The Inn retains its charm. The wait staff is professional. The menu has remained unchanged. We ordered the wedge salad which was thoroughly enjoyed, as was the calamari, butter poached lobster and the Caesar salad as appetizers. For entrees, the grilled pork chop, bistro chicken and the special fried duck legs were all perfectly seasoned and prepared. The Martis Cabernet was from a vineyard that we had visited and was a delicious accompaniment. To all of the diners' surprise, however, the tuna entree was almost inedible. First of all, the quality of the tuna was poor. Second of all, the tuna was dry as if under a heat lamp for an unacceptable amount of time and the accompanying mashed potatoes had become soupy. I would have sent it back, but did not want to disrupt the enjoyable experience of our guests. We will return ,as the Tewksbury Inn is our local treasure. read more

Extremely disappointed!!!! used to be a town resident and moved to Langhorne PA, which is two hours away from where we used to live in Tewksbury New Jersey, the INN used to be our favorite eating place, we took our parents out on such a beautiful day, thinking we were going to be able to sit outside and enjoy a good lunch, only to find out after a 2 Hour Dr. that there was no outside eating, how in the world can you not serve people on such a beautiful day, the breeze was beautiful. I grew up in Tewksbury, so coming to the Tewksbury Inn is a nostalgic homecoming. First of all there aren't many good food options in Tewksbury, as this area is quite rural. For me, the Tewksbury Inn ranks top in this area for upscale dining experiences, especially ones that I can bring my parents along to. The Inn is nestled in the heart of Oldwick, and the surrounding town is gorgeous and full of old historical buildings and houses (I used to trick-or-treat here as a kid). There are parks, farms, and fields about a mile in each direction, so it's very nice to spend time exploring after your meal. The restaurant itself is very pretty inside. There are two rustic but well-kept dining spaces downstairs and a beautiful dining patio outside. The menu has a wide array of traditional American fare. I've tried half of the menu at this point and each item is unique and done quite well. A few favorites of the family are the Caesar salad, the salmon pita wrap, the Mahi Mahi tacos, and the onion rings. This visit I got a special, the Philly Cheesesteak, and it was phenomenal. Instead of shredded beef, they used juicy chunks of tender beef, with melted cheese, onion, pepper, and horseradish sauce all piled on top of a fresh, charred bun. This came with a choice of sides: potato salad, fruit salad, French fries, or their classic onion rings. The service here is always top notch. Some of my old classmates from elementary school still live in the area and work at the Inn, and it's fun to check in and see how everyone is doing. There servers are always willing to help you with your order and the food always comes quickly. Overall, if you're looking for a solid meal on a beautiful day, this is the place! read more

Lovely little upscale restaurant in an old house. Very cozy autumn decor, romantic low lights. Our server was wonderful, she helped me choose my entree when I was torn between two. I ended up having the pork with brussel sprouts, savory bread pudding and maple glazed apples. Delicious and a good portion, which was needed because my husband got the fish and his was a much smaller portion. Luckily I had enough to share so he didn't leave hungry. Just be aware if you order a fish entree, it may be a smaller portion. Dessert was an apple crisp using apples from a local farmers market that we like to go to, so of course it was delightful. read more

I ordered the salmon entree tonight cooked medium. Or as, I said to our server, closer to medium rare just not "cat food". Sometimes mistakes happen and you might get it cooked a little too much. Yes - that happened. But the real issue is the piece of fish was the sad, pathetic, flat tail. Which good restaurants NEVER give to their patrons. And it was crusty and super overcooked. It should have been thrown out - never should have left the kitchen. I told her I don't want it and I don't need it replaced. The server was great and tried her best. My wife and I came here for our (un)lucky 13th anniversary. It was very busy so a reservation is definitely advised. We both started off with the French onion soup. For an entree, my wife chose the parsley crusted cod. It was very light. The crust added some nice texture to the dish. I went with the 15oz ribeye cooked medium rare. It was very juicy, requiring little work with a steak knife. The Parmesan crusted potatoes were excellent. For dessert, we split the apple crisp. The restaurant is very old, with hardwood floors and exposed bean ceilings. Cellular coverage is almost nonexistent inside but they do provide guest WiFi. read more

The Guinness far too cold and the grilled chicken Caesar salad with about as much personality as a small soap dish. The croutons had more effervescence. Right out of the box. Boring. My burger was overly salty. Served with pre battered fries doused in cheap truffle oil. Really off putting. What are they covering up? We never were served water. And we waited a long time to give our order. About twenty minutes. That's far Too long at lunch. Was that a pickle spear? The coleslaw did taste like the fridge. Bad form. The place is really historic with colonial charm. We ate upstairs and I ordered a ribeye that said it came with mashed potatoes and asparagus. My wife and I split a wedge salad. The salad was perfect. My steak was overdone and strangely came on a plate with a salad instead of the mashed potatoes. They brought me a side of them but it was just strange. This quaint historic Inn nestled in middle of farms, makes you feel like you're in the late 1700s. A very warm and homey feeling, we were welcomed by the staff as soon as we entered. We stopped in for a late afternoon lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. The restaurant was busy. I had the grilled cheese and tomato soup which were quite yummy. Have been here a great deal and used to enjoy it. Arrived at the almost empty restaurant for our reservation and kindly asked for a new table after being brought to a very undesirable one. Asserting that other tables were "reserved," the staff grudgingly offered us a table in the main area with the condition of vacating within an hour to an hour and a half, despite our reservation. This and the disingenuous claim on their Resy regarding the inability to honor seating requests, left a bitter taste of dishonesty and preferential treatment. Met some work colleagues here for a working supper. Making reservations was a breeze. Welcomed into the restaurant and had a wonderful seat by the window. What a lovely historical building and I really enjoyed seeing all the artwork. We ordered the a lobster as well as a stuffed dates (appetizer ). For entrees we got stuck and salmon. Everything was extremely flavorful and so fresh. And we were so excited to share our plates with each other. For dessert I ordered a warm pear cake that came with a side of vanilla ice cream . Drinks are solid - you get what you pay for. Bar scene is both traditional and fun. Friendly patrons. Dinner in the dining room was outstanding. Justin, our waiter, was very pleasant and always there right when we needed him. He's the right amount of everything you want in a waiter. Always have and love the filet mignon with the risotto cake and roasted shallots. Started with salmon tartar - yum! Best part was the graham cracker ice cream sundae - amazing! It is lively most nights and you'll definitely need a reservation on Friday and weekends, perhaps even a weekday. So disappointed at my lunch experience yesterday. My Short ribs were dry & obviously leftover. No real rich flavor, bread had actual black burn marks, and the coleslaw they served was also dry & tasteless. After living here for 3 years, this is our favorite restaurant in the area so far. The area is seriously lacking in good food so my expectations were low. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the food. The filet was our favorite dish. Decent size filet and the sauce was delicious . The grilled branzino was good, but missing something..maybe a sauce. It was a bit dry. Our least favorite was the cookie skillet (too dry not enough chew to the cookie and not enough ice cream). Also there is a quiet dining room and a tavern, bar style room. It was a busy night and a little louder in the bar room. If I had known I would of clarified seating preference in our resy, since it was our anniversary. We will be back! read more

Went for dinner with my mother & we were both disappointed. We were greeted by a very nice hostess, however, upon being seated in the inside dining room we noticed our water glasses were dirty as was some of the silverware. The food was average (filet mignon & scallops) and for the price should have been better. We had to continually shoo a few flies away until our server (who was sweet) placed a small fan near our table. Love the history and the lovely town but not a great dining experience. read more

4-21-22 7pm reservations Glad I called and made reservations before coming here. Once we arrived and were seated every table was taken and on a Thursday evening. We started with cocktails they had a great menu selection. I chose a Mediterranean Mule that was made with fig vodka my nephew had the same. For the main course I had the cod which was delicious. It came in an unusual sauce and breadcrumb topping that was nice and not overpowering to the dish. For dessert my nephew had the peanut mousse that also had peanut brittle in it. His wife had the chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. As for myself I had an expresso martini it was a first for me. But definitely not the last very similar in taste to a mudslide. My nephew and his wife live nearby and hadn't been here before. I wanted to take them someplace new. So glad it was enjoyed by all. Hopefully they will return again. read more

Success has its complications. Went for dinner last night with a large group. Had a reservation. Was seated and ordered drinks and appetizers. They both came very quickly. While we were eating then, they took the main course orders. We finished out appetizers and got a second round of drinks. The problem was the main courses never arrived. In fact, it was an hour and a half before they arrived. Yes it was a very busy Friday night at the restaurant but the excuse that they were busy just doesn't wash it. Before visiting the Tewksbury Inn, I read many reviews. Good, bad, and indifferent. I decided to visit it for myself and make my own conclusions. Despite being in a very nice area, the restaurant missed the mark. To begin: upon arriving, there was no one to greet me and my guest. Finally the host sat us in the mostly empty dining room (there was no one at the bar and just another table finishing up, though people were seated outside) after waiting a minute or two. The room is odd in that there are tables adorned with tablecloths and [electric] candles but literally right next to the bar. Not sure if they are going for a fine dining atmosphere or more of an elevated gastropub setting. Anyway, we were seated and waiting for about 5 minutes for a waiter or any wait staff to greet us with water, specials, etc. A server brought over some stale baguette and highly salted butter. I would expect at a fine-dining establishment the bread would be warmed. Oh well, not the end of the world. Hearing from others about the "extensive wine list", I figured I would take a look. As I browsed through, I noticed most wines came from America and were all the same [style]. I guess the local clientele likes what they like but I was surprised. A decent wine list should have all areas well-represented and sadly Tewksbury's list was mainly Cali Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Cabernets. If you want a Rioja or a Barolo, you might find one or two but not very many. There were old world regions represented but only half a page each (as compared to several pages of oaky/buttery USA Chardonnay). To call the list extensive is a gross misrepresentation. For a positive note on the subject, the wine list prices are quite low (even for the fast movers like Faust Cabernet and Billecart-Salmon Brut Rose) and they have a 50% discount Monday nights. After waiting for another 10 minutes, our waiter took our wine order and food order at the same time. We waited another 5 minutes for the wine to arrive and as the waiter was opening the wine, our appetizers arrived. Weird timing! The wine glass did not smell but was covered in water stains. Since we both got cold appetizers (Strawberry & Brie salad and Tabbouleh Salad) we found it strange that the salad plates were piping hot, so much so that the greens on the one salad were wilting... I would say about 10 minutes passed between when we finished our appetizers and when our entrees arrived. Entree portions were very generous. I got the Filet Mignon and my dinner guest got the Bistro Chicken. The beef was cooked nicely and had decent flavor but lacked any wow factor. The chicken was well-cooked and quite simple; nothing to write home about. Entree prices were fair, especially given the area. By the time dessert came we were quite filled, which is a good thing. We both shared the Key Lime Pie and some mango sorbet. The waiter did say the ice creams/sorbets are not made in-house, which is a shame. The pastry chef can really stretch their wings and be creative in this regard but based on the fairly basic dessert menu, my guess is there is no room for creativity here. In all, the Tewksbury Inn was disappointing. Nothing was terrible but I feel like there was no attention to detail, care, or refinement. The restaurant is on the more homey/simple side rather than a destination for foodies or wine lovers. Perhaps I should have lowered my expectations before arriving? For that, I can only blame myself. read more
