I regularly order from Goodwings because I love the food. I picked up dinner yesterday at 4:50pm, and 30 mins later I arrived home and realized I was given the wrong order. It was too late to drive back or call due to their 5pm closing. I returned today for the food I did not receive. The girl who served me remembered and announced to the cook that this was the order messed up from yesterday. I received my missing items but was told, per the mgr, the next time I realize I have the wrong order I need to return the food or call them . I asked how I was supposed to do that since Goodwings had closed? The girl responded that she didn't know. So I requested to speak to the Manger. Mgr. Wendy let me know that she was still there after closing. I didn't know the phone was answered after hours or I would have called. Mgr. Wendy was more concerned about me not returning the food I was wrongly handed instead of apologizing to me for the mistake. I offered to retrieve the wrong food from my home to which she replied it was too late? Would Mgr. Wendy have served the food after I took it home and opened it? I finally received a sarcastic apology only after I brought it to Mgr. Wendy's attention that nobody had even bothered to apologize to me for my trouble. By no means was I trying to profit from one's error but it never occurred to me to drive the food back to the CLOSED business (would I leave it at the door with a note?) or even the following day, I just wanted the $60 of food that I paid for. Needless to say, I was totally taken off guard by Mgr. Wendy's rudeness, bad attitude, and her attempt to shift the blame on me for their mistake. read more

Sometimes the drive thru line is a little long, but don't let that sway you--the wait is well worth it. The prices are very good and the food is even better. Lets get one thing straight, this is a drive up window place in the vein of a fast food restaurant (there are tables outside however) but there is nothing to the effect of in door dining, let alone waited table service. I am always skeptical of family owned fast food joints, but this place blew me away! Its delicious and is definitely an asset to Dickson (a city I feel is lacking in quality culinary options). The hush-puppies are perfect, the fried okra is divine, the sweet tea is totally southern, the catfish rocks the boat, and the wings (advertised as Memphis style) are bone sucking good. Whats not to love? This is the best of its kind in Dickson. I definitely think they would do well with an actual "sit down" restaurant but there's not much I can do about that, is there? This restaurant is a solid 4 stars & is definitely a go to place if your in Dickson... I will be back! My tips here are to get the catfish fillet with okra and hush-puppies (my favorite order here), the wings (get a large order as they are kinda on the small side) & avoid the fried chicken, I just didn't think it was that great. So in short, give them a try if you want some good southern fried catfish! read more

The last two times we've visited Goodwings, our order was wrong. I ordered BBQ tenders; I received buffalo. I ordered plain tenders; I received buffalo. Unfortunately I only checked the box on top in the bag. That box was correct, so I was filled with false hope all the way home. The buffalo tenders are good, yes, but I really wanted to try BBQ and plain on those visits. On the most recent visit, the sweet tea was not sweet at all, and it was watered down and warm. The styrofoam cups the tea was in smelled like fish. When you put the cup to your face, you were punched in the nose with catfish scent. It did not make for an appealing drink, and we tossed them as soon as we got out of the truck. :( The kitchen was full of teenagers on that most recent visit for what it's worth. I miss the Goodwings that was so, so good on all of our earlier visits in the last year! *update* They left our hush-puppies off our order on our latest visit. We were charged for them, but they weren't in the bag. At this point, the restaurant gets more wrong than they get right. It's a bummer. read more

If you like gas station chicken tenders and worse than gas station wings then is your place. I go through Dickson occasionally for work and I have been dying to try this place. So, @ about 2pm on 6/29 I got my chance. I ordered 10 wings with a large Dr. Pepper and 1 Famous Chicken strip. Came to about 12 bucks. It was the worst meal I have had in years. Wings were terrible and still had little "hairs" on them. Gross! Chicken strip was a straight up gas station chicken strip. I'm on the road 4 days a week and I know what gas station food tastes like. This place is gas station food. Too bad cuz I always pull for the small independent businesses. I ate 2 wings and the chicken strip but only because it was so late in the day and I had not eaten yet. I threw away almost all of the food. I NEVER do that. read more

My problem isn't the food. It's all fried, and all ok. Every time I went I ordered a large Coke, and got nothing but ice. One time I actually came home to measure how much Coke was in a LARGE container. One cup!! ONE CUP of Coke and 6-7 cups of ice for $1.99. I've heard that restaurants make more money on drinks than food, but this is flat out ridiculous! And they use tiny skinny straws that would make better coffee stirrers. So I got smart and started getting my Coke at the Dairy Queen on the way to Goodwings. Then I ordered what I always ordered, and she handed me iced tea and I said, "I didn't order tea." She said it came free with my meal. Funny, I had been there half a dozen times and never been given tea with the same dinner; nor had I received any sort of discount for never having tea included. Seems very inconsistent to me. Any way, my advice is to get your drink somewhere else. I also wish they had a better system than having you drive around to the window on the other side of the building to pick up your order. I was too excited to try out the wings at this location. Unfortunately, they were the worst wings that I have ever eaten. I ordered a 20 piece mild wing order. The wings were deep fried with loads of breading, saturated and soggy in a vinegar based sauce with more salt than should ever be consumed by any human being in a lifetime. The fries were also absolutely horrid. They were dried out, old and tasted like urine. Also, the grilled chicken tenders were over cooked and as tough as leather. It seems as if I will be sticking to BWW or Zaxby's for wings from here on out. I can not believe that people actually enjoy eating this type of food and continuously return for more. read more
