I went in tonight to pick up two pies I had ordered online. They weren't quite ready yet, so I sat down to wait and was immediately greeted by the young man working the register. He then proceeded to do something that feels like a lost art these days: he actually talked to me. A few minutes later, the guy making the pizza joined the conversation too. In the span of a 10-minute wait, we talked about college, sports, music, and pizza. It was such a nice change from the usual "face in the phone" experience you get in so many places now, where customer interaction feels like an afterthought. Then, when one of the pies didn't look up to their standard, they made me a new one and gave me the original pie for free. So basically: go for the pizza, which is excellent, but stay for the great customer service. Solid spot.

We observed that there's a lot of orders to go as people keeps coming in and out . Quite busy place. Clean and tidy pizzeria. Scuola Vecchia first timer but definitely will be coming back for dine in with friends. Margherita pizza is really good. We do recommend this place if you're looking for authentic artisan wood fired oven pizzas and fine Italian dining.

I very rarely give a one-star rating but this was richly deserved. First things first. At an outside table, the drinking glasses were placed rim-side down. I don't care how clean you think the tables are, an outdoor table is not sanitary enough for that. There was no bread served either pre-meal or with the meal which is not an absolute must but certainly a nice thing at a predominantly Italian restaurant. We got the chicken parmesan and lasagna, two of the safest things on which you should be able to gauge the quality of a restaurant's abilities. Both were served lukewarm (barely above room temperature) with a barely melted slab of mozzarella plopped on top. The chicken in the parmesan was burnt; not overdone, burnt. It also had some gristly, cartilage bits. The lasagna had so little meat it could have passed for vegetarian. The service was pretty bad as well. I was stung by a bee (my fault for not moving when I noticed an active bee hive near our table) and when my wife went to ask the waiter to help us move tables she practically had to tap him on the shoulder as he was staring intently at his phone and didn't notice her approaching. The food was so bad we opted not to take home the pretty large portions we chose not to eat because they were so bad. Just a terrible experience on every level.
