Whoo, boy. What an experience we had at Cryan's. I thought it would be okay to gather a group and head over for happy hour and dinner. Wasn't sure how many people we'd be, but the place looked big enough. It wasn't. Not for the crowds of people stuffing Cryan's on Saturday night, drinking at the bar, eating at the tables. Clinton doesn't have as many people as Cryan's did that night. Incredible. So we put our party down to a 40-minute wait. Time went on, a few people left, a few drinks happened, and finally the rest of us got a table together. Minus for service - the waitstaff was not very friendly to our group; granted, we were forced to stand due to lack of seating, but they didn't give us any helpful tips or any sympathy. Drinks were just "are you ready?" and then handed out. Food experience went a little bit better. The food itself was fine, mostly because none of us ordered pizza. It's bar pies here - super-thin crust, comes out crispy, which may be your thing but it's not mine. The onion rings look fantastic - huge, but with a lot of breading, and I didn't have enough of an appetite to down that by myself. I ended up on the Baslick Burger, ordered rare, and it actually came out pleasantly close to rare. Other people's came out to their order as well (medium and well, one with a subbed side). Nothing spectacular, but nothing bad. Same for the fries. All in all? It was an experience. But not one to walk into blind. Maybe if I was local I'd go on a low-volume night, otherwise I'll stick to some less crowded vibes. read more

I had not been here in about 6 months. Since I discovered Lebanon pub I am actually writing this at Lebanon Pub after leaving Cryans. The food and service were were so sub par I guessed management took Thursdays off. Curly headed expediter was adrift and let my sliders and fries sit 10-15 minutes before actually delivering. Sliders were ok bet the fries died a slow death becoming wilted. As for the bartender, I seemed to be an inconvenience. When arriving I asked for a Guinness and a menu. Delivery in 5 minutes and menu had to request again after 15 minutes. I left there and decided I didn't want my only night out in ages to be a bust. So off to Lebanon Pub for refreshments and better fried pickles. read more

Food was good, service was slow and the waiter got a few things wrong but was nice. Prices are reasonable. Got the bacon bombs as an appetizer, pretty good. Hubby and I had the sandwich and salad lunch special. I had corned beef, which was piled high on rye bread, he has turkey on rye. Food was good and it wasn't overly loud. The only thing is we parked in the front, didn't know that you had to go to the back to enter so we had to walk around bldg and up a hill. Conveniently located right off of Route 78. Don't be alarmed by the tiny parking lot in front. All of the parking is in the back and there is plenty of it. This place is always packed and always loud. Regardless of that, the service is always quick! They're known for their wings (and also their thin crust pizza which we did not have). I got half buffalo wings, half Jameson Irish Whisky wings. Both were excellent. They were huge, hot and extremely flavorful. My son got the steak and baked potato. It was cooked to order and the veggies that came with it were crisp and not mushy which is a pet peeve of mine. I'll definitely be back to try their thin crust pies. read more

Not the fanciest of bars but once inside, you just feel alive! HUGE bar, a couple of booths, a few high tops, but it's essentially a HUGE, VERY LOUD bar! Everything's all together. Service at the bar the quick. Service at the table was ok. The food was just ok. My beer battered onion rings were superb, the fried pickles not so much. Food: I inhaled my Buffalo chicken wrap. I was delicious. Perfect harmony of flavors and texture in a little wrap. My fries were also done well. My family enjoyed their food too. Service: Our server was friendly, smiled a lot and welcoming. However, the overall speed was a tad slow. Value, it was about $25 per person. My wrap was only $11 which was pretty reasonable Value: I think for the value the food is pretty good. The ambiance is vibrant but can be a little noisy. Parking: there is parking in the back but it can be quite busy at times and you may struggle to find parking. I will definitely go back. I recommend this place read more

So disappointing. I was excited to try this place because it is close to our new house and there are many reviews and photos that led me to believe I would get a good bar pie here. Nope. It is bad. Just plain bad. Way underdone to the point of being flaccid (and that's never a good word). The crust looked like store brand frozen pizza. It was so bad we didn't even take home the leftover half. I can't tell you the last time I did that. The bar was jumping and maybe it is satisfactory for soaking up beer but I wouldn't go here for the pizza. If you're looking for a great bite of food directly off 78, I can't think of a restaurant that would better hit the mark. Speaking to the latter, the place is quite literally RIGHT off 78, be prepared to slam the brakes and swerve violently into the parking lot after getting off the exit. Prayers to those who sit in the outdoor seating - it's directly in the line of fire. Chaotic caveat aside, Cryan's has the Irish pub allure we all look for when we need a few moderately cold beers and garbage bar food. With a solid menu spanning from sandwiches to pizza, you'll be able to soak up any suds you find with a steady stream of carbs. I tried several apps, including wings, Pretzels, and potato skins. I'd say they weren't anything to Yelp about - standard fare, though the potato skins were laughably cut in half to make it seem like more on the plate. Not a bad taste to any of the apps though - with some good beer cheese and mustard with the Pretzels. For my main event, I went with a hamburger, which came out grilled right and with fresh ingredients. I added bacon and they didn't skimp, putting three slices on top. Let's just say I wasn't Crayan when I left this joint off of 78 (LOL). This quaint Irish establishment has it all. From your elongated bar to high top tables to enjoy the 10+ TVs. Looks like they have an outdoor patio for when the weather gets nice and the men and lady's are wearing less. Drinks: -They have a TON of beer on tap. I opted for a Strong Bow cider, the wife to be got wine. -Seems like they have a good selection of spirits too. Too early to dabble for that. Food: -Heard they were famous for their pizza. So we snagged a regular margarita. Thin crust was super crispy, but the tomatoes were VERY wet...created a lot of spillage. Also, came out piping hot. Stopped in for lunch today while fishing in the area. Place was pretty busy but we were able to be seated right away. The French Onion soup was phenomenal, we loved that it was extra cheesy. I got the Spicy Italian Pizza. It came out hot and fresh, no way it sat there waiting to be brought to the table. Pizza was delicious but pretty spicy; if you're not into spicy food don't get it, you're not gonna like it. Inside of the Tavern was cool, lots of Irish memorabilia all over. Cryan's Tavern is a small Irish Pub / biker bar that's immediately off Route 78 as you pass through Annandale. Parking is in the back, so don't miss it as you are driving by! Fortunately, there are plenty of spaces to park, so even on the busiest days, you should be alright. I sat at the bar and service was a little slow initially, but got better as more people started arriving. I started with a pretzel appetizer. This was a great choice. The pretzels were perfectly fluffy. The beer cheese dip was excellent, as was the stout mustard dip. For pizza, I went with the large Miller's original thin crust. This was your classic bar pie, albeit a bit burnt on the crust. The sauce was great, the cheese was greasy, and the pizza was nice and light. The base was a bit soft, which didn't matter since I only had a plain pie, but I'm not sure it would have supported too many toppings. Still good but not 5 star as previously thought. Shortcuts taken and not consistent. I have ordered the French onion soup 3 times previously, this time they didn't even heat up the broth and melt the cheese under the broiler. They just torched it with a flame. Result - Luke warm soup. Also cheese steak came under cheesed. So far the wings have been on point consistently though. Got the pizza for the first time and it was good, thin crust though so not great for reheating. Next time I'll try the plain pie! Still a great vibe and nice staff. read more

Review for food only: If you like thin crust pizza, this place is a must. I have been ordering from here when they were called Miller's. The minimal crust is quite crispy and done well. They have speciality pizzas, I especially recommend mushroom and goat cheese. Their margarita is a bit runny. Their mozzarella is also especially good. Instead of sticks, it's fresh mozzarella circles. Don't think they are available with their limited menu with COVID though. :( read more

Manager Dee was extremely RUDE and not friendly. Arrived at 12:30 on a Tuesday and placed our order there was only 2 of us. When the food arrived my friends order was wrong but he was still ok eating it. Mine on the other hand was cold we are talking about a chicken sandwich and French fries. Our waitress came over and asked how the food was I told her it was cold and nicely asked if it could be replaced. That's when the Manager Dee came over and was extremely rude telling us we were nasty to her waitress and she's crying in the back. Dee was so nasty I told her that I didn't want anything because now I don't trust them. We even asked the people next to us if we were nasty and they said no, all you did was let her know the food was cold. Horrible place and horrible management team. Will never go back. This isn't the first time I've eaten there and the food wasn't good. Obviously this isn't a post to put them out of business but yet what is to be expected when you go there.
