The tables are fairly close together but not so close that you feel crowded, and the noise level was moderate. We could easily have a conversation while occasionally overhearing the owner explaining the origin of the restaurant's name. I started with the Rooster House Salad, which was very good. It had just enough honey-sherry vinaigrette without overpowering the marinated vegetables. For my entrée, I had the Prime Hanger Steak medium rare. It was cooked properly, and I particularly liked the accompanying horseradish steak sauce. My wife started with the Rustic Wild Mushroom Soup and had the Fire Roasted Shrimp Pasta for her entrée.
