Went for lunch with a half off coupon. The restaurant is attractive and eclectic, yet only 3 or 4 tables occupied. Service was perfectly timed, pleasant and inobtrusive. My only comment on the service is that they removed my plate before my companion was finished eating--why does this happen so often, it's rude! Anyway the diver scallops and the market fish entrees were outstanding. Perfectly presented and sauces to die for. Desserts were updated twists on great originals and delicious as well. I must go back for dinner! read more

Imagine your grandmother's pot roast, cooked to perfection, then put between bread, pure Heaven! My sister and I went to Cibo e Beve last week and we were both thrilled with the food and service! I had the braised short rib sandwich and salad. The braised short ribs melted in my mouth and seasoned just right. The salad was properly dressed and portioned for lunch. My sister has the chicken parm sandwich and soup. -- both also delicious. We were served by Jim "Romeo" and he exceeded expectations in terms of service. We ended our meal with a cannoli. I can't (and won't) wait to go again. This place is a gem! read more

So I came here with my girlfriend and fellow Yelper, Kate M. She told me how great the food is and I saw the reviews were generally favorable on Yelp. Walked in, and we were greeted right away and sat in a small cozy booth. The restaurant was charming, small, and would make a great date spot. Our waiter came and offered us a drink. I decided on a martini. When it arrived, it came in such a tiny little martini glass. I was shocked that for $10, it wasn't a bigger glass. We were served some bread with olive oil and balsamic. Bread was pretty good, soft inside with a crusty outside. We were only given 3 pieces, and the waiter just took the empty bread basket away without asking if we wanted more. We started with the roasted brussel sprouts, which came with a fried egg. Sounded interesting, and it did complement the brussel sprouts. They were nicely crisp with good flavor to them. Next, I had to decide on entree. I picked the description with goat filled pasta with carmelized onions and kale. Sounded good, until the waiter told me the goat is so good. Confused, I asked,..you mean goat cheese, right? He said no, goat! Like goat meat! I said....oh no! Can't do that. So decided on a simple ravioli with marinara. I asked since I saw another pasta dish with spicy marinara, if I could have the sauce spicy. I was told immediately no. Very curt. Then I asked if I could have the carmelized onions and kale on top of my dish. "No." I could understand if the restaurant were slammed, but we were one of three tables there. So Kate had told me the cheese they serve is the small pieces like you'd see from a Kraft container, so I asked if we could have shaved cheese. He said, "I know what you mean. I do it that way at home, but no." So the ravioli actually was incredibly bland, and the sauce was just as unmemorable. On the last piece, the waiter actually brought out some crushed red pepper after I mentioned it would have been better if it had some spice. Dessert we split was a gelato type pie with a cookie crust and chocolate topped with black cherries on top. That actually was very good. I am seriously disappointed in service here, and maybe that colored my meal experience as well. But the company was great! read more

Delicious, Food was served promptly and everything we had was delicious. The bread was hot and crusty right from the oven. Fresh mozzarella was wonderful. Shrimp Portofino was great. I shall have to come back to try other menu items. read more

The place itself is very nicely done and the first impression you get is that you are in for a fabulous Italian trattoria experience...it didn't work out that way though. I had the calamari for an appetizer and this was delicious. Ordered a shrimp pasta and it was a disappointment - poor presentation and pasta was not al dente. My friend ordered a pizza and left half of it as he didn't like it. Glad we tried the place yet do not think we will be back as value and quality simply were not there. Menu is overpriced. Staff was nice and attentive. read more

The worst service ever!! We got there, Sat on the kitchen counter, nobody approach us to welcome us, the cooks were right in front of us, didn't care we were there to eat, the manager passed right by us, the restaurant only have 2 tables so no excuse they were busy. We left hungry and very dissapointed!! Wont Come back read more

Came here today to check it out thanks to Scoutmob. Ordered the margherita pizza, and it was great. Service was good, and hope so, there were only a couple of other folks in there. Pizza had a good crust, and I really liked the sauce. I'd definitely go back. read more

The chef here is great and everything was delicious. I went here with a big group of people and everything we ordered was delicious. They have this one appetizer with this special cheese. They don't always have it, but you should ask if they do becuase it was amazzing. This is a smaller place so I would call in ahead of time to make sure you have a table and don't have to wait. read more

Not a fan of the olive bread. It has an after taste, but the food overall is very tasty. The presentation is sensational and the price point is good. This is a cool place to visit, especially if you're in the area. read more

You've got to go to this place. Atmosphere is great and the food is better. Call for reservations, it gets crowded.

Came here last night with a large party and had the chicken piccata. Reservation was at 7pm and we were told by management we had to be out by 830 due to another large party reservation at 830. Terrible service. Food was just ok and overpriced. Would not return. read more

Wonderful spot for Italian fare. Good variety of offerings featuring classics like Chicken Parmesan and Spaghetti Bolognese as well as delicious specials. I had the Rigatoni a la Vodka with spicy sausage and couldn't have been more pleased. Good selection of wine. Dessert was delicious. Atmosphere also was particularly pleasant and surprising for the location. Definitely would return for another meal. read more

Big fan of Cibo and the whole Food 101 gang! They run a tight ship and know how to bring it all together for a great culinary experience! Was here with a couple of girlfriends and we made sure to test out a variety of things, from the mixologist who was super fun to talk with to the appetizers, like the meatball and the wonderful entrees and desserts, there was little that disappointed. If anything we may have gone a little crazier than we needed to for a school night. read more

The food is amazing! We started with a cheese board and that was delicious the one cheese was so creamy and it went great with the bread they served it with sweet apricot preserves. I highly recommend the lobster spaghetti. The lobster was cooked perfectly. Then we had the donuts for desert! Everything was perfect from the service, the atmosphere and the food. Top notch! read more

We drove 45 minutes to get to this restaurant. The lobster spaghetti and pasta carbonara was excellent. Our server Kamilah had a great personality. We'll be back. read more

Ordered food for pick-up. Fast service and my food was ready within minutes. Had the bean and escarole soup and the rigatoni. Food was absolutely delicious but the portions were so small. Spent almost $25 for one person and I was still hungry. read more

A great hidden eclectic Italian restaurant with impeccable service. The food is as authentic as the people that runs this place. One of their signature items are the meatballs. Not to be missed! Also heard that the bartender makes great hand crafted cocktails. We will be returning to check that out next time. read more

Top 3 least desired Italian restaurant in Atlanta. Service is great but food is mediocre at best. I've had better veal parm at Ippolito's and paid 3x times as much. read more

My husband and I made a reservation several days ahead for a Saturday night. We were a little concerned about how loud it might be after reading reviews. But, we had sampled their food at festival outside Atlanta and were really impressed. We were treated to a comfy booth and although the restaurant was loud and crowded...it didn't take away from the atmosphere at our table. Our waiter was fantastic...wish I remembered his name. The food and wine was outstanding. read more

My wife and I walked to the restaurant from our house and we have been many times. I had the lasagna which was great. My wife had the ricotta gnocchi with bolognese sauce. She was so impressed she texted her mom and told her it tasted like the sauce her Nona (from Italy) used to make. Fantastic evening! read more

Been to Cibo a few more times since my last update, and thought I'd add a quick update based on last night's visit. Still a very solid 4 stars, and one of my favorite places in the area. We did encounter a few flaws last night, though. The Good: -Our Server was great in general - friendly, helpful, etc. There was one flaw I'll note below. -Winter Caprese (mostly) - it's not a word I often use to describe food, but the Burrata was just a beautiful piece of cheese, and the tomatoes were exactly what I want in a Caprese. There was a negative I'll note below. -Insalata di Cavolo Rosso - Wow. I really wanted to order another. Not because it was small, but because it kicked some taste-bud booty (that's a good thing =). I could've eaten a giant bowl of it. -The Brooklyn Pizza - great, although probably not quite as good as past pizzas I've had at Cibo (a high standard to maintain). The crust wasn't quite as good as in the past. They do have one of the best sauces around. Overall, still a great pizza. -Buffalo steak special - what a great cut of steak - perfectly cooked, and served over an arugula pesto that complemented it brilliantly. The less than stellar: -We ordered our salads and mains at the same time, and it was a loooong gap from when we finished our salads to when we got our mains. We weren't in a hurry and were enjoying the conversation and I wasn't really looking at the time, so it wasn't a problem, but from the point I thought to myself "it's been a while" it was probably another 10 minutes before they came out. I'd wager it was close to 30 minutes from the time we finished our salads til when we got our meal. The only thing that rubbed me the wrong way is that there was no apology or any mention of the delay. -The fried eggplant on the Caprese. Not that it was bad, it's just completely unnecessary and detracts from the beauty of the burrata, which it overwhelms a bit. If I were the chef, I'd take it out. -The Lobster Gnocchi served with the Buffalo Steak special. About half of it was incredibly charred. My gf commented she was surprised they even served it, which I'd agree with. The other half was cooked fine, but the lobster-dough combo just didn't really work for me. -The booth we were in was a bit hard to get in and out of. I think they changed the seats (not positive) and they're comfy, but they sink in and have an arm at the end so you can't just slide out, and it's close to the table, so it's a bit of a maneuver to get out. Sounds like a lot of negatives, but overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal as we always have at Cibo. read more

I eat here all the time - the food is delicious and the wine list is extensive (yet overpriced). Last night we dined here with another couple. My husband and I split the ravioli with short rib ragu. I did not hear the waiter tell my husband that we would have to do the "splitting" ourselves because the chef does not like the way it is presented when it is split. Um, ok, aren't you a chef? Can't you throw some greens on the plate with the pasta to make it look presentable?! Anyway when the runner kid brought out the pasta and two plates, I asked him if the kitchen wouldn't mind splitting that for us. Our table was quite full and I didn't want to do it. My husband had stepped away from the table so he wasn't there when this occurred. The boy said of course and took it back to the kitchen. A few minutes later he came back with the un-split pasta & two plates and said the chef would not do this for us. Well that just made me mad and frustrated. The pasta was not hot at this point and it just put a damper on our meal. My husband explained that the waiter indeed told him that we would have to split. I understand that I was in the wrong because I did not know this. However, one would think the chef would've just split the stupid meal and not send it back again! Or maybe he should've handled it a different way? Or maybe the kid should've known the rules and explained it to me. The waiter came by and apologized over and over. Not his fault. Maybe a manager should've stopped by. Lots of ways the restaurant could've handled it differently. read more

I saw this place on Atlanta Eats....the food looked so good I had to try this place out. I was absolutely pleased with the my entire experience. The wait staff and atmosphere were great. I got the Brooklyn and cibo burger. My companion got the lobster spaghetti. The menu says the Brooklyn had caramelized onions, but they were not. No sweetness, seems like regular yellow onions. The Burger was very bland, needs salt. Fries were tasty. The spaghetti was very flavorful, a tad salty but nothing to complain about. Service was great. read more

I look for 3 things when dining: service, quality and ambiance. Ryan was a very attentive server and knows his game. All three, for the most part, were very good... but there was a big slip-up. Bread was great. The tuna carpaccio was delicious, but perhaps could've been a bit thinner. The bar was short on ingredients and could not mix two of their signature drinks. The salad (Washington?) was very good, as was the pasta chicken primavera. The ahi tuna was good but not stellar. The lobster spaghetti was good (I was told the noodles were overcooked) but was a poor value since it had very little lobster in it. The atmosphere was upscale and very nice. Hard flooring and a very open room lend to more noise than I would have preferred, but the booth seating was superb. Now for the faux pas... The $14 hamburger was ordered medium-rare but arrived dead rare. I confirmed by looking at the center and it looked completely raw, which I was told was cold. This in itself was not a big problem, but the way it was handled was very Applebee's of them. They quickly scooped up the entire plate instead of leaving it, which was a big mistake. Who the hell wants to sit around watching the rest of their party eat with nothing in front of them? If they'd left the plate, my sister could have eaten the outer/more cooked parts of the burger and nibbled on the fries while waiting for a new plate. Or, if they couldn't stand to leave the old plate then at least offer your guest a quick appetizer or drink while they're waiting. This is not rocket science, folks! To make matters worse, the manager? personally came out to clarify exactly what temperature the beef should be. I can tell you that his demeanor was very passive/aggressive and insulting. He didn't apologize for improperly cooking the meat. Instead, he strongly implied that his cooking was correct and her palate was not. This is, by far, one of the best ways to alienate your clientele! If you don't know what medium-rare is I suggest you go back to culinary school before going back to the kitchen. In this case, I think it was obvious that your guest wanted it cooked more than it was when served, so even a moron should be able to figure that one out, all temperature descriptions aside. In the end they sort of redeemed themselves. It was taking too long for the replacement burger plate to arrive so my sister told the server to cancel the order, especially since the rest of us were nearly finished with our entrees. The burger was delivered a few minutes later anyway, but it was comp'd and put in a doggy bag. I made mention to the hostess upon arrival that it was my mom's birthday, and they made note of the occasion. Ryan arrived with a surprise dessert for her called coconut flan. We all hate flan but this dish was in an entirely different class, I can tell you. I would return to give them a second shot. I am an old-world pizza afficianado, so I would love to sink my teeth into their margherita and a few others next time. I'd also like to try the BMPT? cocktail. read more

Our first visit to Cibo e Beve was for lunch, which they have just started offering a couple of weeks ago. My wife had the ricotta/spinach ravioli with short ribs ragu, while I had the spicy pasta with shrimp. Both of the dishes were absolutely delicious, and the portions very generous. The flavors were crisp, and miles away from the same-old, same-old which you find in so many restaurants. Can't wait to try Cibo for dinner soon. read more

We had a great meal at Cibo e Beve . The restaurant was pretty loud but the food and service made up for that. Shaun took great care of us through the evening. We started with a great bottle of wine, the Cherry Pie Pinot Noir off of the reserve menu. We tasted our way through the menu. * The Bean and Kale soup which was one of the best soups we have had in a long while. Shaun also brought us a taste of the cauliflower soup which was also fantastic. * The chopped salad, dressing was a little sweet for me but the wife really liked it. A good solid salad. * Figs were great. Fresh figs which are a rarity then filled with gorgonzola and wrapped in prosciutto warmed up in the pizza oven. * Beef Short rib which was a tasty, solid dish. * Tried 2 desserts: Cereal Milk Panacotta and the Butter Pecan Ice cream pie. Panacotta was a little sweet for us but the Butter pecan pie hit the spot. Overall a surprisingly good first experience at Cibo e Beve, Great food and great Service. We will be adding them to our regular restaurant rotation. read more

I'm not sure where to start....our waiter was either drunk or high. Our table and the two next to us all were in disbelief. We asked to taste two wines and he just brought a random bottle. He then forgot our orders and asked us repeatedly for our order. I asked for the manager and she acted like we were making it up. Got a new server but he quickly asked "what happened" like he just wanted us to dish. Not going back. Done with that experiment. read more

Cibo has quickly become my favorite place in town. The food is amazing... innovative, well prepared, and always delightful. Everything I have tried, from the small plates (don't miss the meatballs) to the pizzas (which you can watch being prepared at the bar and in their large pizza oven), to the entrees has been fabulous. I particularly recommend lunch... great selections, interesting specials, and you can usually get a seat at the bar to watch the bartenders at work. Speaking of the bar, it is a fantastic experience in and of itself. As you would expect of any Italian place, there is a nice selection of wine. However, the craft cocktails add an entirely new dimension. The list is extensive and impressive, and the bartenders are always there to help you select one that will best match your mood or your order. From management to wait staff to bartenders, everyone is attentive and well informed. Cibo is not only a great neighborhood spot, it is well worth the drive from anywhere in the Atlanta area. read more
