Early dinner in Franklin, New Jersey on 3-15-25, The Ides of March! When we drove past Irish Cottage Inn, my friends reminisced about the fun times they had when they been there. I suggested that we go today - before it gets crowded on St. Patrick's Day. They agreed! We got there around 3pm and parking was a bit tight in the front of the building. We waited at the receptionist's post a while before we got seated. Live, peppy music was happening in the pub side of the restaurant. We got a table in the back... and I had a chance to use a coat rack for my long coat! LOL! Our server was friendly and efficient. She quickly brought my friends their meals of fish and chips and Bangers. I got the Corned Beef En Croute which is Corned beef and cabbage with potatoes, baked into a flakey pastry. It was excellent with a creamy horseradish sauce... amazing! We also shared a piece of Banoffee Pie: slices of banana on a graham crust with homemade toffee, fresh coffee cream topping, and caramel drizzle! Wow! Yummy! I'm so glad we stopped by! Going early paid off again!

Their French onion soup is the best around... hands down! Rueben was excellent The atmosphere is great lively at the bar Dinning room has lots of TVs

This is the worst thing I've ever been served. Greasy burnt hockey pucks.

While out running errand in a town far, far away from our home, we decided to stop at the Irish Cottage Inn. I was a little skeptical after seeing the wide variety of reviews, but I'm glad I ignored the bad ones because we had a fantastic lunch. We started with a couple beers...and in an Irish pub we had Guinness and Harp. Wifey ordered the Sliders and had one of each - pulled pork, corned beef, and a regular beef bacon cheeseburger. I went with one of my stand-by meals..Fish and chips. We ended up doing halvzies and split our meals. The sliders were great, though I liked the corned beef one the best. The fish and chips were good, but not so amazing that they'd stand out from other fish and chips meals. Our waitress, also the bartender, was awesome. Very friendly, got us our drinks and food quickly and was nice to talk to before and during our meal. The restaurant itself is your normal Irish pub. Tables weren't crammed together, bar area was nice and had a couple tvs. If I lived up here this would be a go-to place for me.

Corn beef Reuben was sloppy but so good and their clam chowder is so bomb every time I go I get the chowder I tell everyone bout it

Love this cozy Irish pub! Friendly service and the cutest restaurant. I love all the pieces of history they have decorating the pub. Tons of Irish fare on the menu which is fun. The Irish coffee is fantastic!! We also got the clam chowder which was some of the best I've ever had.

Food was really good. Service was awesome. Decent size portions. We happened to go there while they were doing karaoke so that was entertaining. We will definitely be back

Very disappointed! Ordered 2 Ruebens for take out. Rye bread was not toasted, asked for Russian on the side but it wasn't. Corned beef had no flavor whatsoever. And no pickle! Come on guys.... You've been better than this!

    Half of chicken, judge yourself.

The menu pricing is inaccurate. The kids meals are listed as 6.99 and we were charged over $10. The food isn't great for the cost.

We had trouble deciding on which pizzas to order (they all looked delicious) but finally decided on the Red Red Vine (fire roasted grape tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil, olive oil, & balsamic drizzle) and the Porta Bella (portabella, mushroom, spinach, roasted pepper, fresh mozzarella, & balsamic drizzle). Both were fantastic and perfectly cooked - the mushrooms were fresh (not canned, thank goodness). Also - I'm kind of a sucker for a good crust and this HAD IT ((chefs kiss)). Can't wait to come back!! As a side note -- there are two separate entrances... the front entrance is to the dining room and the back entrance is to the bar. I don't think you can access them both without going outside (but you'd have to confirm with the staff).

Our server, Samantha, kept our glasses filled & was very attentive. She went above and beyond by bringing the birthday cake out with lighted candles and then cutting the cake into individual pieces-thanks Samantha! I recommend the Grasshopper without hesitation.

The au jus sauce tasted like soup out of a can - very salty, too. The French Fries were old and tasteless. The pickle was old, and the cole slaw was nothing but a teeny, tiny plastic cup of water with tiny bits of cabbage floating on top. I have never, ever been more disappointed in a restaurant. The server got several bills mixed up at the end of the meal. Fortunately for me, I paid in cash; but others who paid with credit cards had a terrible time. We drove there from West Milford. When we first walked in, we could smell bleach!
