Visited this place while on vacation. Absolutley wonderful!! We went during lunch time and found the place not overly busy. We had no wait for a table of 4 and the waiter we had was awesome. He was friendly and made very good recommendations. Next time I'm in Tyler I will definitely have to visit. Beware, if you do not like spicy Mexican food, this might not be the place for you. The fresh made salsa for the chops and salsa is probably the best I have ever tasted, but it does have a quick. Some of their house sauces can be pretty hot too. read more

I've stopped by Chuy's to get some nachos for lunch a few times now and have always found it to be a pleasant experience. I found the staff friendly and responsive. I used to live in Austin and frequented the original Chuy's often. So when I say that my recent visit here was every bit as good as the real deal, it's high praise. Fantastic Tex-mex from start to finish. Also, give a mexican martini a try the next time you're here for an authentic piece of Austin in Tyler. It's a twist on a margarita can be found all over Austin, and I'll think you agree that they can't be beat. I told them I have a medical condition which is the number 2 exemption per the mask mandate and I was ask to just hold a mask over my face until seated... What part of medical condition do they not understand... Not to mention how ridiculous it is to wear it from the door to your seat... And after that people are walking around without it... Leaving without it... Going to the restroom without it... Oh well... I wasn't going to make a scene just have my food spit in... I had Jack in the box which will make just as good a turd... Lol... The government does not know everything... People should do research before going along with this mandate that by the way is not a law. read more

This wasn't the first Mexican place we tried in Tyler, but it immediately became our favorite. Food is great - go for the jalapeno dip with the chips - and the service is the perfect combination of friendly and attentive, without being overbearing. Great patio area, too. read more

This Chuy's is always so good. However, we just went with all the restrictions and they did such a wonderful job packed with masks and gloves. Robert was very attentive to all we needed. They offer social distancing. The only complaint I have is the other customers gathered by the door. You can not social distance with the people standing around the entry way. I think this is a customer issue of people not being courteous because the restaurant had no indoor seating in the waiting area. The food was great as was the customer service! read more

We are visiting Tyler Tx and stopped into Chuy's. We started at the bar while waiting for a table. The bar service was fast and the margaritas awesome. Once seated our waiter John Paul discovered we were out of towners .... could it have been my Boston accent? John Paul aka JP took charge to make sure we knew what the menu had to offer and told us his personal favorites. I had a beef burrito and my husband had a steak enchiladas. Both were excellent. The wife and I had lunch at this Chuy's location last Saturday. I had not eaten at Chuy's in almost 5 years and the last time it was the Round Rock, TX location. That visit was great and the food very good. This most recent visit did not disappoint. The wife had the pork tacos with rice and beans (very good) and I had the "Macho" burrito and it was sooo good. I am visiting from Memphis tn. I am originally from San Diego California so trust me when I say I knowwww Mexican good. First the service was absolutely awesom. Snow on ground and we drive to do a pick up order called asking for a menu and I guess it's to much of an inconvenience or bother for him/ her to bring one out, then hung up on me totally rude and unprofessional! Food is okay, some of them aren't great. The only okay food was the steak burrito.. there was no really bunch of option to choose, they're expensive and the service is not good. Telling us it's happy hour for the alcohol but then later on when bill came she telling us it's not happy hour bcuz I the happy hour is only Monday to Friday.. I've never eaten at Chuy's before. I have to say, what a great first impression! I'm in town for a disc golf tourney, so just ate at the bar. David was working it, what a great employee! Very attentive and easy to talk to, a pleasure to deal with. David recommended the special, which was chicken enchiladas with a spicy avocado cream sauce. Wow! Great service and fantastic food! First stopped by on a Sunday afternoon with a party of 12 (including 4 kids) and the wait was just a little too long for the kids. We came back on Tuesday evening and had to wait about 30 minutes, which wasn't bad for our group size. Lots of yummy food and Sierra took really good care of us. They even brought us some complimentary queso since it was our first visit. We're from out of state, but we'll definitely be back if we're in the area again! Ummm this time was like a whole new place. It was AWFUL! First of all, there is barely seating for waiting on a table. We were packed in there like sardines and 75% were standing... for longggg periods of time. Secondly, It is so flipping loud in there my husband could not hear me from across the table. Heck, I couldn't even hear myself talk. My daughter also complained of the noise. And the extremely large and loud drunk party in the middle of the room with foul mouths didn't help the situation. Next, I got the exact same thing i ordered a couple weeks ago that i loved - veggie enchiladas. It was terrible this time. I couldn't even eat the rice and i only ate 1/2 of one enchilada. One bite was cold... clearly wasn't heated all the way through. I gave it to my husband and he ate some of it but didn't like it either. His meatless nachos were good and the salsa was good. Everyone in Tyler knows about how awesome this place is because it is always busy! Its always hopping because you can't get better quality comfort food/texmex anywhere else! And dang are their mojitos freaking delicious. PLUS they have several inns and stuff popping up on the new Wizards Unite Harry Potter mobile game! Best salsa ever I can eat their green salsa on everything in site almost can drink it is that good. Not sure if it's sour cream based or what but whatever is in it keeps me coming back here. I love their fajitas and quesadillas but the drinks are delicious too the bar is almost always packed especially doing happy hour. We enjoyed going on a double date with some friends to this restaurant. The atmosphere is fun and inviting with different decor in each room. The food was amazing- the jalapeño ranch sauce goes on everything...just saying!!! The tres leches cake for dessert was big enough to feed all 4 of us with plenty left over. The only thing we didn't care for was the salsa. We don't like ours they way Chuys makes theirs but it's ok. Other people seem to like it and we're ok with that.
