Crispy tenders, fries and rice
Scott S.

Stopped in for lunch at Cracker Barrel in Clinton NJ. Just off 78 in a large shopping center sits one of my favorite places. I got crispy tender dippers with fries, seasoned rice and biscuits. Was seated promptly and hit the usual awesome service. Tenders were yummy as were the fries and biscuits. Seasoned rice was bland so I skipped it. Besides I was too full to eat it. The place wasn't busy going it picks up now that the original logo is back. As always hit the shop to buy candy goodies. Sadly no vanilla moon pies. Plenty of parking. Please patronize this place for the friendly hard working folks there.

I had a lunch last Monday here on the way to PA. My image of Cracker Barrel was that slow service but I get solid southern family style warm food. My image was right. Though server young lady was very good but slow overall. Food we get was nothing special but edible and fill fee for the time being. Many of Cracker Barrel locations are highway side and they should learn to serve faster at those locations. Also I am sure their menu selection and quality could be improved. Then many customers including me would give higher rate for this chain.

The restaurant, store, and parking lot are very much like every CB but it's still a good time. I came for the campfire meals, and they did not disappoint. Due to their nature of being prepared in foil, we literally only waited 10 minutes between parking, seating and getting the food to our table. And the chicken is perfection along with the veggies all soaking up that chicken juice. Service was very prompt with refills, paying is very easy by QR code or by store register, and it's good food quickly. I love their Southern decor vibe and there are plenty of tables and a wait time on the website. Since we didn't have to wait for a table or for the food, I was a happy camper.

When we are driving South, Cracker Barrel is a chain option we consider. Found the food really salty many years ago, but we tried again and better now. Cracker Barrels have similar layouts - rocking chairs out front, a country store then the dining areas. Thank goodness for the store bec. wait for a table that night was 40min. Walked around, bought a bottle of sarsaparilla (found out it's just from Whitestone, NY) and Bazooka drink (tasted like the gum, but a sip was enough.) Both too sweet! Also some holiday decor. Finally, got a text saying our table was ready. Many empty tables so wondered why the long wait. My husband was told that it was to not overwhelm the kitchen. However, I would have appreciated being sat at a table with some biscuits and butter and beverages to bide the time, rather than just waiting around, esp when hungry. Anyway, pretty big menu, good prices. Have an option for 2 or 3 sides with your entree, premium sides at addtl. cost. I liked my meal- country fried steak with gravy, sides of dumplins (in a creamy sauce), and turnip greens (with shredded country ham). Loved their large buttermilk pancakes, served with a small bottle of syrup. Their biscuits were soft and flaky. Portion of mac n cheese side was little though. Everyone was satisfied with their picks. Service is great- the staff in the front, the store and our server. A mistake with a side was quickly corrected. The take-home meals are small portions but only $6.

It's a nice theme restaurant that's made to look like a southern restaurant/ general store although I been to a few southern restaurants in the real south over the years and never came across anything that looked close to this. The general store section is my favorite it sells a lot of weird nicknacks and there's no theme to anything. I have found some cool stuff here from time to time. I was seated immediately and the waitress was friendly and attentive. I started off with the Biscuit Beignets it wasn't bad but felt like it was a donut package you get at the supermarket and all they do is toss some powdered sugar in it and serve. My main dish was the Bacon & Egg Hashbrown Casserole the fried onions were good but the rest of it was mostly bland with a little spice here and there. My verdict is I would go to the cracker barrel for their general store side more than the food. But if I was pressed for time I would go to the restaurant side just to get a meal

Been to plenty of Cracker Barrel and this one doesn't take the cake. Cracker Barrel is known for their breakfast, however for some odd reason I decided to get something completely different and out of the ordinary. Cracker Barrel usually has monthly specials and the pictures make the special look like it's worth a try. DO NOT try the camp fire steak special. It was completely not worth a try at all. The picture showed maybe 10 pieces of steak and tons of carrots and potatoes. The portion I was given was maybe 5 pieces of cube steak, 2 carrots and 2 potatoes. The entree was completely bland with no flavor. Stick with their pancakes, hash brown casserole, corn, anything other than their specials. Service was alright and ambience is the same looking. This review was mainly about their special of the month that they were running.

I wish I could say I enjoyed my meal at this location. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. I was very disappointed that the dishes were very salty. Our orders were mixed up. Not sure whose fault it was but we didn't enjoy our food. The waitress was attentive and apologized for the inconvenience for mixed up since our dishes came out late as well. I have been to many locations. I always love the food. Sadly, I was disappointed. I was looking forward to their pancakes. However, I do like decoration in restaurants since it was the holidays. Crackers Barrel always have cool things they sell.

My friends and I went here for lunch after peaches picking nearby. I love the Cracker Barrel restaurant chain. It's one of my favorite wholesome American eatin' when we are on the road. The prices are reasonable and there is a dish for everyone. The hostess informed us the chicken pot pie was the special of the day. All three of us ordered it. It was delicious. The crust was cooked to perfection. The inside was filled with a lot chicken and vegetables. I enjoyed it a lot. I'm glad that I went with the unsweetened ice tea. My friend ordered the peach one and she told me that it was too sweet for her. I would definitely go to another Cracker Barrel in the future.

Beignet biscuits are new to their menu. We love beignets so we ordered them. Good but messy when you bite into them!!

Always a great meal here! Large portions and great selection. Amelia was our waitress and despite it being so busy she was always asking if we needed anything. Saw they have a new rewards program. Signed up and have an appetizer ready for free next time!! It was warm outside so no cozy fireplace roaring!!

The exception is Grounded for Life, which offers delicious breakfast and lunch options that are thoughtfully prepared, delicious, and satisfying. Their extensive, all vegan menu offers breakfast options such as bagel sandwiches, burritos, toasts, and more, and even their coffee is surprisingly good! I have also enjoyed their wraps, bowls, and sandwiches. And they even have burgers and hot dogs, too. GfL is my new spot for takeout (order ahead online to save time!) before heading to the airport. The chunky chicken wrap saved me when my flight back to the West coast (already a long journey) was delayed by several hours and I was starving. The cafe also has a number of yummy desserts displayed in the case that are great to-go. GfL also offers a "Meal Prep" option where you can order food on a weekly or monthly basis. Service is friendly and efficient, but they are sometimes understaffed. Try to be patient and nice, and your tasty food will be out soon enough. The cafe itself is pretty small with just a few tables indoors. The outdoor patio is more expansive, and I recommend enjoying your food and drinks outside if the weather is decent.

Once you enter through the store, there is a sign to wait to be seated. The place has a nice and bright rustic vibe to it. I really liked the decor and table setup. The potato was shaped like the Fritos scoop chip, and the cheese dip that came with it had chunks of cheese in a melted cheese sauce. For my main, got the pulled pork sandwich ($16), which came in a pretzel knot bun and creamy slaw. It was solid meal and very filling. Other mains ordered were the roast beef "pho" style sandwich ($16) which I had a bite of and it was good and not what I expected thinking roast beef. Roast turkey ($16) was warm and also tasty. Each of the mains came with a side of potato salad. I will be back to try the sloppy Joe and their dinner meals. There are so many nice places to sit outside with a bottle of wine and a book or snacks. Rooms are very unique and comfortable. You have a lot of different personalities to choose from: lofts, cabins, barn spaces, etc. Many have jacuzzis which can provide your evening entertainment, lol. We have not eaten in the restaurant because our top restaurant on earth is very close by, but when it was closed, Josh gave us great recommendations. And he made a lovely tofu scramble for breakfast as a special request. One sweet touch: despite checking the room, we left without my spouse's expensive phone charger. Housekeeping found it and ran after us before we could drive off without it. She did not have to do that. Always tip your housekeeping staff. The extended Covid months have been very hard on inns, restaurants, and event spaces, and it must be stressful for them as things come back to life when so many events have been postponed. The inn itself is an architectural delight, as well, so you are surrounded by beauty on all sides. Service was pleasant and forthcoming. I wouldn't say that this is the finest level of dining, of course, you're not expecting EMP in the middle of Bucks County, but this is a good attempt, and people are pleasant and quite dignified. The guests were all well attired and the crowd is polite and kind. Food is of the adventurous character, which I enjoy. A lot of different flavor combinations (they like to do salé and sucré), beautiful plating, interesting textures, and good cooking techniques. My favorites were the octopus appetizer (so buttery soft and tender, which is a rarity) and the pheasant special, which was a pleasant and apropos surprise in this outdoor, country setting. Finally, this is a BYOB restaurant with perfectly selected wine glasses, fine silverware, and other special touches such as a freshly starched linens, etc. which elevate the dining experience.

The couple things I want to note are around how long it was to wait for a table and food. We arrived in the area around 1125am and I called to place my name on the wait-list. Upon answering, the hostess informed me you have to place your name on the waitlist in person. No issue, I walked over to do this. Only to find out that the waitlist is monitored by Yelp, which can easily be done online. So that was very frustrating to see at the start. We then were told to wait 15-20 minutes. When we got to the front of the list, they then informed us that we needed to wait an additional 20-30 minutes as the kitchen needed to flip. This was very confusing and a big turn off. Eventually, I spoke with a woman who allowed us to come inside and sit down instead of waiting outside for over an hour. It would have been nice to know at the outset of this whole interaction that breakfast wasn't going to be an option and then it would be an hour before we could order and eat. At the end of the day, we ate our great food and enjoyed being able to dine at this place. I will just look into a few more places on my next visit here.
