I'd do a 2.5 if I could. Let me start by saying, the chips and salsa were very-very mid. Service was fine, but our meal is where it gets messy. We split a combo fajita for 2 with chicken and beef. Chicken was eh and beef was very good. Ordered a side of mexican rice and was all so dry it was like a plate full of finger nails. But here's the whammy-I got a chicken fajita with a bone in it. Almost broke a tooth. Could have should have choked. I got real lucky I caught it early. When I told server he was just kinda bleh about it. Kind of strange. We won't be back-only rating a 3 because of the beef fajita. Other than that, it every world it's a 1-2 on my scale. Also, head chef is a douche. Apparently my server told chef (I ordered cilantro lime rice to go bc our rice was so bad) and the chef put it in the oven even after the server said not to. On 6-9-2021, we drove from Sulphur Springs to Tyler/Lindale for surgery on 6-10. My husband was having joint reconstruction surgery in Tyler the next day. We checked into our hotel, down the block, then went to look for food. It was late, so not much was open. We came here- it was super clean. Food smelled excellent. Full bar- friendly staff. This was the FIRST time we had eaten here, it was "luck of the draw" choice. We had the Primo Burrito with green sauces, beans, rice with sweet tea. It was amazing! The staff was simply amazing. They were quite friendly, supportive of the surgery next day and very happy to tell us about the excellent quality of care he would get at the Joint surgery center (they were correct! So I went yesterday for a late dinner and I was just surprised by the way I was treated tonight. The waitress gave me an attitude and when she took my order wasn't making eye contact or even smiling. And when the food came out it was cold. Like it wasn't even an hour and my food was cold and when I said something about it I was told nothing cold because done and they wouldn't remake it bc of it already being eaten. Pasado's is a hit and a miss. We go there often and it seems to be getting better. We have had very good service the last few time we have been, but they have lowered the portion sizes and jacks the prices high. We can afford the prices. We just don't want to. They are going to price themselves out of business if this trend continues. I must say they have improved their hiring of servers. There was a time that we were not going back. I'm from Utah and I am here visiting so I decided to try a place I hadn't yet been in previous years. Posados was a great choice! Our server was very friendly, and got our food out quickly. I ordered a cheese enchilada with cilantro lime rice, and tortilla soup. The food was hot, fresh, and VERY filling! I was reluctatnt thinking I wouldn't be full by the time our meal ended, but I couldn't finish it all! The cheese sauce was delicious and I couldn't get enough of it! There is even complimentary ice cream (chocolate, vanilla, or swirl!) for whenever you leave and its the perfect end-all to your meal. I can't wait to give this place another try soon! read more

Mercados, established in August of 1987, began as the flagship of our restaurants, and still provides a unique atmosphere and dining experience. Because Pasados in 1998. Family orientated restaurant that serves Tex-Mex cuisine. If you're not in the mood to dine with other people's kiddos, hit the bar. They have bar seating and large booths. I was a little hesitant as Tex-Mex tends to be cheesy and greasy but I was in for surprise. Guacamole was some of the freshest I've ever tasted. The chips and salsa or bottomless and came frequently. I got the chimichangas which I probably shouldn't have done with all my food issues as of late but they were fried yet not greasy and not smothered in cheese they were covered in the perfect form of Christmas red and green chili. As for the flour tortillas I am not sure they were cooked long enough. For my entree the refried beans had no flavor, like straight out of a can. The cilantro rice was nothing special. i think Uncle Ben's is better. The chicken enchilada was very good My wife liked her cheese enchilada but she had the same response on the rice. As for her tortilla soup it was more carrot than anything. I think the chef forgot to cut up the carrots. in her soups was a few carrots that were all about 1/2 x 1/2 x 3". After I tasted one, I just had to have an entire that came with tortillas on it. The beef fajita meet was cooked perfectly, tender and med-rare+. They probably have the most savory, flavorful chara beans I have ever had. Love the cilantro lime rice, which is a nice detour from the standard Mexican rice (also available). Service was top notch. They are super friendly. We never had to ask for anything. Refills just kept coming. And then they offered to-go drinks when we got our check.
