exact opposite of what was ordered. But again, we were too hungry to ask for it to be redone. Sadly, we will not be coming back. This was not just a bad meal, it felt like no one in the kitchen cared.
