    Stiff cold, mashed potato

We chose this restaurant for our anniversary dinner and were really looking forward to a relaxed, enjoyable evening. Unfortunately, the entire experience felt rushed and disorganized from the start, and it quickly went downhill. We were pressured to place our entrée orders before our appetizers even arrived. We explained multiple times that we wanted to wait until the appetizers were served our son was deciding whether he wanted to order the same dish again. Despite this, the server kept returning to ask for entrée orders. Two of us received our appetizers, while the other two waited over 30 minutes. Even during that wait, we were repeatedly rushed to order entrées, which made the evening feel stressful instead of celebratory. For appetizers, one of us ordered the Seared Teriyaki Beef Tidbits, which were enjoyed. Another ordered the coconut shrimp, which was described as very bland. When we finally placed our entrée orders, three of us ordered prime rib (medium), and one ordered the teriyaki beef again. From there, everything fell apart. The teriyaki beef entrée was overwhelmingly salty so much so that it was completely inedible, as if an entire bottle of salt had been poured on it. My prime rib was sent back twice because it was not cooked to medium; it arrived well-done both times. When I pointed this out, the server blamed the lighting rather than acknowledging the issue. My husband's meal was overcooked the first time and raw the second. The lack of consistency was incredibly disappointing, especially for an anniversary dinner. The potatoes were stiff and so firm they could practically stand upright on a fork. The drinks were extremely watered down. Even our kids commented that their food was overly salty. We never complain or write negative reviews, which makes this especially hard to share. This experience was genuinely heartbreaking, and we left feeling disappointed rather than celebrated. We didn't even stay for what we assume may have been an anniversary dessert we were simply done. I'm sharing this not to be harsh, but because the restaurant needs to know. We hope this feedback helps prevent other guests from having the same experience.

4.5 Stars I don't understand why this spot is sub 4 stars. It's a spot right on the Spokane river with magnificent views, and such unique vibes - it's half old time pub (no river views, but TVs), half rustic cabin (the half with the river views). They serve up yummy gourmet seafood and steak dishes. I tried - French Onion Soup ($12) - I was surprised at how good this was! Flavorful broth and caramelized onions with LOTS AND LOTS of gooey cheese and a bit of bread. Blackened Rockfish ($27) - The Fish was fresh and seasoned wonderfully, and the herb couscous was the perfect complement. And OMG that Beurre Blanc sauce I could drink it. I'm glad I only had a little tureen of it. Yo girl is getting chonky. I'll leave room for dessert next time ;) Seems like a great place for celebrating a birthday (free dessert!) since I noticed few tables celebrating their birthday. The hostess is lovely and Danielle is the coolest!

I can see why people like this place. It's cozy, has beautiful views, variety of menu offerings, friendly service. The lighting was terrible so the photos look bad . This reminds me of the old Black Angus restaurants, which were popular in Seattle. They offer seafood and a really good prime rib. I wasn't blown away by the food as everything tasted basic, but it was good.

Clinkerdagger is such a fun spot! The patio is amazing right on the water and the atmosphere inside was eclectic. The charcuterie board was delicious and we devoured it! My crab and shrimp pasta was delicious and I would absolutely come back again! Highly recommend if you're in the area!

Great ambiance ! Great views !! Wine was a good pour ! My stake was terrific and the chocolate cake was yummy . The waitress was on fire and knowledgeable ! We all will go back again and again and again !

So sad about this review but it needs to be heard, not only by potential diners, but by Clink's kitchen. I despise leaving negative reviews- especially at a place I've been going to since I can remember and will definitely go back to despite this specific experience. We hadn't been to Clink's yet this year so took friends from out of town for lunch- we highly recommended their clam chowder, which was a disappointment.... VERY watery and lacking flavor in a major way. I got a Caesar salad, per usual- the dressing was also watery and bland, while the lettuce was so cold in parts (almost frozen). We hardly touched the soups or Caesar. Our food took forever, everyone else around us who sat after us were done with their meals when ours finally came out, and apparently it was because the new chef messed up my cod sandwich- but oh well because these things happen and they attempted to make up for it with free desserts, which was nice. They have updated their menu a bunch recently- I enjoy their new 'lunch box' options, which comes with sides; I thought the Rock Fish was great, however it could have all been a warmer temp for sure. My cod sandwich was just ok- WAY too big pieces of cod for a sandwich as I could only eat one on there, and it became a mess- it wasn't very flavorful (mostly the coleslaw was lacking I think). Pea salad was awesome of course- always our fav. Our server was sweet and attentive, and we know none of the meal mishaps were her fault. Desserts were meh; the burnt cream was better than last year when we came, so that's good. This was a bummer, especially because Clink's is so nostalgic for us and the price point is more high- with dining out I don't expect too much these days but they really need to get their soup and Caesar figured out at the very least!

I have to preface that my experience is based off a huge blocked off party dinner and not a typical dine in experience. For my meals I got the French onion soup, Cesar salad, filet mignon , and Crème brûlée. French onion was just on the barlely warm side. If it was warmer it would've tasted so much better. Cesar salad had a weird bitterness aftertaste instead of a saltiness.Fillet mignon and shrimp were not seasoned but were cooked to the right temperature. After adding some salt it made it much better. The staff were definitely understaffed when it came to the service. Overall my experience was a bit of a letdown just due to the size of my party, but I bet it would've been better if it was a smaller group.

While visiting the Spokane area, we dined inside the Clinkerdagger. Located in an old building along Spokane's historic riverfront, the Clinkerdagger has a variety of food. With the weather being sunny and warm, we chose to sit on the outdoor patio. We enjoyed cocktails, the coconut shrimp appetizer and our entrees. I had their prime rib and the hubs had the salmon pasta. Service was great and food was delicious!

4.5 star rounded up to 5. Enjoyed lunch here. We were seated and the view was so pretty! (We aren't from the area so that was an extra simple pleasure while we dined). Our waitress (I wish I remembered her name) was awesome!! She said she had worked there for about 15 years and knew the menu well to make suggestions, checked in us often, and made our experience a great one! Ordered two entrees. The oven roasted chicken Dijon - the chicken was just ok, but the mashed potatoes were really flavorful. The salmon dish was great all around. The salmon was blackened (suggested by waitress) and the pomegranate reduction that was served with it was very good. That entree was definitely the winner out of the two! We ordered two desserts; carrot cake and key lime pie. I'm not a Keylime pie person, but the waitress recommended it and said that they had the best and she wasn't wrong! She said they make it from scratch in kitchen daily and it was really, really good!! The Bourbon Street carrot cake was a twist on traditional carrot cake, but with also very flavorful and good.

Overview: A very disappointing meal on Christmas Day. Food: The entrees at Clinkerdagger simply missed the mark and displayed a lack of skill in the fundamentals of food preparation. Pork chop- ordered medium well and it was served rare. Had to send it back and waited 15 minutes for it to be cooked properly. And the potatoes with the pork chop were not cooked. I'm not talking about al dante. The potatoes were simply not fully cooked. Prime Rib- mediocre quality and insanely over salted. The mashed potatoes were also severely over salted. Desserts were decent but nothing special. Service: Decent service on a busy evening but not exceptional Ambiance: quirky antique local vibe overlooking the river Value: Given the poor food quality, poor value Overall cleanliness: average Bathroom cleanliness: average

Came here for Christmas dinner. I chose this place because it was open and walking distance from the hotel, and the menu could accommodate all palates. I would only recommend salad and clam chowder. For main dishes everything was way too salty and missed the mark. Service: very slow and not attentive. Plus our table had a problem so everything was sliding around. Food: it was a fixed dinner menu. I got the salad and balsamic dressing. My husband got the clam chowder. The salad was well done and fresh and nice dressing. The clam chowder was spot on and delicious with chunks of clam that you could see and taste. I ordered the pork chop and requested that it be cooked medium well. It came out medium rare! I sent it back. The pork chop was so salty! The potatoes were undercooked. The carrots and green beans were undercooked but just the way I like it. My husband ordered the prime rib dinner. The prime rib was over salty. That was the overwhelming flavor and way too fatty. The dessert was a deep rich chocolate cake. It was rich. The key lime pie was more like lemon pie. Restaurant cleanliness: above average

    Crab and Shrimp Fettuccine

Despite having a reservation for 7 pm, the restaurant made us wait ten minutes before seating us. Guests who had reservations scheduled after ours were seated before we were, which I found to be pretty frustrating, especially since we arrived on time. The restaurant has a dark, upscale atmosphere and was packed which we hoped meant the food would be delicious and we definitely weren't disappointed. As an appetizer, we got the crab and artichoke dip. It was really creamy and paired well with the crunchy baguette. Personally I loved that the dip didn't have any spinach in it because I'm intolerant to it, so I appreciated that I was also able to enjoy the appetizer. Definitely do not come here if you are hungry. We didn't get served until more than an hour after we were seated. Thankfully, the cosy atmosphere didn't make it feel like we were waiting forever, and my family enjoyed catching up while we waited for our food. But by the time our food did come we were definitely starving. My mom's seafood trio was cooked to perfection. The scallops were not at all rubbery, I loved how perfectly the seafood paired with the glaze. The garlic shrimp were perfectly cooked and seasoned and I loved the texture of the salmon. My mom is a seafood lover, and she adored her dish. My dad and I both ordered the crab and shrimp fettuccine, and I was grateful that they were able to accommodate me and make my dish without spinach. I thought the pasta was well done and the white wine sauce was delectable. The portions for everything were huge and we had plenty of leftovers for the next day. My sister and I shared the fettuccine along with a side of lobster mac & cheese which was to die for. We adored how creamy the cheese was and paired with the lobster, it made for a really filling meal. Between the two of us, we were barely able to make it through half the dish, even though it was so delicious that we wanted to keep eating. For dessert, we picked out the bread pudding which was absolutely delicious. Bread pudding is a favourite in our family and Clinkerdagger's is well-made and definitely on par with other ones we've tried, though it didn't stand out. My sister paired that with a latte, and I got the Java & Velvet. I thought my drink was the perfect blend of sweet with a kick of coffee. (Sorry the pictures are all red, the lighting in the restaurant was wack and I didn't want to be disruptive and use my flash.)

Came in for a happy hour and had the best time. Wonderful wonderful food and exceptional cocktails. The fried deviled eggs were out of this world and after watching the bartender thoughtfully assemble an impresso cocktail with espresso liqueur and heavy cream, he made one for us too. Delicious. Like tiramisu in a glass. And such an old fashioned quiet and dark space - perfect for a romantic getaway on a sunny afternoon.

Honestly, Wooden City really lives up to its hype. It's an upscale spot right in downtown Spokane,…read morebut still feels warm and lively instead of overly formal. Definitely one of the best-quality restaurants in the city, where every dish was thoughtfully made and packed with flavor. What we ordered: Starters: - Spring Salad: Super fresh and well-balanced. The snap peas were crisp, with strawberries added for sweetness, and the goat cheese + pistachios gave it a creamy, nutty contrast. The lemon & tarragon vinaigrette tied everything together with a light, herby flavor. - Jerk Cauliflower: Crunchy cauliflower with Caribbean spices with a creamy jerk sauce, good as a side Appetizers: - Peel 'n' Eat Shrimp: Really juicy and spicy from the Cajun spice. There's butter to dip in but I found it too greasy and prefer lemon instead. - Blistered Hungarian Peppers: Smoky pepper with some sweetness and savory from the sausage and cheddar. Served with a toasted focaccia that soak up all the sauce. Main dishes: - Chicken Schnitzel: One of the must-orders. Crispy, golden breading, super tender inside. The lemon & caper butter sauce added acidity and richness that elevated the whole dish. Yoy have to order extra because it's never enough for the table. Yes, it's that good. - Marbled Duroc Pork Chop: Another favorite . Juicy and tender, with 'nduja salsa brava bringing a spicy depth, while lemon tahini and marcona almonds added creaminess and crunch. I always missed tasting this dish like my first time - Beet Ravioli: Earthy and slightly sweet flavor, nice texture but I hate goat cheese so I'm not really a fan of this dish - Pesto Bacon Pizza: Delicious crunch, loved the combo of mozzarella and gorgonzola, kind of creamy with a bit of funk. Balsamic do help balance and gave it a sweet tangy flavor, or else it would be too heavy for me (yes, not a pizza fan) Drinks & Dessert - Not Mai Tai mocktail: very aesthetically looking drink, but a bit too sweet to my liking - Apple crisp: cozy and warm, with baked apple & pecan crumble and served with vanilla ice cream on top. Delicious ice cream. - Pumpkin cheesecake: My 3rd favorite of the night, I still dream about it!! Rich, smooth, and perfectly spiced, you shouldn't skip this!!! That said, I do have to take away a couple points for timing. Our foods took 45 mins to come out even though I had reservations and note the menu items via the email, and the wait time between each dish was also... very confusing. It broke the flow of our meal. But once the food hit the table, it was hard to stay mad, so I forgave them.

Tonight was just so strange. First, I had no idea who was an employee. There were two girls that were going around together over and over, they kept stopping at tables so I think they worked there...but they never had anything in their hands. Our server seemed to keep forgetting we were there. Or just forgetting she was employed in general. Seriously just not with it. She was very nice...when she remembered we were there. I will say the pizza crust tasted amazing. So many places that serve pizza think of the crust as just something to put toppings on, but this had great flavor. Sadly, it was rolled too thin and said toppings made it somewhat soggy. Caesar salad was ok. Romaine was really fresh and crisp and the homemade croutons were still a little warm. Very good. However, the dressing was rather bland. And when I asked for pepper for it, our waitress first had it in her head that I expected some kind of peppers on my salad. When she finally understood I meant black pepper, she went away. Eventually she returned. Not with a pepper grinder or a shaker, but a sauce bowl that had about 3 tablespoons of black pepper in it. I wouldn't use that much pepper if I cooked for myself for a week and used it with every dish. Had to ask for knives for some of people's meals. I will say the spicy lamb rigatoni was amazing, pasta just right and the sauce and flavor was peak. I am just not sure what to say, other than this was the strangest and most disorganized dining experience I have ever had. I think if a grown up showed up and brought the kids into line, this place would be amazing. Also, for what we paid, I expected to be wowed, not left wondering what I just experienced.

I was able to sit immediately. The staff is very amiable and the hostess made the recommendation that I try the Caprese Benedict, which had fried tomatoes in place of bread, fresh basil and blood orange balsamic drizzle. They offer the option of one or two Benedict, which is nice if you aren't super hungry. They also give the option to smother the hashbrowns and cheese, which I obviously opted into. The menu is absolutely massive though, so if Benedict's or even breakfast aren't your jam, you should be able to find something that suits your fancy. Also worth noting that they offer a very wide variety of gourmet flavors of house-made juices (7 or 8) for mimosas, like honeydew melon mint which I tried as a soda with soda water since I was driving.

Vegetarians have difficult time here except for carb heavy foods. But really enjoyed the Brussel…read moresprouts chips salad. One of the best salad ideas and very flavorful and savory. The Pinot Noir was excellent and had great depth on the nose and palate while still light in color. Wife and kids loved the food as well. The ribeye was medium well and my wife say it was still soft. The kids menu was large enough for my kids for feel full as well and I took some of their fries which was actually very well seasoned. Service was excellent as well and they ended up closing late for us which was very much appreciated.

Their menu is very interesting, it definitely tells a new American story with a lot of influence, but holds traditional to a new American style. The service is incredible. Everyone seems so happy and alive. Every single thing that we got was perfect. The port flight was quite a steal at $20. We were excited to try some different items, but were even more thrilled when it came out with some amazing chocolate. The bread puffs that come before the meal are to die for, and we got a taquito appetizer that was super filling, fresh, vibrant, and a little unique too. I wish we didn't live all the way across the country! This is a must stop in Spokane for a lovely and memorable meal.

My second time at this restaurant. Never disappoints. Truly...doesn't disappoint…read more To get down to the nitty gritty: I never had chicken meat melt of the bone. Yes, the chicken meat was so flavorful, and so tender...never experienced something like this. I told the bartender to give compliments to the chef. Behold-one of the chefs came out to greet my GF and I. Now, I got to say...you get what you pay for. It's not cheap. But, if you have money, or if you want to make an impression, by all means, this is the place. Quaint, nicely decorated place. Low light, quiet, everyone is happy. But, again, go for the food. Everything else is a plus. My first visit was a year ago. I had a fish dish. I'm asking myself why it took so long to go back! Dress nicely, you'll feel important.

Extremely extremely extremely underwhelming for a $148 tab…read more The leisurely is an option where the entire table has to participate. They charge you $57 a person, and you share the meal. I felt as if our server should have told us immediately that this was a shared option, but even then to make every person pay $57 is nuts for the portion of food that you receive. We are content creator, so we happen to record every dish that we received. ( the leisurely) First thing they brought out was roasted nuts and marinated olives. (6/10). Some of the olives were hard, but the roasted nuts were pretty good. 2. My wife is allergic to shrimp so they were gonna bring out the grilled ponds but instead the chef decided to bring out brussels sprouts. (2/10). It was awful. I almost gagged legitimately, and my wife felt the same, the brussels sprouts also had a foul smell to them as if they were spoiled. - it was paired with the winter salad. In my opinion, that was the second best thing that they brought out. It was very rich in flavor, colorful as well. 3. They then brought out some pasta. Tagliatelle Pasta. This is the best thing that they brought out. The noodles were fresh and the meat choice ( roast) paired very well and it was mildly flavorful, enough to swing both ways but we'd say it swung in the right direction. I'd give it 8.5/10. 4. They then brought out steelhead trout with couscous and cauliflower with roasted carrots. - I think the audacity to give two full grown adults. A 1/3 portion of fish is quite literally disrespectful. It was so disrespectful until it just made me want to leave even more than I did whenever they brought out the brussels sprouts. The piece of fish itself was not seasoned, but it happened to pair slightly with the couscous and whatever sauce. It was quinoa actually.. (6.5/10) flavor wise. I hate really complaining about food, but this was so underwhelming.. that I may have contested the bill if my baby didn't poop out of his clothes during the visit. I will likely update this review with all of the photos once we upload the video just so everyone get an idea. ---- Overall, we would've been much happier, ordering individual dishes off the menu. I don't want to shit all over this place because I do believe it has potential, but I would not advise anyone to do the leisurely. The couple behind us actually didn't eat any of their food either and they apparently chose the same option and she was very upset so I'm glad that we weren't the only ones. I don't think we will return back to this restaurant. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone either.
