This is a lunch food review only. Starting with the small plate . . . pear, grgonzola and walnuts -- fairly common to see on the menu, but this is anything but common. There is no lettuce. Instead you geta two peeled pears baked with cheese and nuts in the middle. It's delicious but I would have preferred it as dessert rather than as a starter. According to the waiter the chef indeed makes his "special" special. The day I went it was a rissotto with shrimp. The sauce was light and delicious and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. My dining partner had the crusted tuna which is Sushimi grade and served rare. His review was very postive. Dessert was a shared tiramisu and it was light and tasty. Definitely up there on the tiramisu ratings which is saying a lot since I'm not all that crazy about that as a dessert choice. Ambiance -- we ate outdoors as it was a beautiful day. It is a sidewalk and faces the parking lot so not good for romantic adventures, but acceptable for visiting with friends. And, it was quiet since we were the only ones out there. I never made it inside the restaurant as I was late arriving and my companion was already seated. I will say that our server vanished as we began our meal and we had to call for a waiter. Our second server was very good except that they like to take your plate while your guest is still dining -- I hate that! And, I find that often even in upscale restaurants. Why don't they train their staff better? read more

Really good! Let's see.. We started with calamari and meatballs, then tomato caprese, and finally lasagne and filet. Everything tasted great. The seasoning levels were spot on, and all was exceptionally fresh. Service was polite, efficient, and personable. Ambiance was nice. Value wise it's a tad overpriced. Not a lot..but its there. That was really my only knock. We will be back. read more

I absolutely loved this place. The restaurant was quaint. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly. The food was excellent. I normally order eggplant parm when I visit a new Italian restaurant, but the description had me guessing a little bit. I ordered the lasagna, which was fabulous, but our server brought me a small sample of the eggplant parm to try anyway. I will definitely be back. read more

$20 all you can eat pasta on sundays and 1/2 off bottles of wine. The service sucks but since it's such a great deal I'll be back.

tonight was my first time here. ambiance is nice - dim lighting and romantic. service was excellent - great waiter. although management should tell hostess no cell phone. we walked in and she was on a personal call. I got the chicken Marsala pasta and it was awesome. best I ever had. good portion - hubby and I shared. pizza is average. my standards are pretty high though since I am from ny. I get better pizza in NYC than Italy! tiramisu is average as well. def not bad by any means but not the best I have had. I will def be going back! had a great night. read more

To the Chef: I came back a second time....your food is so good! So so good that I really don't care about much else. The best I've had in Atlanta so far. I appreciate your commitment to quality and cooking the old fashioned way! When you eat really good quality food it makes you never want to eat bad food again!! Ok- so I have been a restaurant manager at some high end places for 20 years and I may be a bit biased but here goes... Ambiance- adorable! Great date spot! But please for the love of God change those hideous light bulbs in your chandelier above your big top. Design is beautiful. Bartender- ehhhhh...she is sweet but wasn't super welcoming when I walked in at 9:30. I know you close at 10 but c'mon??? That's 30 minutes before you close!! I sat at the bar wanting to eat and run. Service manager- train your staff to accommodate all guests and keep desserts available. I was made to feel like it was a problem to have dessert...so I didn't. Bummer. Food- had the bolognese. Delish. I'm so excited to live so close to this chef driven restaurant! Stick to your guns- keep making great food! To the general public this place is small- you can't camp out at your table all night. Enjoy your meal and GTFO, there are other patrons wanting to dine here so don't be surprised if the floor manager asks you to wrap it up. Bottom line- I'm coming back. Tighten it up team. Such potential to be an exceptional restaurant. Wow me next time. I came back a read more

Please consider this an extraordinarily generous two stars. What happened Cibo? Service last night, not good. Food, acceptable, but not nearly as on point as it used to be. This place needs a swift kick in the ass from Gordon Ramsey. It used to be a classy neighborhood Italian osteria. Last night it felt like a place that has seriously lost its identity. Our server blatantly wanted to be finished her shift. (We arrived at 9:30pm on a Sat night and the place closes at 11pm.) Apologies for intruding on your club time. The $30 Lobster spaghetti had cold marinara sauce. The Brussels were swimming in Olive oil. Pizza, flavorless. Server immediately brought out check. Not even a chance at a cannoli. Sorry Cibo, just giving you an honest reminder that service still matters. Tighten it up over there. read more

INCREDIBLE service, wonderful atmosphere and memorable food - what more could you want!? This a a gem! Our server (wish I could remember his name!) made our experience great. My wife and I have eaten here twice now. Both experiences were quite good. Atmosphere: definitely an adults' place to eat. Quiet, intimate, cozy. Service: attentive, but somewhat slow. Not fussy, certainly. Servers have been very well-informed, with good suggestions. Did have to wait a bit for refills on drinks (a sore spot for me) and for the check. Food: this is where Cibo shines. Everything we have eaten has been excellent. We especially enjoyed the meatball appetizer, but everything has been great. This is a welcome addition to south Sandy Springs. Highly recommended as a date spot. Would get 5 stars if the service were sped up just a touch. read more

I have been there 3 times now and I have to give them 5 starts because I had a great time every time and the food was good and the service was as well. First time going there I had some squid ink pasta which was great and they made plates so my friend and I could share. My husband and I went this week and he had the chicken and I had the lobster spaghetti. Service was great, food was tasty and no complaints from my side at all. read more

We are already planning our next meal here! Fantastic food and even better service. Sean, our waiter, is on point with both food and drink recommendations (as well as being hilarious and friendly)! We sat at the antipasto bar- if you want to get a glimpse at "behind the scenes" and talk to some great members of the chef's staff, we recommend this for seating! It's fun but surprisingly does not impede on the intimacy of the restaurant. William -pizza maker extraordinaire- shared his humor and most importantly- some tips on making our own pizza! Do yourself a favor and try out the lobster spaghetti or the steak au poivre! read more

Two hosts on their cell phones on 3/30/2018 @ 5:55pm inattentive to customers and clueless. They were so distracted by their phone. I asked them about happy hour and today's specials and they just looked at each other with uncertainty (no clue about the place, deer in headlights) My friends and l was so disappointed. I ordered a pizza, a soda, and tiramisu for delivery on a Tuesday at 6:30 pm. When the food got there almost 2 hours later the pizza was stone cold. It was ok cold but would have been great warm. The tiramisu was quite good. All in all, 3 stars. read more

Well, I stopped in here a few weeks wanting something different. Being they are a sister place with one of my regular places. I had to try it out. It's was nice a laid back the night I went in. Set at the bar and the bartender was pretty good. Made excellent drunk. For dinner, I had some of their kale soup. I will have to say the food is good. A little over priced on some things. But good. read more

It is a bit on the pricier side for a family dinner night. I especially wish they had a few more affordable by the glass wines. The food was really good, we tried the meat charcuterie, lasagne, pasta with vodka sauce, chicken parm, pizza and traditional spaghetti with red sauce. The sauces taste very fresh with deep flavor, the pasta was perfect just past al dente. The best part of our dinner was the service, it was friendly, quick, knowledgable and our drinks were never low. We'll definitely be back. read more

The owner warmly greeted us, our server was so attentive, our meal was delicious and the tiramisu was yummy! This place is absolutely fantastic!!! After having one of the worst experiences at Iron Age restraunt early we ended up leaving and going to Cibo e Beve. It was the best decision we made. The service was out of this world from the moment we walked through the door to us leaving. The Filet Migon with mashed potatoes and broccoli was so delicious. This place is so amazing that it makes you not want to try anywhere else. They made you feel so welcome and the atmosphere is wonderful! Will be going back all the time!! read more

If you really love olive oil and unorganized service this is the place for you. The waitress took our order but didn't come back to our table until the end of our stay. We had some bread and a bowl of olive oil dropped off at our table without a word from the person who brought it. I am assuming it was supposed to be an olive oil dipping sauce but they did not put any spices in the olive oil so it was just a giant bowl of oil. Gross. I ordered the Prosciutto &a Arugula pizza that was swimming in olive oil. I could press a spoon on top of this pizza and get a spoonful of oil. It was disgusting and I am kicking myself for not taking a photo. I asked a waiter that was walking by (our original server was MIA) to remake without olive oil and it came back with about 20% less oil than the first time. Still inedible. Of the 5 different people the dropped stuff off at our table without saying a word no one came by to check if my second pizza was ok. Roughly 20 minutes later the original waitress came back and asked if we were ok. I asked her to take the pizza off the bill. She apologized and said she thought it looked gross when it came out of the kitchen. Why they decided to bring it to me anyway is a mystery. My partner ordered a Caesar salad (seems simple enough) and it was about 7 romain leaves stacked on top of each other with two anchovies on the very top. It had a weird poached egg off to the side. It was like they were trying to be fancy and authentic but it came off as bizarre. The manager did come by and ask if he could make me something else because he didn't want us to leave hungry. Sorry dude, we already gave you a second chance. To many really great restaurants in Atlanta to ever come back to this place. read more

The service was excellent. They were very attentive. I left my phone and they chased me down at the end of the night to give it to me.

We came here for Valentine's Day a couple weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. I ordered the filet and it was delicious. Despite it being in a strip mall area, when you walk in it has great vibes. We took a random chance on this place since there are so many Italian places around and it paid off. Would definitely recommend for moderately expensive Italian food. read more

I've been here a few times and it's been delicious every time. The caprese salad is hands down one of the best I've ever eaten. The fried calamari is just like what I ate in Greece & Italy. For dessert, the tiramisu isn't overly espresso flavored which I really enjoyed. You should definitely check it out. Our server, Todd, was on point too. read more

We loved this place a few years ago when we lived in Sandy Springs and came to Cibo e Beve this evening for dinner after a couples massage. The food was good but service was slow, not on point, and our waiter was completely disengaged. I don't expect to be treated like I'm at a four-star but the waiter should at least act like he cares that we're happy. He would rush and run constantly while attending all if his time at the table next to us. We got the appetizer with the spicy capicola, prosciutto, and cheese with some candied walnuts (which I think are just the bourbon-candied pecans from the Whole Foods nearby), but there were only three small thin pieces of crostini (about 1"x3") to go with the meats (several thin slices of capicola and several of prosciutto), and they didn't bring our bread until after we asked after our appetizer finally arrived (an appetizer that requires no effort but grabbing stuff and putting it on a wood block). The bread had three small slices and I joked with my spouse that of all if the things to skimp on bread and crostini are poor choices because they're the cheapest thing there! The place has lost its charm for us, even though the food is good. It's not worth $33 for a filet. We didn't bother to get dessert because we were tired of being disappointed by our waiter. We wanted to know what kind of pinot (what year, etc.) because he took the menus before taking our order by stopping, taking our menus as if taking our order (although that's weird because sometimes people need to see the menu to point their choice out), and then rushing to the table next to us and completely ignoring us. It felt like he was taking our menus away for taking too long to choose. When I said I'd love to know more information about the wine, (and he dropped our ticket off so quickly without giving us a chance to stop him - the way he was the entire time), he commented that he's just a guy who moves fast. He didn't say anything like "What can I help you with" but was just really cold. I am not extremely picky, and I dislike prima donna reviews that aren't objective, but I expect service to support this price point, and I get better service at Waffle House on a sleepy Sunday morning when I don't want to go anywhere. Another weird thing happened when he was talking once again forever to the people behind us. They asked what "Cibo e Beve" means and he answered "food and dance" which made me chuckle, because anyone remotely familiar with Italian knows that "Beve" shares the same root as the word "beverage." We acted like decent people and still gave a decent tip (20%) but he could have gotten much better. Two entrees, a skimpy appetizer plate, and one glass of wine later we were over $90 before including the tip. We paid for a pleasant experience, and got a waiter that belongs at Golden Corral. He was tall, dark, with short cropped hair and glasses. Oh, and he told the table behind us that he's been there for five years, but when I asked for a favorite I got just a couple of years ago he says he didn't remember them every second it although at the time it was extremely popular for several months. I'm very disappointed that a place we used to love has slipped and is now pretentious. There are very limited parking spaces in front, so it's better to park in back if you feel safe behind the building. There's still not enough parking during a busy time, and the spaces in front of the restaurant are very narrow as if made only for compact cars and not SUVs. read more

I don't really know where to begin with this review but let's just say that I had an OK food experience here! The only reason I'm giving it the 4 stars that I am is because the customer service was excellent! The food honestly was nothing spectacular or nothing to run home to tell about. I booked my reservation through opentable so I could get the 1,000 dining points they were offering. I chose this restaurant because about a month ago I went to their Food 101 which is a few doors down. For the cocktails I originally ordered the "mule" but I didn't know that it was like a slushie! I hate frozen drinks prefer my alcohol on ice so I sent it back and got just a regular Long Island. We ordered the calamari for an appetizer and I wasn't impressed by far I've had much better.. Seems like they just threw it together real quick and was super chewy, first time I've ever had it prepared oddly like that. I ordered the cibo burger and my friend ordered the chicken Marsala, my burger was HUGE and he enjoyed his chicken Marsala.. In no hurry to return but I may who knows.. read more

After reading so many good reviews, I wanted to try this place for a long time and finally had a chace. Review? I am never going back again. Food was just ok, nothing special. The big turn off is service. When we were placing the order, the server didn't catch the order at first, then he replied "What??" Yes. He said "what." I should have left the place at that time. We placed order, food came out, and the server never came back to check. It was Sunday evening and there is only 3 tables including us. Very dissapointed. read more

I think I just found my new favorite spot! After driving by Cibo e Beve multiple times wondering what it was like, I was so grateful to finally get a chance to dine here with a big group of girls for Galentine's Day! Organized by the lovely Mish K., I felt like I was a hip diner-in-the-know about this gem of a spot! Chef Linda has developed a menu to satisfy all palates, people, and preferences! Everything looked so good, I didn't know where to start! Luckily a few return guests guided us in the right direction. Sitting at the chef's table, we were able to see all the plating action, dish preparation, and finishing touches. What was really neat was that they even had a bar at the window so you could sit and eat while checking out everyone else's noms! The overall ambiance is relaxed and romantic without feeling squished in (even though it is a smaller space). The bar area has tons of bottle and specialty cocktails to choose from and has a wrap around seating area that has full menu service. Our waiter Ryan was fantastic!! He walked us through all the specials, classic dishes, and recommended cocktails for us. I got their take on a Moscow Mule and it was delicious! They even make their own ginger beer in house and man could you tell it was fresh! Ryan made sure all of us felt at home and was happy to encourage us to relax and take our time, he would always be around when needed. For such a large group, it was awesome feeling like you had the attention often given to smaller parties. For appetizers we started with the meatballs, crispy brussels, and housemade burrata cheese. Everything was so good! I have to say the crispy brussels were my favorite. They had a great texture with smoky flavor from a little char and bacon mixed in. The fried egg on top helped add some creamy notes and brightened the dish to make it perfectly savory and satisfying. Next were the meatballs. They come three to an order and are covered in a fresh, lightly seasoned red sauce. The sauce was so good, I was eating it with a spoon once the meatballs were gone! Finally, the famous burrata cheese. Chef Linda makes it a little differently each time - on our visit it had a roasted red pepper coulis drizzled on top with juicy veggies on the bottom (catching all that yummy cheese once we popped them open!). Some of the diners preferred the balsamic reduction over the last one which sounds right up my alley. For dinner, I chose to try the pasta carbonara. Fresh tagliatelle pasta was coated with parmesan, cream, and had peas with Nueske's bacon mixed it. It was plated beautifully with a cracked raw egg on top that I could mix in. Ryan brought out extra parmesan and red pepper flakes to top it with and I couldn't wait to dig in! The pasta was creamy without being overly rich and was a perfect portion for dinner. Definitely a member of the clean plate club on this one! The only thing I probably would have changed would be to have fresh parmesan grated over it rather than the powder style spooned but that's because I'm a cheese addict who could grate the entire block if they would let me. Finally, the pièce de résistance! Chef Linda brought out a platter (yes, a PLATTER) of her famous gelato pie and chocolate semifreddo for us to dig into. It was the perfect temperature to be firm when you cut a piece off but melt in your mouth the instant you ate it. Chocolate oreo crust, coffee and vanilla ice cream, indulgent fudge, and yummy sour cherries took this dessert over the top. Thank goodness I don't live closer, otherwise I'd be eating it everyday. Ryan, Chef Linda, and the whole Cibo e Beve crew were fantastic. From the bar manager checking in on how our drinks were doing to the delicious food that we were all able to sample and share, I had a wonderful girls dinner with the group! I can't wait to return and try more of their fun creations and classic plates. I can hear their best selling dish (the lobster spaghetti) calling my name! read more

Back here for lunch with a grilfriend and again, impeccable service and food. She had the vegetarian pizza and I had a tomato soup and the beef meatballs. Needless to say, we both needed boxes as the portions were pretty large. Of course, we asked for dessert and the tiramisu did not disappoint. Will be back. read more

My Fiancée' and I met Linda (Head Chef) and Justin (Beverage Director) on a cruise to Alaska. They were the celebrity hosts for food and wine and did a tremendous job of entertaining and teaching classes while on the cruise. Fast forward 6 months, and Jessica, the aforementioned Fiancée', and I find ourselves in Atlanta, GA for one night. We had the most amazing food and drinks possible at Cibo e Beve. Period. Justin made me a Chatham County Line to start the night off (a drink that billows smoke out as you consume it) and we started off with Goat Cheese Panna Cotta as well as the Tuna "Proscuitto". Both appetizers were amazing - the foam on top of the tuna is much like a halo on an angel - absolute harmony. Because we know Linda we were treated to a tasting menu on the salad course and were able to have the warm cabbage, a beautiful Caesar and the caprese. All three were splendid and we had to make the server take them away before we gorged ourselves. A couple more handpicked and beautifully crafted cocktails later (we let Justin take control). Linda sent out a plate of Lobster Spaghetti and an entree of Veal Marsala to us. My taste buds were officially out of control. All bias aside, which of course is difficult, Jessica and I knew that we were in heaven. Thank you Linda and Justin - you provided us with amazing food, food that we will never forget. read more

I ordered the family chicken piccata for dinner tonight, and was delighted with the wonderful meal! The chicken was very tender, and the sauce was especially tasty. It had artichokes in the sauce, which I had never had before. It came with a large caesar salad that was also good. To top it off, the price was very reasonable--$60 for four. We had 3 chicken filets left over after serving 4. I cooked pasta to go with it. Our family members agreed we needed to order from Cibo e Bebe again. One more thing, when I drove up, a nice man came to the car and asked my name then brought out the meal. The service, like the food, was very good. read more

What am amazing random find. Easily the best Italian place that I've eaten at in Atlanta. The Tartufo (truffle) pizza is amazing as is the roasted cauliflower. They have a small bit distinctive wine list with everything available by the glass, even $300 bottles, thanks to the use if a Corvina tap. Our server was very knowledgeable & was trained as a sommelier in France. We came on a Sunday night & they were out of many things. I like that. I tells me they do things fresh. Finally, the Gelato pie with chocolate grenache was like having sex with a unicorn, magical & one of a kind. We will definitely be repeat customers! read more

Stopped in here to grab a drink last week and although I will absolutely be back to try the food (I've heard nothing but great things and the pizza looked very good), the bar was not exactly inviting. It took a few minutes to be greeted by anyone once we took a seat, but once we did, a friendly bartender was there to help. The beers we got did not taste anything like what we ordered, which we told the bartender, but they didn't seem bothered by it. Also, during the entire length of our stay (not long because of this), two bartenders were behind the bar CLEANING. Shouldn't this be done hours before opening for the evening? They were cleaning out the fridges, describing the messes in said fridges, and constantly taking out numerous jars of who knows what. It didn't present the most appetizing atmosphere, to say the least. I hope our next experience with the food is better than our last. read more

Been here a couple of times now - it has been a while since my last visit. Went last night before heading over to Chastain for a concert. Apparently they have just revised their menu and made the dishes smaller (the waiter's words - not mine). There was a good crowd - looked like most, if not all, were headed to Chastain - so an early Sunday night dinner looked like a Saturday night crowd. Service was very slow - they seemed surprised that there was such a crowd (um, if you have reservations & know you are super-close to Chastain - how are you surprised about a crowd?). I just wasn't all that impressed. Huge peeve - ordering an appetizer for the table & not being told it isn't a big enough portion to serve at least 1 piece to the table. Ordered the $9 fig/gorgonzola/prosciutto appetizer - 3 figs for 4 of us. Barely a drop of cheese. Another huge peeve - no salt & pepper on the table. Come on - don't presume you know how I like my food seasoned! Had the baby kale & strawberry salad - was very tasty & a nice portion size for a non-entree salad. Two of us ordered the $16 scallops with cauliflower puree & brussel sprouts. It was literally two tiny scallops that had been sliced horizontally in 1/2 to make "4" scallops. I'm sorry - but that is just ridiculously tacky. Hardly any flavor in this dish at all. Gluten free lasagna was reported to be very tasty. The white bean soup was very flavorful. Tomatoes in the Burrata salad were pretty pale red considering we are close to the height of summer/tomato season. Overall - this place was just super-average. Stick with pasta from Storico & maybe one of the cool cocktails and you should be ok.....don't think I'll be back here. read more
