I don't even know why I'm giving stars I was eating dinner and the lady we had stopped serving us to go call her fiancé like what. And all the sudden I look up and there is a roach crawling on the wall we told someone and we get " Under where the food gets food don't get cleaned very well but we try to get ride of them". I absolutely love waffle house hash browns! I had company and had a hankering for hashbrowns and blt dipped in egg yellow. I place a large order at my favorite waffle house on Hensley drive in dickson tn. Ordered for 5 ppl. I've never been so disappointed with them. Everyone's hashbrowns were over cooked. This is THE best Waffle House we've ever been too, also the first Waffle House we've ever been too. We were welcomed by lovely hick accents and will continue to talk like that even after leaving because we enjoyed it so much. The ambience really lived up to expectation, we were serenaded by Marilyn Manson on the juke box. The waffle was phenomenally fluffy, buttery, and yummy. The ham was entirely underwhelming, but the bacon on the other hand...delish. What's a breakfast without a hot coffee? Meh, you could probably go without the coffee. The noise of silverware clashing, employees yelling at eachother, and Marilyn Manson playing, not just in the background but over everything else, really just made it feel like Waffle House. Overall, the experience was amazing, but probably won't go back to a Waffle House for a long time. read more

Every time I have eaten at this Waffle House location, I've received excellent service and the food has been very good. I have absolutely no complaints with these folks. Last night however I had food from the Henslee Drive location. Conveniently for them, no one has set up a Yelp page for them so I couldn't review them specifically. Let's just say, if you're in Dickson and you're craving Waffle House, the place you want to be is Highway 46S out by the interstate. The Henslee Drive location had some pretty nasty food. I was stuck in the hospital and a friend picked up some ham and eggs and a biscuit with gravy for me. The ham slice was burnt, the hash browns were close to burnt around the edges, and the biscuit and gravy had a funny taste. I'm not sure whether it was the biscuit itself or the gravy, but together they were inedible. So, as I said, stay close to the Interstate if you want Waffle House in Dickson. read more

About average for a Waffle House. Everyone was pleasant except for one lady who had an attitude. I asked if she could wipe the table. She got snarky "we don't get high level clientele". She only cleaned half the table, apparently she was too short to reach the whole table. When I pointed to some catsup (?) stains, she got snarky saying "It's etched onto the table" and left. Didn't even give me the coffee I asked for. A nicer person helped me. Two stars for the save. Too bad, would have been four or five if it weren't for the arrogant one. read more

The food was excellent. The order was exact and delivered quickly and efficiently. The cooks and the wait staff worked dry well together, like a very well oiled machine. The manager stopped by our table to check how we were enjoying our experience. It was just a very wonderful way to start the day. But that wasn't what put this particular Waffle House over the top. It was our waitress, a true Godsend named Mikeshia. When it came to starting every single person's day with whom she came into contact, off with a wonderful smile, a positive word, or uplifting support, she had it. When I sat down, she asked how we were doing and I said, " Incredible ". She thought for a second and said, "Me too! I'm feeling incredible ". I've said that every time I have been asked and is literally the first to respond in kind. Then she went about proving it. She was a whirlwind of positive energy, making every customer feel like family, ensuring everyone had everything they needed and never wanted for anything. She even worked through her break to ensure her customers were taken care of. Mikeshia and the rest of this Waffle House staff make it a wonderful stop along I-40! Even if you don't get her as a waitress, just watching her work is uplifting! God is working through this young lady! read more

Good food for a long day of driving. I was starting my day in the Nashville area and with 600+ miles ahead, I wanted a good load of caffeine and carbs. Waffle House to the rescue. This one is better than most - the staff took good care of me and the food was cooked properly. The cook missed my order slightly, making it smothered (onions) instead of covered (cheese) but it was right on the check. No worries, I figure it's worth trying something different and there's no one to complain about my breath when it's just me in the car. Jukebox was silent most of the time, but every so often it would kick off with some random tune. Really poor cell coverage in the area, I couldn't get any data. Not a huge WH fan, but late at night, in the sticks, you gotta go with what is available. This was a much-improved experience over my last visit to a WH. On a trip from Memphis to Columbia, I stopped in here last night and had excellent service and felt extremely welcomed. I had just bought a vehicle in Memphis and they had tinted the windows making it impossible for me to do the drive-thru at surrounding restaurants. I tried going inside McDonald's next door with no luck. I decided that I would try Waffle House to gain a break, a restroom, and some hopefully good food. I was by myself and it was 9:00 at night, so I was a little apprehensive. All that went out the door the minute I stepped inside. I was immediately greeted by two of the employees. A lady with a cute purple/blue ponytail said, "Hey, honey! Welcome. Sit anywhere you like!", as well as the male cook saying hi with a smile. That put me at ease. I sat down and proceeded to order. I had my meal within 5-6 minutes. It was delicious and I was back on the road in no time. If you are ever in the area, this Waffle House is great and I highly recommend it. read more

Going out to eat on a holiday or even remotely close to a holiday is usually stressful. Going out on Black Friday is usually even worse. Our experience this morning at this location was great. It was packed full when we got there, but we still didn't wait long to get a table for four. Our waitress was quick and polite. The food was delicious and we were in and out do there in an hour. I have been to this particular Waffle House about three times in my life and I have not been to Dickson too many times. I must say it is one of the cleanest Waffle Houses I have been to and I have been to a number of them. The service is great and the food is satisyfing! For some reason though, this Waffle House seems to have the caloric intake information listed on every single item they serve. Now, may be I have not noticed this before but it was a partial downer. My friend reassured me that it was the South and they were known for good eating. This is the only thing that I saw as a problem and for that they get four stars instead of five. I've said this in other reviews, with a commercial-place like this, I grade accordingly compared to other exact places, i.e. Waffle Houses... Despite the best efforts of a woman I assume was the manager-on-duty, my order was wrong FOUR TIMES. I literally left 3/4 of my food b/c my children had eaten their correct order and were begging to leave. Sadly, the confusion behind what the difference of what smothered v. covered is was beyond this group. Here's the deal, I'm cool with one mess up. But when I literally point to the menu, showing exactly what I'm ordering...coupled with my other items coming periodically/randomly timed while/after my kids get their food, AND my order is wrong FOUR times... My Christmas spirit was challenged. Fortunately for me/Cracker Barrel, I placed a takeaway order that left me full. If it was not for the sweet, apologetic woman, this was be a 1 star rating. Great Cheesburger! Pros Our order taker/server was very pleasant. Our food arrived quickly and was hot. My cheeseburger was perfectly cooked, the lettuce was nice and crispy, and the french fries were nice and hot. Overall, the food was good for the price. Cons The restaurant felt cluttered and dirty. The counters were full of stuff and the bathrooms probably should have been attended to more often. Mens room was occupied for a long time -- only for us to discover that the restaurant asst mgr/mgr was in there having a smoke because it was cold outside. read more

We stopped here on the last leg of a 12 hour road trip, and it was just what we needed! Our waitress was super attentive and friendly, and my coffee cup was never empty. Traveling across country, stopped for 2 coffees to go. They only had a few customers and like 20 waitstaff.. they were training a new girl I felt so bad for. As soon as a new customer came in the old lady manager would come out screaming at everyone to take care of the new customer. A little rude.. And kinda crazy.. I was embarrassed for the waitstaff, they can obviously see the people that walk in. They left the poor new girl to fend for herself, and was shaking while she was trying to help me.. A few weeks ago, my wife and I had the opportunity to stop at the Waffle House at 2321 Hwy 46 in Dickson, Tn. Having been familiar with Waffle House, I was most surprised at the courteous and complete service given us. The cook was clean, the help looked like professionals, the food was great, the location was cleaner than any resturant I have been in lately. This place and the evening shift deserves a 5 star award. Everyone of them seemed to have our interest at heart and spoke to us repeatedly. The chef looked clean and professional, not long haired, bearded and dirty. My wife and I own a business and we notice things and this place deserves honors. I hope they treat everyone the way they treated us that evening around 8 p.m. I will return read more

We usually receive great service when we visit this Waffle House. However, today we did not. Our waiter, Kim, screwed up everything she possibly could. First, my boyfriend asked for Dr. Pepper and she brought him coffee. We didn't say anything to her because coffee was fine with him.Then, my boyfriend had ordered his hash browns with onions, peppers, and ham. She brought them to us with cheese and ham. He hates cheese so this wasn't acceptable. Still we didn't say anything. I scraped the cheese off for him, but he didn't eat much. Then, to top off the bad experience, I received my bacon not well done, so I politely asked if it could be cooked longer. She said yes. She brought it back the exact same as it had been before. So I sent it back again. Finally on the third go round it was satisfactory done (barely). She wasn't rude at all, rather she was just incompetent. I don't know if it was a cook issue or what but it was awful. Won't be back. read more
