Hummus Platter and Bread Basket

Had an amazing experience - Amazing Service, great presentation, nice decor, good selection of beers and cocktails, ample vegetarian options on the menu. Restaurant have a bar section, a dinning room and outdoor seating for summers. Went on valentine's day Eve without reservation but they were able to accommodate us on the bar. We ordered few appetizers and drinks and had a great time. Will definitely recommend.this place.

On my way to becoming my favorite kitchen!! Food: everything was delicious! I had French onion soup and chicken sandwich. Very tasty stuff! Hazelnut cuppuchino was not what I expected. I could do without hazelnut spread on the cup. Service: very friendly, informative and fast. Value: it was $45/person for food, dessert and a drink. Not bad. Parking: ample parking up front. Restrooms: very clean and well maintained.

I've been back multiple times since my first review. It's consistently a great meal and excellent drinks. It's still packed on the weekends yet, service is always on point and quick. Rachael is the best! On my most recent visit, I discovered that their French Onion soup is the bomb. Can't wait to bring the kiddos back for that!

I haven't been here since it was the Readington Diner. We recently moved into the area and I decided I wanted to check it out. The interior is a complete 180° from when it was a diner. There's a long bench seat in the middle of the main dining area. The bar is to the right. My wife got a glass of Pinot Noir while I went with the beer flight (Long Jawns Winter Lager, Troegs Sunshine Pils, Allagash White, Sunken Silo Cool Story M). My wife ordered the grownup grilled cheese and I went with the signature burger. The grilled cheese came in Texas toast and was so thick, my wife could only eat half. She brought the rest home for lunch the next day. The burger was hot and juicy. It was also thicker than most ordinary burgers. For dessert, I went with the affogato (ice cream and a shot of espresso) with a glass of sambuca. Our waiter, Jose, was very friendly.

First time and Rachel was our server - she was absolutely amazing! A cozy place with good craft beer and drink selections, but limited menu was my critique. Food was delicious so I would imagine if they had more options/ specials how amazing that would be. Will def be back!

Adult grilled cheese

Great drinks, and solid gastropub food. The Boom boom cauliflower was crisp and flavorful. The Mac and cheese was great, and the adult grilled cheese was the perfect comfort food. It's randomly place on route 22, and closes at 10 pm on Saturdays. But the servers were friendly. Outside patio is perfect on a summer night.

I'll preface this post by saying; I've maybe left 1-2 reviews in my life & we eat out A LOT. While our waiter was great & food was decent for being located right on Rt 22... the pricing was outrageous! $6 for a chocolate milk.. an apple juice was almost as much as a beer.. 3 scoops of ice cream $33 (one was asked for a small scoop for a baby) ..tiny meatball app $24.. manager when asked about the ice cream cost was super unfriendly & rude. Most importantly - we hope Sophia's Shining Light foundation actually receives a "portion of proceeds" for the orders the restaurant mentions... Lastly, the restaurant smelled like a urinal ...

Wife and I came here for lunch! It was perfect because we sat outside and the weather was amazing spring temperatures. We had a wonderful time. Our service was friendly and on point! However, I did receive someone else burger, bit the mistake was corrected by the staff quickly. I got the burger and added salt to bring out the wonderful flavors. My wife got the hummus.

Honestly, my biggest gripe was that the water in the glass bottle they put on the table tasted very off. The food was just okay. Our server was very nice but didn't mention the specials to us, even though we heard her sharing them with the next table. Overall, it's a trendy spot with a bit of an overpriced menu and average food.

Even though my parents are locals, I had flown in late for the holiday and we were starving coming from the airport and looking forward to some good food and good atmosphere. It was a slow Sunday and we happened to get there right after the kitchen had closed. We were about to leave when they called us back and said they would keep the kitchen open to get us food. Though we were probably the only people there, Shawna and Jen took amazing care of us and made sure we had a good meal. This above and beyond service is one of the many reasons this restaurant is the best in the area. So why do we love The Rail so much? For anyone who hasn't been and looking for a great experience, this place has it all: live music and the best cover bands in NJ? Check. A solid menu with high quality food? Check. (Family disagreement on the best dish- I love the chicken zarro but the Rail burger is a fav). Genuine hospitality and staff who take care of you? Check. They may not know our name, but we're always glad we came. #cheers

This building was built in 1845 and opened for business in 1846 as the Union Hotel when the Central Railroad of New Jersey first came to Readington. After the hotel closed, the building became a the home to several restaurants throughout the years. The location was called Flamingo's when the television show "Kitchen Nightmares" came in and rebranded the place and named it The Junction. Chef Gordon Ramsey helped revamp the restaurant. By calling it The Rail, they are honoring the railroad theme, being in this historic building, so close to the tracks. With its mix of great cocktails, service and delicious dishes, it's a must stop if you are in the area. @TheRailNJ #TheRail #OldPubClub #OPC

Dim lighting, big comfortable leather chairs, bookshelves lining the walls, a fully stocked bar, and historic photos throughout the space create a classic lodge vibe that feels timeless without being stuffy. It is cozy, polished, and incredibly relaxing. The staff is knowledgeable and clearly takes pride in what they serve. The craft cocktails are well made and thoughtful, and if you prefer beer, there are solid options there too. As a bourbon lover, I especially enjoyed their private barrel pick served neat, a real treat and easily a standout pour. This is a perfect pre-dinner or post-evening stop, we have done both, and it works beautifully either way. Dress is slightly casual but leans upscale, and while pricing is a bit higher than average, it feels completely worth it for the setting, quality, and experience. We sank into the chairs, talked story with friends, and lost track of time, which really says it all. If you are anywhere near Skytop Lodge, make sure this is on your list. Plan extra time, you will want to linger.

As an appetizer, we had the crispy foraged maitake mushroom. It was very light and crispy, it reminded me of the coating on really good cod for fish and chips. Cocktail wise, I started off with the Alpine old fashioned which they smoked and my wife had a glass of Pinot Noir. For our entrees, my wife had the special which was a salmon with a parsley crust and fingerling potatoes. I went with the sea scallops with honey nut squash and maple-bacon jam. Both were very good. For dessert, we had a three cheese cheesecake and the Mexican chocolate soufflé. We enjoyed both. The soufflé was very good even without the vanilla-bourbon anglaise. The staff were all very friendly, from the valet at the front door, to the young women that took our coats, and the waitstaff that took our orders, filled our drinks and cleared the flatware. They had the fireplace going. There are sconces on the wall providing subtle lighting, along with small, cordless lamps on the tabletops. Since it's only about 15 minutes away, we'll probably return, even if it's just to hang out at the bar.

Ultimately, while it scratched that itch, it obviously doesn't hit those same highs. Walking in you have the typical Irish pub decor, but with a lot more TVs. However, for the area, that's what you're looking for, as most come to watch a game with a pint. When I went, there was even a projector up to show an additional football match, though I myself was more interested in a soccer match, which they also had on. The bar staff was wonderfully friendly and let me try a couple of beers before settling on my choice for the morning. For food, Guinness Beef Stew was go-to in Ireland, so trying it here, was also very good. The broth was a bit milder and meat was less tender than what I had recently experienced, though I imagine that's just the difference between domestic/imported Guineas and Irish/American beef. It was enjoyable overall and I would certainly have it again. Willie Mcbride's is probably one of the best Irish pubs in the area and I would certainly come back again, especially since comparing to Ireland itself isn't entirely fair.
