Everytime I go here, I fall in love with the menu. I'm a big fan of Asian fusion and cleaver koi does a great job of bringing those flavors in their food. They have so many good options from kimchi rice to delicious ramen. They even won an award for best ramen in AZ and I couldn't agree anymore! My most recent trip we went with the pork belly ramen, tuna chips and various buns. Man that ramen was incredible! The broth was a delicious pork broth with a nice thick slices of port belly with a great portion of noodles and kimchi. I'll eat that any day of the week! It's amazing! The tuna chips we're good and light, but I do think there should of been some more tuna all around. Seemed a little light but the taste was still good. The buns are too delicious cause we went with the pork belly, kimchi cauliflower and the chicken and waffle. All of them were great in their own way to savory and sweet flavors. Can't go wrong with any choice. All around this place has everything with vegan and vegetarian options with a great environment. I came here for lunch with my sister on a Saturday afternoon. They do have the option of making reservations so that's always a plus in my book. I started with a Mai Tai cocktail, and holy crap this was strong! I wasn't expecting that at all because this cocktail is typically pretty fruity. For food, we shared everything and ordered the pork ramen and added spam as well as three steam buns. The pork belly, crab & korean hot chicken. The broth for the ramen was excellent. All 3 steam buns were actually really good. The chicken was definitely VERY spicy, hence the name. They ended up bringing us two orders of our steam buns by mistake and let us keep the additional one at no cost, which is very good customer service. This was my first time here and I definitely really enjoyed everything and the customer service was great. I think the only downfall for me is I thought they were a bit pricey. First Time diners at the Clever Koi in Gilbert. The hospitality was great everyone was super attentive and the location was relatively busy. We ordered the Pork Ramen, Thai Salad and two alcohol beverages (Mojito and a Moscow Mule) from the menu. The drinks were fantastic we had to two rounds. The Mule was prepared differently both drinks were refresh with great consistency. The Thai salad was very light and flavorful with different taste combinations. It was a great size to share. (No images available we ate it as soon as it got to the table) We were not as satisfied with our ramen it appeared to be missing something and was not as authentic as we'd hope for from an Asian branded concept. We were however really glad to hear that the concept is a scratch kitchen, AZ-grown ingredients and incorporated locally-made products whenever possible. Had a great experience here with my family. I got the Thai Salad which was an appetizer but was plenty big enough for a meal. My daughter got the Pork Ramen she loved it. My husband got the Kimchi Ramen and was very good. Both were large portions and had leftovers to bring home. We also got the calamari fries, really yummy. We ate outside, great Vibe and atmosphere. Tonight was my first night at Clever Koi. I was craving a bowl of ramen and my guests that arrived after me wanted to drink some alcoholic beverages, so they suggested this in Downtown Gilbert. I was excited to try it as soon as I set foot in this establishment as I liked the atmosphere and the hostess was great! Eventually, I began to regret my decision. I was the first individual of my party to arrive, and then my guests came. There were three of us total for the outing, so the pink haired waitress gave us three menus. I was the only individual that ordered food, so she took my menu, which was fine, but then the waitress rudely took one of my guests's menus even though my guest wanted to keep their menu since the alcoholic drink menu is on the back of the food menu. I thought this was rude of the waitress to do, as she said to my guest "Why do you need two menus? Isn't one enough?" and took the menu from my guest. Truly, I liked the food. I was starving for ramen, which hit the spot by the way (Good portion and not bad of a tonkotsu ramen!), but I felt upset that the waitress treated my guest so rudely. I would easily say that the pink haired waitress's attitude somewhat soiled this experience for myself and my guests. They had infused kim chi into the broth which was a bold choice that didn't play well with me. Also the pork belly was excessively fatty - yes I know it's supposed to be fatty but there was only like a centimeter of meat meat included. Service was subpar.
