We haven't been to Applebee's in forever and I really wanted cheesesticks. The appetizer sampler was my choice since it came with a little bit of everything. Not gonna lie, I compared the meal to Chilis because they are our go to for chips and salsa and this type of meal. While the cheese sticks, boneless wings, and quesadilla were on par, Chilis still wins at the chips and salsa. The chips were too burnt and the salsa too smoky. That's my personal preference though. I'm a fan of the thin airy tortilla chips. The spinach dip was a bit too toasted on top, but the dip itself was good. The salad was really good. Extremely large and packed with toppings. The quesadilla loaded with cheese and toppings too. The server was fantastic. She was on it for refills and making sure food was good. The place was clean too. Didn't use the bathroom, so I can't speak for that. It was a busy Monday evening though and the food came out fast and hot. read more

Service was great! Food choices for someone allergic to soy are extremely minimal. Did you know Applebees does not use butter or even have butter available? An oil based spread is what they call it (soy); AND NO EVOO! The items on the menu, ie Cilantro rice is NOT SOY FREE when one on the ingredients listed on the allergen info is soybean oil. I'm highly allergic! It makes a difference! Cmon Applebees up your game with some real ingredients & transparency on your menu. You're not playing fair for those who depend on correct info. "Are you serious" is the first phrase that comes to mind. We walked in last night and the 2 ladies at the hostess station just about ignored our presence. As they both were walking away one turned back and I asked for a table for two. She told us "the wait was 25 minutes", OMG, REALLY, the place is empty. I asked if they were short workers she replied yes. We walked out and then decided to go back and sit at the bar. So now we're sitting at the bar getting the best attention and service from Dante, the bartender and three separate couples walk in and are immediately seated. I WAS stunned. We ordered burgers, drinks and then dessert and No complaints. If we didn't go back and sit at the bar this review would of been completely different. All I can say is that the two women that were seating people or better yet not seating some people can ruin a business very quickly. read more

Our server Crystal was absolutely amazing!!!! With a full section she stayed on top of everything. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. Trying to sit down and enjoy dinner with my family. Everything was fine and dandy until a huge group came in with multiple drunk people. Shouting sexually inappropriate words, using crude language and were super racist. We informed staff several times and they talked to the group and eventually we ended up moving to another table. How do you explain to a kid what it means to have to pull @$$ hairs out of their teeth after eating one. Didn't offer us a discount on our ticket. Kind of just ignored us after we were moved. We had to wait to be seated 15-30 minutes on Dec. 20,2021 when there were numerous tables and booths empty. It took 30-40 minutes to get the food. Our waitress was great!! Lackluster at best. It's very much a hit or miss with this place, which is really frustrating considering we are fans of Applebee's menu. Other Applebee's that we have visited have been pleasant experiences, but this one for some reason has never been impressive in the least. Visited this nothing-special-chain Applebee's in my former stomping grounds for a friend's birthday gathering this weekend. In her words, (she still live there), she likes the food better at Logan's, but the drinks better at Applebee's, so you see where the focus was on this particular gathering. First of all, the restaurant is located in the outer parking lot of what was once a Wal-Mart (way back) and now a bowling alley and a Goodwill super store. At night the entrances are not particularly well lit and it's easy to pull into the wrong driveway coming from I-40 (wonder who did that...). The parking lot isn't very well kept, I guess it's all common to the development, but even at night I saw way more trash and uneven pavement than you would prefer in the parking lot. Sunday night between Christmas and New Year's at 6 PM and they were packed. I actually beat the other girls there as they started a movie I couldn't schedule, so after touring the place to make sure they were not already imbibing, I put our name in. Now, it's been a while since I've been to Dickson, and I've never been to this Applebee's before. I haven't been in any Applebee's in at least 10 years I guess, and I'll just say it's what you probably expect. I was admittedly jaded having spent the previous afternoon at Opry Mills, a shopping mistake I don't plan to ever repeat, but I'll write more on that in its review. As you entered the Applebee's the clouds of smoke from addicted customers smoking on the chilly patio was a bit overhwelming. I'm sorry, you just don't see that in my current home base of Cool Springs. The crowd in the bar and grill was, well, different again. Lots of long hair, unkempt beards, ball caps, Confederate flags, a few mullets (seriously), and girls wearing too tight t-shirts and ill-fitting clothes in general. I don't mean to sound like a snob, but I guess after living in Franklin for 15 years I've become one. It's just - different. The girls that I was celebrating with arrived (all wearing appropriate attire and make-up, I might add) and we continued to wait what felt like a lot longer than the previosly proclaimed 20 minutes for our party of five. We ordered drinks and appetizers, the drinks arriving after maybe 10 minutes and the appetizers seriously taking like 30 minutes. The waitress was exclaiming that the kitchen had been backed up from the earlier crowd they weren't expecting... (really? Sunday night of a holiday weekend, and you're surprised people go out to eat?)... and apologized. She was nice enough, but seriously just kept getting everything confused giving th wrong drinks to the wrong folks, one person asking for something and her presenting to someone else, and quite humorously she was absolutely convinced the friend sitting next to the birthday girl was the celebrant. The food was slightly below par in my opinion. The fried cheese appetizer was lukewarm when arriving (after the long wait), and I had ordered the chicken/broccoli/pasta that was again lukewarm and the smaller-than-averge chicken portion looked kind of sad. The alfredo sauce tasted like it had possibly sat out too long as well, but by this pont after drinks and talking, I wasn't really hungry anyway. The servers did bring out a complimentary ice cream sundae and sang for our friend - a pleasant surprise considering I didn't think they did that sort of thing anymore. But all in all - service was slow, food was blah, and even when the crowds had very much thinned out and there were open tables everywhere - they still keep people on a wait. I left about 9 pm, and they finally had a no-wait lobby around 8:30 pm. Is there anything that can realistically be done to improve an Applebee's experience? I don't know. Having not been to one in forever, maybe this is what the food is supposed to be like, and this chain is a sort of "training ground" for servers aspiring to work at nicer restaurants. But either way, I'll hopefully not have to return to find out. read more

I'll start by saying this isn't the greatest spot in town. Food is probably the best thing they've got going for themselves. Double date dinner with some friends. We came in at 7pm and got sat right away. We sat in a booth and started talking. Our server got our drink orders; regular and bar. She came back a little while later, since we were all chatting, and asked if we were going to eat as well or just drinks. It came off super rude. We ordered a little later. Our food was good. We all enjoyed it. My friend got a dirty martini, which was really good. I got the special, bahama mama, it was okay. You couldn't really taste the liquor in it at all. I guess I can't complain too much since it was $1. We all got dessert as well. They all fell in love with the blondie. I got the brownie bite. It was the perfect size; like two bites. Most of our dirty plates stayed on the table. She checked on us a couple times, but never took dirty dishes. Not impressed. Again, not my favorite place. Food is good. Drinks are average, if that. Our visit was on a Monday evening. Several tables were available. Receptionist couldn't seem to figure out which table to give us. Asked if we wanted table or booth. We said table please. After a couple of minutes she seated us at a booth. She did clean the area well before seating us. Food (steak, shrimp, broccoli, fries) was okay but nothing spectacular. Server was very busy, handling at least 6 tables (booths). Will probably give them another try some time, but will check out other eateries in the area first. read more

I get a steak and asked for medium, the waitress brought it out to me and it was well done. I sent it back and got a new one and it was in the middle of medium well and well done, hardly any pink. I sent it back and didn't ask for another one. The manager comes to me and says "was your steak not cooked right again?" I said no and she says "well we cook it at this temperature so it was medium" I told her what I got back wasn't right. She rolls her eyes and just says "ok" I did not get an "i'm sorry" or anything. We had a party of 15 people, and this establishment handled us with no problem. We had a courteous waiter who had more tables than ours, and he was great. Thank you to Applebees for fantastic service and some well prepared food. read more

Our party of 4 arrived at approx 5pm on a Monday evening. We were seated promptly. Our drinks from the bar (draft on tap) arrived in good order. Our waitress was persistent in taking our kitchen order so after her asking if we were ready for the 5th time in 3 minutes, we ordered. She stopped at our table after about 20 minutes had transpired and advised she was still waiting on 1 of the 4 ordered items and our complete order should be ready soon. All of us ordered easy to fulfill entrees so we were not concerned. Another 20 minutes goes by and still no food. Another 15 minutes goes by and she delivers the entrees. 2 out of 4 were cold. As in completely cold. Offers to have the kitchen remake the 2 items. We would haven been ok with a quick microwave reheat but were not offered that option. So 2 of our party completely ate their meals and the remaining 2 persons waited. And waited. Finally came out from the kitchen 25 minutes later but since 2 out of 4 of us were finished, we told them to keep the 2 cold orders. The manager ended up providing the now 2 hot meals to us complementary, which we took to go. After 90 minutes spent at Applebee's, we just wanted to leave. Will not be back. read more

Pretty decent Applebees, it certainly has improved within the next few years. The wait staff could be better trained, and the food is satisfactory 80% of the time. My only complaint is some of my favorite appetizers are no longer on the menu. Overall, good place to go to late night for half priced appetizers. read more

Applebees has started to let me down. I stopped coming a few months back because I kept getting food poisoning and the waitress never brought what I asked and didn't check up on us. So I come out today and our waitress was not on her game today. It is not that busy. The host sat us but she did not give our kids crayons for their menus and did not give us our sliver ware.
