Had a delicious meal in this cozy spot on McArthur Blvd. Clearly a great addition to the neighborhood. I have always liked the sister restaurant Et Voila so was excited to try this one. Our group had the Osso Bucco, scallops with squid ink, carbonara and Cacio e Pepe. All of the dishes were delicious but the carbonara and Osso Bucco were likely the best. We started with salads and fried artichokes which were all plentiful and delicious. Canollis were good too. Portion sizes were just right - I left satisfied but not uncomfortable. It is hard to decide which made our dinner experience worse, the food or the ambiance at Claudio's Table. To begin with, the restaurant has jammed in as many tables as could possibly fit in its fairly limited space. Not only were we uncomfortably close to our neighbors, but, due to a lack of acoustic insulation, we could hear several tables' worth of conversation better than our own. During COVID, we had avoided Et Voila! (Claudio's other restaurant) because of the packed in diners. Apparently, Claudio has determined to replicate this ambiance here. We ordered the vitello tonnato appetizer, the eggplant parmesan, the Casarecce Al Ragu Napoletano plus two glasses of an Italian wine. Vitello tonnato usually consists of very thin sliced meat covered by a light, creamy tuna-based sauce. Claudios vitella tonnato contained meat accompanied by a thick, white-ish lump of sauce and unidentifiable pieces of garnish. The pasta dish was overcooked, unsalted and generally tasteless. The eggplant parmesan did contain both eggplant and cheese, unlayered, and was served (without any accompanying pasta or other side dish) in its copper cooking pot. When we asked for bread, we were given three slices, for which we were charged $3.95. We were also given the explanation that "Italians don't eat bread." This meal cost $107.70. read more

New restaurant in the Palisades opened by the owner of Et Voila down the street. Like Et Voila, the food is impeccably done: very delicious. We had the pasta with the Neapolitan ragu, the margarita pizza, the pasta all vongole and the gnocchi. Also the grossini (warm and freshly made) and their version of Caesar salad were great. Very high quality and good sized portions. The service is attentive but not overbearing. The feel is casual: the decor is simple and not fancy, the plants in the window out front are plastic and no one is dressed up, it feels very much like a neighborhood place. The only thing that wasn't consistent with a casual neighborhood joint are the prices. However, that is pretty common for all restaurants these days. Food was mediocre to very bad. Some of the practices were scammy and dishonest - such having you order sets but not disclosing what options are or after telling you the options are not available. The facility is not very clean and a bit of a clunky mess. They appear understaffed, there is only one server. Delivery is very slow. Would not recommend. Also extremely overpriced read more

Disappointed. Had been excited to try this place. Ordered takeout and was underwhelmed. The arugula salad was a handful of chopped romaine (!). The bruschetta was a few grilled pieces of pita bread (not how it's done folks!) and some tasty enough dips. The Polpo was two tiny strips of octopus swimming in white sauce. The food it's just OK nothing special to speak about. I know the restaurant has received a lot of hype, but don't believe everything you read. They just announced that they are now increasing the price of their Sunday lasagna because of demand . This just reinforces my opinion that they are just out for the mighty dollar. read more

Place is really a great dining experience. The ambiance is nice, service is excellent, and food is excellent. Our branzino was a nice filet, served with a nice sauce over it and a wilted Swiss chard, kale and tiny crouton bed; overall a great dish. Also enjoyed the salads and the gnocchi. We had an extraordinary dining experience at Claudio's Table last night. Not only was every mouthful a delight, but the wine was smooth yet earthy, and the service such that we felt like celebrities. We started with fried artichokes and pumpkin soup, and went on to share two different pastas, one with fresh clams, the other an exquisite bolognese. The service provided by Giovanni and Alex included decanting the wine, topping up the glasses and splitting the two pastas for us to share. Outstanding, Claudio. THANK YOU! read more

Just finished eating at Claudia's table. A phenomenal experience for our family of six. Scott was our server and he did a phenomenal job. We had a margarita pizza, the eggplant Parmesan, the Cacio e Pepe, and the Negroni was amazing. We highly recommend this new Italian restaurant for anybody in the Palisades, Bethesda or DC area. We wanted to love this place & were excited to get a reservation. The first impression was not great, we walked into a packed, loud restaurant (the acoustics are terrible!) with many disgruntled looking people hovering around the host desk. Twenty minutes later we got seated, & just like Et Violá, the tables are crammed together. On a brighter note, the service was excellent & the drinks/food came quickly..so quickly in fact, that we were done in 40 minutes. The food was tasty with portions on the small side. The pizzas looked great & another guest recommended the branzino. The menu is pretty limited & heavy on carbs. For 2 of us sharing the bruschetta, a pasta dish, eggplant parmigiana & 2 drinks, we paid just short of $100. It was OK, but nothing special. read more

our food was subpar for the second time going there, so that's that. Tuna crudo was terrible, cut improperly and inedible--waiter didnt take it off bill either. Cacio pepe was a butter soup with some pasta in it. Pizza was soggy. Porchetta was the most disappointing--the skin was not crispy--thats the entire point of the dish!! I had cacio e pepe, may as well have been pasta with butter and pepper, no richness to it whatsoever. My friend had the gnocchi which was better but still pretty underwhelming. Had high hopes for this place, may try again at some point. read more

Tried it for the first time after reading spectacular reviews but were sadly disappointed. The anchovy appetizer, which was a special, tasted like the same anchovies we buy in the can and was served with nice crusty bread but the butter was cold and hard so it was difficult to spread. The croquettes with prosciutto were quite tasty but two contained hard, inedible pieces of gristle that unfortunately extinguished any pleasant memory of the dish. The eggplant parmigiana was average and indistinguishable from what you may get in the prepared food section at an upscale grocery store. The suckling pig was the only dish that lived up to the expectation we had from reading the professional reviews. Based on these reviews I expect we just caught the restaurant on an off night but disappointing nonetheless. On a positive note, the service was very attentive and high quality. read more

My family and I have always had a great dining experience at Claudio's Table. The Arancini and Polpo are spectacular. The pastas are exceptional but the Vongole & Casarecce are the stars. The Branzino and the Porchetta are so good too. And there's Pizza!! Best Canoli and Tiramisu in the DMV too. The service is impeccable, very friendly and always accommodating. Love the open kitchen concept and the bar seating is the place to be. You won't walk away hungry! read more

We could not be more delighted to have another restaurant by Chef Claudio in our neighborhood! We've enjoyed the cacio e Pepe, multiple pizzas, the romaine salad (the yogurt dressing is fantastic), and the vitello tonnato (which is melt in your mouth amazing!). As with any new restaurant, there are hiccups but you can see how responsive the Chef and staff are to concerns - installing sound dampening panels, a curtain to block the draft by the door, etc. We are excited for our new neighbor and for many future meals here! read more

I have gone to Et Voila dozens of times and was eager to try Claudio's Table. Last night my wife and I went with another couple. I had the ossobuco, which was a special of the day, and it was delicious. It was an ample portion and came accompanied by a good but not great risotto. I had a glass of very good Barolo. My wife did not like her eggplant and said the eggplant is better at Pines of Rome in Bethesda, which is a cheap but good restaurant. Tables are very close together and it is quite noisy. My friend cautioned me against trying the place stating that the hostess was very rude and unprofessional; nevertheless, I decided to try this place with my family. We arrived a bit ahead of our 6:15 pm reservation time, the hostess refused to seat us despite the fact that there was an open table. She kept insisting that that table was reserved for a 6:00 pm party. However, 15 minutes later and while my kids were waiting outside in the cold, that table was still empty and the hostess still had not seated us. We had to leave and take our business elsewhere. So the restaurant lost the business of a 5-table top just because of the hostess' lack of professionalism. Neither I nor my friends and family would return to this place. read more

I'm giving this restaurant a meh. The place was absolutely packed when we arrived for a 7:30 reservation and there were about 15 other people standing in the doorway waiting for their tables with us. it took about 45 minutes before we actually got seated. I know scheduling reservations can be an Art but this was a bit of a fail. The wine list is actually very nice and our fried artichoke appetizer was really really good. I would not recommend getting a pasta. my cacio Pepe arrived seriously undercooked and crunchy. I did send it back and received a new plate after about 10 minutes. both my pasta and my dinner mates were swimming in so much sauce. It was almost like soup. Neither of us had a protein, so maybe that is the way to go at this place. The waitress was attentive, but she didn't inform us that the artichokes came with an arugula salad so we ordered an extra arugula salad when we didn't really need to. the cannoli were delicious, the place seems extremely popular with the neighborhood so this review is probably more for people who are on the fence about going to the palisades for dinner. read more

What an expensive and disappointing experience. The hostess did not acknowledge us as she talked on the phone. DO NOT SIT NEAR THE DOOR! I had to keep my puffy coat on because the cold air blasts every time a diner walks through the door. Our waiter had to confirm our drink order twice. My husband's entree was wrong so I had to start eating before he was served. We poured our own wine. The black truffle pasta was basically a heavy Alfredo with a gray substance grated on top with no discernible smell or taste of truffles. I ordered tuna crudo with nduja, which I thought was an odd combination, but wanted to try it. The tuna was bland and not enough nduja. I had to search for it. Also the plate was cluttered with garnishes of olives, parsley, etc., which made it hard to really taste anything. Used plates remained on the table. Not ready for prime time. We really wanted to love it. read more
