    Buffalo Calamari

My husband and I stopped by for a late lunch today. This is our third time here and the food is always so good as well as the service. Our waiter was great and attentive. We ordered the Buffalo calamari, garlic knots and a margarita pizza. All was so good and the sauce is just so delicious. We will definitely be coming back.

I recently ate at Bensi opposed to ordering to go and the service is exceptional. More than 1 server will always make sure you're doing okay. The food is next level insane so you have to gp.

Food and waitstaff are wonderful, however, the owner/manager made us feel very unwelcome on several visits so we will not be back.

Unfortunately, upon entering the restaurant it took a bit longer than you'd expect for someone to notice or acknowledge us waiting. Once we were seated, it took an additional 20 minutes for someone to finally ask us if we wanted drinks or were ready to order. After that, it took more than 30 minutes to actually get our food. During all of this, no one checked on us, no one refilled waters, or paid us any mind at all. It does seem the staff does treat its regulars well as they are often seen spending a lot of time chatting with clientele. However, this does seem to be at the detriment of the other customers who seem to go overlooked. Nearly an hour after arrival we got our food and it saved the day for this review. The food here is consistently fantastic. However, just because of how long service was taking, we only got entrees and didn't want to risk spending even longer on appetizers and desserts. So, for my meal, I got the crab stuffed salmon. The flavor was excellent though the salmon itself was ever-so-slightly overdone. It sat atop a large bed of (almost too much) risotto. The crab flavor complimented and paired very nicely with the salmon. The restaurant does charge 3.5% for credit card transactions which seems high (especially since NJ state law prohibits businesses from charging more the credit card companies charge them). This is a difficult rating to give, because the service is so lackluster that I normally would give a much lower score, but the quality of the food definitely offsets it. I'd recommend it if you have a lot to talk about with the group you're eating with, and if you don't have any plans afterwards.

My only issue were the wait times. After being seated, it took about 25 minutes to have our order taken, then at least another 30 to get our food. No one refilled our waters. After finishing our meals and asking for the check it took maybe 15 or so to get the bill, another 15 for the guy to take the bill, and another 15 to get our change (we paid cash bc they charge 3.5% for credit cards, which is more than the approximately ~2.6% on average that the restaurant would be charged from most credit card companies). Overall a good restaurant, but plan to spend most of your evening here due to the various wait times

Even though my parents are locals, I had flown in late for the holiday and we were starving coming from the airport and looking forward to some good food and good atmosphere. It was a slow Sunday and we happened to get there right after the kitchen had closed. We were about to leave when they called us back and said they would keep the kitchen open to get us food. Though we were probably the only people there, Shawna and Jen took amazing care of us and made sure we had a good meal. This above and beyond service is one of the many reasons this restaurant is the best in the area. So why do we love The Rail so much? For anyone who hasn't been and looking for a great experience, this place has it all: live music and the best cover bands in NJ? Check. A solid menu with high quality food? Check. (Family disagreement on the best dish- I love the chicken zarro but the Rail burger is a fav). Genuine hospitality and staff who take care of you? Check. They may not know our name, but we're always glad we came. #cheers

Tonight on the way home from @PeddlersVillage , the @OldPubClub found another establishment, in…read more#WhitehouseStation , that has been around longer than us. This building was built in 1845 and opened for business in 1846 as the Union Hotel when the Central Railroad of New Jersey first came to Readington. After the hotel closed, the building became a the home to several restaurants throughout the years. The location was called Flamingo's when the television show "Kitchen Nightmares" came in and rebranded the place and named it The Junction. Chef Gordon Ramsey helped revamp the restaurant. By calling it The Rail, they are honoring the railroad theme, being in this historic building, so close to the tracks. With its mix of great cocktails, service and delicious dishes, it's a must stop if you are in the area. @TheRailNJ #TheRail #OldPubClub #OPC
