Scout Mob was a great way to try this place, until now did not know they were open for lunch. Duck Pappardelle is made with a red sauce with a touch of garlic and grape tomatoes and enough duck meat to satisfy but not over whelm. The Olive bread, had slices of what looked like two different types of olives was a nice touch, it is served with a dish of olive oil with a bit of balsamic vinegar in it. More on this one later, will update sooner than you think. Lets talk meatballs for a minute I found out these meatballs are made with the proper ingredients pork, veal and beef. These are slowly braised for a day in marinara they are good but have a touch to much oregano in them. If you ask Cibo might make a half order of pasta for you and on one evening tried a half order of the Chicken Marsala. It is rich and creamy. Another upscale Italian place opened in my neighborhood! I was excited to hear about this a few months ago, especially since the pub that used to be here was nothing special. We finally made it for lunch to celebrate our anniversary. The menu has a good variety: small plates, soup, salad, pizza, pasta, sandwiches, and entrees. Many things sounded delicious, and the server's recommendations aligned pretty well with what I was already seriously considering, so that made the ordering fairly easy. We opted for the caesar salad, the soppresate piccante pizza, and the orecchiette pasta, all to share. Almost immediately, warm sliced bread arrived with balsamic and olive oil for dipping. The salad came quickly. It's billed as being ""teenage" romaine, poached farm egg crouton, white anchovy, reggiano", and it's definitely a new take on caesar. The flavors were quite intense and somewhat unexpected, so it took me some time to appreciate. It was a little heavy on the dressing for my taste. Shortly after finishing the salad, the pasta and pizza came out. The server then offered and brought out calipreza pepper, crushed red pepper, and fresh grated parmesan. She left the small dish of peppers, but dispensed the crushed red pepper and parmesan herself. The orrecchiette was dressed with cubes of local sausage, turnip greens, and reggiano. The pasta was perfectly cooked, and the flavors were wonderful. It's a great combination, but I felt that I could make it myself at home. The pizza was great. One of the best neapolitan pizzas in town. Though it didn't have much char, which I love, the crust was nice and crispy throughout, even the center. The sauce was only slightly sweet, and the soppresate was indeed spicy, just by itself. I will definitely be back for this pizza. The interior is beautiful, very warm and cozy. Instead of benches for booths, they have wingbacked love seats. The table tops are polished wood. The decor also includes wood (presumably for the pizza oven, though not sure it's ever actually used) mixed with the alcohol bottles, and black and white images on the walls. There is a TV over the bar, which was showing famous food and bar clips from the movies. With the addition of CeB to this strip mall, the parking lot is maxed out, so they now have valet, even for lunch. Came here with the work crew and enjoyed a nice lunch on their patio. The restaurant was near empty during lunch time so we didn't really know what to expect. The restaurant is located in a small strip mall next to a few other restaurants. We started with the meatballs which were very flavorful and pretty big in size (comes with 4 pieces) to split among our group of 5. I ordered the Radiatori alla Vodka (sausage, spicy tomato cream sauce) for my entree. It was a simple pasta dish executed very well. Just the right balance of creamy, spicy, and meaty. Cibo e Beve is one of my mom's "goto" restaurants so I've dined here many times (for free...thanks mom). Cibo means food and Beve means drink. The atmosphere is classy, cozy, and the service is good. The restaurant is on OpenTable so make a reservation to get those points! For starters, my favorites are the meatballs and crispy brussels. I attended a couple of Chef Linda's cooking classes at Cibo and at one we made the meatballs. The balls are made with 3 different meats. I can't remember the exact meats but I think it has brisket, short rib, and the 3rd I can't even guess at. Regardless, they're delicious with the house made tomato sauce. The crispy brussels are a staple in my mom's order. She orders them without cheese, but they are delicious nonetheless. They are cooked in the 500+ degree+ pizza oven to deliver the "crisp." For my main I usually order a pizza because I'm a sucker for fancy pizza. I've had the Diavola (has a spicy kick), Brooklyn (Italian sausage and onions) and Margherita. All are delicious, but as I get older my pizza taste has gotten simpler and simpler for some reason so, if I had to choose the best, I'm a slight Margherita lean. I'm 94% sure that the dough is not 00, so don't compare to Antico, but it's a good pie. I've also had their branzino (aka European seabass) special before and it was awesome! The fish was mild and moist. I've also tried the lobster spaghetti...very good! I appreciate the simplicity of the dish and letting the ingredients do the talking. Ask you server for wine recommendations as they are on point. I'm not a wine connoisseur in the least, but they have a lot of good Italian wines. IMPORTANT NOTE: I'm not sure they still do this, but you can buy a bottle of wine to take away at retail prices. I believe most of the wines that they carry can't be bought in your local package store. I did this once to bring wine to a fancy dinner party. I'll leave you with tip: If you're into cooking or Food Network shows, I'd recommend sending at the back counter where you can watch the open kitchen and pizza oven while you eat. Having been to Food 101, and knowing that my dad loves Italian food, I figured this would be a good option for a quality birthday restaurant recommendation somewhere between Buckhead, where I live, and way-OTP-land, where he and my stepmom live. Damn, it was a good suggestion. My sister and I arrived together. My stepmom was already there. And our dad arrived about 20 minutes later. Fortunately, this was no problem; stepmom was already seated and we were taken very good care of. This is a sign of good service to me! I do think the booths, with couch-like seats on each side, are really cramped and caused date-like proximity to my sister as well as nowhere to put her and my stepmom's various lady-bags and jackets. I would much rather have sat at a table. The ambience of the place is really romantic, and I'm very likely to take a date here at some point. The bar area is pretty, the light is pleasant, and the service is great. There's a really great selection of in-house drinks, all of which sounded really good. I was in the mood for some bourbon, neat, so I took the recommendation of our waiter. I wish I could remember the name of what he brought me, because it was really good! I absolutely loved the food. I am a huge fan of Italian food, and this is some of the best I've had lately. The pasta e fagiole soup was a great starter, but the entress were the real standout. I ordered the black taglierini (LOVE black pasta) with a spicy tomato sauce and shrimp. Man, it was amazing. I can't recommend this dish enough - tender pasta, sweet shrimp, and the perfect amount of spice. Great place for a lunch that's upscale, delicious, and won't break the bank. My boyfriend and I stopped in for lunch one day this week and were not disappointed. The place wasn't too crowded, which was shocking, since Bangkok Thyme next door had a 30 minute wait (and doesn't have as delicious food, in my opinion...). I got the baked ziti, and as a ziti lover, I was not disappointed. The portion was very hearty (I could not finish it all!), and so, so good. It contained delicious crumbles of italian sausage, and a generous topping of cheese. The pasta sauce wasn't quite at the level of my boyfriend's italian grandmother's recipe, but came pretty close. My boyfriend got the chicken marsala, which came over pasta with alfredo sauce, and he also loved it. Overall, an excellent meal for just over $10 a plate. Cibo e Beve has a very comfortable, but modern feel. Cushy benches and pillows comprise a large portion of the seating in this place. I was so comfy, I could have fallen asleep! Cibo e Beve is new on the scene. First impressions are good so far. Another gem in the 101 Concepts crown located in the same center as Food 101 on Roswell Road in Sandy Springs. Because of Chef Linda Harrell's affinity for Italian cuisine, they have re-energized this concept into a location that is both cozy and chic at the same time. Like their other concepts, you will find generous portions delivered to the table. What really excited my eye was the vibrant San Agostino green olives. Delicately flavored fatty green jewels charmingly served in a mason jar. Get over your eating pit-in olives in public issues and order some. Arancini is fairly decent. What's not to love about a fried ball of risotto? It comes on a light bed of marinara. I was a hamachi virgin until this night. What was I waiting for (perhaps lack of it on menus elsewhere)? Incredibly fresh, stunningly dressed and balanced in flavor. Can I have 4 more orders please? White bean and escarole soup is solid. I am going back for more when the weather cools so I can have my soul warmed by this homey well flavored comfort food. Butter Poached Scallops with confit shallot risotto, white chocolate fennel veloute, popcorn shoots is genius. Every part of this dish is exquisitely executed. First time back to Cibo since COVID. Glad to see the place full on a Friday night. However there were no COVID protocols in place. We sat at the bar and every seat was taken and I was less than 6 ' from the next couple. The bartender was less than attentive. I guess she's not used to post COVID crowds. Measured pour, and the pasta was ok. Don't think I'll order it again. But what got me was the 3.5% surcharge to use my credit card. The owner, Gianni, said it was "COVID related" but he wasn't practicing ANY COVID procedures. I guess just another way to take advantage of the situation. Sorry but I won't be back. read more

Overall a solid meal, one of the better Italian spots in the area. Starters: The calamari was tasty. Even better were the candied peppers sprinkled over the top and the marinara sauce on the side. Nicely fried, well-plated, overall well done. The three people I dined with raved about the Brussels sprouts. Loved them, loved the roast, loved the seasoning. They were flavorful, yes, but I found them to be a bit over cooked and mushy. A couple bites and I was done. Entrees: The orecchiette sausage dish was awesome. I'm leaving the "broccoli" out of the description because it largely was left off my plate. That being said, the pasta, sausage, and sauce were excellent: one of those dishes where you keep eating even though your pleasant food baby has become angry food twins. I would have liked to try the flounder with risotto, but my partner cleaned the entire plate in seemingly seconds. He clearly liked it. The pappardelle with short rib ragu was delicious and rich: it made for a nice leftover lunch the next day. The host was pleasant. He gave us options of where we'd like to sit (a nice touch!) and checked in partway through the meal to make sure all was going well. The waiter was knowledgeable about the menu. He expertly timed taking orders, serving of dishes, and giving us the check, so that we had plenty of time to relax and socialize, without overstaying. The flow to the meal was impeccable. Parking is tight in front of the restaurant, but there's a sizable lot near the back of the building. The hilly walk to the car is somewhat welcome after such a rich dinner. Prices overall were on the high end of the range for the area, but in keeping with the quality of service: pasta in the low to mid $20s, and meat dishes in the mid $20s to mid $30s. Appetizer: Formaggi with pear mostarda. If you are a fan of flavorful and strong cheeses, this is a must. Local blue cheese. I have to say this was great by itself. Deep almost smoky flavor. Parmigiano Reggiano was also good by itself. Milky. I think the 3rd cheese was a Camambert, which I liked most with the pear with mustard seeds. Orecchiette: Pasta had a good bite, though I prefer slightly softer pasta. Local farms sausage, asiago, and the turnip greens were a surprising balance of different textures and flavors. Turnip greens were a great accent on the dish. Red Velvet Zeppole: Basically a Donut, but using Red Velvet cake, speckled with chocolate shavings, fried, and dusted with sugar. Dipped in white chocolate mascarpone cream. I felt like I was tasting each element of the doughnut. Fun to eat. Definitely will be coming back to keep trying dishes. read more

I thought that it'd be a little bland considering that there was no tomato sauce base, but...man oh man...what a surprising flavor punch it packed. So my husband and I were looking for a happy hour sushi spot when the general manager of Cibo e Beve sparked a conversation with us. He asked if we had been there before and we told him we haven't. He told us to come in and have an appetizer on him. We gladly accepted and made our way into the swank restaurant. The decor was very contemporary and sleek. We went on ladies night so there were an array of cocktails for me to choose from. I had a delicious peach bourbon cocktail and my husband had an IPA. My drink was delicious!! For our appetizer we had the peroni steamed mussels. The sauce could have had a little more umph (lol) but still good. We wanted to try a dish and decided on the Carbonara. For our entrees me and a friend shared a caprese salad and the mushroom risotto which were fantastic. My friends ordered the lamb shank, short ribs ravioli and hamburger. This is our second time visiting and our fist time we ordered to go and had the worst pizza. Would not recommend the truffle pizza. We decided to give it a go again and after ordering appetizers we noticed the line cook eating while cooking. We watched her put something in her mouth spit it back out because it was too hot and then continue eating. She never washed her hands and continued to cook. When talked to our waiter he was very polite and said he would let her know it's not acceptable. Then when we asked to pay for our bill and leave and the manager was incredibly rude. Sadly the 4 entrees were all putrid. 2 of us ordered different pasta dishes and after 2 bites each pushed them aside. We felt it was so hopeless bringing a replacement was going to change nothing. My wife ordered the $45 sea bass with broccolini. She repeated her requirements 3 times. No oil, no salt, no butter. Naturally, it was drenched in salt and oil. They offered to re-cook first the broccolini, and then the fish itself. 1 hour later as we were about to leave they offered to bring her meal. We declined and they did deduct it. The 4th dish was the chicken piccata, good enough to eat 20% and take home the rest. I would never eat here again. read more

For the price (over $100 for the meal), it was an incredible disappointment. My lobster pasta tasted -and I say this with caution- of absolutely nothing, apart from one piece of lobster tasting off (upon which I discarded the rest). The salmon was so overcooked it resembled dry dog food. The brussels were swimming in oil. The orecchiette was the star of the show, which isn't saying much - palatable, but under-seasoned and didn't stand up to similar dishes elsewhere. I was never a fan of carbonara. More often than not I end up nauseous after eating this cream based pasta. Cibo though got me to change my mind. It was Divine! That egg was amazing! We also had another excellent pasta dish with brocollini and Italian sausage. The only thing that fell short was the coffee. It was soooooooo watery and didn't taste like coffee anymore. It was more like hot water with milk and sugar. You would think because it's an Italian restaurant they would serve good coffee. So we hope they improve on that. read more

Outstanding birthday dinner for my husband. This was our first time here. I've been wanting to come for years. He loves Italian food so this seemed fitting. We made a reservation for the night. The front parking lot was packed but around back there were many spots available. We were seated and immediately given glasses of water and warm bread with olive oil for dipping. It was Thursday which is ladies night so I had my pick of several bottles of wine which were half off. I picked a popular red wine which we found was sold out so our waitress, Mary, substituted it for a similar higher priced wine and honored the price of the initial one we picked. The wine and bread were great to start with. We ordered calamari, lobster spaghetti with white sauce and taglierini norcina. The calamari came perfectly crisp with a light batter and no tentacles, which made me happy because I only line the rings. It had marinara and a sweet chili sauce for dipping. They were both so good I alternated each time I ate a piece of calamari. The pastas blew our minds. The portions were huge! My taglierini norcina was the most perfect blend of cream sauce, truffles and Italian sausage. My non-meat eating husband actually likes the flavor of it. I could eat it everyday although I'm sure I shouldn't. We both had more than half of our pastas left over so Mary wrapped them to go. She also recorked our wine so we could take the rest home. For dessert hubby was offered a complimentary dessert for his birthday. We brought a bundtlet from Nothing Bundt Cakes and Mary plated it with the complimentary gelato including a candle! It was so thoughtful. I sang happy bday and then the table next to us joined in singing which was a fun. I am looking forward to my next visit here very soon. We went to Cibo e Beve after seeing it on Atlanta Eats. It's located in a small strip mall but once inside, you won't notice. We really enjoyed the place. We started with the octopus and they nailed it. Not overcooked, very tender. We both had a pasta dish. I highly recommend ordering one and sharing it as their portions are very large. We had enough left over for days. The pasta is obviously freshly made in house. I had the sausage in mine, but for me it had a tad too much fennel. Nonetheless it was still very good. The wine list is perfect with selections at all price points and varietals. One of the owners came and talked with us for a bit while we were eating too. He was very genuinely grateful for our visit. I have always loved this place when they had the old management, so I think it was sold to the new management and this place is not as exciting as it use to be. My favorite thing to eat here was the lobster pasta, I would dream about going down here to eat some of that all the time, it was amazing fresh and really tasty. I got back here after how many months and took my boyfriend here after bragging about the pasta and we decided to come for dinner. The lobster pasta was horrible, the lobster was stale and the tomatoes was bad. It tasted really horrible and I had to ask the bartender to take it back and requested for the owner who was a formerly a cook in there just to speak with him. Guess what he never came, he spoke to everyone apart from me and being an African American I felt like he spoke to all the white men but never came to talk to me. He is disrespectful and RACIST in my opinion and also a sexist! This place use to be my favorite place and but I won't be coming back because the owner is such a horrible person. So let me begin by saying that I waited for my second visit before writing this review. First visit wasn't very impressive, greasy calamari and mushy Pasta. My impression is that this is a high end restaurant on the decline. I say high end because their pricing is above the norm. I have no problem with that as long as there is an attention to detail and you are using high quality ingredients. Both visits were not at busy times, in fact I doubt by my experiences, this place ever sees a packed house. First visit at the bar I witnessed the bartender and a waiter taking shots when the owner wasn't looking. Second visit I watched the pizzaioli wash his hands before making my pizza, only to wipe them dry on his dirty apron. I tend to be a pizza snob and this pie had mozzarella on it that tasted like rubber bands! Crust was tasty, I will give it that much. Out of 1 through 10, this place is a two on its way to being extinct. I was writing this as I was waiting for my check. I ordered a double Maker's on the rocks and was charged $24 for that one drink, seriously!!!!!!! The service and food here is amazing! They have the BEST drinks! I've ordered both a bottle of white wine and a Moscow Mule and they were so good!! The only downside is that the establishment is tight (small) and noisy. Though the size may be small, it still can't keep us from coming. I recommend you make reservations and go when you are feeling super patient to deal with a crowd or go in the middle of the week. We have always visited on weekends which are extremely busy. read more
