The chips were fresh and crispy, and the creamy jalapeño sauce is honestly addictive. I don't know what they put in it but I could eat it with everything. Service was great, everyone was friendly and attentive without being over the top. It was just an easy, enjoyable experience from start to finish. Definitely one of my go to spots. read more

Happy Hour is from 4:00-6:00 with great Margaritas and Queso. For dinner I had the Enchilada soup. It was pretty good even though it was under seasoned. I would leave the huge chunk of rubbery cheese off next time. Hubby enjoyed the Tacos Al Carbon. The decor was very nice. I especially like the ceiling covered in old hub caps. Absolutely delicious Tex-Mex is what is on offer here. I had 3 kinds of enchiladas, a taco, queso, beans and rice. Plus lots of sauces and salsas. I no longer live in Texas and this kind of food is rare in Minnesota where I live. So I was in hog heaven. The wait staff took great care of us and I almost had to be rolled out of there because I ate so much. Unfortunately, we went on Black Friday so it was super busy and we did have to wait about 40 minutes for a table. We just went shopping at the stores nearby while we waited for them to text us. It's mildly noisy inside and we were at a regular table, which amplified this problem, but basically nothing could reduce this 5 star rating because the food was so yummy. read more

We went after church today for lunch and upon arrival we were checked into a 30 minute wait. My husband and I both noticed many dirty tables and 4 hosts just standing behind the host stand talking. I asked why the tables weren't being bussed and one told me it's because they only had 2 bus boys. I then told her when I worked as a host we would bus tables if we were on a wait. She then rudely told me she was not a bus boy and that was not her job. At that point my husband and I left. I then tried to call this location back to speak with the manager and this individual hung up on me twice recognizing my voice. Went to Chuy's to pick up food for door dash ! The host was very nice and told me to go to end of bar and the bartender would help me . I was there between 3:25-3:30 pm today , the bartenders did not care about an order that needed to be picked up . They looked and laughed and kept talking to their friends that was sitting at the bar . When I started to walk away to go to the host at front , the one finally asked very rude are you picking up an order and I said yes ! I have been standing down there and neither of you have helped me . The one with long hair laughed and rolled her eyes and the other couldn't help because she didn't know anything. I would appreciate the next time, I come to pick an order up for door dash . That the ladies at the bar are respectful and not rude and pay attention to customers instead of talking with their friends . Next time I might just record to prove how your bartenders act , they are very rude and should not be working in your restaurant.. I did reach out to main cooperation of Chuy's about your location . The food is generally good with generous portions...but the NOISE level is enough to drive you insane. Whoever designed the placement of barriers and sound walls toward any kind of acceptable decibels toward acoustics was either a sadist or an idiot. I've been going to Chuy's in Austin since they opened in 1993. I have usually had a decent meal. Last night, it took a very long time to get our meals, although they didn't appear overly busy. I would guess it was 45 minutes, since we ate 3 baskets of chips with our guacamole. I got Big As Yo Face bean burritos, and they were the smallest burritos I've ever seen there in 30 years. The beans were so salty that I didn't finish mine, although the chips did kill my appetite. I will most likely return in the next week or so, because usually, as I say, the food is adequately good. I've been coming to Chueys for years and it never disappoints. I've tried a variety of items on the menu but my favorite are their beef enchiladas with chili on top and tacos. They're always so tasty and full of flavor. Their chips and salsa always have a nice kick to it as well. Everytime I go, I always get their creamy Jalepeno dip. It's so good! We love Chuy's, so this starts a little bias. We eat there normally back in The Woodlands area, but were pleasantly surprised to find one while visiting Tyler over the weekend. Upon arriving we had about a two minute wait for our table (for 2). Our waitress was helping other tables but a manager came and took our drink orders and food orders. We only got one refill each of our drinks so that was slightly disappointing, but the food was hot and tasty. My wife and I always get the same meal, but lately the Chuys in the Houston area has changed her Deluxe Chicken Enchiladas recipe and she's had to change what she orders. Today they were just like she remembered. The ambiance is always fun and the food is always fresh. The salsa was delicious and was the star of the show. He ordered the TexMex enchiladas and he said they were ok and were not Tex mex but tasted like mole instead. He hates mole! Delicious all around ! Been here a few times and one of my fave things about this place is the many different salsas/sauces they have for you to try. The hotter the better. I had the beef fajitas. This is definitely my go to dish. And of course it is served on a sizzling platter and the smell just gets your taste buds all tickled. Our server was awesome. Took our realtor to lunch an accidently picked the best place in town during lunch rush after a local baseball game...whoops! You'd think service would have been horrendous but nope. Outstanding service. Now I will say we elected to dine outside so dress for the weather because it was cold. Anyways we split in 2 group. My wife with the realtor having a working lunch and me baby sitting our 3 boys. So separate checks and separate servers all great service. Great service with just okay food. The menu offers several options many of which being vegetarian which is great. I opted for the veggie enchiladas and was excited based on the description. I was very disappointed when I began to eat however. The enchiladas were just okay, the veggies were very soggy I would have preferred if they had more of a bite to them, the deluxe tomatillo sauce was delicious but I definitely needed more of it. Our visit was on a Saturday afternoon at 2:00,and the place was packed with a wait list of about 15 minutes. Our waiter was friendly, but in no particular hurry. Once we ordered, we had about a 20 minute wait for our food. This was not a problem since we were there with friends and enjoyed our visit. My complaint comes in the getting the food. One of my friends' order was completely wrong and had to be done over-another 15 minute delay- and my food was cold. I don't like cold beans and rice. My rule of thumb is if the plate is cool enough that the waiter doesn't have to use a hot pad to handle it, the "hot" dishes are not hot enough. It's been a year since we have eaten here, and it may even be longer before we come back. I want HOT with fire Mexican food. read more
