Ok what?! I did NOT know there was a self-serve boba place so close to me! I had walked in one day just to see what they had to offer and was pleasantly surprised and impressed by the food and drinks they had available and that the boba was self serve. The lady at the counter is fast, she's efficient and she's friendly. This place i guess is known for their boba because as I sat down to eat my food they had gotten swamped at least three times with groups wanting boba. It was i and one other person who sat down to eat. I wound up getting the crispy pork chop and pineapple curry rice (I love pineapple). The portion are big and the taste is flavorful. The establishment is clean and tidy. Overall this place is an amazing gem in the heart of the Downey Promenade and I will return for some other food. read more

Great customer service! I loved how we were immediately greeted when you walk into the door. I remember coming here when they first opened years ago. When do the things that I liked was being able to try different samples of the peace and smoothies available. I did not try a sample this time because I knew that I wanted that mango peach tea. Which is very delicious. I also ordered some food to go. The calamari was tasty, as well as two popcorn chicken. I wasn't quite a big fan of the popcorn chicken. I did order a regular and spicy and ended up getting too spicy orders which was a bit disappointing. Otherwise the restaurant look very clean and inviting. After picking up a prescription from the Kaiser pharmacy in Downey, my wife and I needed to satisfy our lunchtime hunger. So we proceeded to the nearby Promenade and landed at Class 302. I ordered the combo meal of cumin chicken and the house special noodle soup, while my wife ordered crispy pork chop and miso udon soup. The cumin chicken reminded me of popcorn chicken with a spicy kick to it. The house special noodle soup was a bland, beef broth, with pieces of fried tofu and a tea-soaked, hard-boiled egg. I did bite into a piece of star anise, which was a pleasant surprise. My wife found her pork chop and udon combo to be bland but acceptable. The selling point of Class 302 was the self-serve beverage bar, where you can serve your milk tea or smoothie beverage with the toppings of your choice (However, no refills). My wife served herself a medium-sized jasmine milk tea with egg pudding (I stuck to water). I don't know of any other place that allows you to make your own Boba, Bubble, jelly, etc. drinks. I love this place because of it. It's not a drink buffet with free refills but you get to add and mix anything you want for your drink. They usually, not always, have the small and regular size Boba, and they have over a dozen other items you can add to your drink. So you order at the counter, they give you empty cup and you begin to build your own drink. You can fill it completely with Boba if you want or just get your drink. Then when your cup is filled, you take it back to the counter where they will seal it. As for the drink options, they have plenty and you can also ask for small sample cups so that you can sample the drinks before committing. Not only do they have a great selection, the drinks are really good. They also have food. I rarely order Fried Rice as I feel like it's an easy dish to make at home but I ordered it here just for the heck of it and I don't know what it is about it, but I love it. It looks basic and kind of plain but there is something about this fried rice that I just love. I also tried their Spicy Basil Fried Rice. First it is actually spicy and it is strong with the basil flavor. I enjoyed it and would order it again but be warned, you need to like basil. I also ordered their Cumin Chicken and Crispy Pork Chop. Both were good and strong with the Cumin. This location is not a full on restaurant like some other locations so if you've been to the others, just know it is a small. They are located at the Promenade at Downey and have plenty of parking. Weather it's Class 302 Downey or Cerritos, it's a great choice for our favorite Thai Tea Frosty. Class 302 has the best blended Thai tea drink around. If you know of someplace better, let me know and I'm there to try it. The advantage at Downey is it's self serve so you can customize your drink your way. Packed very well for the drive home. The beef was a bit fatty and hard to chew, but the portion was large. Not wanting to stuff myself silly, I saved a few noodles in the fridge. Friendly female at the register. I almost went back to order a tea while I was waiting, however, Antman and a couple of his soldiers had seemingly been staking out the counter. No, you visit Class 302 for the unique opportunity to build your own beverage. This local restaurant is Yogurtland of bubble tea. Once you choose a size, you're able to pick and choose from a number of tea related beverages. Choices include options like green tea, taro milk tea, matcha milk tea, and even a variety of smoothies. Next up is toppings! Class 302 has a little of everything: traditional boba, pudding, jelly, etc. I filled up my cup with mango green tea and then topped it with pineapple popping jelly and crystal boba. I'm a fully believer that keeping it light on the toppings is the right way to go! The grand finale is passing off your drink to be sealed by a team member and then hearing that satisfying pop of your straw breaking the lid. I highly recommend this spot for boba enthusiasts and for kids who love to customize. Unfortunately due to covid there are no samples, and they don't provide refills. read more

Since visiting the KP Downey next door. A great place to grab a snack, food, and boba. This place let you create your own boba drinks and fast services with food. Seem like food are made to order but fast. I especially like their fried rice. It's not too oily and can see all the fresh ingredients. Easy to order and the lady in front is very nice. I had heard about the Irvine location in the past, but was happy to know there was one out here in Downey. Upon entering we paid for our cups and off we went to create our dream drinks. First stop was the boba, you will want to add a lot, but you will quickly realize how fast your cup fills up. I decided on mixing the different green teas they had available. To my surprise, the teas were all warm... This meant that you had to load up on the ice, which means less space for everything else. The teas themselves were pretty standard, nothing worth noting. I had a combo meal with fried pork chops and meat over rice. The pork chops are really good. They are deep fried so careful not to eat so much to clog your arteries. The meat over rice is not so tasty because they tried by garnishing the entree with Julianne pork, cilantro, egg, and mustard green. The ground meat was rather bland. I used to LOVE coming here with friends & family, but now avoid like the plague. The charm of this place is the cute decor which is now faded to some scuff marks on the floor and self-serve toppings which I'm starting to get concerned about after a recent trip. I came with my boyfriend and I got my usual, the strawberry shake option. Immediately after tasting it, I could tell it was rancid. It tasted awful, like rotten milk & strawberries. His choice of iced coffee was not an improvement either. It tasted burnt & rancid as well. I don't know if this is a cleanliness issue or genuinely an ingredients problem, but I am never spending money here again after getting two awful drinks. I've also seen machines be out of service so often it seems like they are never maintained or fixed. If the juices & coffee taste rotten, how fresh are the self-serve ingredients? The service is unremarkable. I was given a new cup to replace my nasty drink and I got the peach tea which tasted fine, but you only have to drink rotten strawberry juice once to put you off a place forever. This place desperately needs a paint job and more upkeep, because the quality of drinks is suffering and it's very obvious as a repeating customer. I have never tried the food and I probably wouldn't after having bad luck with the drinks. Skip this place and go to Boba Time or 7 Leaves instead. read more

Vegetarian review. The combos here are very well worth it. You choose a rice or a noodle base and you add a side to it, like popcorn chicken, pork chops, fried mushrooms, etc. It's nice since I usually have to get a fried rice and then a fried mushroom separately, and it costs more. More than fair amount of food. Service is a bit off putting. Not friendly or particularly helpful. My first time here, I had to dig around for info on how the combos worked, but they're not terrible. Downside (or upside if you don't care): you can't adjust the sweetness in your teas. I guess you just add unsweetened tea to the cup and that works?
