A couple days local means I'm back at Class 302. Absolutely a must for me to get a drink and decided to get some popcorn chicken to finish it off. Decent service today, and very busy!

Beef noodle soup

I ordered the beef noodle soup and I was disappointed it came out in a plastic bowl. I wanted to eat in for the restaurant experience and eating with plastic made my experience feel very cheap. The soup was way too salty. I went to a different location in the past and had a much more pleasant experience. Definitely not coming back.

Drinks: I got the Jasmine Milk Tea and it was sweet but really yummy. They have a ton of drink options and toppings, and it's self-serve which makes it fun to customize. They let you taste test the flavors before you decide, which is a nice touch. There's also food but I have yet to get the chance to try it. Service: The workers here are super friendly and conversational. I honestly enjoyed my time because of how chill and welcoming the staff was. They also seem to get along well with each other, which adds to the good vibe of the place. Ambiance: The shop is super clean and bright, with some seating available. It's definitely a popular spot, and it's easy to see why. Just a heads-up, Apple Maps says they close at 11pm, but they actually close at 10pm. So don't get upset with the staff for that if you come past 10pm!

It's rare to find a self-serve boba place nowadays, so I was looking forward to trying it! On a Saturday night, all the seating was full, but we had no issue getting around to our drinks. You pay for a certain size and are free to add anything you want (WOOO for unlimited toppings). It was such a fun experience to try all the flavors and choose from the variety of toppings. The boba was the perfect chewiness and sweetness. My only wish was that they had an option for unsweetened tea so that I could dilute some of the sweetness. Everything is pre-sweetened, and it was just a bit sweeter for my taste. This place is great if you're a fan of toppings, but not if you're looking for high-quality tea. For the reasonable price and unlimited toppings, I say Class 302 is worth a try!

The food here was surprisingly good. I really enjoyed the beef noodle soup and the taiwanese sausage. The noodles had good texture, the beef was tender, and the soup was very flavorful. I would definitely get it again. I wasn't the biggest fan of the pineapple curry fried rice. Maybe next time i'll try a different kind of fried rice. The staff was helpful and nice. I didn't get to try their drinks this visit, but I think i'll try them next time I visit

Lunch combo: Pineapple curry fried rice & bbq chicken

They have an amazing selection milk tea, tea, and smoothies. It is cool you could create your own drink. They have sample cups for you to try before you commit to a drink. You pay for the size of the cup and add as much topping as you want in your drink. My favorite is the Jasmine milk tea and milk tea. Their drinks are on the sweeter side, I am usually a 75% sweetness or less sweet person. So I love that you could ask them to add unsweetened green tea to balance out the sweetness. Their boba is a good chewy texture, just how I like it. Their food is good too. My usual is the pineapple curry fried rice and bbq chicken. Their popcorn chicken is a great choice as a snack.

This place is amazing! I came in not knowing what to expect, I saw the word boba on the windows and thought I'd try it out. The person ringing up everything did not greet anyone as they walked in and did not explain how things worked here. Another patron saw that I was lost and told me what to do. This place is basically a Yogurtland but for boba. You purchase your cup and fill it with choices of drinks that were lined up, there were even smoothie blends. Then you walk over to the toppings bar to top it off, then throw in your boba. Once finished, you walk back to the person who rang you up to seal the cup for you. Again, this lady was not personable. She just put the top on and pushed the cup toward me and walked away. I also ordered salmon fried rice which was not all that good. See the picture and make your own opinion. It lacked flavor and had way too many peas and carrots for my liking. The drink I chose was taro milk tea. I added taro jelly and of course boba! I'd come back again and try another food dish. I'll definitely be back for the taro milk tea with boba!

This place was fun and cute! You get to pay for the cup size and then can try all the teas and toppings before deciding what to put in your cup!! I really liked this experience as it was super unique. Only thing is the sweetness level is not adjustable. Service is nice and friendly.

302 Noodle Soup 肉燥湯麵, Steamed Broccoli 燙花 椰菜, Fried pork chop

Ok, we might just be idiots for not realizing that this is mostly a boba shop. They don't even have shaved snow - a sign near the register says that they stopped serving it in 2020, and pretty much everyone in the restaurant had boba - which we did not get. We got the popcorn chicken and fried rice combo, and the fried pork chop and house noodle soup. I asked for mild on the chicken, but it was so spicy I couldn't eat it. I actually asked them to remake it and the girl at there counter said they'd make it plain (she was nice about it). But I think they just replaced the spice with salt because it was really salty! The fried rice was greasy but reasonably tasty - it had little bits of crunchy salty pickled daikon in it, which I'd never had but was delicious! Bonus - it came with one piece of broccoli, so there was at least some veggie in my meal. Pork chop was boneless and decent. SO said the soup was not authentic. Overall, 3 stars.

Due to my deep disappointment at my last visit 6 years ago, I had not returned. But I figured 6 years is a long time, maybe things have drastically changed. I was sadly disappointed and mistaken. The fried rice was just as tasteless and salty, and the fried pork chop was just as greasy and paltry. The boba was still huge and decent. My recommendation is to skip the food and go straight to the self-assembled boba mix.

This is my go to spot for boba in Downey. It's a win b/c I serve myself 2 spoonfuls of boba in it. I'm just bummed they got rid of the frozen taro my favorite... but all the flavors are good! I do an iced taro with boba. It's my favorite. Plsss there's no other place in the area that I can serve myself boba Is busy also serves beer and small bites. Has seating and service is always 10/10 & helpful. Date night, family outings, about anything. Love 302! They should definitely start a loyalty program because I'd have hella stamps lol

Sad to see that their last day is May 11th. Would highly recommend people to try before their last day. Our latest visit was during lunchtime on a weekday. We were greeted upon entering and were told to choose whichever table we wanted. We ordered a Wintermelon Tea, Fried Pork Chop Rice, and the Century Egg Tofu. Food and tea came out quickly. Everything was so good and felt like comfort food that family would make. The pork chop was seasoned well and came with a tea egg, and vegetable sides of broccoli and tomato as well as soup. The tomato side reminds me of this tomato egg that we eat often. The century egg tofu was delicious. The tofu had a great texture -- soft, creamy, but also dense. The sauce that it came with was sweet, salty, and garlicky. The century egg was good. The winter melon tea was light on ice, well-balanced, and not too sweet. Overall, giving Formosan Restaurant a 5/5. Wish we started coming here sooner. Staff are nice, service is quick, prices are great, and the food is delicious. Highly recommend people to try if they haven't before. Will definitely be back before their last day.

Actually, we took out food from here two weeks in a row. We had spicy chicken with rice, which is actually popcorn chicken. The popcorn chicken was the best I've had. The flavor on the breading is delicious. I was a tea egg virgin. My son had described them to me, but I still didn't know what to expect. I really enjoyed the flavor of the egg and the fluffy yolk in the middle. I'm gonna try to make them at home. The plates come with rice, vegetables, and delicious tofu. The tofu was so soft and creamy. We also got Thai iced tea. The Thai tea was delicious and I like that they ask you how sweet you want it. They also ask you about the spice level of your food. We had the grilled salmon and spicy chicken wings as well. Everything was delicious, and the salmon was nicely grilled and flavorful. SERVICE: the service is excellent. Both the Signature Potstickers and Signature Dumplings have the same filling so I'm assuming it's the same if you were to order the Kimchi version. The Signature filling has a good amount of meat and veggies. I prefer the Potstickers because I found the crunchy texture better suited with the filling. The Corn Chowder was okay, it had corn and pork in it. It was simple so there wasn't anything bad or good about it. The employees are very kind and helpful! I asked the employee in the front if he preferred the Signature or Kimchi, and he told me he recommended the Signature first to try it out. I am now interested in trying out the Kimchi version too. The restaurant is clean and has plenty of seating. There is seating indoor and outdoors, there are water cups near the register, and a sauce station on the left side of the counter. There's Sesame Oil, Black Vinegar, Garlic Sauce, and Soy Sauce. I prefer Garlic Sauce the best! The restaurant also gets pretty cold so maybe bring a light jacket. When I went to the restaurant, there was only one person in line ahead of me, and most people seem to order take out. I would come here again to try out the noodles and the Kimchi potstickers!!

Unfortunately we wont't be back because of the terrible service and unsanitary and hazardous conditions the owners keep this restaurant in. Such a disappointment. It was disgustingly humid, hot, sticky and stuffy. Felt like I was at a swamp. When I made a comment they just brushed it off and ignored it. How cheap are the owners to NOT turn on the AC when it's hitting 90s outside. Everything was sticky, the menu, the tables. The cushions on the seats were visibly dirty too. Right when you walk in the whole establishment smelled like shit. Literally like sewage, which smelled like stinky tofu. IYKYK. Restroom wasn't clean either, go figure. Another HUGE health violation occurred as well. There was a dog at another table sitting on the seat as if they're a paying customer. Clearly not a service dog. I absolutely love dogs but not at establishments that serve food that is sitting at the table. Especially if they're not working dogs, clearly this one was not a working dog. I would prefer not to have dog fur in my food. FYI this location violated health code regulations: "Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), service dogs are allowed in restaurants, but they must remain on the floor, not on seats or tables. Health codes prohibit animals on furniture to prevent contamination." This whole environment of the restaurant and its unsanitary health violations makes me question how clean this restaurant is. Because if it's stuffy and terrible ventilation along with no air conditioning in the dining area how bad is it in the kitchen??? Food made with some sweat. Yum.
