We were in the area and found Salt and Pepper here on Yelp, so we decided to stop in for lunch. Even though it was a Friday afternoon, the restaurant was quite busy. We were greeted and told we could seat ourselves. When the waitress arrived, she told us about the days' specials and answered our questions about the menu. We started with the Southwest egg rolls, and these had a great flavor, served with a southwest ranch sauce. For our meals, we both went with the meat and three. My husband had the chicken fried chicken, white beans, mashed potatoes & gravy, and a side salad. He really enjoyed his meal. The salad was a great size and everything in it was so fresh. He also said the white beans were cooked perfectly. I had the meatloaf, Mac & cheese, steak fries, and green beans. The green beans were cooked with bacon and were so good! The steak fries were hot and perfectly cooked, and the meatloaf... Now, I love meatloaf and I have often ordered it in a restaurant if the option is available, so believe me when I say this was the best meatloaf I have ever had! It was seasoned very well, and the topping was tomato-y and had just a bit of spice. When I asked the waitress about it she said it was a house made "Kiss Me, Kick Me" sauce. It was fantastic! The food is decent, not great, but fresh home-cooked meals. I had lemon pepper salmon & it was dry, but okay. The service IS great & friendly. However, regarding ambiance, it's a charming wood restaurant inside with several TVs all tuned to a political channel that I don't exactly embrace. Who wants politics at dinner? I ordered a simple BLT sandwich and have been waiting for over 30 minutes for it. The service is ridiculously slow ... the server has not come back to my table since I ordered other than to bring my glass of water. There are not many dining options in White Bluff ... For a very unassuming restaurant on the side of Highway 70 it has absolutely incredible food. The decor is very eclectic and the menu small but don't let that stop you from enjoying every bite! We have tried most all with great enjoyment. The best part for me has been the BLT paired with the Warm Bacon Slaw! This location was recommended. I arrived once it opened for dinner right at 4pm. I was greeted by my waitresses and immediately seated. The waitress was friendly and provided great service. For this type of place I usually order a burger and fries to test the restaurant. If one can make an excellent burger then everything must be great. The burger did not disappoint. Freshly made as I ordered it and delicious. About the service the waitress brought me a refill of coke without me asking. Servers it is key to be ahead and not have the customer wait to ask for a refill. I will definitely be returning. The burger was delicious with fries and at a great price. read more

Small town hidden gem! We live locally and had passed by a million times but never stopped till today...ashamed we hadn't sooner. Even with a short staff, the food was brought out quick and was very tasty. We came for lunch but plan on coming to check out the dinner menu soon. Service was a bit slow on our last visit, but it was a Monday night about an hour before closing, and there was a birthday party going on. Wow! I just ate some of the best salmon I've ever eaten, and for this girl who's lived a majority of her adult life in San Francisco, that's saying a lot! I want to call this a hole- in-the-wall, but the scratch-made gourmet fare coming from the kitchen is worthy of a visit from Guy Fiery. Don't tell anyone, but this unassuming place could double their prices and still pack the tables with appreciative diners. Clever but not overly-done salt & pepper-themed tchotchkes along with 'Mona Lisa with Squirrel' and 'Yoda in Napoleon Jacket' wall hangings. Live music on Friday nite. Everything I've had here has been SO good but the BLT is still my favorite. It's the best one I've ever had from a restaurant. In the fall and winter they have homemade soups and every one I've tried were delicious. My mother got 3 meals out of the cob chicken salad. Wish I knew about this place sooner. read more

Wow, hidden gem!!!! This place is small on the inside but don't let that fool you. They pack big flavor and amazing menu prices. Excellent quality food and you will likely leave here with leftovers. Our party of 6 was seated immediately on a Saturday night. We shared a couple of appetizers (highly recommend the cheese nuggets!). I ordered the Cobb Salad ($9) which may have been the best one I've had in my life! No joke, they pile the ingredients high and their dressing is made in house. I ate this meal for 3 meals! The affordability for what you get can't be beat. Even drink prices are beyond reasonable. This is an excellent place to bring one person or ten! Last night our church family sat together at this restaurant. We ordered grilled salmon, w grilled vegetables, pot, roast, lasagna, and hamburgers. Everything was cooked to perfection. Walked in and it looked promising. It wasn't too busy for a Monday and we got here at 6:15. They have a lot of great things on the menu and one thing that popped out to me was the meatloaf. I ordered it with mashed potatoes and green beans. After a little over an HOUR our food finally came out and sadly enough my meatloaf was cold. Not even warm. Very disappointing because it did taste and looked good. My husband was not happy but thankfully it was precooked. Not the waitresses fault but I wish they would use a thermometer before bringing it out to the table or at least letting us know if something like that takes an hour to cook. I did let her know my food was cold. Not chilly, cold. They did ask if we wanted free dessert to make up for the time we spent there and my food being cold. We declined. Service was just okay our waitress was nice but the wait time on food was ridiculous because it was not busy. I don't recommend this place unless you want to sit for a minimum of an hour before your food has arrived. If you plan on coming with a big party prepared to wait. The only thing that was good was the buffalo chicken dip! That only took 15 minutes to come to our table. read more

Usually very good ( the chicken fried chicken my fav). went there for breakfast today(7/21) and one server was in the back working but the other one was standing talking to some men about strip clubs and other topics while I waited to even be acknowledged and that was by the other girl. The owner was sitting there while she just continued to talk and so much bad language going on, even by the owner. Then that same girl dropped dishes and cussed. I asked the owner to tell them in the back to make it to go because I didn't like the atmosphere. I told the other girl I'm going to church soon and don't want to hear all that. This place is great! Their chicken wings are amazing! You must try their sweet/spicy bbq sauce. Their grilled corn side dish is also amazing. The prices are reasonable, and the service is decent. I have to come back and try their breakfast soon. Within a week, I've come back for their basket of wings twice. I wish they had a greater variety of craft beer, but overall a great addition to this small town. There aren't many food options in White Bluff, so having another option is fantastic. They also have karaoke every other week. Their French fries are also good. I'd highly recommend their wings though. Update: I came here and ordered their Nashville got chicken sandwich and fries.
