I don't imagine you'll ever read this letter, but my heart insists that I write it anyway. Ronnie's... oh, Ronnie's. I was beginning to believe again. I had visions of smoky barbecue, tender pulled pork, and the comfort only your food could bring. But every time I arrived these past months, I was met not with the smell of hickory smoke, but with locked doors and silent parking lots. My hope faded a little more with each visit. When your lights are on, the world feels right. But when I pull into the parking lot and find another "Closed" sign staring back at me, I realize that ours is a love destined to be tested by unfortunate timing. Perhaps fate simply refuses to let us be together. Perhaps I am forever cursed to crave what I cannot have. You've broken my heart more times than I care to admit. And yet, somehow, I know that if I saw your "Open" sign tomorrow, I would come running back without hesitation. Such is the burden of loving great barbecue. So I leave you with this letter--not in anger, but in sorrow. I return to you my appetite, though I suspect it will find its way back the moment your smoker starts up again. Stopped here for linner (lunch and dinner) while working in Dickson. This spot is the very definition of "Don't judge a book by its cover." There were signs saying 'Drive through only' and it wrapped around the smoker pit, and stack of hardwood. The smoke/meaty smell was making me hungry and stomach growl before I could get to the order speaker. The menu was focused on BBQ staples, from pulled pork, ribs, chicken, and brisket on the meat side. Sides were as you would expect both kinds of slaw and other dishes that make you take notice. They worked with me to get me an out of town hungry guy tray...ok I ordered 1/2 # of most meats. I ended up with brisket, smoked chicken, pulled pork, and some ribs. The half smoked chicken was some of the best I have had in my life, and was the fist thing I finished off. Lots of great flavor and tenderness. The ribs were tender, flavorful and made me want more. We were told this is where the best BBQ in Dickson is and it didn't let down. The moist brisket was tasty and fall apart moist, but the real winner was the smoked chicken. It fell apart and had such great flavor. While the sides are good, they don't speak volumes like the meats. The macaroni to me is just generic, but the potato salad was legit. They only had banana pudding on the weekend so we couldn't try that. It really is good barbecue and quick! Large portions and decent prices. Friendly faces too! Very welcoming. read more

Now that was BBQ. We pulled through the drive through in our RV so someone came out to give us direction for how to pull off the side so they could bring us our food (awning was a little low for us). Ribs were phenomenal. Chicken was superb. Pulled pork was amazing. Brisket was delicious. Spicy sauce was on point. Potato salad was also very good! Would eat here again in a heart beat. read more

The pork potato cost 8.50 and had about two tablespoons of pork on it. Gigantic potato but barely any toppings. The mac and cheese was just really bland. Completely unseasoned. Could have at least had pepper. read more

We are on a road trip and made our way from California to Dallas and on our way to Ohio, I looked this place up on Yelp and saw all the great reviews. Hubby ordered the pork rib plate and I had the brisket. The brisket is offered lean (without the fat) or with fat. Of course I got it with fat. I like that they offered coleslaw two different ways, with vinegar or with mayo. So we tried one each. I enjoyed the vinegar one, not that anything was wrong with the mayo coleslaw, i had just never had cole slaw with only vinegar dressing. Hubby got the white beans as his second side and I ordered the macaroni and cheese. We were able to meet the owner who was awesome. He was very cordial and even gave us pie to take for the road. It was awesome to try some Tennessean BBQ, which is different from the way we make it at home and the way I was raised up eating it, as my father is from Texas. Thanks so much Ronnie!!! I was in Dickson today for work. Someone recommended this place as the best barbecue in Dickson. I had to check it out. Inside is an ordering area. You walk in and order. Then its just take out. They have tables outside. It was raining though. Here's where they earn every one of their 5 stars: The food was very good. They were patient with me in ordering as a first timer. I took my food outside and it started raining. When Ronnie himself saw me sitting at the picnic table. He said I could eat inside his smoke house that was covered. I walked inside and saw the gigantic smoke chamber. Unbelievable. He opened it up and showed me inside what was cooking. This man takes pride in his work. I got the large barbecue sandwich and fries. There looked to be a lot on the menu too, including ribs, brisket, chicken. I thought that his gesture was kind and he didn't even trash talk other barbecue places in town. This place supposedly sells pulled pork but in my experience I can hardly call it pulled. Recently I went there and ordered 2 lbs. of what was supposed to be pulled pork. When I opened the container what I actually had was 2 huge pieces of pork,pulled it wasn't. My husband and I stopped here after hiking at Montgomery Bell State Park. It is a little difficult to see from the road, but you can definitely smell the smoker as you're approaching! I ordered the chicken plate with baked beans and Mac N cheese, and my husband got the rib plate (also w/ Mac and Cheese). The drumstick portion of my chicken was great...it fell off the bone. But the rest of it was pretty dry. The macaroni and cheese was really runny, and the baked beans were just ok. While the rib meat fell off the bone, they were pretty fatty. I wish we would have tried the brisket. I would go back and give it another shot to try the brisket. Oh, and we had the banana pudding for dessert, which was good. Also - keep in mind that if you eat outside there, there is a chance you will smell like the smoker! Wow, wow, wow! I had them cater for a graduation party of 35 people. Prior to this, I was having issues with another local BBQ, and that's when someone has recommended Ronnie Q. I called the establishment and immediately the woman on the phone directed me to Ronnie by giving his cellphone number so he's able to answer all of my questions. He was absolutely accommodating! I called two weeks prior, and we were able to pay ahead of time as well. He was incredibly kind and I really appreciate his willingness to work with my requests regarding the food. I wanted the food to delivered and set-up as I was not able to be present due to the graduation event. He arrived half an hour early - which I was exactly half an hour away, so he was willing to wait till I arrived. Once I arrived, he dropped everything off, and left. During the event of the party, he texted me asking if everything was all good, and I absolutely appreciated that he took the time to check-up on us. Now, the food. Oh my goodness was it phenomenal. I had ordered ribs, brisket, mac & cheese, and baked beans. I ordered the mac & cheese because it was highly recommended, and I absolutely agree! It was so creamy, and tasty! I enjoyed the baked beans because they were sweet with a slight kick to it! The brisket and ribs were amazing as they fell apart and off the bone! We had a lot of food leftover, and I stored them in the freezer - let me say, even having it as leftovers still taste just as great as it did when it arrived! I was absolutely impressed and happy to have chosen Ronnie Q. The food was great, customer service was top-notch, and the price was definitely worth it all! I have had BBQ from everyplace in Dickson county, which is hard to do with all of the crazy hours of operation that each of them have. I first tried ronnieq when GE sold on Saturdays at Chappels. Very glad to see that they opened a place to serve during the week. The brisket is unbelievable. You don't even need sauce for it. Ronnie and his staff catered my May 2016 wedding weekend welcome dinner. We are from out of state, and someone at our wedding venue suggested we try their BBQ. After a BBQ of Dickson County where we tasted four BBQ joints over two days, we felt that Ronnie was easy to work with and had the best brisket we'd ever tasted let alone in Dickson County, TN. -During our unannounced visit during our BBQ tour, Ronnie's staff treated us well and surprisingly gave us a free sample. We thanked them profusely and bought few other things to thank them financially. -They had great pricing on our bulk catering purchase of ribs, brisket, and pulled pork for 100 people - Ronnie was easy to reach and friendly via phone. - Ronnie included chaffing dishes as a last minute perk because our rental fell thru. - EVERYONE loved the BBQ.
