Stayed at this hotel on my visit to TJ because I wanted to try out a different hotel. This place is about 3 blocks away from downtown TJ but as a heads up, the walk there was a very sketchy neighborhood. Wanted to check in at lobby and got very confused because as I open the door, it looked like a cafe and thought I was going into the wrong place! The staff was helpful but could only issue one key which was fine and it was a very easy check in process. Upon getting into my room, it was not very spacious but it was me new, neat, comfortable, and had all the basic necessities. The only thing that could be better is the TV quality, it's 720p with no HD. The breakfast downstairs was one of the better ones, eggs, beans, yogurt, cereal, and 24/7 coffee, cappuccino, and hot chocolate! Not too bad, I'd say. The location isn't too far off from the main road. It's located in a plaza with an orthopedic and an optometrist. It's quiet, except when they're doing construction in the day. The stay comes with breakfast (7-10am) and there's a coffee machine and an ice machine available all day. I really liked the breakfast. It's a small spread, but the food was good. There was oatmeal, pancakes, scrambled eggs, beans, nacho chips, papaya and pastries. The room is alright. Mine did not have a window to the outside (it was facing the hallway), a little stuffy, but it was bearable. The hotel looks pretty new; it feels minimalistic in an Ikea kind of way. The power went out for 45 min or so on the first day I was there; but that's probably outside the hotel's control. read more

We stayed here for a weekend from Thursday to Monday and it was a safely guarded every night. We ubered in every night and felt safe. I would not recommend to walk around in this area because it's a bit weird at night but still just good to be safe. The hotel offered Mexican breakfast which was delicious and the rooms were spacious for 3 people. Pretty decent space. read more

I booked this hotel online paid and all when I get there people are sitting outside the lobby drinking. I had my ID to check in but when they asked my partner for his ID he gave them a iD that was given to him from the Mexican consult and they refuse to let us check in. After requesting my money back from the three night booked they also refused. The customer service personal was very rude. We ended up having to drive around and look for a hotel. We ended up in a much better hotel. read more

TERRIBLE!!!! They double charged me and they didn't do anything about it. The beds are super stiff I couldn't sleep. Bathrooms are small the carpets are dirty been to 4 different rooms they all have a humid smell. Was dying of allergies because of the carpet. The sarcasm of the staff in front is very unprofessional and rude. We asked for a better room they replied with what else do you want a view of the ocean. Pros: if you just need a nice little hotel to have a place to sleep in while in T.J., this is the place. The staff are great. The rooms are small but clean. They also serve breakfast. Cons: the walls are thin and the bathroom is tiny. We even got our car wash by a gentleman named Luis Luna. He spends his day at the hotel washing cars as a way to work. He is friendly, very informative and most of all he does a good job. Don't be intimidated by his looks. He is just trying to make ends meet. read more

The staff is friendly, polite and helpful and the rooms are clean. Breakfast is a good Mexican style with a good selection. I was disappointed with a variety of things. No light switch by the bed, had to turn the light off and find my way to the bed in the dark. No blanket for cooler nights. No comfortable chair for sitting. I guess they don't expect you to spend any time in the room except to sleep. Shower is large enough but in the wrong direction. The shower head (a nice large one) hit the opposite wall halfway down and I needed to lift my legs up high to rinse them off. No shelf space in the bathroom to put things on. We had to use the table in the room for the excess things. This is definitely a no frills hotel room. I do applaud the use of motion sensing lights in hallways and stairs that turn on when you walk near. read more

I stayed at this hotel last night and the front desk guy used my card to purchase $1000 worth of online items. We go to these hotels thinking we can trust them with our information but they turn around and fraudently use our financial information to steal from their own customers!! Do not stay at this hotel! If you want them to steal from you go ahead and take a chance! But trust me, it is not worth it! Never, ever, stay at this hotel! I called the front desk today to talk to a manager and the receptionist was being rude and didn't even try to help me. She was actually defending the guy that stole my card number! Thieves! Thieves! Breakfast included (eggs, beans, pasta, yogurt, cottage cheese, fruit, cereal, cappuccino). Mounted flat screen but no English tv. There is WiFi throughout hotel and computers downstairs. The room is clean, great shower, small safe for belongings. Full length mirror. Nice bed if you like firm. Only thing missing was a bedside lamp and chair. A bottle water and cup would've been nice. No biggie considering the great price! It's 3 blocks from Ave Revolución, the fun street. The neighborhood is not the best but you must consider, you're in Mexico! This place was just fine! It seemed new and clean. The front desk was nice and friendly. I don't have any complaints about the room. I was pleasantly surprised. It felt very clean, which is pretty much the most important thing, right? The breakfast was ok, about what you'd expect for a not-expensive hotel. There was scrambled eggs, refried beans, tortillas, fruit, yogurt, bread, granola. There was a machine that made coffees, lattes, cappuccinos, etc, but it didn't work. An employee saw us trying to use it and she came over and loaded up ONE drink cartridge. So my spouse got a drink but I didn't. I guess they don't want people using tons of the drink cartridges. The immediate location was not a super-great area. You would want to drive or take a cab there, or at least not walk there at night...it's just a bit dark and not-populated. But if you take a vehicle it's fine. I would stay there again! read more

I did my reservation online through hotel.com and made a mistake with the checkin date. I gave them a call that day and they were very helpful. When we got there we didn't know where the parking entrance was but we figured it out. We arrived pretty late and the young man at the reception was able to get us checked in. The room we got was clean with no bad odors. We got a king size bed which was pretty firm for my taste but my husband loved it. The bathroom was clean as well but as a side note doesn't have a blow dryer. The room came with breakfast which is provided downstairs in the lobby; it's sort of continental breakfast; scramble eggs with chorizo, beans, fruit, toast, juice and coffee there is also cereal. In all we would stay there again. read more

CLEAN!!! Loved the place as soon as I walked in. We read some reviews and saw that it could be kinda loud but it was really peaceful. Very very clean too. The people at the desk are so nice. Got the room at a cheap rate. This is NOT the place where a fancy breakfast and amenities are provided and you get to work out while on your stay so PLEASE LEAVE THOSE EXPECTATIONS IN YOUR LUGGAGE. This hotel is plain and simple AND super cute.... Yet, oh so very VERY CLEAN!!!! and that's the most important to my partner and I. Hopefully they keep up with their great work. (((shout out to the cleaning personnel))) The bed is a lil too firm and we basically had sheets as covers. Room had perfect working air conditioning. Again, it's clean, which means the restroom was clean as well and that alone made me feel comfortable. Next time I visit TJ, we are definitely coming back. The border is literally around the corner as you exit the parking lot. Make a right on the first street and another right on the next first street and you'll see the San Diego sign to hit the border read more

In short, I WOULD STAY THERE AGAIN. Why? Super Clean This hotel is the solution for those of us needing a clean room with amenities that include a clean bed and private bathroom. If you don't spend time in the room, why pay extra? Also great if you need a hotel for a flight the next day. Staff Staff is friendly and accommodating. I saw them go out of their way to make people comfortable and safe. Parking lot has a guard and it's completely fenced. There was a underground parking area, but we parked above. Breakfast included Breakfast is great! They had real scrambled eggs, refried beans, toast, yogurt, salsa, granola, coffee, milk, orange drink, and a coffee machine that served various coffee drinks. All of it served family style in the buffet. I'm sure if you want tortillas they have them, but we didn't ask for any. Lady that runs the buffet is super sweet and took great care with the hotel guests. Room Bed is super firm, A/C that works very well, shower bathroom, no counter space, no dresser. Big area for luggage, LCD TV, lots of electrical outlets (look behind the night stands and under table) and Wi-Fi in both the rooms and lobby area. Room, sheets and towels are clean! Room key is still a metal key, not a card. We got one key which was fine. Hotel They have an elevator and the lobby is nice and has Wi-Fi. You can hang out there and be really comfortable. They sell snacks at the front desk. Area The area is not pretty and I would not walk in the area at night, but during the day, it's not bad for adults. I would not walk with little kids in the immediate area, but just a block away, you are fine. Costco is across the street and Plaza Rio, Revolution and the arts center are close enough that a short taxi ride will take you there. Very inexpensive choice with the basics covered! I live in Cabo, Mexico. I booked a room at B hotel in TJ, as I was boarding my flight they refused me due to high fever. I called B hotel and explained the situation, I begged if they could give a refund or credit and they were not willing to do either. Given the situation I thought they could have made an exception. I will never book with them again. I understand it said no refunds but there's a pandemic going on around the world and catching flights now are very different/strict with that being said they should change their policy. It's money money money, that's all they care about. read more

Honestly, the hotel was cute with the decor, very inspiring, and good location. Shopping centers were close by, and many other stores. One of the receptionist, Yovani, was amazing. Never again will I stay here! I just drove 5.5 hours to come visit some family and I am greeted by the rude person behind the counter. Asking me to pay extra when I had already paid on the website. I think we was just trying to get some cash for him but I didn't want to give him cash so I said I'll pay with card. Since he could not get extra cash from me, he was rude to the point he was telling me to how to sign. This is the worst service I have received. I will never stay here again and will let my family members know not to stay here. The bathroom is so small you can't even shower comfortably. There's one chair that looks like a school chair. I stayed there for a week in April 2018. It is very cute, clean and newly remodeled. They have free cable, free wi-fi, and free breakfast for a VERY reasonable price. There is 24 hour security and taxis in the parking lot almost all of the time. And the staff was great! They became friends! I can't wait to go visit again. read more

Cleanliness is key when staying at a hotel...who wants to encounter the likes of bed bugs. However, peace of mind is also well recommended because most are on business or vacation and need a nice place to relax. The walls are paper thin, if you are a light sleeper this is not the place for you. I am a heavy sleeper and I could still hear my neighbors coming in and out of their room all ours of the night. You will also be able to hear dogs and motorcycles zipping past the near freeway late into the night. Other than that for $50 USD this is a nicely updated place to stay! read more

As you enter the lobby area, you can see that this hotel is going to be a nice little boutique motel. Unfortunately when you get to the room it seems like this hotel has been transformed from a motel, the rooms are tiny and the shower/bathroom combo is very little. If your clostfobic this will not be the ideal location for you to stay. The bed is very firm as well as the pillows lay hard and flat on the bed. Oh, and the water filling station next door communicates with loud horns so you can hear them clearly every hour starting from 6am. So, if waking up early after a night out on the town is your thing then this will be the place for you. Oh and also, the walls are paper thin; so to the neighbors having loud bed fun and to the group clearing having a party across the hall thank you for allowing me to rest. NOT! I will give this place 2 stars because the front desk was pretty helpful getting taxis and the location was great and walkable distance to all the local bars. read more

I stayed here for a whole week while getting extensive dental work with Advanced Smiles (see my review of them as well- awesome), so I had time to do research. I felt quite at home here. The front desk staff, the ladies who prepare the breakfast and tidy up the rooms all put a lot of care into their work. The space itself, as others have mentioned, is newly renovated and spotless. The breakfast is an added bonus- I loved having real food to start the day. I never found the noise level to be a problem though I sometimes could hear activity next door or outside. The immediate neighborhood is full of auto body shops, and not advised for walking at night, but a couple of blocks west gets you into local shops, and a couple blocks more lands you on Avenida de la Revolution. Within one block west of the hotel on Carillo Puerto is the currency exchange with the best rate I've found, and a tiny shop run by a smiling old man and his cat Paco, where you can buy water and snacks. Not a good experience this time. The receptionist (older bald male) was un professional and careless, after a long 7 hour drive we couldn't check in. My two kids were tired all we wanted to do is was unload our luggage, use the restroom, wash off and rest before heading out. I was not prepared for this and this totally messed up or plans. When my family and I finally checked in it was late in the evening, I asked for extra towels and was told they are counted and only one towel for each guest. Within 40 minutes I got two towels, but they were stained and were not white like the ones already there. I would not recommend this hotel not even as a 3 star. Now we will have to look into a different hotel after staying here for a few years. Too sad they will be loosing my business and my family. read more

This hotel is clean. I felt very safe. The walls are thin you can hear your neighbors thats the only downside. Its nice and neat. The breakfast is good.
