    Taco Salad

Always a good choice! The food is authentic and delicious. Sometimes there can be a language barrier with staff, but if I learned another language, then it probably wouldn't be a problem and that's really my problem not theirs. I have family that doesn't live far from there and it is always our go to and they never disappoint. They will lower the music if you ask. They also have a large dining room room in the back for large parties.

I came here on a Friday night expecting a large crowd but I'm guessing between the holidays and the ongoing Pandemic, it's affected business. The crowd was light but the drinks were flowing. I really liked the service we received by all of the staff. They were friendly and very attentive when we needed something. I must say though, the food was good but it was missing something. I recall coming here every so often for the last ten years as it's one of the better Mexican restaurants in the hood. Tonight's dinner was a little off for me but thankfully, everyone else at the table enjoyed theirs. I had the Cinco de Mayo combo which has one chimichanga, one taco and one enchilada. The beef in my enchilada was a little tough. The chimichanga was supposed to be fried more so that was disappointing. Taco was spot on. My friends ordered the steak with rice and beans and the creamy shrimp entree. Both were quite good I'm told. But believe me, the drinks were better! We had sangria, dirty martini, shots and dessert to boot. Flan was okay, not memorable but we liked the churros and ice cream. The churros could've been less firm but flavors were as expected.

Enchilada Lunch Special (I took a bite) and Side of Chips and Salsa

If you're looking for a local spot that's been serving customers for years, this is the place to go. I'm not too familiar with this place, but after sitting down for a while, some customers came in and greeted the people behind the bar like friends. It's a place of community, and a good place for small groups and a quick meal that doesn't break the bank. Years ago, I got the Bayside Burrito lunch special delivered, and I remembered loving it. I came back and got the Enchilada lunch special with chicken, and they put down some tortilla chips on the side, which I'm not sure if it's complimentary with the meal or just in general. Couldn't help but take a bite before the photo. It was hot and everything is seasoned well, but it's even better with some salsa. I will be coming back as long as the place is open.

Tiny sauce container to go for $5 (Gau & Sour cream)

They scammed charging every chips for $5 each basket which used to be complementary, and 4% credit card surcharge on top of sales tax on food and tips was already added at 20% for party of 6 which was little fishy, also $5 additional for city tax on each 3 credit cards, so we asked them to void transactions so that we can run to the bank next door to get cash, owner said they can not do it, meaning they wouldn't do it. Everything over priced and they even charged little Gau and sour cream small sauce container for to go for $5, they wouldn't take it off from the bill, its ridiculously rip off! Servers are playing ball game next to us where no customers except our table in the back of room, wondering why there's no customers on the weekend? And servers abandoned us, not even attentive at all, Food served slow for typical Mexican food, average taste, not worth of money, Never again

The complimentary chips and salsa were good, especially the salsa. However, we found out that the refills on the chips now cost extra; a year or so ago, extra chips were free. We ordered the Lomo Saltado and the Chicken Enchiladas with green sauce from the lunch special. The steak in the Lomo Saltado was good; however, overall, it was a little salty. The Chicken Enchiladas with green sauce had good variety, and they came with rice, beans, and a little bit of guacamole. For drinks, we ordered the Coconut Piña Colada and Virgin Strawberry Piña Colada. The Coconut Piña Colada was not too sweet, while the Virgin Strawberry Piña Colada was good. Overall, the price here is cheap, but the food did not wow us, and something about our experience was a little off.

Little hole in the wall on bell, their lunch special is pretty good. $8.95 and a bunch of different things to choose from. We came here on a Tuesday afternoon, had our drinks and We got the steak fajitas and lomo saltado. We also got the chipotle shrimp as an appetizer. Met the manager Lucas who was super friendly. They start you off with some chips and salsa. The salsa could have been thicker however still not too shabby. We also got a side of guacamole. All lunch specials are served with rice, beans, sour cream and guacamole. Overall pretty decent spot. Have to come back here and try some more of their options.

Been forever since I was here last and wow what a difference. the mushroom quesadilla was delish, as was the classic margarita and the special vegetarian combo - guac taco, chile relleno, and a mixed veg chimichanga. My friends frequent here often and I can see why! The chef/owner is from Mexico and is usually in the kitchen

I had the taquitos with chicken. They were very good. The chicken was tender and the meal was very tasty. My friend had the chicken Mole. She indicated that she's traveled all over Mexico and never had such a great chicken mole dish. The fried ice cream was decadent. The karaoke, which started at nine, was a lot of fun! There were songs sung both in English and in Spanish. There was actually some really good talent and the host / DJ kept the party going. I am definitely going back to Mama Rosa's for an authentic Mexican meal. I'll also plan to go back on Friday nights for the karaoke.

Went in but one of us had a baby and they denied us service! They refused to seat us at the bar which is part of the happy hour. I mean, what baby is drinking at the bar?!!! Incredibly silly and unprofessional. Fine they don't want to seat the group at the bar because of a baby, at least offer the happy hour at the table that we were forced to sit at. No they didn't. We left. This isn't how you treat customers. People go out to eat to relax and have a good time. There are plenty of restaurants nearby with warm ambiance and great food options. This place was not it. I bet the food is probably horrible, hence the happy hour to get people in the door. Bad staff. Bad place. Go somewhere that cares for their customers.

Not fluent in English, but very friendly service. They have an extensive menu! They give complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa is a sweet tomato-y salsa and the chips are crisp. The Chimichanga with Cecina (Salted Beef) was stuffed! Crisp fried exterior, covered in flavorful red (tomato-y) and green (herb-y) sauces. The cecina is perfectly salted. I enjoyed the guac and chips (same as the complimentary chips) and pico on the side added freshness. They also have a house red and green sauce, which have a good kick and flavor to them. The Pineapple Juice is the right amount of sweetness and tart. I like that there's no ice so it's a full glass of juice! Overall a neat local spot to hit up for good food and friendly service (and a full bar!).

Surprisingly, it is a dish that is hard to find in the Flushing/Fresh Meadows area especially in a sit down, comfortable restaurant. The Chilaquiles was a nice little plate of deliciousness - I loved the tangy green salsa soaked bed of tortilla with nicely fried over easy eggs (they way I ordered it). A fan of avocado, tomato and onions top the dish as well - it comes with a side of rice and beans. I recently returned when I was in the mood for enchiladas - they have combo option with beef, chicken and cheese. I ordered them divorced style with both red and green salsa. It comes blanketed with a shredded lettuce salad with tomato, onions and avocado. Rice and beans round out the dish. A couple of other dishes I tasted were the eggs with chorizo and the chimichanga - both were very good. I love their house salsas both a dark red and green one. They bring out tortilla chips with a thick salsa that is tomato-ey sweet. They have a full bar if you are so inclined and the service is very good here.

The worst part first: The check comes and there is no detailed receipt breakdown, only two receipts both with the subtotal only and three "suggested tip" amounts of 18% through 25%. The total looked high for the two of us. I asked for the receipt details with food prices and when she brought it over, there was already an 18% tip added!!!! For a party of TWO!! That is a non starter. They said the owner decided this was the way he wanted it.l done. There is not one restaurant I have EVER gone to that would add a tip for TWO people. I would have tipped that amount anyway but the waitress brings over a blank receipt with MORE "suggested tip" amounts and does not tell me it was automatically added? Nothing in the the menu about tips automatically being added??? Any PROPER respectable restaurant puts that information in writing AND would write "additional tip" on the receipt so the customer knows tips are already added. Absolutely trying to dupe the customer out of money. Unacceptable. Someone came over and said "the waitress is new and she did not know"... that's a bunch of BS because there are certainly the other things I mentioned above that they should ALSO be doing to prevent their customers from overtipping 36% or more. Now add in the fact the fajita vegetables were burned black. I asked for pickled jalepenos twice only to get fresh jalepenos and after a THIRD time, I got the pickled ones I asked for. I asked for black beans, and she repeated it back to me when we ordered, and I got pinto beans. Terrible customer service and absolutely deplorable management to add pre set tips and not change the receipt to read "additional tip". That ONLY means they are aware and they hope you don't look at the bill and overtip. Deceitful. If you choose to go, be sure you ask for a detailed receipt and be sure you don't add additional tip unless you want to. They are lucky they took the 18% automatically because after that stunt, they would have gotten nothing.
