Pizza thrown in small box, toppings missing and a mess!

We tried this place tonight since we tried it several years ago when it first opened. We heard from other people that liked it so thought to give it another try. We were there not early but about 6:30pm, place was busy but tables were still open, it was Sat evening. We sat down. We got water, then bread came 30 min later. My husband was never asked if he wanted something besides water. Place is BYOB but usually places serve soda. No one asked and he tried several times to get someone's attention. He then just gave up. Our wings came and were okay. Another local pizza place has similar breaded wings so nothing special. We waited until shortly after 8 pm for our dinner. I got the chicken franchese and my husband got pizza. It was a lot so we needed boxes. I am pretty sure they only boxed half my pasta and threw the rest away because the whole plate was pasta. My husband got a small pizza box back but had ordered a regular large since that was the only size. The pizza was just thrown in. Pieces had lost all of their toppings and it was a complete mess. My husband spoke to whom we assumed was the owner. He wanted to put it just in a larger box but it was already a mess. No apology or anything. We are never going back! There are multiple good Italian restaurants in the area within 20-30 mins from us and this is NOT one of them! Save your money! Go somewhere else!

Awesome food, awesome atmosphere and great service. The owner is very hands-on with the daily operations. Every time I try something new here I am always impressed. The pizza is so unique. They make artisan pizza which is different. I come by as often as possible since it's local.

Eggplant

Decent food but be prepared to WAIT. On a Tuesday we arrived at 6:10 and had essentially seat ourselves. The bus teams gave us water and bread and we didn't have any further contact for 20 min. After finally putting in appetizers - pasta fagioli and eggplant rollitini - we waited another 20 min. The flavor was there but not worth the wait at all. Entrees didn't come out until after 7:05. Again flavor was good but not worth a wait like this. The owner was walking around BS'ing with customers while the kitchen and wait staff were moving like SNAILS. For the price, we expect at least a glass, not cheap plastic cups. The ambiance was decent but the lighting could be improved. Honestly the experience was so crappy I just had to come back and lower to one star. Decent flavors but get your act together. Cannot wait over an hour for two sandwiches, a soup and eggplant. Damn!

Service and food was great. Veal and Shrimp Oscar was excellent. Liquor store next door with BYOB. Outside or inside seating with take out available.

Veal saltimbocca

We got to the restaurant around 815pm. They closed at 9pm but said no problem. Didn't feel rushed one second. Apps we had meatballs and the baby greens salad. Yum. Entrees I had the grilled Alaskan salmon with broccoli raabe. My husband had the veal saltimbocca over linguine. My salmon portion was gigantic and my husbands plate was overflowing! Didn't have any room for dessert or coffee. Great dinner date! Always a nice dinner outside at Pino's! Service was great!

Very nice dinner takeout, a step above local pizza places. Loved the cream sauce, will be back.

Great food. Great service. Handled our large party of 13 perfectly. All the meals were delicious. I enjoyed the eggplant parmigiana.

The moment you walk in, you are welcomed by a warm and intimate atmosphere that feels genuinely Italian, more like being invited into someone's home than visiting a restaurant. The food is exceptional, fresh, full of flavor, and made to order with obvious care. The husband and wife team prepares everything with such personal attention, and her homemade desserts are truly something special. Do not leave without trying one. This charming little spot has definitely earned a place on our list of places to return to. If you are looking for delicious Italian food served with heart, this is absolutely the place to go.

Food took an hour to be served. Only 1 person cooking and 1 person serving and handling all the take out orders. Everything was served in plastic takeout containers and cheap paper plates. Our bill was around $240 plus tip for 4 people for appetizers and dinner. It's BYOB. For this price point we should not be eating on plastic and buying bottled water. Arancini balls were good. Herb crusted salmon was plain in a pool of something. Pizza was not good. They really need to have china and glasses and more help on service. Service was disorganized and food was disappointing.

Unfortunately, kids and upscale do not usually mix well! My son and nephew accompanied us, ages 7 & 6. My nephew loudly declared "this is a place to take a date, not seven people!!" And we knew we were in for it. The kids behaved but as any kid that age they were making a lot of noise in an otherwise quiet restaurant. All of this to say, the staff at Dora took it in stride and made sure we did not feel uncomfortable about it while we did our best to reign in the outside voices. This was so appreciated because nothing is worse than being stared at like you don't belong! Not only was the staff friendly and accommodating, the food was amazing. Even the oil they bring out with bread is so delicious, it has some kind of greens or pesto mixture and it's magnificent. We had burrata as an appetizer and gobbled it up down to the salad it sat upon. My tortellini was perfectly cooked and paired with a light pink sauce, I appreciated a thinner sauce with this hearty pasta. Everyone enjoyed their food, even the noisy boys who shared chicken fingers and fries.

Nice little restaurant in the middle of town. The service was a bit spotty. The bread they…read morebrought out was not very fresh and they never offered to bring more, which would have been nice during the meal. The portion on the ravioli dinner was pretty small (7 regular size ravioli) although the vodka sauce was nice. The lasagna was nothing special at all. They didn't offer any parmesan cheese, which may have helped. The Crème Brulé was a bit cold and lumpy for my taste. So, nothing was bad, just nothing very special about it.

We live in Clinton Twp and The Clinton House was top of the list to visit. Appetizers: crab cake and portobello fries. Crab cake was excellent, all crab, no filler, loved the sauce. Portobello fries were fine, a little dry, but good sauce. Entrees: My husband got the French dip sandwich which I tried..it was okay. Definitely not bad but nothing special. Where the food really fell short was my entree. I got the shrimp and scallop risotto special. It came with two shrimp and "four" scallops, which was two scallops cut horizontally prior to cooking and seared. Scallops were complete rubber and tasted like ammonia, and the shrimp were extremely overcooked. The risotto itself was tasty and I would have it again, but for $40 it was not an acceptable dish. Our waitress was not rude, but not particularly friendly. We loved the vibe and decor of the restaurant, and other staff we interacted with were pleasant. I would not return here based on food quality and price point. I think the establishment is historic and beautiful, but could be improved greatly.
