    Note the "Happy Hour" discount
    Bill B.

On a nice day you can enjoy the outdoor dining. Opted for the basic items on the menu which were fine. The beer (Sam Adams Summer) was excellent, however, do not be fooled by the term "Happy Hour". Our waitress neglected to inform us that there was an upcharge for onion rings. She also said "it's Happy Hour Thursday" when we debated ordering another round. She could not explain the "Happy" discount when we finally received the attached bill. $2 off the entire bill is more like a "Happy Minute" discount. We did have a nice dining experience. The entertainment was good. Just beware of the hidden upcharges and non-traditional use of "Happy", which is why I gave it 2 stars.

    Frozen mrs. t's pierogies

Food is not great. Ordered pierogies to see that they were frozen(ew). The meatloaf was not good at all and not what I was expecting. It looked like a sloppy mush dowsed in brown gravy and had red peppers that made the taste of it aweful. The mashed potatoes that came with it tasted fake and the broccoli was bland. My daughter's mac and cheese was ehh. There's plenty of other places in the area with much better food. Was pretty disappointed to the point that I didn't want to order anything else even though I was pretty hungry. I will not be going back.

Holy moly, this is some of the best classic American food we've had in a long time. We found this place randomly on Yelp I think and the cute exterior and and being so local we were eager to give it a shot. We got the mango habanero wings (omg yum!), the riverside pasta with shrimp, and a burger. Every single bite was more delicious than the previous. Even the fries were seasoned nicely and just fantastic. The restaurant inside is a little bit lackluster, but the staff was friendly and the service was great. If you aren't big on dogs this might not be your place, but he/she was well behaved and owners were quite attentive. We will for SURE be back and recommending it all around.

    NY Strip and Fries

Found this place looking at the maps app trying to find something new. Didn't expect to find a place off the main roads. Real local vibe, was remodeled roughly a year ago or so. Very nice inside. Bartender was extremely pleasant and attentive. Manager was hands on helping out. We got the buffalo wings, NY strip, and a bar pie. All were excellent! Tap beer tasted great (you can tell the lines are taken care of). So happy this place exceeded any expectations I had. I intend on coming back many more times!

Cheeseburger, friends and onions rings were really good! If ever in the area again will definitely come again.

They have 16 options on tap, showcasing their farm-fresh ingredients across beer styles, seltzers, and even birch beer. Flights are always a must for us when visiting a place for the first time and we enjoyed every taste. Standouts included the Doppelbock, Mango-Kiwi Fizzy, Godhi-Real Peach Fruit, and the most unexpected favorite, El Diablo Chelada, a beer-meets-Bloody-Mary situation. Even as someone who usually skips Bloody Marys, this one won us over. Bold, layered, and wildly drinkable. Leashed, friendly dogs are welcome inside the stunning barn-style tasting room, complete with warm wood paneling, oversized wagon-wheel chandeliers, plenty of seating, Rutgers pride, and a peek into the production area. Outside, pups can stretch out on the spacious deck and lawn overlooking the farm. Bonus points for fire pits where you can cozy up with a beer. This is also a family-friendly spot with a great playground out back and loads of room to roam. Just be sure to check their website for 21+ hours. Bring your own food or catch whatever food truck is on-site, and don't miss their packed events calendar. Trivia, open mics, chess games, book clubs, bingo, and more keep things lively all week long. It's a true hole‑in‑the‑wall diner with an almost comically extensive menu -- the kind where you wonder how they manage to cook everything well, and then they actually do. I had the French toast with bacon, and it was the kind of breakfast that makes you briefly reconsider every life choice that led you to eat anywhere else. My man ordered hot dogs with sauerkraut and coleslaw, and judging by the silence across the table, he was having a spiritual experience of his own. Portions? Enormous. Flavor? Spot‑on. Nothing felt rushed, skimpy, or phoned‑in. This place deserves more love than it gets. If you've been meaning to try somewhere new, consider this your sign. Be brave, be bold, and wander into The Little Place. You'll walk out full, happy, and wondering why you didn't come sooner.

Don't be fooled by the curb appeal. I'm not saying it's hideous or anything, it's just not focused on aesthetics. Fortunately it IS focused on great service and food. The London broil omg so good, they've got a brisket garlic bread kind of sandwich which is a must-try, they've fish and chips as others have said is fantastic, I've had the Cordon Blue and it was very good, better than it had any right to be, and the Oreo fudge ice cream pie PRAISE THE LORD it's a 10/10 and if you're lucky enough to get the Baileys Oreo pie you're in for a real treat. Something about the outside gives off the impression of a "dive bar". Inside, it's a standard gastropub. We both started off with the French onion soup, which was very good and personally in my top 3 (Dunellen Hotel and The Rail also are in my top 3). For dinner, my wife had the penne and sausage. She enjoyed it and it was enough food for her to bring home leftovers for dinner the following night. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with BBQ sauce, with onion rings on the side. Service was average/good. We didn't have to wait to be seated or get our drinks. There wasn't anything where they could've gone above and beyond. We wouldn't mind returning in the future.
