A great local Italian Bistro who serves very fresh and wholesome food in a very comfortable environment. The service was spot on for a group meeting dinner in a private room. Waiters refilled water continuously and checked for wine refills. A great spot. read more

First off , the staff was so friendly and helpful. We were here with two of my friends kids, and they were so nice, patient and accommodating with them. You don't see that a lot. The food was very good as well. The calamari was pretty standard, I really enjoyed their appetizer with the Portuguese sausage, and I always appreciate home made pasta. The stuffed chicken was enough for 3 , supper thin and crispy, but not clgreasy at all. read more

We decided on getting takeout food the other night. It was our first time here. The manager was very friendly and helpful. We ordered eggplant parmigiana and chicken parmigiana sandwiches. The sandwiches were huge. The bread was so fresh and the tomato sauce was out of this world. While we waited for our sandwiches we listened to the Italian music they were playing in the restaurant. If you have not tried Luna Rossa it is worth the trip. read more

The restaurant has no prominent signage and is not easy to find. The interior was nicely appointed, warm, and welcoming. Our large party of eleven was easily accommodated. Note that menu posted on their website does not reflect recent price increases. The large menu is supplemented with many daily specials. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable, although service was a bit slow at times. He made a mistake with one order, but that error was satisfactorily corrected. Almost everyone in our party complimented the quality of the food, which was also of adequate quantity. One exception was the Antipasto I received which was far below my expectations. The "cold cuts" named in the menu consisted of four, small pieces of Prosciutto. Lots of canned green olives and dried tomatoes dominated the dish, along with some hard cheese squares. The best part was the few slices of fresh tomato and mozzarella. The drizzled-on balsamic dressing was sparingly applied for presentation rather than for taste or enjoyment. The artichokes cited in the menu were nowhere to be found. I can only surmise that either the chef never read the menu, or the restaurant was poorly supplied. Probably the worst antipasto I've ever been served. Avoid it! Keep in mind that my rating will reflect my personal experience. Others in my party would likely rate it higher. read more

Best pizza in the Bedminster area and the staff is so nice! We definitely order on repeat!

Luna Rossa is my sister and brother-in-law's favorite restaurant. Aftry we joined them for dinner there we fully understood why. The atmosphere is very friendly and the food is exceptional; even standard Italian dishes are made with extraordinary care. Adrian is the consummate host. A visit from him to your table enhances the experience. There are so many Italian restaurants in New Jersey, but Luna Rossa is a head above the rest. A few months later, we were attending a musical event in the Somerville area, and needed a meal afterwards. We immediately chose Luna Rossa, and had another exceptional meal. We live about 35 minutes away from the restaurant, but it's definitely worth the drive. read more

This order was picked up for take out and everything was ready as well as the order being correct. The menu had a number of pizzas to choose from along with lots of Italian dishes. I went with an insalata arugula with grilled chicken. It contained baby arugula, roasted peppers, tomatoes, mozzarella, with a balsamic vinaigrette dressing. This was very tasty. They did not skimp out on the chicken at all, and it was perfectly cooked. The balsamic was of the thick variety which went well with everything. All ingredients seemed fresh too. It was a simple salad executed well. Will I go back? I would. read more

This restaurant was highly recommended and we went with friends for the first time. I was very impressed with the look of the place and the beautiful way the tables were set. We hadn't noticed it before because it is not very visible from the busy intersection. The owner came and welcomed us and listed all the specials which sounded amazing. He took all 4 orders without writing anything down even though we all made small changes to the original specials. The service was excallent and the food outstanding. Every dish was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious with just the right amount of seasoning and spices. The food was real authentic Italian food similar to the way it is served in Italy. Just delicious and real. I just cant say enough about the place and we cant wait to return to try some of the other interesting menu items. read more

We've ordered the same dinners over the last year and there is no consistency? In April, we ordered a beautiful Bolognese and it knocked our socks off. We ordered it again and it felt like it was undercooked pasta, and a very subpar sauce. I've noticed before to a lesser degree, but it's almost as if they have different chefs. When I pay $32 (with tip) for a bowl of Bolognese, please do everything you can to make it worth our time. read more

While visiting from Arizona we dined every evening at the finest restaurants in the area, and there are many in NJ! This, however, was the prize. Warm, inviting with wonderful service. We had six people and everyone's dish was exceptional from the appetizer to the entree. Oh yes, I must not forget to mention the dessert tray. I rarely require dessert but this was irresistible. It's difficult to find as it's tucked away in a quaint little mall off the main street, but well worth the effort. read more

First time here, and we ordered a pizza to go. It Was Amazing. The cheese was so good it could melt in your mouth. And the pizza crust was a great thickness, almost like a soft pretzel. The ambience appears nice, too, with white tablecloths and candles. read more

This local, low key but nice Italian restaurant has a full menu and plentiful special options. Ask about gluten free options and you'll be happily surprised that they can make many things gluten free, such as the calamari. So yum! Our server was nice and knowledgeable about gf options. Any pasta dish can be made gluten free as well. The special of pork wrapped prosciutto, mozzarella, and spinach with a side of risotto was tasty! read more

Went here with family and was provided the private room for a surprise party- staff was very nice! Pre-fixe menu, but you could chose your entree. We passed around apps, which were Fried calamari, mozzarella/tomato salad and eggplant rollatini which was good! We also each got small caesar salads. I ordered Veal Marsala - it was a bit chewy and hard to cut so sadly didn't love it. But I also tried chicken piccata and it was delish! The sauce was perfect with the penne pasta and chicken was cooked very good. Not too much breading either - we then passed around assorted desserts! They offered coffee, expresso, and tea. Overall nice spot, no frills but good. read more

I love this place! I loved it when I lived in the area! And I love it now that I live on the west coast! When I'm back in NJ visiting, I make it a priority to have lunch or dinner here. A few things about the restaurant before I get to the food. - The restaurant decor hasn't changed in 25 years! It looks a bit dated; maybe time for an easy update imho. - It's BYOB which I like; easy to bring your favorite red to go with a delicious Italian meal. - They bring fresh Italian bread to the table along with hot peppers in garlic and olive oil. So good. - They grow their own tomatoes and herbs in their garden. When tomatoes are in season, get the Caprese Salad. - Danielle is my favorite waitress, so friendly and informative. My favorite meal 20+ years ago, and it's still on the menu, is the flounder stuffed with crabmeat. It's light, melts in your mouth, and gets a bit of richness from the crab. It comes with pasta and I choose the cavatelli with broccoli, olive oil and garlic. It's sooooo good! This visit my friend ordered the flounder, and loved it, and I chose the Veal Parmigiana since it's rarely, if ever, on a menu in Portland. When it arrived, the veal was cold. Understandably they probably fry the veal cutlets during prep, then add sauce and cheese and stick under the broiler. Unfortunately, mine wasn't heated through so had to send it back. It was good, but even better the next day when I heated up the leftovers and everything was hot, cheese bubbling. We started the meal with a Caprese Salad since their own tomatoes were ripe and just picked from the garden. A Caprese with Jersey tomatoes is Heaven on a Plate! We had a lovely evening, a definite 4 star experience. I intended to come back for lunch one day to enjoy the flounder, but plans changed and I never made it back. Will definitely order the flounder when I am in NJ again because it's been too long! read more

outstanding really, traveling from LI to PA , after 3 hours in the car in NY traffic this was our pitstop! We were here in July , and learned that the restaurant was under new ownership since Covid. We were so impressed with the new owner Adrian, his congeniality, and of course the food, we came back for our 48th anniversary last week. I reordered my usual, linguini with white clam sauce which I enjoyed every bit as much this time. My wife had a perfectly cooked lamb shank We had started with a delicious garlic shrimp appetizer on toast. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. The restaurant was ok under the previous owner, but has markedly improved since Adrian took over. read more

It's like a BYOB speakeasy, a lil hard to find gem!! The food is upscale Italian but at an affordable price. Don't tell your friends how good it is because for now you don't need a reservation, though I doubt that will last long as word will get out! Go, and thank me later lol. read more

Today my wife and I tried the new Luna Rosa which is now under new ownership in bedminster New Jersey it was a wonderful experience. There are so many restaurants in the area and this one is definitely a cut above. The owner Adrian was so accommodating and helpful with recommendations and let a sample two small garlic shrimp appetizers one on toast and one on a tortilla with guacamole that were outstanding followed by a spinach salad with prosciutto and candied walnuts that was delightful. Or entrees where stuff flounder with lobster and shrimp and a delicious stuffed pork chop pounded thin with mozzarella spinach and prosciutto. The service was great very attentive and friendly there were a few parties going on and the atmosphere was a lot of fun it's a BYOB so the prices are reasonable. Definitely give them a try you won't be disappointed. We didn't try the desserts because we own ladybossbakehouse.com but we will definitely them a try at some point. This restaurant is amazing! Adrian, the owner, is such a delight - so attentive, professional, and generous! Francisco, the chef, deserves many awards. We also love Josh, one of the servers. So sweet and kind. The four of us ordered the meatball appetizer... One of the best I've ever had, the Pork Giambotto, Chicken Jimmy, Linguine and Clams, and Branzino. And we ordered a few desserts, which were absolutely delicious! I've been here many times and the food is superb. Always busy with happy customers! Great service and great food! Have gone several times with one person in a wheelchair. No problems with accessibility.

We were coming from out of the area for my brother's wedding and needed a place for the rehearsal dinner. I joined a local group online to get recommendations and they overwhelmingly recommended Luna Rossa. Danielle was so easy to work with and helped coordinate it all with excellent communication. The meals and service were both fantastic. We had great options to put together our package and everyone loved the food. We had some kids at the dinner as well and they were family friendly and attentive to their needs as well. Food (get the caprese salad, amazing) and hospitality were top notch. Whenever we are in the area again, we will be visiting! read more

The service was good, and everyone was friendly and actually thanked you for coming. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the service. The food was much better under the previous ownership. My wife ordered the Caprese Salad which is made with and listed as made with Buffalo Mozzarella. Buffalo Mozzarella is soft and creamy not hard. I would think that at $15.99 you could afford to use the correct cheese. The eggplant parmigiana was no better or worse than any Pizzaria but twice the price. I ordered the Linguine with red clam sauce and received Linguine with Marinara sauce and 8 clams circled around the plate, no clams in the sauce. About 6 ounces of pasta and 8 clams for $28.00. The dish didn't look anything like the photos online and the 8 clams were rubbery (Very disappointing). The bread they serve with dinner is pizza dough cut up and baked. They need to figure out if they are a Pizzaria or a restaurant. You can't charge people restaurant prices and serve them Pizzaria quality food. read more

Luna Rossa is an exceptional restaurant which is run by a loyal and dedicated team under the direction of Adrian. Our first time visiting this establishment was with a party of 10. Adrian took all of our orders including appetizers without writing anything down. The food was delivered to perfection. I am astounded by the diversity of the menu, the ability to switch out sides, the quality and taste of the food. The chefs are talented and cook to delight every palate. We've been coming here for 30 years. We liked the old place but the new owners have made this maybe the best Italian restaurant in NJ. Everything is great.
