Asian Cafe Express somehow managed to preserve what made those older places special. We almost always order from the Chinese menu rather than the more standard tourist-oriented side of the menu, and the difference is absolutely worth it. The salt and pepper pork chop remains one of my favorite dishes here -- beautifully crisp, savory, aromatic, and addictive in all the right ways. The chicken curry is another standout, with a deeply flavorful sauce that has a wonderful spicy richness without becoming overwhelming. Though if you're spice-sensitive, they are happy to tone it down for you. Everything tastes freshly prepared, vibrant, and full of the kind of layered flavor that tells you the kitchen actually knows what it's doing.
