Please, even if you're not hungry, do yourself a favor and stop at Cindy's Cafe. It's not easy to see from the road, but I bet locals love that; it means they keep it for themselves. We're on a road trip from Baltimore to Tulsa and we wanted something other than a chain for breakfast. We drove out of Nashville and found Cindy's about an hour south. Yes, the food is really good. Yummy biscuits, crisp bacon, solid hash browns. But it's really the gals cooking and serving that make the experience special. This little "hole in the wall" is absolutely a pearl of a restaurant. The food is amazing, the service and staff are wonderful, and the prices are perfect. Why this place isn't open for dinner surpasses my understanding. What a find!!! We will definitely be coming back. We always get breakfast here, and it's good.. I haven't tried anything on the lunch menu. The breakfasts are delish though, never had an issue with that. But they are sooo busy on weekend mornings that it takes awhile to get a refill or catch someone if they forgot to bring something, like coffee :( Also, it seems like the tables don't get cleaned every time. I have had to ask for a wash rag, which I will clean it if they give it to me, but they usually will do it. If you don't mind that, the food is really decent. read more

Service is outstanding. Breakfast was just ok. The omelet still had uncooked egg inside, even after sent back and made again. The hashbrowns would have been better if crispy. The food is delicious! The menu is priced well! For a meat and three sides (the special), it was $6.45. We had 4 adults and two children and we paid $56 before tip and we had dessert. The pies (we had 3 chocolate pies and a coconut pie. They were devoured. The staff knew most of the people's names eating and were friendly to us new folks. I highly recommend. Had breakfast this morning. They call it the mess it one thing you have like your food all mixed together. Good point is hot food it is mostly precooked so they are fast. They are friendly and kind with customers and good service. It is on line of cafeteria food. It better than your fast food restaurant but would not put in one top American roadside dinners that make special trip to eat at. read more

I almost didn't write this review because it is one of Dickson's best kept local secrets. If you come to this place during lunch hour on a weekday you probably won't even get in the door because it will packed with us locals. But the bottom true real line is that the place os small but definitely worth eating at over any of the corporate big wigs up off of the interstate. Try it, you won't be disappointed. Best cafe/diner anywhere around Dickson, Lyles, Fairview and beyond. Even beats the socks off the home cooking we've had from cafes in the Nashville area, including the Loveless. We recently completed a cross country trip from Nashville to Nevada down Route 66 and none of the so called home cooking we had along the way could begin to compare with the delicious food we've gotten at Cindys. Cindy's is true made from scratch, real home cooking at its very best. High quality, cooked to perfection, fresh and hot, and the choices are excellent. The pies are made from scratch and out of this world and the burgers are absolutely the best anywhere! We order whole pies for family gatherings and they are always a big hit. We have eaten at Cindy's for almost 5 years and it has always been top notch. And yes, we tried the breakfast "mess" and it was absolutely delicious. It is NOT all mixed together, it's layered similar to a breakfast casserole. It consists of a homemade biscuit torn in pieces, then layered with eggs cooked to your liking, a breakfast meat of your choice, hashbrowns, and then topped with homemade white peppered gravy.
