Talk about a donut!! Stopped by here this week driving through coming from California. As a Californian we have donut shops on every corner, but I can say these were the best darn donuts I've had in my entire life. My maple donut was still hot it melted in my mouth. My cream donut didn't taste like thick artificial cream I could taste the cream it was delightful! Jelly filled donut and glaze were 12/10 as well! I'd drive just through Dickson again just for these donuts. Thank you for the hospitality! read more

Wow is this place popular in the morning! I stopped in for donuts for the office and waited in a long line, extending out onto the sidewalk out front. It's also a very slow line - took about 20 mins to get to place my order. The staff is friendly and obviously, the donuts are fresh. They smelled and looked great, but being on a diet, I didn't eat any. I did get a cup of coffee and that was really basic (tasted like grocery store coffee). read more

Time to rise and shine donut friends! Dickson donuts will absolutely make your 30-minute trek from downtown Nashville before you hit one of the pawesome state parks around here worth it. You won't find any maple bacon CBD infused Portland inspired mayhem here. But you will find fresh from the kitchen donuts. Old fashioned donuts are always my favorite and this is a place to get them. Folks were pretty excited about their donut holes, in the chocolate frosted glazed donut I got was amazing. It's not dripping sugary or super greasy...yum. This is a long-standing Asian family owned and operated independent business. I'm gathering they've been there for at least a decade (if not longer and being able to carve out a business in rural Tennessee is no joke). They also have my hands down favorite bacon egg and cheese croissant that will make you demand every penny you ever spent some dunkin' donuts drive-thru getting a fast food sandwich. The croissants are not even aiming to French standards. Their palm-sized and taste like sweet Asian pastry made a baby with a croissant. I would have taken pictures of the display cases but there's near nothing in them when I got there today at 10:30 a.m. Oh, did I mention that they open at 4:00 in the morning and close really early? They keep turning out basic glazed donuts and donut holes until they close at one or two in the afternoon. if you're still on the fence about whether it's worth heading here, know that you can get a half a dozen donuts and two croissant sandwiches for under $10. Good luck doing that downtown! PROTIP You can make a pretty nice day for yourself by hitting Montgomery Bell State Park or the Burns wildlife area after you grab some yummy carbs from Dickson donuts. Normally I'd have something to say about staff and patronage abiding by covet protections, but this is well outside Davidson county and there are no mask mandates. The staff has solid plexiglass protection, masks worn appropriately and gloves. The patrons wander around like they can't die from COVID fast enough with only half of them wearing masks. So many people have recommended this place that I had to try it. Was in town for a meeting and picked up a variety of them for the group. We had a ton left over so over the course of a couple of days I was able to try 3 varieties of donuts. More donuts than I usually eat in a year but hey. First of all--a nice, clean location with super-friendly service and incredibly affordable prices. I got just short of 3 dozen donuts for the group and it was less than $30 before the tip. There was a decent line when I arrived but they work their way through it pretty quickly. A drive through option would be nice, but I understand why this might not be possible for a number of reasons. So usually my favorite donut is a long john with whip cream filling. That's what I had first. It was...not bad. A bit too sweet, but not bad. Texture was good. I felt this place just didn't live up to the hype. But for dessert that night I had an apple fritter and it was delicious. Really good. Like, really good. Most apple fritters I've had are too dense, too heavy. This one is perfectly sized, perfectly cooked, perfectly iced, crispy and delicious. Then I had the blueberry (not the blueberry filled on, the blueberry cake donut) the next morning for breakfast. Absolutely good. Then another fritter. Still great. I've had enough donuts for a month, but will say Dickson Donuts lives up to the hype. read more

I would have to say as a Professional "Donut Scout" that this place is without a doubt........... 5 Star. I got the crème filled chocolate topped Long John and the Apple Fritter. I am gob smacked to tell you which one was the best. They were both EXCELLENT and very fresh. The prices were so cheap for these specialty donuts $1.09 each. It is a very good thing I was just visiting Dickson and don't live there. Would be hard not to swing by there everyday. read more

These are absolutely the best doughnuts in Tennessee! They are light and fluffy. Not sugary sweet like most places make their doughnuts. The staff are friendly. I got a Croissant breakfast sandwich. Very soft and excellent. Not a true Croissant (viennoiserie) but nevertheless delicious. Coffee was what would amount to a hotel breakfast bar coffee. Not the best but it will do. If you're picky about your coffee try getting the food her and coffee from dunkin donuts. I'd support local businesses before chains. read more

Heads up to everyone. This place is CLOSED ON MONDAY. We checked W3LP/TripAdvisor AND even asked 3 local folks who we met who said Dickson Donuts was open before driving in off the I40. (No one has updated W3LP with their proper posting of hours.) On the door it clearly says it is closed. I understand Y3LP calls businesses relentlessly to try to get them to remove negative reviews or bad photos if the business pays up. For that reason I cannot give them a bad review. They are local and deserve every benefit. My feeling is we need to support local small businesses. Think about this when posting reviews. I'm fortunate that one of our subcontractors brings these to our office in downtown Nashville pretty regularly. These donuts are practically perfect and I'm sure they are even better when they are warm in the shop. The chocolate and regular glazed are the best you can get. Cool local place with nice staff. Now the unfortunate thing is the donuts are not really all that great. They have a good variety and they are solid donuts. I'm sure I will return because the donuts aren't necessarily bad and I'd rather support a local spot than dunkin. Don't go expecting real high quality donuts and you will be pleased. Best place for donuts that's local. The employees are friendly, and the donuts are lower priced. Absolutely the best donuts, biscuits, Apple fritters, cinnamon rolls, and croissants. The line is always out of the door, so that's a downside. And if you get there late morning, it's first come first serve. But it's definitely worth all its downsides. Unsure if there has been a change in management or what, but quality has been dropping over the last year or so. The fritters have gotten smaller and contain less fruit, the selection of donuts has diminished considerably. The fritters are still good, just not as good as they used to be. read more
