The good: buffet was nice, but someone I know has been staying there for couple weeks and says it does not vary very much. Pretty much same breakfast every day. Clean and staff follows COVID rules. Got yelled at for serving myself. Security officer in lobby keeps eye on parking lot too. Bad: Room was clean but some lights did not work. Hotel is in bad spot. Blink and you miss the entrance. Horrible CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY CHANGED THE BREAKFAST MENU AND GIVE YOU LESS OPTIONS WHEN YOU STAY MULTIPLE DAYS!!! For the price of $59 including taxes, I thought this place was a great deal. Hotel staff was friendly although check-in took longer than expected because for some reason they would answer calls and also attended to a take out order from Chili's for a customer while we were being helped. We felt like we were being ignored a little bit. The room itself is smallish, but welcoming and has the typical amenities like TV, AC, bathroom with shower only, and a place to put your items. There isn't a closet here, but they do have hangers and some small wood furniture that made putting bags and different items very easy. There are also 2 hard desk hairs in the room as well. There is also a complimentary continental breakfast included, but we didn't take advantage of that so I can't comment on that. At 9:30, the maid was knocking on doors seeing who was still inside which was annoying since we were still sleeping, but I quickly went back to sleep after. One huge plus about this hotel is that the check-out time is 1pm. Most hotels are 11pm back home and this makes it super convenient and somewhat relaxing that we didn't have to worry about the time as much. In the lobby they have a little couch/TV area where I noticed a couple were watching a movie. There is also an area with some computers so you can go online. The elevators that took us to the 5th floor required you to swipe your hotel room card to get there. This made me feel pretty safe and I was happy they implemented that in their elevator for more security. Even the parking lot has a security guard watching as well as an entrance and exit boom barrier in which you have to press a button for the front desk to allow you to enter or exit. Overall for the price, I think this place is phenomenal and if I find myself back in Tijuana, I will definitely look back here. One note though - the wifi from our particular room was very, spotty and would go in and out. It was very annoying, so one might want to consider that. It could be that our particular room wasn't close enough to a router access point. read more

My family stayed one night at this hotel. Had to book two rooms because their 5 in our family. Rooms were nice and clean, nice smell in room. One of our two rooms had an air condition problem but the staff was nice and friendly sent up a maintenance guy to take a look at air condition unit. They could not fix it so they switched our room. Terrible Terrible...don't stay..arrived due to a missed flight .the customer service rep was a total a hole..was not allowing us to check in due the arrival time.. 4 ladies in a desperate situation at 4am..we asked can even sit on their dirty couch to look for other rooms..he said no..there was another hotel next door he said they wouldn't allow 4 people in one room..this guy had no heart..well needless to say we left and stayed at the Hamptons..well worth it there..same nightly price..we should of went there first..see my reviews for that hotel. read more

PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE!!!*** customer service was horrible!! Arriving to check in and the two people in the front could not communicate with customers I had to interpret for them. The rooms are filthy. Includes the bed sheets, walls the restroom was out of service and the worst part our room door did not lock. We asked to be placed in a different room and they refused when I explained how I felt unsafe staying in a room that had a broken door and our window faced the parking lot which anytime someone would walk past the window they were peeping their head inside. They simply ignored me and left me talking to myself. I asked for my money back and they said oh well we don't give money back. They argued with me back and forth for about 30 mins and we were left having to search for somewhere to stay late at night. We ended up finding an Air BNB and had to drive for about 20 mins to get there but it was well worth it it ended up being cheaper and cleaner a whole home for my partner and myself instead of staying in what felt like a closet. Please! Safe your money and your energy do not step one foot into this hotel. It should be closed down for improper use lack of resources and rude employees that have no problem with taking your money and once they do you are no longer important to them. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. Room was ok, kind of small. The towels were not clean, no closet just a few hangers.customer service was terrible. We ordered food and instead of calling us to let us know they sent away the delivery driver. Why we didn't get a call that they were here makes no sense. The staff in the reception area just sit around and talk instead of delivering good customer service. Booked my room here with Booking.com. I chose City Express because of the good reviews I read off booking and Yelp. My GF and I were both happy with our choice. We attended a wedding close by and wanted to leave the car at the hotel and take a taxi. Parking was free and had security 24 hours. At check in we had no issues with our reservation and price we were noted online. The room, sheets, and towels were all very clean. No closet but it did have modern shelves and hangers that did the job. I was able to leave my car at the parking lot and didn't feel like I had to worry. Taxi drivers on site to take you were u need to go. We came back from the wedding around 3 am and the hotel entrance still had all lights on, security walking the premises which was a big plus. We checked out at 1pm! Being used to 11am in the States, those couple extra hours did us good! Overall had a great stay, I would recommend to anyone crossing the border and looking for a nice, cheap, and safe place to stay overnight in Tijuana. read more

Not a compliant, but out AC was not working at one point. Staff came quickly and took care of the issue. I rate this place 2 ** because lack of is: No microwave No ice bucket No fridge Rooms too small No coffee maker No closet.. just hangers by TV 24" tv very small and could not dub to English Three towels for two guess really. Stayed here for one night with my family. I had stayed there previously & had no problems. However, this time our AC went out & it was so muggy & stuffy, thankfully the girl at the front desk was able to get us into a new room with way much better AC. However, my aunt & cousin also had the same problem with their AC & their shower took about 20 mins to fully warm up. I wouldn't stay here again personally. But the location is good & has plenty around it & the shuttle will take you places around you. read more

I'm not sure where to start with this besides pass on this hotel chain for your own good! I came here for a two night stay after reading a few reviews I thought it'd be a ok place to stay and ah haha nope. Check in I was given the option to pay for both nights right away or wait until the next day to pay for night two. I agreed to pay for both nights at check in and was handed a key thinking I was all good. WRONG! First issue was the lack of any change in water temperament in the shower besides freezing. The nicely folded towel was perfect placed to hid all 4 rips in the back side of it, is it that hard to get a simple towel right. Well it gets worse, the room key stopped working not even halfway into night one which happened to be the only simple thing to fix here. Needless to say night two got worse yet. At 3 AM the staff knocks on the door because the receptionist from the first night totally disregarded what we agreed to and never charged the room so at the most ungodly hour I have to go down and straighten out the mess that THEY CAUSED! Who in their right minds waits until 3am to try to resolve an issue like that. If you value good sleep and a quality room pick the days inn or anywhere else in the area but please don't be a part of this unholy circus! Wow. Horrible experience and the worst customer service I received ever. The front service man, I believe his name was Oscar, wouldn't help us with anything. Me and 4 other families all could not get our rooms because our reservations did not go through the system. I understand things happen, but this ass didn't offer us anything. No help, advice nothing. One family had a newborn and a small child with them. This was all at 12-1:30 in the morning. We left and the others were still trying but nothing was going to happen. We asked for the manager he said he wasn't there, and wouldn't be back Monday. We called later and the same guy said his manager will be there tomorrow morning. He lied. He also said he would give us rooms for inconvience and then ignored us and 20 minutes later said he never said that but we can buy rooms. Btw the website said only 6 rooms were left and we bought 2. When we got there 10 other party's bought rooms. So another lie. What was crazier was Oscar gave a women a room who had no proof she paid for the room, but her name was in system so it was okay, even with no card or anything on file. I wish I could give this place zero stars. We didn't have reception to try to contact website we got the rooms off, he didn't offer the phone or anything. Just horrible. worst place!!! booked 2 rooms and when we checked in we were told we had no reservations!! i gave them my confirmation number and they didn't really seemed to care he just said there was a problem with all the bookings online and that is not their fault its the online service we used to book. i called orbitz and i gave them the phone to the manager francisco medina, and he said he couldn't do anything to give us my rooms even when they said we have confirmation of our reservation. they are scammers at this hotel they do this all the time they have everyone trained to say the same thing to everyone at the front desk. ****what they really do at this hotel is take anyone who has no reservations and just walk ins and who pay cash!! thats why they pretend they dont see your reservation and now their overbooked because they didnt honor holding your room and it was given to someone else instead you!!! worst experience dont book here its not the orbitzs or booking.com or any online sites fault, its hotel shady service ! read more

I had my worst hotel experience at this hotel. They somehow did not get my orbitz reservation then made us pay for a room before we can go to the room. The next day I tried to get my refund because we already paid orbitz and Orbitz tried reaching them 3 times already. They somehow said that my reservation was for the next day. They had very little desire to help until I kept pushing them to check. They called their boss and confirmed that their system was indeed showing the reservation incorrectly. However, that took an hour long just to get to that point. Every time someone came up, they pushed my situation to the back. The supervisor was there and did nothing to help. She relied only on the front desk receptionist to help me even though the receptionist had to take care of everything else as well. Then they told me I had to wait 2 hours to actually receive my refund since I paid cash. They were going to call me when the cash arrives but then never call. I came back to check two hours later and had to wait another hour before they would finally give me my cash for no reason except they kept helping everyone else but me because again the supervisor did nothing to help the receptionist. Worst customer service ever. Do not waste your time and money here. There are way better hotels in Tijuana for a better price and friendlier service. read more

Over all the condition of the hotel is good the service is horrible right now it is 5 a.m. I have been struggling since 3 in the morning the air conditioner broke down in the room I have been complaining since around 4:30 I went down to the lobby to ask if we can change rooms or if we can speak to a manager there was no one to assist and the person at the desk by the name Angel Andrade told me face-to-face there was no rooms available and there was no way he could change your room so I go back to my room and use my cell phone to call as if I was trying to make another reservation and ask if there was room available at the moment he invited me in he said there was rooms available and I told him why did you just tell me face-to-face that there was no room available for you to change us he quickly got nervous I said I'm sorry we are going to change your rooms this is not the first time I have an encounter at this hotel the only reason I stay at this hotel it's because it's the most convenient and close by to the hospital I had surgery on another note the manager is always screaming and yelling to the employees and front of everybody while there is people in the lobby I would not recommend this hotel at all it is not your money's worth read more

Stayed at this hotel for one night, everything was great, I booked through hotels.com check in & check out was fast free secured parking, free wifi, computers (about 5 of them) in lobby, breakfast included it was more than just continental breakfast they had mini pancakes, 2 different types of scrambled eggs, beans, (food coming out freshly cooked) milk, tea, etc. I would definitely stay here again!, the rooms were a bit small but clean, the beds are also smaller than stated we booked a rm with 2 queen beds but they were more like a full size which was ok. Only reason why I dropped a star is because while flipping channels on the tv a porn channel came up so I guess they provide a free porn channel which is not a good idea while having kids around I'm just glad my kids didn't see this they had gone with their dad to get something from the car, so after this incident I hid the remote control just to be on the safe side.
