I have been wanting to try out this restaurant for awhile and I finally did. A little disappointed but let me start with what I did enjoy the ambiance very cute with their ceilings of beehives and colorful tables and their beautiful gardens with fresh herbs-broccoli -tomato plants. Enjoyed the music ambiance soft relaxing. For my appetizer we ordered the hummus with fresh veggies and pita bread that was delicious. They served flavored water orange slices with ginger- cucumber with mint leaves and lemon slices-my favorite was the cucumber mint. My main meal was a pork rib jerky a bit disappointed it was tough to cut and some of the pork was tender but top layer was over cooked and dry. Corn bread was delicious soft and served with soft butter. The coleslaw yummy as well-maybe should have gone with the fish. Our servers were wry attentive I like them . read more

The Chefs Garden is only open on weekends so I finally got to try it. If you want to go there make sure you make reservations in advance. The vegetables are very fresh as they grow a lot of what they serve. The vegetables they serve are the star of their dishes. Really tasty and delicious. However, the octopus was a bit overcooked as well as the ribs. It seems the cook left them on the fire a bit too long. Tasty nonetheless but it could have been better. The service was excellent as a lovely young lady took our orders and checked on us throughout our meal making sure we had what we needed. The ambience is relaxing and inviting as the garden and the place is quite beautiful. Surrounded by the vegetable garden and lush vegetation. No bugs though which made it even better. For dessert we shared a Pot De CRÈME, which is a creme with coconut, and charred pineapple. Quite tasty! It was a very nice experience. read more

If you're into farm-to-table fare or al fresco dining, you couldn't do better than Chef's Garden. The restaurant is connected to the Crystal Springs resort, so getting there involves a bit of a walk through the grounds. Not that that's a bad thing. The resort is beautiful, and what you see right before entering the restaurant is the lush vegetable garden that provides much of the raw goodies for the menu offerings. The restaurant itself is quite small and intimate, so timed reservations are required. And while we're on the subject of time, keep in mind that certain entrees might take a while to cook. At the time our family dined, there was a 54 oz. steak on the menu that caught our interest. Our server informed us that it would take an hour to cook it to medium doneness, which meant we were sitting for some time before we actually enjoyed it. That said, the steak is absolutely worth it. We split this giant bone-in behemoth of a meat chunk as five adults, and there was more than enough to go around as a heavy appetizer. An almost comical amount of potatoes was served alongside (which was also the case for the seafood platter), along with some grill-charred onion slices. While waiting, we noshed on a fair number of other appetizers and individual entrees, all of which were similar in the quality of preparedness. Some things - like the focaccia and the garden pickles - blew us away in freshness and flavor. Other things, like the octopus and the pork ribs, were decent but left us wanting for more in their tapas-like serving size. Also notable is their service. The servers here work SO hard. We had two of their best dedicated to our large party, and we found them to be attentive, incredibly thoughtful, and well-versed on the menu items. read more

Staying at minerals hotel, so we had to go here and I'm glad we did. I started with the Raclette which was melt-in-your-mouth fantastic. The savory cheese combined with the other flavors made for an amazing spread. I then shared the whole lamb rack with charred broccolini and herb smashed potatoes with my grammy and it is definitely the right amount of food for two. The crust on the lamb had that nice crunch and it was cooked to a perfect medium rare. I didn't try the potatoes or broccolini cuz of my diet, but I know my Grammy liked them so I will trust her opinion. Only thing they missed on was the drinks because numerous people at my table had to send their drinks back. The pita and hummus were relatively standard and a good starting choice. 2. Black bass is a filet as can be seen in the photos and was grilled while slightly seasoned 3. The brisket was the highlight of the meal. This is a definite must have if you decide to come here. 4. The dessert, vanilla ice cream with granola was just too sweet. Overbearing almost. All in all, the brisket was the best thing here and to top it off, the waitress we had was just lovely and attentive. The restaurant is just cute and lovely by design, of the restaurants here, this is a definite highlight of our trip. Pro tip: Given the price point of many of the restaurants in Crystal Springs resort, I would highly encourage the purchase of the food credit, it is $150 for $200 of credit. We live nearby and have never heard of this restaurant. Pleasantly surprised. The small plate oysters were excellent as were the roasted vegetables. My wife and I shared the Fire Roasted Seafood and both loved it. We topped it off with the berry crisp. It was delicious and so big that the two of us couldn't finish it. We had a 6:00 reservation and quite a few people came in to eat but the earliest seating they had was 9:30. The place is pretty small. The menu is limited but it's pretty good. We'll definitely eat here again. FYI, your utensils are in the dried beans. I didn't realize it and had to ask. read more

Amazing scenery and dining experience! I would definitely recommend checking this place out if you're staying in the area. The location is gorgeous, you sit amidst the flourishing garden that is supplying the fresh food. The kitchen is open and you can see them preparing the fresh food. The food was flavorful and combined unique and delicious flavors. The only down side for me would be the bar. The drink menu was nice but the drinks themselves were extremely sweet and lacked dimension, just tasted like sugar syrup. The property the restaurant is on is absolutely beautiful. The ambiance gets 5 stars. You walk through the garden where the ingredients are chosen for the menu. The restaurant is open air and they utilize a big beautiful outdoor kitchen. We started with a few cocktails and the whisky peach drink was delicious. We shared a few of the appetizers and the eggplant app was our favorite. The food was just okay I don't think any of us would ever order what we had again. We were all very envious of the table next to us when we saw their burgers. Beautiful place but stick to something basic like a burger. read more

My boyfriend and I went to the Chef's Garden for our anniversary. It is during COVID, so we had to sit outside, which was not a problem. We got sat away from the main dining restaurant at a tiny little slanted metal table. Our drinks kept sliding off and bugs were flying into my hair. Since we were so far away, we barely saw our waiter and waited 45 minutes for our appetizer. Halfway through dinner, there was a huge black cloud rolling in behind us. We asked our waiter to be sat inside, and the manager came out and told us there is a plan in place just in case it rains. Of course as soon as the wind started going, our hummus and salmon came out so we had to shovel them down before it rained (they were both delicious). They rushed our food out right before the storm so they could shove the check in our face and shoo is away. The manager came out and told us that the hostess made sure to tell us there was a chance of rain (which she never did). He said we could get our food wrapped or stand under the pavilion and wait it out. We asked for it wrapped and the waitress handed us a box to do it ourselves. Overall, the food was very good, the service was terrible, and the experience was ruined by it. We are very disappointed by the manager's rudeness. read more

However, I had no tools to crack the shells on my lobster because my server (whose name was Sarah) was completely and utterly incompetent. Ambiance and service is also top-shelf. Every other restaurants at CS should be burned to the ground and chefs (line workers) spanked for even having the balls to put the garbage they do on a dish. It started out as a very lovely day. We scheduled for 4:00 PM. It was my wife's birthday and our party of six was there to celebrate. We were originally seated at a table close the open fire which was way too hot for a normal person on a regular day to endure. We politely asked if we could move and the waiter said sure and we all quickly hustled to a new table. We ordered drinks and dinners. Drinks were good and the food was tasty. The brisket was a bit fatty but we all looked past it. We also ordered the corn which was two ears per order many of us ordered it. I though the waiter should have shared with us that it was a shareable/large potion. The problem came when the bill arrived. I looked quickly and put my credit card on top. I did not look at it in detail. Had I looked, I would have seen that they had already added 20% gratuity to the bill. When the CC receipt was given to me by the waiter, the detailed bill was no longer on the clip board. So, foolishly I added a nice 25% gratuity. Later I did the math and realized that I double tipped. I called and left three messages for the manager to at a minimum acknowledge that I was, in my opinion, deceived. I admit, I made a mistake. I do not recall there being a notification on the menu and the waiter sure did not tell me. All I wanted was a call back and I did not get one. By the way the final check was $725. I will never come back to any of the Crystal Springs resorts. read more

Been coming here since it opened and always great for fired grilled and smoked food - very unique and tasty! Unfortunately every year their menu becomes more limited, portions smaller, and service much worse. They used to have a sense of balance between touristy and fine dining. No pretense about service anymore. For example we ordered appetizers like a Salad and corn bread as appetizers "up front" - however they brought it out much later at the same time as our dinner. Waitress was nowhere to be seen after taking order. We sat with empty glasses the entire meal. As far as drink selection, Crystal Springs used to take great pride in their wine offerings. This year they offered only 4 reds by the glass - all "bottom of the barrel" that weren't even beer pub quality - far beneath their past reputation. We had the oysters app for 17 dollars. 4 very tiny oysters overloaded with a glob of sweet corn mush, and very spicy jalopenos pepper. The servers didn't bother to pick up our plates from our appetizers, so the dirty plates were left on our small table the whole time. The brisket was too fatty although I know it's supposed to be a bit fatty it had no flavor. The pork ribs were really dry and the bread was burnt on our brisket slider. Overall this was way too overhyped and overpriced. We got a quesadilla that had four really small slices for $16!! I would not recommend. read more

Amazing!!! One of the best crudités platters I've ever had served with house grown (locally farmed) veggies and not your run of the mill veggies, some exotic types. Delicious spreads with black tahini, garlic and ranch. Lovely burrata cheese with an eggplant tapenade and amazing grilled hanger steak with wild broccoli rabe. Ding is for very very slow service and not a very knowledgeable waitstaff who had no idea what some dishes actually "were" and what was in some items. Slow on refills for drinks too. Amazing view. The menu is comprised of vegetables that are grown right there in the garden you're sitting in. Everything was fresh. Casual attire. There aren't many tables and they don't take reservations, so get there early if you don't want to wait. It wasn't crowded when we were there in August however I can see it getting crowded quickly since there aren't many tables. This place really deserves 1 star but the gorgeous garden and scenery around it bumped it up a star. We went on 7-11-21 and were disappointed because it has gone down hill since two summers ago. First, the hostess was ridiculous. She was cold and rude, and although the restaurant was practically empty and we were the only guests at the hostess stand, she made us stand there with our elderly parents and wait a long time for no apparent reason. The menu is very limited. The drinks were expensive ($17!), kind of small, and just okay. The baby peach was decent, but we did not like the revivalist, which tasted like cucumbers. The lettuce wrap duck dish was not very good. The jerk chicken and beef brisket dishes were the clear winners, although the beef was very salty and the chicken was almost cold when we got it. They used to give you a big square of corn bread with a container of their delicious special butter, but no more. You get a small square already buttered. The waiter was so inattentive that it was hard to get anything we needed, including a water refill. I like the open air concept very much, but I don't like the fact that our food sat on the counter with flies buzzing around it and landing on it the whole time. YUCK! Don't they have covers or something? So, bad service + expensive, mediocre drinks & food + flies = not worth your time or money. You'd be better off walking through the garden to enjoy the beauty of it, and then dining somewhere else. read more

The host at the front desk was very friendly and gave us great tips on our stay. With a young one, we chose to head over here for dinner early without a reservation. It was great, with live music and great organic food! I'm so excited about the organic dining option. They lose one star for waiters who don't smile or check in on you with sincerity. I think they only came over because I told the host I found this resort on trip advisor and heard some restaurants here had poor reviews. This one does deserve a better score though. The great grains salad I had was a large bowl of many different varieties of unique mushrooms and bitter greens, sprinkled with wild grains. I loved it! My husband wished his pork ribs came with sauce, but I liked it. It was cooked well, just needed more flavor or a drizzle at the end. It's definitely a healthy dining option here. OK..so I was here he last two summers. I was amazed how good the corn was. It was boiled, and amazingly sweet. The skirt steak was cook to perfection. And the Heirloom tomatoes were outstanding. So today, we came in and ordered the exact same. Wow..what happened???..corn was grilled, dry, and had little flavor. Skirt steak was under cooked. And the heirloom tomatoes were just OK..arranged much differently . Place was empty for a holiday weekend, I wonder why. Morghan ..with an "h" (our server) was great. Gorgeous setting but the food was mediocre. I was really looking forward to the creative recipe for the corn on the cob but the corn was old and wrinkled and the grilling sauce was flavorless. The salad for 4 was beautiful and delicious but the rest of the meal, the lamb and grilled vegetables were not very flavorful or special in the least. read more
