Fried Calamari
Gretchen T.

We always enjoy eating at Trattoria Uno. We popped in at about 4:30 after an afternoon of errands. We were not the only people in the dining area and there was a lot of traffic in the pizza area as well. That's a good sign of the restaurant's popularity. We started with the calamari. It was a huge portion! The calamari was tender and delicious. We each ordered a sandwich- I had the meatball Parmesan and my husband had the Trattoria Uno special deli sandwich. Since we were dining in, we had the selection of either fries or salad. I had the salad, Tom had the fries. My salad was very fresh and the sandwich was delicious. My husband enjoyed his sandwich as well. The staff, as usual, was very pleasant. FYI-The restaurant does charge the credit card up charge, so I recommend bringing cash if you're able. That won't stop us from returning.

Chicken Caesar Panino
Debbie W.

Service: Great, friendly staff. Quick turnaround time on my order. Good price for the size sandwich you get. Food: I've never ordered anything from Trattoria before but others say the pizza is great. I tried the Chicken Caesar Panino and it was not what I expected out of a sandwich under the Panini section. Paninis are usually served warm after being grilled or toasted which this sandwich was not. The bread was also not your typical panini bread but honestly... I thought the bread was the best part of the sandwich. In addition, I'm not sure what the seasoning of the chicken was but it didn't seem to belong in a Caesar sandwich. I appreciate the caution for soaking it in dressing but there wasn't much Caesar taste to this sandwich. It really does have potential - but I'm going to need to stick to the pizza at Trattoria and say no to the pani - no next time around.

Chicken parmigiana with Penne Ala Vodka

Ordered chicken parm and pasta to go. Food was ready when I arrived, hot, fresh, and GOOD! Definitely a family owned feel. Gentleman who rang me up (assume the owner) was pleasant and verified all my food was correct. In town for work for the next few weeks they'll definitely see me a few more times. - Highly recommend!

Peppers and Onions Pizza

This time around, a peppers and onions large pizza was ordered. There was plenty of the peppers and onions as well as the cheese. The crust was a little undercooked I thought and lacked flavor. It was a decent tasting pizza.

Trattoria Uno lies along the busy US Highway 202. There is a medium-sized parking area in front of the plaza the pizzeria is a part of. Inside lies a welcoming interior with good lighting, clean tables, and great decorative wall hangers. The staff was very polite and friendly and the slice selection was excellent. I decided to go with the meat lovers and the tomato slice. They were not stingy on the meat with this slice...it came fully loaded. Very filling. The tomato slice benefitted from amazing sauce. There was a good amount of cheese and the ratio to the sauce was excellent. Both slices had a nice crisp crust and base. The tomato slice is a real winner, and one of the better ones I've enjoyed in Somerset County. Overall, this place has my approval! Excellent pizza!

Penne primevera

I got this first tasting at my friends birthday party, vodka penne pasta , after that i visited this place myself and ordered Tiramisu, garlic bread sticks, Penne primevera.. Glad I liked all of them. Also they are maintaining good distance at dine in options too. Also not using plastic bags for take out. Happy I found this place.

The service is quick too, I felt like our food came out quickly for the size of our group. One thing to note is that this restaurant is BYOB. The food - it was okay. The eggplant rolatini was fine, although I think the eggplant was sliced a little thick for the dish. The lobster ravioli sauce was good, but the ravioli itself was extremely thick (the pasta part). It felt like more ravioli than lobster. I was really excited about the tri color pizza, it sounds so yummy with all the sauces! I was disappointed to see that the stripes however are all of the 3 sauces you get. So I felt it really lacked in sauce. What I think should have been done, is thick stripes of the sauce, cheese on top, and then the stripes for the plating. My sister got the pesto pizza and the also complained that there was a lack of sauce. Overall, I think this restaurant is okay. I'm not really sure I would be back as there are other pizza places in the area where I've had better pizza.

I mean, where else can you get Tri-Colored Pizza which was pesto, vodka sauce, and marinara with mozzarella all on the same slice? Plus, the crispy chicken on top? Chef's kiss. The crust was crispy AF, just the way my boyfriend and I like it. We really liked this pizza. Now, the riceballs... my boyfriend (a Jersey native, so he knows his stuff) thought they were just okay. Would we order them again? Probably not. But honestly, we're coming back for that pizza. Their pizza flavors and that perfect crispiness of the crust have us hooked. We definitely want to come back to try their appetizers and salads as well.

Ever. Parents got the Original with sausage, and they're STILL talking about it; both of them grew up in Northern New Jersey, so they KNOW good pizza when they taste it. This place is just THAT exceptional. Hours are a little odd, but service was spot-on, bathrooms are not handicap accessible and behind the kitchen, but very clean and in good working order. Overall, we all will be back again, when we have the time to make the hike over from Philly!

I finally made the pilgrimage to DeLucia's Brick Oven Pizza after bookmarking it for months thanks…read moreto the pizza hype machine himself, Dave Portnoy. Naturally, I walked in expecting a life-changing pizza experience... maybe angels singing... maybe my taste buds ascending to another dimension. What I got instead was a good pie -- just not quite the legendary, internet-breaking experience I had built up in my head. First thing to know: this place is old school. When they sell out, that's it -- game over. We actually had to call in our order hours in advance, so there's a bit of a jumping-through-hoops situation if you want to secure a pie. Also, there's no table service. You order your pie at the counter, grab a table if one's available, and drinks are in that classic see-through fridge where you grab them yourself. Parking is street parking only (no dedicated lot), so be ready to circle a bit. One pro tip: cash is cheaper than credit card here. Now the pizza itself. The cheese had nice blistering and the ingredients tasted fresh. The sauce definitely leans sweet, which I know a lot of people enjoy. Personally, I'm more of a tangy / saltier sauce guy, so the sweetness stood out to me. The dough is where I had mixed feelings. It held together nicely, but felt a little dry for my liking. I also tend to prefer wood or charcoal-fired pizzas because that smoky flavor adds another dimension that I didn't quite get here. Overall verdict: good pizza, just maybe a little overhyped for the score it got. Still worth trying if you're in the area -- just maybe leave the life-altering expectations at the door. Good pie. Just not quite the pizza enlightenment I was promised.
