Really enjoyable; Spokane at its most presentable. It's kind of been king of the hill for so long it's kind of gotten long in the tooth. Tables are close to each other, the food is very good but occasionally you'll get something over cooked or whatnot. Service is usually excellent but the staff is very busy so you can get a wee bit ignored; I've learned to order my second glass of wine to come with the meal, otherwise you're getting it as you finish eating and nobody wants that! I'm a stickler for good service. It absolutely makes or breaks the dining experience in my opinion. Having a waiter with great timing is rare. We had one. Christmas Day Review I made reservations a week before Christmas, the only seating left was 8 pm. When we arrived, Clinkerdagger was glowing in its Christmas glory and a buzz. The snow and huge icicles hanging outside the windows adds to the festive atmosphere. Despite a long day, the staff was as cheerful as always. As the evening played out, our server spent additional time at our table because the restaurant was starting to clear out. Our major disappointment was all the great menu items were sold out (like Prime Rib). What?????? Yep, the most traditional Christmas dinner item was nowhere to be found. Two couples out to celebrate a milestone. went to dinner on 5/28/25. we were seated at 5:40. Never saw our waitress until 6:10. took our drink order. Another 30 minute wait for our drinks. we were here already an hour. Got our food. All four plates were barely lukewarm. Sent them back. Food came back, meats were warmer, but sides were still cold. They offered free desert for the two hours wait. We were in the place for three hours! When we left , there was a twelve car back up to get out. We had a perfect anniversary dinner at Clinkerdagger's. We were seated at a table next to the windows that gave us a view of the beautiful Spokane River; the best view in Spokane. We started with the coconut shrimp cocktail that is served with crispy little noodles (which I cleaned up!). We both ordered lobster tail dinners which came with baked potato wedges and sautéed vegetables. The lobster dinner is generous - you get two and again, I cleaned up every bite. We don't usually get dessert but it was a celebration so we ordered the Crème Brûlée and it was also perfect. Everything was amazing and flavorful and our waitress was friendly and wonderful. Ok the good news. My wife's seafood Alfredo was good, my daughter's wagyu steak was great. Now the not so good. The absolute worst prime rib I have ever tried to eat. Tasteless and even with the huge steak knife provided I barely was able to saw my way through . I am a fool for not saying anything about it at the time but everything else was ok. Very beautiful views and great food! Have been to Clinkerdagger twice, and both visits have been an absolute pleasure. The first visit we ordered the teriyaki beef tidbits which were incredible. The entrees were also very tasty, and we had no complaints. This second visit, we ordered the calamari which has fried squid and artichokes. The artichoke was a bit hard to chew, but overall the appetizer was good. My favorite of the afternoon was the French onion soup which I would highly recommend. We had a party of 11 and the service was excellent, with quick serving times and refills on drinks/wine. Of course, the best aspect of the restaurant is the amazing view of the Spokane river. We hadn't been to Clinkerdagger for several years. We used to go for all our celebrations and loved it so for my 70th birthday I wanted to go again. They made an extra effort to get us a window table for my birthday. We had 5 in our party. The prime rib was our favorite meal so my husband and I both ordered that. My son got the Chilean sea bass, his gf got the chop house burger and my 8 year old grandson got the burger. We had calamari and coconut shrimp for appetizers. I had the French onion soup and my son's gf got the pea salad. The bread they bring to the table is amazing! Our server Sean was fantastic!! Yes, it takes a while to get your meal but it's well worth the wait. The prime rib was perfectly medium rare and so tender it melted in your mouth! My son was over the moon about the sea bass and the risotto it is served on. The burgers were delicious. My husband ordered the Mac and cheese thinking it would come in a small scoop. Instead it was in its own dish and was enough to be a meal. It's so delicious!! The prime rib comes with mashed potatoes and green beans. The French onion soup is literally the best I've ever had. The service could not have been better! For dessert we had creme brulee, key lime pie, and bread pudding, all excellent. We left stuffed with lots of leftovers to take with us. This was the best way to celebrate my milestone birthday. We will be going back next week to celebrate my older grandson's 24th birthday. The beef was consistently tough between 4 different orders. The meat quality is terrible huge lines of gristle could've gone to Applebees and gotten a higher quality steak. I even heard another table complain that they couldn't even eat their prime rib because of how tough it was. This place also has a problem cooking vegetables all of our asparagus was under cooked and rock hard they even messed up the mashed potatoes. They tried to cover up the mistake with a free creme brûlée but it was literally like scrambled eggs in a cup of milk. This place has all the ambience you could ask for. Unfortunately, most of the awesome food of the past is a memory. The shrimp in the shrimp cocktail were not good. Unlike the fresh ones in the past these had an odd texture.Our salads were very good. Could not get the French onion soup because their special oven wasn't working. Dinner was ok. Service was very slow. The seafood that was being served near us didn't smell good. I took my friend and his family for a birthday celebration to my favorite dinner place. Right away we were seated for our reservation for 9 and got some drinks ordered. The service was the usual warm and attentive. We had a wonderful view of the river during sunset and it was lovely. We tried several dishes. Adults had fillet, scallops, and seafood trio (scallops, shrimp, salmon). The two fillets were medium rare and medium well. The rare steak was the perfect temperature, but the well was too well done and dry (should have been closer to medium). Perhaps we should have sent it back, but they were hungry. The scallops were amazing with excellent cheese encrusted crispy finish and a creamy sauce. The seafood trio also had good scallops, with nice sauce and tasty shrimp. The salmon was perfectly cooked and had lovely veg. The kids had burgers and fish & chips. There were no complaints down at the end of the table. The fish were nicely battered and the chips looked crispy (not oily). The burgers were served on a brioche bun and was something I would likely like to order for lunch. The dessert was amazing. Two adults had the crème brûlée with cream and enjoyed it immensely. The other two adults had the strawberry cheesecake and it was equally amazing. Very fresh and creamy. The kids had sundaes and molten chocolate and raspberry cake. The sundaes were readily devoured and the molten cake was a hit. We had one girl making sure to get every last drop of chocolate and raspberry sauce off the plate. We also loved the wine we chose. The Prosecco was wonderful bubbly enjoyment worthy of a celebration and the St Michelle red was equally enjoyed with steak. All in all a wonderful meal and celebration! We had so much fun that we didn't notice we stayed past their closing and no one else was in the dinning room. So kind of the servers to not rush us out and top notch service. The view outside of the patio was beautiful, but the service was super slow and the food was mediocre. We had to wait over 40 minutes between our appetizer and entrees! They weren't even apologetic about how long the food took to come out. The crab dip was good, but the crab cakes I got were super salty and inedible. My friends got the salmon and mahi, both said they were fine but nothing special. For the price, I wouldn't come again and would look for a different restaurant on the waterfront. read more

We flew in from California for a weekend trip to Spokane. Really love this place! The ambience & lighting gives it a real cozy feel to the place. We were lucky to get a seat by the widow, with stunning views of the river. Food was amazing! We ordered the Warm Brie with Macadamia Nut Crust as an appetizer. And the clam chowder was really good. Also ordered the Salmon with Fingerling Potatoes & Spring Veggies. The Salmon & Fingerling Potatoes were cooked to perfection. However the green beans could have been cooked a little longer. I love a snap to my veggies, but the green beans were a bit too raw. Overall we had a great experience. Food & Drinks were delicious, great atmosphere, and great customer service.
