I was able to try an item at an event I had the pleasure of attending. I had a slice of their large Italian sub. This was nicely put together and well made. Every layer of the sub was thoroughly planned out with a good amount of each topping. There was a great ratio of the filling to the bread. The bread was the key though. It was soft in the middle, while having a little bite on the outer edge. Most of the condiments were on the side, and I did not even need to add any because of how good and flavorful the sub was by itself. Will I go back? I went to Delicious Heights in Bedminster with my fiancé, and overall we had a really nice experience. It wasn't too busy when we arrived, so we were seated right away, which was a great start. The decor feels a bit old-fashioned, but the dining room was spacious and comfortable, and I appreciated that it wasn't overly loud. Our waiter was patient, attentive, and genuinely lovely. We started with the spinach dip, and that was delicious. For the main, we ordered the half baby back ribs with coleslaw and steamed broccoli. The broccoli and coleslaw were a bit bland, but the ribs...Tenderism! Absolutely tender, flavorful, and easily the star of the meal. Dessert looked nice but honestly wasn't very memorable. This restaurant is now called Bedminster Tavern instead of Delicious Heights- it is no longer delicious. Not sure if it's new ownership or a new chef but it's not as good as it used to be. We ordered a salad with duck confit and the piece of soggy duck skin in the salad was larger than my hand. The kale with chicken salad had more chicken skin than chicken. What's up with all the skin??!! Crispy cauliflower was anything but crispy. I asked how the squash and pepper side dish was prepared and the waiter said"it's squash with pepper"- well that was helpful. The food is worse and the prices are higher- not a good combo. Six year old said "I hope we don't have to come here again". The 3 year old said " I no like this food"- The French fries had the texture of styrofoam and was tasteless. What restaurant can't make a good French fry?! Not coming back. Every time our server passed our table (maybe 5 times) he asked how everything was- maybe he knew it was not good. Went (two of us) for a late-ish dinner last week and sat at a high top in the bar. Nice and quiet ! We go there for a reliably good meal, nothing fancy. We had such a fantastic meal at Delicious Heights in Bedminster! Our server, Lizzy, was outstanding--attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience so enjoyable. The food was incredible, and we even got a visit from the BEST chef, Vinny, which made the evening extra special. The braised short ribs are the best I've ever tasted with a scrumptious sweet chutney on top blending the perfect taste bud symphony of sweet and savory. Took my family out to celebrate my Daughter's birthday and Delicious Heights was the place that was recommended to us by my youngest daughter and her husband who have been there for another occasion. All in all the service was good the ambiance was ok and the food was good. However, there were two items that were a little bit off putting. One, the table we were seated at was covered with fingerprints and smears and it really didn't appear to have been cleaned properly and the second thing was the additional "open food charge" that was added to the bill because we had brought in a specialty Birthday cake and they charged us for the use of 7 small plates and 7 forks. The sticky rice wasn't particular sticky, but was a nice addition to complement the fish and avocado. The penne a la vodka was ok. The pasta was cooked well, but the sauce itself had more cream compared to tomato, and didn't have a particularly noticeable vodka flavor (I would have believed it was just tomato cream sauce, that is). However, a glass of house wine at lunch time is $12.00.....now any wine person knows that my glass of wine purchased a bottle+ for that business ! It saidnit was similar to Winberies which is near where we live so I said let's go! Service was good. Food, I thought was delicious! Never had a poke bowl before and everything tasted to yummy. The tuna was perfect. Someone posted about the rice not being sticky but mine was. My son got the avocadoo blt, I didn't try it but he loved it. The service here is always friendly and I love the French dip. I also love the comfy booths. I hadn't been in a while and noticed prices increased even though they charge a fee to use a credit card. I stopped here after a business meeting. I really like the atmosphere in the bar area. The bar is dim and modern with just the right amount of lighting. The menus light up when you open them, making it easier to read. They have a large selection of beer on tap with some cool looking frost covered taps. Does it do anything or is it a gimmick? I don't know, but it still looks cool. The girls greeting you when you enter are always smiling and friendly. The bartenders and servers have always been helpful, friendly and attentive. We were the second couple seated in the large dining room and they placed us NEXT to the other couple ??? That couple soon left and we were the only people in the room yet still had to wait over a half hour for our very simple order to arrive. My wife ordered the cavatelli and broccoli, bland, flavorless and what was most unappetizing was that the bowl was half-filled with the pasta water (no joke) ! We asked waitress to dump the water and possibly add some grated cheese for flavor. Where was the roasted garlic, olive oil and white wine??? I had the Farmhouse Salad which also did not match menu description "Grilled chicken, crisp romaine, walnuts, and double smoked bacon, apples, egg, dried cranberries, tomatoes, and red onion tossed in honey-mustard dressing" Grilled chicken on top was nice, but salad didn't match. Tons of red onion shavings topped classic iceberg (not romaine) lettuce, and the other mentioned items seemed hard to find...bacon?...apples?...cranberries? Had dinner there last night with my wife and son. Last time I was there the place was still called Willy's Tavern. Such a great experience. Our waitress was sweet, friendly, and expedient. The outdoor covered seating in the rear of the building was pleasant and attractive. All our meals were great. I had the French Dip, the roll was fresh, the RB was lean and they had the good sense to put the horseradish on the side. My wife had the vegetable panini and my son the buffalo chicken sandwich. Lastly, I went inside the restaurant and was amazed how gorgeously they renovated the inside while still keeping the history of the building in tact. They have the best short ribs here that I have ever eaten. The ribs are served in three separate piles on top of mashed potatoes with delicious gravy and diced tiny veggies with whole asparagus in the middle. I have never had a bad meal here but the short ribs are my favorite! read more
