Absolutely the WORST Mexican food experience I have ever had. Our waitress stunk like smoke and was not friendly at all- not helpful and couldn't care less about us. Not only was our waitress rude-practically threw down our food plates- forgot items and never brought them like salad dressing for the taco salad-completely forgot about us and our drinks but the food was super disappointing! The blue drink tasted like window cleaner and was disgusting! When I tried to explain she rolled her eyes- like why would I lie! Especially if I am paying that price for it, it should be decent! We asked for mango- we got regular and she never checked on us so we couldn't tell her it was wrong. The "nachos" were meat throw on a fried tortilla and cheese over it! Come on presentation matters! Overall I WOULD never recommend this place and would avoid it! And just to clarify it was NOT busy and the place was under half full! Since Manny's usually seems busy, I had high expectations, and some were met. The server was friendly and accurate, although somewhat rushed by a busy room. The fajitas were exceptional in tenderness and flavor. Had there been grilled peppers along with the grilled onions, that would have been appreciated. The reduced-sized serving of Tony's Tacos was okay, and the filling of grilled steak was tender but lacked flavor. The guacamole was fresh, but the texture was too smooth for my taste. I just prefer chunkier guacamole, but then, that's just me. The tostadas were fine, but the salsa deserves a lecture. It is such a mystery as to why a restaurant that has a lot going for it offer such a vapid salsa? This seemed little more than a can of tomato sauce with hot sauce added to it. If there is anything that is worth getting right, it's the salsa. it is so simple to make with fresh ingredients, and it is the first thing to let a customer know this is going to be a good meal. And what was the other little plastic container with what appeared to be a bland combination of mayonnaise and chili powder? This was just inexplicable, as was the bone-chilling cold of the restaurant. After putting on our coats after entering the restaurant, we queried the server about the frosty atmosphere, and she merely said, "Well, the heat is on." We had to eat quickly to consume the food before it cooled. So much potential; such easily correctable issues. read more

They don't pay their employees on time and haven't for the last 3 years straight both of the owners are sleeping with 2 staff members and because of that the other staff gets treated unfairly and have to cater to that. they will get All the big parties and sections and if have a problem with that they will fire you for it.. the owners are not good to their employees AT ALL.. The Texas (or the Mexican flag) is not large enough the shame this restaurant brings the very term "Tex-Mex". This place may look all "bougie" inside but it proved to be "a dump of the highest order." The Mayonaise based stuff they leave on the tables was enjoyed by a few old time regular customers (reportedly this atrocity goes way back.) As for the rest of us... it tasted nasty... It has a "fish oil" taste and the viscosity of thin grease. The Salsa in comparison, was one step above the worst I've ever put on a chip... "Mule Sauce" from New York (yes, really). However it was still far from edible. We were all but forced to order Queso which had a taste of "canned and bland" if it was even that good. It begs the question, why don't they just put some Brookshire Brand Salsa and Canned Nacho Cheese out. They could probably get a deal on it. As for my Enchilada platter. I was served dead last at my table only after they seemingly realized I'd been forgotten. The plate they brought was the only one at the table served by an ungloved hand... The plate was hotter than hell... But the food was room temperature and tasted as if it had been cooked, left to cool then reheated and allowed to cool again (it had about 20 minutes to do just that.) The cheese was hard and thick. But aside from all of that... the flavor was inexcusably horrendous. The spices seemed either "based on a dare" or just "haphazardly chosen and doused, with closed eyes"... Whatever it was... those spices did not belong in a TexMex dish (or kitchen.) Two bites and I was done. As the others at my table were experiencing quite similar catastrophes ranging from "Gulf Shrimp" that was perhaps procured from "a gulf" in China, to Improperly cooked and plated dishes... I decided to not even bother adding another complaint and or sending my food back. Nothing else on the table (my friends had) looked any better than what I got. Hell they couldn't even get Nachos right. I just paid my bill and went on. Never to return to that dump. I should have checked Yelp first and I would have had more realistic expectations. (I'd have still gone to be with my friends and listen to the live music... but would have eaten elsewhere first.) Taco Bell is 10 steps up the ladder from what this place serves. Party of 6. Waited about 30 minutes for 4 orders to be delivered, one was wrong. I fixed that one myself by removing chopped up jalapenos from a quesadilla for a 9 year old who explicitly asked for no jalapenos. I told the waitress when she came back and she said that pico de gallo is mixed in and it has jalapenos in it. Thanks for the warning ahead of time. 5th order arrived 5 minutes later, then 6th 5 minutes after. 6th was incorrect and waitress even admitted it when she sat down the food. Tortillas were rubbery, both flour and corn. My bowl was absolutely tasteless. Wife had three enchiladas that had about a teaspoon of chicken in each one and nothing else, no cheese and the toppings looked like something you'd find in an infant diaper. The "hot sauce" tastes like tomato sauce with some chili powder mixed in. Won't be returning. Won't recommend it. How do places like this actually stay open? It's terrible. read more

Manny's breakfast gets two stars at best--one for existing, and one because we wanted to try something new. We walked in excited, like kids on Christmas morning, but left feeling like Santa had skipped our house. Had to ask for coffee twice. By the time it arrived, I was so tired I almost considered drinking it through an IV. Refills? Forget it. Water, coffee, hot sauce--apparently, they were all in the witness protection program. The waitstaff spent most of their time in the back. The food? Let's just say the word "quality" filed a restraining order. My migas were so greasy I briefly considered checking my cholesterol on the spot. The beans were lukewarm, which is exactly the temperature beans should be if you want to simulate regret. When I mentioned this to the server, she gave me the universal response of someone who'd rather be anywhere else: the polite-but-I don't care smile. Oh, and the check? Took 15 minutes. We finally had to hunt down someone to let us pay, which felt like a weird twist on dining--usually restaurants want your money, not hide from it. Family always insists on going to Manny's. I will say that Jennifer our server was stellar! Understaffed, she managed to be ontop of everything for our 6 person table. Manny's has opened back up. The only good thing I can say about it is the food was good. We won't be back because of the ear piercingly loud music. When the music was not playing the noise level was atrocious because of all the hard surfaces. Also, while the music was playing you had to yell at your table mates to be heard. When the music stopped, people were still yelling. Prices are unreasonablely yet high for the amount of food you get. Ordered the cheese enchiladas to go, & I could only force it down because we had already spent money on it. The cheese inside the enchilada was literally square & tubular. Waitress dropped a bowl of salsa on the floor which bounced to my bald head, drenched my wife, covered our child's back pack. She apologized and was embarrassed. Not sure why it shows closed, because we were just there 2 days ago. They are known for their enchiladas, which are very good. Unfortunately, I ordered chicken fajitas for lunch, and they were terrible. The chicken was so rubbery, I ate two bites and couldn't finish. Ended up eating the onions and peppers, so I wouldn't leave totally hungry. My mother ordered the tacos and had the same issue. If we ever return, we'll stick to the enchiladas. read more

This will be our "go to place" from now on. We were excited to find Manny's open. We were frequent patrons of El Charro's On The Ridge and we're heart sick when they closed during the Pandemic for good. But at Manny's we found the same great menu and same great taste. The Quesadillas were fantastic and the chicken enchiladas with verde sauce my husband ordered were also the same as he was used to at El Charros but with a little more heat in the verde sauce, super good! Though their salsa isn't the same, the Old Fashioned Tacos (off the menu secret classic item) are off-the-charts AMAZING. Tonight, our server Tia was absolutely SPECTACULAR, and such a warm smile! Our drinks were never empty and she was a wonderful person so have a conversation with! Another server who recognized my dad, came and gave him a huge hug and was, again, a great and warm person! Our party of four was outside on the deck trying to enjoy a local band. After being charged a $10 cover charge per person. I have NEVER heard of a restaurant charging a cover charge to watch live entertainment!!! The reason you have live entertainment is to bring customer in to eat in your place!!!! When I asked my friend why this was not on she said that a staff member gave her some lame excuse...All customers either had a choice of gas heaters inside a drop cloth area (plastic mind you!) where you cannot enjoy the band. Or outside with only heat source being 80 feet away. It was cold y'all! So we paid 10 dollars a person...40 dollars total for my family so far! to freeze our ass off!!! Our food was very small portions and way over priced! (served barely warm, then turned cold fast) We was celebrating a 72 yr old birthday in which he always orders one beer a year to drink to his birthday. Which someone working at this place took away from him after only one drink. So we moved metal fire pit. Which barely scratched up the wooden deck. Owner said nothing to us until after we paid our bill. Then he walked past us screaming & yelling into his cellphone. He did this intentionally so we could hear him!!!! I cannot stand by and watch a man yell at two women who had nothing to to do with this matter. So I yelled at him, he told us all to leave which we was already on the process of doing. Good restaurant with amazing wait staff. I know it doesn't look like much but it was a very pleasant experience. I see all the bad reviews but our experience was good. Wait staff always keep up on drinks and chips. Even the manager walked thru and got us a refill too while our server was passing out our plates. Food was good too. Only complaint would probably be the fajitas. I found the portion smaller than anticipated and lacked much flavor. But the rest of the food was great. I was extremely happy with the atmosphere and customer service for the most part. One of the biggest MUSTS for my family when we eat Tex-Mex or mexican food in general is for there to be good hot sauce. Everything we tried was very bland. They also had a promotion for free queso, I signed up for it, showed the waiter and he completely forgot about it after two reminders. At the end of the meal when we finally got it he charged us for it even though they literally had FREE queso flyers all over the building. Double check your receipts, pretty pricey and not worth the buck. I bought the 4 taco plate and was not impressed with the chicken, but the beef fajita tacos were more flavorful. read more

my wife and i went on 1/12/19 @ around 6:30. The place was Mildly crowded but didn't appear to be to bad. Kinda like the first wave of dinner rush had just ended. But the receptionist acted like our only option was to sit at the bar. so in a effort to sate our hunger we agree to be seated in the bar area even though neither of us intended to drink that night. The receptionist starts walking us back and as soon as we clear the entry way we see there are several cleaned and open tables in the main dining area. but follow regardless. I also noted that it was quite loud and that the building does nothing to try and limit the racket. it was even more striking once we reach their bar area. the noise from the TV's and the din of a full bar and totally full bar tables was nearly physically palpable with the buildings poor acoustics. We are set at a small two top attached to the long bench that makes up the divider from the bar to the main dining area. and leaves to get me a chair to sit in across from my wife. problem is you really couldn't fit another chair there because the bar tables encroached upon any reasonable space for a second chair at the table we are seated at. so no big deal i will just cuddle the wife a little and squeeze in with her on the bench. There was a little delay between us getting seated and recieving our chips and salsa and another delay before our drink was finally taken. all and all i would say there was about five minuets of dead time between us getting the chips and salsa and finally our drinks. Drinks were good and tasted right guess the fountain hasn't had enough time to be gunked up from lack of care. The chips and Salsa on the other hand were a major let down. the slasa lacked any real flavor and felt like it came out of a can bought in a grocery store. They did bring a squirt bottle of this creamy hot sauce stuff though. and if you dump a good shot of it in the salsa and mix it up it becomes passable. chips were fresh and of good quality and not banged up. We also ordered some Queso while we were perusing the menu. it was also rather disappointing. the first bite was pretty good but that was simply because i wanted chips and Queso. But as i got further into it i realized this was likely just a can of Rico's Nacho Cheese and Rotell Pepper mix thrown together and nuked for service. I felt like i could have just as easily gone to the store and got the same quality. The server in our area was also odd. often asking if we were good or needed drinks from about half way across the bar area while he was checking on two other tables at the same time. all of this combined with the overwhelming noise level just left us with a very sour taste in our mouth. So we decided to cut our losses cash out. We ended up at Sonic and came away much more satisfied than with our experience at mannny's. Went for their vegan menu. I thought the cheese tasted a bit too real, but trusted that I was just imagining it. I've been violently ill for the past 6 hours because it was real cheese. It was the only food I had today so I know it was this place. I haven't had dairy in 5 years and now I'm having basically an allergic reaction, contemplating going to seek medical care. Be warned if you're dairy free. Don't advertise vegan if you're not going to make sure 100% of the plate is actually vegan. People can get incredibly sick from this mistake. read more
