We hauled our two toddlers into Manny's at 4:50 to try it out. Sat there for over 10 minutes eating chips and bad salsa while watching over 10 waiters play on their phones and lean against walls while we didn't even have waters. I seen the commercial and decided since they claim to be the best in town we would give it a try. We had tickets to a show and had 1 hour. The resultant was full which included a party of 100!!!! Yes I know what you are thinking but no the waitstaff did not miss a beat! Absolutely the best experience. Mario and his assistant (waiter in training) stayed on top of it. Drinks never went empty, chips and salsa flowed and the FOOD....AMAZING! Mario was attentive to not only our needs but the entire restaurant! He moved quickly, positively and trained the others to do so as well. You must try at least once and ask for Mario. You will not be disappointed. I was at work and I ordered through Waitr, so I can't speak to any dine-in experience. I ordered the beef chile relleno with ranchero sauce. The chile relleno was wrapped in a flat, rectangular scrambled egg, which I wasn't expecting as the menu doesn't say anything about the egg. I don't care for eggs so I removed it (glad I'm not allergic!), I would've rather the egg not been there at all. The chile itself was very spicy, and that was where the flavor began and ended. Ranchero sauce, rice, and beans were all bland (I later cut up the relleno and put it in the rice and beans to give them flavor), and the chips were hard and I don't think they make them there, and the salsa is forgettable and it too doesn't taste fresh. I would have rather had Chuy's chile relleno, plus their chips and salsa (and creamy jalapeno!) are far better, for a more reasonable price. After he tried my leftovers, my husband thanked me for taking one for the team. Good Tex-Mex doesn't have to (and shouldn't) cost a lot to be delicious, there is no reason a single chile relleno and bland sides should ever cost $13.29, it's just absurd. read more

I never go to any place that head less than 3.5 stars but I made an exception tonight because a friend asked me to check it out for them... Big mistake. I will say that the server was very nice but service was slow slow slow. Ordered a small my meal...queso, they were out of Blanco... And it was edible. Just ordered a half order of beef fajita nachos. btw, this is the 2nd place that asked if I wanted beans.... Of course I was beans... If I didn't I would be ordering cheese nachos. The place want packed... Less than 20 people in the place. A half order of nachos took forever... When that came out, this little broken chips in the bottom of the drawer were piled up on the plate. Beans, cheese and little chunks of fajita beef... And some jalepenos... That's it! No guac, no sour cream, no nothing. You have to order that separately for an extra charge. What tex mex place seriously serves nachos like this? Chips were fresh but salsa was blah. Place was filthy. Music was way too loud like we were in a bar and they did finally play Mexican music. This restaurant is a waste of a great neon sign outside. Don't waste your time. read more

We've now been here twice and really enjoy it. The salsa is flavorful, and has a great kick. The best part (from our viewpoint) is the vegan section on the menu. I've had the avocado enchiladas (pictured), and the vegan chile relleno, and my wife has had the spinach enchiladas, and the mushroom quesadilla. Everything has been top notch! We we're greeted friendly. Our server was friendly, got every order correct the first time, The food was hot and tasty. The drinks were pretty and tasty. There was a live band outside that was good and loud. There were 5 of us and with tip it was less than $75. That included a swirl. That was my second time traveling to Tyler and eating at Manny's. Totally lacking atmosphere, like a shoe store moved out and Manny's moved in. But hey, we are here for the food, right? I had combo plate consisting of a crispy taco, soft taco, enchilada - basic Tex-Mex. Wife had taco salad. My meal was fine, only downside was the crispy taco was laid on its side on the plate, and the top half was crispy and bottom half was soggy. Wife said her salad was fine and could have benefited with addition of avocado, and the olives were unnecessary, but all in all hers was OK too. Chips and salsa before meal were good. All in all it rates smack in the middle of good to bad, not great, not bad. Were it my place of business, I would aim a bit higher, but they get the job done just good enough to be OK. read more

I haven't been to Manny's for several months but I ate their today, which was my last time. Arrived there about 2:00 Pm and Manny was at the front counter in his T-Shirt and told us to seat ourselves. We did and our waiter arrived in a timely fashion. My wife wanted fajitas and the waiter explained that they were actually one flour tortilla with the meat included along with the typical sides. Pretty weird for a fajita order.....one flour tortilla for $10:00. I ordered the Chicken Tony's tacos. I was served beef instead. I have been eating chicken Tony's tacos for years snd have never ordered beef. I asked our waiter if what I received was beef instead of chicken and he asked if I wanted to change my order. No, I ordered chicken but forget it with no offer to correct my order. We paid our check at the table and when we left, there was a female waitress at the front counter that never looked up as we were leaving or asked how our meal was. If she had done so, I would not have posted this since I would have been able to express my experience with them. Again, I'm done with this place. read more

If you and I have ever been in a fight with one another, please try Manny's. If not, avoid it like the plague. The food was atrocious and the service was worse. We waited for what seemed an eternity in some side room, although there were plenty of open tables in the main dining room, for what turned out to be terrible service. Both of our orders were wrong, and when we pointed it out, our server shrugged and made no effort to make them right. I chalked it up to inexperience, as the place was new. Of course, we have never returned, and we won't. Anyone who gives this restaurant more than one star probably has a relative working there. Went to lunch today with a friend. My lunch fajitas were nasty. There was so much oil from the grilled onions and peppers that I just couldn't eat it. I have never ordered fajitas were they came prepared already, so my tortilla was not edible as it was saturated in oil. I ate the grilled chicken and some Cold rice. Not worth ten bucks! Our waitress was so eager for us to leave. We were sitting there talking as my friend was not finished with her meal and she said " can I get you anything before you leave ?" Went to try it out at lunch with coworkers, total bust. First of all we ordered the lunch fajitas, ummm it came out on 1 tortilla. Never in my life have I seen fajitas served like this. We thought $8.99 was cheap for lunch fajitas, turns out it was steep for what we got. Service was horrible, meaning none even at Noon and not busy. Our server tended to other tables but not our party of 3. No refills, no additional tortillas offered with the 1 we got with our fajitas. I ordered queso with ground beef and the chicken tortilla soup to go. I can't begin to tell you how good the soup was, but at the same time I'm almost certain I would have gotten sick if I'd eaten the queso. The soup has big chunks of chicken, great veggies, and an overall excellent flavor. The queso didn't have the ground beef as ordered, looked questionable, and smelled like they used bad milk or cheese in it. I threw that entire container away. On the other hand, I ate the entire bowl of soup. Had I dined in I would have send the queso back, but since I was already at home I chalked it up to a lesson learned. read more

My family loved El Charro's & decided to try Manny's since his brother owned it. My mom & I both ordered "the special" & it was as great as it was when I got the same from El Charro. We came during lunch today! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The menu is very similar if not the same as El Charros on the Ridge. Our food came out very quickly and it tasted delicious. I poured salt, pepper, even some lemon juice to taste anything in that salsa.
